Excellent little hotel with a great location in Paris - friendly staff, and room cleaning to a high standard!
I only wish the AC could go a little bit colder but that's a minor complaint compared to the rest of my experience. I'd stay here again if I were to visit Paris in the future.

I recently stayed at the Rue de Lafayette Hotel in Paris for a quick overnight stop. Overall, it was a convenient and practical choice for a short stay, though it came with a few drawbacks. The location was excellent, easy to reach and close to public transport, which made getting around the city very simple. The welcome at reception was warm and efficient, and the staff made check-in smooth, which I appreciated after a long day of travel.

The room itself was quite basic, with minimal furnishings and limited space, but it was clean and tidy, which is always a plus. Unfortunately, it did get rather hot during the night, but there is aircon. Another small issue was the soundproofing, you could hear pretty much everything from the bathroom, which wasn’t ideal for privacy. The lighting also caused some frustration, as the switches didn’t always seem to work properly.

Despite these inconveniences, the hotel served its purpose well for a one-night stopover. It’s not a place I’d choose for a longer holiday or if I wanted a lot of comfort or amenities, but for a simple stay close to the city’s main attractions and transport links, it did the job.

Hotel LaFayette was exactly what we were looking for during our trip to Paris! My partner and I wanted a convenient place to stay located in a “lived in” (not touristy) part of the city while still being near dining, the metro, and things to do. Hotel LaFayette fit the bill exactly!

The check-in experience went very smoothly even though we were later than anticipated due to a flight delay. Front desk staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Their team speaks both French and English, so for travelers who aren’t fluent in French, there are no concerns with getting checked in.

The room we stayed in was quite small compared to an American hotel room, but we were constantly out in the city doing things so it fit our needs exactly - a place to come back to for a shower and bed. While the beds were a little firmer than my preferred taste, the location and price made our stay worth it!

There is breakfast available at the hotel for a fee, but we did not end up trying it. Everything looked great and we saw many other hotel guests enjoying breakfast before heading out for the day. There is a cute Patisserie and Boulangerie just down the street near the closest Metro station as well as several restaurants for lunch and dinner. The location is highly walkable and we enjoyed ourselves very much!

Walkable to Gare du Nord, subway and high traffic areas.

No air conditioning. The in-room portable fan wasn’t the best solution.

The staff were great. Friendly and able to talk in English (without judging our poor French skills)

AWFUL STAY!! We stayed for 5 nights during summer where the air conditioning was broken the entire time.
We also misplaced our room key on the first night and reception were unable to provide a replacement which meant for the remainder of the trip we had to go downstairs to get them to lock/unlock our room.
And just to top things off after a fun day exploring Paris we came back to find that my medication which I had put in the fridge had been moved and put into the freezer, making it now unusable. Reception were completely unhelpful sending me around in circles just to find someone to talk to. I was eventually told I would be compensated for the damage of my medication which is very expensive and have now been unable to get a response from the hotel for weeks!! Really really unacceptable.

Hot nights at Paris Hotel La Fayette

Great location a block from Rue La Fayette. Plenty of restaurants everywhere. Bed was simple but firm (good). No bedside tables. Main problem was 3 days with no AC. They gave us a fan so we managed, but I bet others just changed to a hotel where AC was working. The weather was unusually hot.
Coffee was an automated every thing machine. Not good. The old drip coffee cafe au lait I have had at other French hotels is really preferable. So we did not take advantage of breakfasts except for mini croissants and juice. Staff were very competent and kind.

I like the breakfast. It seemed as if the room cleaning situation was unclear. They should explain that at the front desk during check-in. If room cleaning is supposed to be every other day, I got it done (without asking) every day, except when I had put the \"Do not disturb\" sign out for maybe 1/2 hour.

The shower was great and bathroom very clean, the bed comfortable.
It's near the Gare du Nord, which is handy.
The room was really small.
You could hear a lot of plumbing from other rooms in the night. The road was often very quiet but suddenly very noisy and we didn't sleep very well as a result.

Excellent places beside metro and easily walkable from Gare du Nord. 25 min walk to Montmartre. Would go back for sure. Lots of little shops etc around for groceries, croissants etc.

This property is clean. Near the metro station and about 10-15 minutes walk from Gare Du Nord station. Not far from Galeries la Fayette.
We couldn’t used the lift to get to the third floor for the entire time of our stay (not working), so we had to carry our luggage upstairs.
Happy with the room very clean. And happy with the staff.

Nice hotel for what it is, no bells and whistles, very steep spiral staircase to the studio apartments, we didn’t mind that as we are young enough, but if your elderly this would not be ideal, rooms were cleaned regularly but the cleaning left a very strong chemical smell that lingered all day afterwards. Reception staff were nice and friendly, we were allowed to leave our suitcases in a locked room when we arrived several hours prior to check in without any hassle. The location is ok, lots of restaurants within 5-15 minutes walk and the train station is with a 10 minute walk.

Great location but felt scammed.

I try to avoid bad reviews but think this could be helpful for others

Was told elevator was going to be fixed “tomorrow” first day we came in and that i could get complimentary service.

Elevator was broken for the wntore stay and see reviews saying its been broken for months, had to drag luggage up 5 flights. Things break which is fine but feel misled if its been broken for months and advertised as working.

Free breakfast turns out to not be free. Found out halfway through my stay. Asked front deal about what he said and he pretended like it never happened.

Cleaning staff and kitchen staff super friendly. Front desk staff not good.

Not as clean as you’d imagine but its a 3 star so didn’t expect a ton.

Great hotel just 10 min walk from gard du nord train station, pleasant reception and breakfast room, lift to all floors, WiFi great and rooms are lovely - I had a upper deluxe room which I believe are slightly bigger. Newly decorated, large flat screen tv (only bbc news In English) kettle with coffees and teas, hairdryer in bathroom - no view as mine overlooked otger bedrooms but we were barely there so not an issue, air con and large windows … Not luxurious but definitely adequate for a short break
Area around the hotel was great with a street full of bars, restaurants, shops etc and felt safe in the evening..

Hotel rooms are basic, but this is only a 3 star hotel and is very very clean. dining area is nice and fresh, plenty of choice for breakfast. nice polite helpful staff. Could really do with a small fridge in the room and a mirror in the bedroom as the only mirror available in our room was on the inside door of the bathroom so if someone is in the shower then you have no mirror to do hair and make up in - so would suggest a further mirror in the bedroom area. Beds were made everyday and towels changed. Beds, linen and pillows were really comfortable and we slept like babies. Really enjoyed our stay - would recommend. Reception staff, nice , helpful and friendly. Thank you a lovely stay.

Great place with a climb.

Really enjoy the place. We had a studio room and it was perfect for us. Only downside was the hike up the 4 floors of stairs. We normally take the stairs off this level but these stairs we extra special. If you have difficulty climbing stairs, this would be a deal breaker. We loved the location, across from a great coffee bakery shop. Less than 5 minutes from subway. It was great. Would stay here again for our next trip to Paris.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Paris La Fayette. The room was tiny and when we asked about a more spacious bathroom, they kindly upgraded us to an apartment. It was not exceptionally clean but was good. The small kitchen space had a bit of an odor, especially if you ran water in the kitchen. The location is awesome! It is a three-minute walk from the Metro with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The area felt safe enough and we appreciated that the hotel locked the doors late at night. I would recommend this hotel!

The hotel was very clean in all areas, the staff were very friendly and helpfull. Plus the hotel is very close to Gard du Nord.
Breakfast was excellent for 10€.

The room was clean but the hotel felt very basic - more like a nice youth hostel than a real hotel. There was no wardrobe, no real hairdryer, paper cups, cheap bed which slipped around, some small holes in the sheets, frayed towels. The foyer and reception area is tiny and does not give a good first impression. If someone is talking at the desk, anyone else has to stand in the doorway that goes straight onto the street. I was surprised this has 3 stars. However, it was clean, fairly freshly decorated and had black-out blinds.

We had a lovely stay here. The hotel is in a great location - 10 minutes walk from Gare Du Nord and has plenty of restaurants, cafes and bakeries nearby. There is also a well stocked supermarket across the road. This area feels less touristy which is great. The room was fairly small but completely fine and as expected - it looked exactly like the photo so we knew this would be the case. The bathroom and bed linen were impeccably clean. Wonderful hot powerful shower. We had the best nights sleep due to the very effective blackout curtains and no road outside our window. The staff on the reception desk were helpful and friendly and even let us use their printer. We didn’t have breakfast or use the dining area but it looked well stocked and good value for money. Lots of space to sit with laptops or to read a book. Would definitely recommend as a place to stay in Paris

Thank you to team Hotel la Fayette! My daughter and I were made extremely comfortable throughout our stay. Davidi and his staff were welcoming and helped us with all our requirements. Location is spot on, metro link took us to all major sites, very regular including the buses. Hotel staff advised us with restaurant recommendations and always asked if we needed anything else. The staff were professional, smart, friendly and very helpful. I will book this hotel again for a longer stay soon.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Shower was hot with plenty of pressure. Conveniently located near metro and food establishments. Note that room was modern and updated, while hallways and other parts are not so updated--for me the rooms are what matters. We had a window to the street, which was nice for fresh air. The window didn't make a tight seal when closed, so I was concerned about noise, but we were so tired, and turned in pretty late and arose early, so I wasn't disturbed. I would stay again.

The hotel is extremely clean, all areas. Employees very helpful and pleasant. The room, like all hotels in Europe, is small; I was traveling alone and reserved the smaller room.
which looked like the photo but without a chair.
There was no room for it. Next time I'll reserve a bigger room. Breakfast was very good. Cold items but a nice selection. Wonderful baguettes, croissants, cereal, yogurt hard boil eggs etc. Good hot water and excellent pressure.
Had a minor problem with the bathroom lite and it was fixed by the time I returned in the afternoon.

What a great hotel. This was about 200 feet from the Pigalle metro station. Beautifully decorated and comfortable. Perfectly placed for exploration in and around the Montemare area. Economical price but fun place to stay. Staff spoke several languages including English. Quite well I might add.

My new pied à terre!

This hotel was great. The staff were friendly and it even had facilities to leave bags for free after check out. The décor was insta worthy and it’s close to the poisonnière métro and when I say close I mean 2 minutes max! Another plus is it has a lift which many don’t. My solo room was lovely with a Juliet balcony. Comfy bed and a hot shower. Breakfast was offered but I didn’t partake

This hotel is in a good location. It is in close proximity of a train station and lots of restaurants around. The staffs were helpful. It was rainy and they got us an umbrella. The room is small and suitable for two people. The shower was great.

A very pleasant stay at La Fayette

I wasn’t sure what to expect after reading some of the reviews. However, I am very pleased to say that I have nothing negative to report about the hotel whatsoever. We were in a triple room which was great and probably better than most rooms of that nature in Paris. There were 2 single beds on one side of the room with a door if required, and the other single bed was in a space of its own on the other side of the bathroom, so everyone wasn’t on top of each other. The room, bathroom and toilet were very clean and the decor was also very pleasant. I stayed the first evening on my own and felt very safe. The hotel is a few steps from Poissonnière métro which made it a perfect base to explore the city from. A quiet and comfortable spot to lay your head at night after a busy day of sight seeing.

what can i say

good location, nice small hotel (lobby, lunch room, etc)...but the room for 3 persons was nothing like the pictures...quite small (not even place for a chair or desk, just the beds in 2 zones, with bathroom in between.
General state of the room, walls, paint, carpets, etc...was not fully up to standard, definitively not one of the rooms shown on the app.

Il y avait la Clim qui ne fonctionnait pas bien et un petit bruit continuel comme une sonnerie légère mais ce n’était pas très gênant pour moi. À part ça c’était parfait un plus pour le café et les chocolats gratuits et l’eau parfumée à volonté !! Très bon séjour dans l’ensemble. Météo à proximité immédiate et quartier animé.

The hotel room was no air conditioning which is not matched with the accommodation details as described when the booking was made. The room was way too hot to stay in even though a fan was provided and tough to sleep. Even worst was that the room was not closed in the first night when we get back to the hotel which is a serious security issue.

I've tried multiple times to contact the manager and finally got a refund of ~ 20% of the total stay but the amount we paid for it not worth it and able to find a similar hotel with AC of similar price though.
