The front office staff are friendly and very helpful. The hotel is in a good location for exploring Paris and a few minutes walk to the Metro. The breakfast is also good. The noise from the street can be quite loud during the night. Overall a good experience!

The Montholon Hotel was a very good choice for our stay in Paris It was an easy walk from the Eurostar Terminal. We had, as requested a double bed in a nice clean and well appointed room with a good view from the windows. Breakfast was simple but adequate, in clean surroundings. What was a very busy main road is now mainly bicycles and so the hotel was quiet and peaceful. All very good!

More like a hostel than a hotel. Room was small and the whole place shook everytime a train went past. Road outside was extremely busy with constant noise. Rooms are far too hot in August and the small fan provided does nothing. Breakfast was poor, small dry pastries on offer not much else.

Small room for a family of 4. Unfortunately the room didn’t have aircon on a very hot day (admittedly this was my error for not checking) but there was no fan available and we were unable to open the windows overnight, due to the noise and safety (we were only 1 floor up)
The room had little storage, a kettle and cups but no coffee. the bathroom was a wet room, which when wet didn’t smell great, there was also a cover over some cables that kept falling open in the bathroom. Overall the room was clean and the beds were fine.
Luckily we only stayed for 1 night and we did managed to sleep, despite the noise outside and the rubble metro underneath!

Staff were friendly. Easy to get to from Gard du Nord. Lots of restaurants around. Room was basic although clean. Bathroom could have done with a divider between the shower and the toilet. The main let down was the lack of a bar (that was advertised). As a young family, we like to play cards at night in the hotel. We were expecting to do this but weren’t able to. This impacted our overall satisfaction as the hotel was slightly mis-sold.

This is the first time I’m facing with theft by hotel team - they throw away my flowers and when I returned to the flowers were not in the room. And refuse to admit this and compensate.
Very strange. Very unpleasant issue while you are in holidays.

Breakfast is very poor (maybe normal European one).
Room in standard category is quite old and with tiny window, very unpleasant feeling like in coffin

Perfect spot to be in, with the metro just a short walk away.

Boutique hotel so don’t expect anything big - but there was great customer service from the receptionists. There are a fair few restaurants and boulangeries nearby/within a short walk.

Lift is very small and not suitable for wheelchair users. I got in there with two suitcases but my partner had to walk up the stairs.

Great location close to metro, Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est - of course that meant that there was a fair amount of traffic noise. No air con and it was very warm during our stay. The room was tiny but it was clean and the rainfall shower was very good.

For starters, they should make it clear that the hotel is right above a metro. This means that every 20 minutes or so, you feel it rattling below you in the middle of the night.
The rooms facing the inner courtyard were dreary and depressing. The rooms facing the street were slightly better. The view to the park was nice.
This hotel must have been nice about 15 or 20 years ago, but it needs maintenance. There has been zero effort put into the design or the upkeep of the downstairs breakfast area. Not sure why anyone would want to eat there.
The cleaning crew was good at making the beds but the room was dusty.
The employees were pretty unfriendly although they did change our room when we told them the courtyard one was not acceptable and they did call a taxi for us.

This hotel is a joke. This is a two star hotel at best. Room fixtures are made out of plywood boards and accessories and wall mounta are coming off the wall. The worst part of it all, rooms do not have A/C. Room service tags for doors handles not accessible. Light fixtures all on timers. Place is a joke.

Missing basic amenities

This is a 2 star hotel, defintitely not 3. My 4-night stay was below average at best as the hotel was missing some basic amenities. Major issues I had were: 1) there is no A/C; 2) there is only 1 iron for the entire hotel and no ironing board! You have to go down and ask reception for it and hope whoever had it last returns it; 3) No sign on door to tell housekeeping whether you want service or not so I was woken up 2 days by housekeeping just barging into room without even knocking; 4) Wi-Fi is TERRIBLE. It kept going in and out or requiring you to login with password every few minutes. After the first night, I bought a SIM card so I wouldn’t have to rely on hotel Wi-Fi; 5) Beds were hard and linens basic; and 6) rooms facing the street are VERY noisy.
The good: 1) Hotel staff was friendly enough and provided water if asked, 2) good central location close to metro station, and 3) hot shower with good water pressure.

It is a very old school hotel (they still have physical room keys instead of cards) and it was missing some of the basics one would expect in a “3 star” facility. I would not stay here again.

The hotel did not look like the pictures. Our room took days to finally get warm despite being told that our heater was working (it was not). The bathroom smelled like a sewer and there weren't any wash cloths so we had to shower with hand towels everyday. We called Hotels.com to try and get a refund but they said that Hotel Montholon refused so we were stuck.

The hotel was a 10 min walk from Gare du Nord which was super convenient. There are lots of restaurants nearby, and a metro station is only a block away. The concierge desk had fresh complimentary chocolate croissants for guests each morning (yum). The rooms are quite spacious for Parisian hotels. We enjoyed our stay very much. Be careful staying here during the hot months, as there is no A.C. in the rooms, but the hotel provides fans for guests in each room. The temperature was perfect and we opened the windows in the morning to let in fresh air. Would totally stay here again.

Great hotel, 12 mins walk from train station, 5 min walk to metro.

In Paris for 2 nights, great for somewhere to sleep. We used the room which housed a family of 4. Don’t expect the Ritz but somewhere that is clean, tidy, warm and close to amenities

1. temperature was low, and cold.

2. poor cleaning service. we left 930 in the morning, and requested to clean the room. the receptionist told me they will clean it out afternoon. but when i got back at 430pm, the room was still uncleaned. bed sheet still dirty, bathroom still dirty, no one change the bathroom towel and let the trash can empty. i asked them why not? than the receptionist told me, because of European always concern its environmental condition, they don't offer cleaning service unless we ask it. and even she taught me nowhere in the world offer cleaning service unless customer request. even she acted like bang her head by herself, because of my request was so aggressive and high. I got shocked from her reaction and had to sorry if i made her uncomfortable to ask those common things...

3. i changed bed from one double to two single. but they just put together two single bed just next to each other with 50 extra charge. there is no point to change it unless there is a gap between two beds.

The room was very clean and nicely located close to the subway and also just 5-10 minutes walk away of Gare du Nord.

The area is a bit noisy; you can hear cars and even people talking even with the windows being closed.

The only real problem with the hotel was the wi-fi which didn't work at all for me. I wasn't able to connect to the wi-fi throughout the duration of my stay there.

Good hotel overall. Friendly and helpful staff. The room was VERY small, especially for a family of 4 but when you are in Paris, you are not there to stay in the room so it was OK. Bathroom had everything needed. The street was pretty quiet relatively speaking (we have experienced had a lot noisier than that).

It's a newly renovated small hotel with very low ceiling height so feel cramped when first stepped into the room. Location is ok with nice view facing a park, but not too close to Paris center. Sound proofing is not good, the first night almost can't sleep due to street noise from vehicles.

Petit déjeuner le stricte minimum, à 9h00 il restait 1 quart d'une tranche de jambon et 3 fines tranches de rosette. La personne qui gerait était devant. Il a fallu que je demande de la charcuterie supplémentaire. De la rosette est arrivée mais pas de jambon. Buffet très léger et décevant.
Je ne recommande pas le petit déjeuner.
Hôtel pour 1 nuit ça passe.
