Room was very spacious and clean. Toilet area was immaculate - no mold at all. Location was perfect - tonnes of food downstairs. Room was so so quiet for the privilege room. Parking however was a 5 mins walk.

This hotel was ok if you’re not spending much time in it. It was clean and the bed was comfortable but The classic room was way too small. I could barely move. I felt claustrophobic in the shower! I will not be staying there again.

Tiny room - great value for central Paris

The location is amazing and the price is reasonable compared with the alternatives. The room is about the size of a cabin on a cruise ship - you can manage but it's very tight. The staff was friendly. We were a little disappointed that they couldn't store our bag for 2 days between our two bookings in their hotel (while we went to Normandy). Overall, if we need to be in central Paris, we would book it again.

Small room, inadequate aircon.

Would rate as 3 star not 4. I can compare this with the Mercure hotel I stayed at for the previous 3 nights which was 4 star.

Staff are friendly and responsive, hotel is quiet and in good location for transport and local restaurants.

The hotel isn’t close to the main hub of Paris but train station is a 5 minute walk and easy to navigate. There were two restaurants right downstairs. The staff was awesome!

Return visit to hotel in 10th arondissement

This was a return visit to the hotel as our previous experience was positive. As before the staff are pleasant and helpful. The room was quiet at night and the bed was comfortable. Rooms are smaller than I remember (bijou?) but adequate when you are spending your time sightseeing and socialising. The quirky designs on the ceilings are an interesting feature. Breakfast is a good standard with a selection of fresh food replaced throughout the morning and there are good restaurants and bars within a few minutes walk. The wifi worked. The location is convenient for Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est and because of the transport strike we discovered that it's possible to walk to the city centre in 20-30 minutes.

The staff are very welcoming, helpful and efficient. Classic room was nicely refurbished and very clean. Didn’t try breakfast as we wanted to be out and about early. Didn’t use public transport as we like walking. Location may not suit those who want to be closer to more popular sites? Overall, we felt the hotel gave value for money.

Small hotel in a convenient location not far from 3 different Metro stations.
Friendly and helpful staff throughout our stay.
Good size Privilege room for 3 of us, nice shower although it tended to flood the bathroom floor. Sound proofing seemed pretty good but it is a city centre so recommend ear plugs if you're a light sleeper.
Continental breakfast had good choice of fruit and pastries plus juice and coffee. There was a hot option but wasn't so keen on that.
A great choice for exploring Paris.

Stayed here with my family (wife & 2 daughters, 11 & 9) for five nights. We booked an apartment, which was listed as three bedrooms (it wasn't). The apartment consisted of an entrance hallway, which had a couch, a wardrobe, a small toilet and a stairway up to the next floor. The 2nd floor was a living room / kitchenette that had a double pullout sofabed, then up two steps was the main bedroom, with a double bed and off that was a bathroom which had a decent sized shower. It was all finished in a very \"rustic\" manner, exposed whitewashed beams etc. The bed was comfy enough, though the linen was not the softest I have ever slept in, I would surmise that it had a fair percentage of polyester mixed in with the cotton. We had breakfast included and this was your typical continental affair of bread, cold meats, cheese, juices etc. though there was cooked bacon & sausages. The area is a busy spot with several bars & restaurants close by, it is also about 2 blocks to a couple of Metro stops. All in all a perfectly fine place to base yourself to explore central Paris, just don't expect a super luxurious experience.

While advertised as a three roomed apartment, in reality it is a one bedroomed apartment. Low ceilings and stone floors. While supposed to be sound proofed we could hear the neighbours every time they used the stairs (wooden). Anyone sleeping in the living area must go through the bedroom to the shower. There is a loo downstairs with the \"third room\" which is little more than a foyer. There is only one key to the outside door which must be left at reception so if 2 people go for a walk / run separately the last person back is locked out because the doorbell or the phone or knocking didn't work... we resorted to leaving the door open. Lots of little annoyances....tv lost signal, no dish cloth or tea towel, coffee machine chewed the coffee capsule, no soap just little bottle of shower gel. Staff fixed most of the issues.

Rude and unhelpful staff!!

Disgusting customer service, quite possibly the worst I have ever experienced from a global hotel chain. Was unable to travel to the hotel in Paris due to industrial strikes on the Eurostar. Sent multiple emails and voice messages for the hotel manager at the Mercure Paris to discuss possibility of amending my stay date. Repeatedly told she was busy or unavailable. Eventually told to stop calling even though I never even managed to speak with her! Appalling service, rude customer support. Will never use Mercure again!!

Clean hotel, very basic fresh breakfast (fry your own egg service), small bathroom towels and very limited bathroom accessories provided, no robes/slippers. Hard pillow and bed. For a 4 star hotel I expected slightly better facilities. Staff very friendly and helpful, good location, walking distance to nearest underground station (Metro). Nice bars/restaurants and small shops surrounding the area.

Good hotel for short break

The hotel was conveniently located for arrival and departure at Gare du Nord and walking distance from Gare de l'Est and metro Chateau d'Eau. Although the area is lively there isn't a lot of external noise at night. The room was compact with an interesting ceiling and the bed was comfortable. The WiFi worked. At breakfast there were both hot and cold options and these were replaced throughout breakfast. The reception staff were pleasant and helpful and Rose who was overseeing the breakfast area is an excellent ambassador for the hotel.

Everything at the hotel was amazing. Good value for money too! It was my girlfriends' birthday and I requested if they could prepare something special for us on our arrival and they did just that. Tidy, small, some problems but overall good!

Nice and tidy hotel. We had problems first with our room cards(keys), got them replaced and from then it worked. The safe didnt work, only said error. Called for help but they told me they were old and about to be replaced. Got to have our stuff down in the safe in the reception. The rooms are nice but very small. The showers are also small, we could barely close the door at the shower because it was closed to wrong way. All people working there, the tidyness and the nice breakfast made it a good choice tho.Wifi didnt work at the room even tho we manage to get into the open wifi.

The rooms in the Mecure are beautifully decorated, loved the jazz theme! Rooms were a good size - for Paris - but the bathroom was small and could have had a more practical layout. You can look forward to climbing over the toilet to get out of the shower! I would not recommend this room for someone with limited mobility. The staff at the front desk were consistently lovely and super helpful throughout our stay.
Cleanliness was the only issue we found during our stay. The bathroom was covered in thick, dark hair on the floor, and the toilet had not been cleaned properly. The following day the bathroom had been cleaned and the bin emptied/moved, revealing more hair on the floor that had not been cleaned up. The toilet was still in the same state that we found it. Such a shame that the cleanliness let down an awesome hotel!

Great hotel for sightseeing and getting around

This is a fab little hotel very comfortable everything you would need. Room was larger than expected for central Paris. My only query would be that the air con was not available and the room despite turning down the heating was warm. Windows open onto the street as we were there mid week we weren’t disturbed by the nearby bars. Would recommend and stay again.great location and easy to get around using the Metro.

Great Hotel Near Gare du Nore

Hotel was conveniently situated near Gare du Nord (10 minute walk) and was a great base from which to explore the city. Hotel / room were comfortable and surprisingly quiet. Breakfast buffet was great (variety, quality etc.). Staff were really helpful and pleasant. I would definitely recommend/stay at this hotel again.

We had a reply pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. They placed a cot bed in our room for our 1 year old. Good breakfast buffet with a Nespresso machine aswell. We were able to check in early as the room was ready and was very convenient especially as the little one was tired from travelling. Great location close to 3 metro lines all with in 5mins distance. They also held our luggage after check out allowing us to explore the city more before our return train home. Would definitely recommend and return.

This room is quite small but is adequate. It's about a 15 minute walk (at least) to any tourist destinations, but has two metro stations within 5 minutes. The shower leaked but nothing major wrong, it's a decent spot if it's just a base for your exploring.

Clean and nice hotel, area is not the best (homeless people on streets). We were given the smallest room, which was tiny and the air-con did not work properly, which was unpleasant due to summery weather (above 30 degrees) that weekend. Breakfast had a nice selection, with nespresso coffee. Only on last night we'd got another room, bigger and better air-conditioning. The fridge was tiny and not effective either.

We arrived at Gare du Nord at 10pm and needed an inexpensive hotel in close proximity to the station for a single night's occupancy. With 2 adults and a child we were given a spacious double room with an extra bed. Check-in was late but they had everything ready and we were in our room within minutes.

This hotel is great for a business traveller or those holidaying wanting to have all the options. We were close to the train stations, velib stations, walking distance to Lafayette shopping, and nearby local food spots. Just next door is an amazing 2 restaurants with an awesome vibe.

The breakfast was also great. All you need for a healthy start with out the thought of where to go. The catering staff were very polite and courteous.

I travel year once a year and will definitely come back to stay.

We were looking for a hotel close to Gare de Nord and upon arrival to Paris by train we found the hotel just a few minutes walk from the station. Reception was efficient with just city tax to pay.
The bedroom was compact, I think as most are in Paris. The tea, coffee, milk selection was very small i.e. not enough for 2 cups. We.re used to more at UK hotels.
Breakfast was a great selection and friendly, helpful staff.

We stayed for one night so perfectly adequate for that. Close to Gare du Nord (10 minute walk). Small bedroom and bathroom but clean with coffee facilities and water. Didn't have breakfast as 17 euros each seemed a bit steep and stayed on the 5th floor at the back (at our request from previous reviews so really quiet. Absolutely fine for a night or two.

The room was perfect including AC. It is a budget hotel so the linens and provided toiletries aren't as nice, but it was really clean. There is a restaurant right next door that seems to be a popular spot, and there are a few other nice restaurants close by. The area wasn't as nice but it was fine, I still walked to everywhere that I wanted to go.

Great location off grand boulevard, 20min walk from the Louvre. Plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars. Close to the metro, to easily navigate the city. As well as not far from sightseeing bus line and tourist information. Would use again, as reasonably priced.

My wife and I booked this hotel for a weekend visiting my brother in Paris. Before booking, we considered a 3* Mercure closer to where my brother lived, but wanted to enjoy the extra star in a nicer place for a bit more money. However, though customer service was very good (storing our bags for us pre-check in, sorting us out with an early breakfast on day of departure), I would not consider the hotel to be worthy of 4 stars. Rooms were nice but facilities were limited. I asked if there was a gym or leisure facilities - the man at reception said \"Yes, about half a mile down the road...\" That's my fault - I should have checked the facilities details prior to booking but expected a bit more given the rating and the Mercure name. Breakfast was a nice highlight, with plenty of selection. There are many other 3 and 4 star hotels in the area and we would try one of those out ahead of coming back here, should we plan to return.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The room, while small, was very comfy with a good bed and blackout curtains. Every part of my room and the hotel in general was spotlessly clean. It's an easy walk to the metro station or train stations and I really enjoyed the dining in the Canal St Martin area close by.

Decent hotel

The hotel is in a lively area of cafes and restaurants, if not affluent. It's about 5 minutes walk from 3 Metro stations. There is a very small reception and no restaurant, though there is a breakfast room. Bedroom well appointed, comfortable and apparently recently updated: on the 5th floor, quite silent. It suited my purpose as a base for tourism, but possibly a bit expensive for what you get: I like Mercure, but this is not as good as, say, Rouen or Exeter.

Great little hotel in a handy location

Me and my girlfriend stayed in this hotel during September 2015 for 3 nights and have no complaints whatsoever. Its a lovely hotel within walking distance from Gare du Nord and easy to reach the city sights from the nearest Metro station. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a modern hotel for a good price but don't want to pay a fortune staying in a hotel in the very center of Paris! The hotel staff were great and spoke great English! The only suggestion I would give to anyone who books this hotel is to use Strasbourg Saint-Denis as the local station to travel into town rather than Chateau d'Eau, coming out of Chateau d'Eau was a bit scary and intimidating.
