On arrival the lights in my room didn’t work, never received the free bottle of wine, no restaurant, no coffee facilities in the room, AC didn’t work nor did the fridge, breakfast was basic.

First off, STAFF WAS AMAZING! We arrived early and KAMEL, another gentleman, and Rose took extra care of us. Above and beyond. It felt as if we were in their home. Hotel is super nice. Room was great. Area was great. I would most definitely go back because of how well we were treated by the staff. Thank you!!

Lovely room and very comfy bed, slept very well. Twice had to wait on the street though as front door was locked and had to ring bell and wait several minutes for staff to open up. Shower was nice and hot but screen was only about a foot long so plenty water on the floor - Bottle of wine that was meant to come with booking also never materialised- good value for location

I had a fantastic stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. They let me leave my luggage early in the morning and when I came back to pick up something my room was ready way ahead of schedule.

Only downside was that the toilet placement made it awkward to do my business but that’s probably more to do with my Australia sized behind.

Tucked away in a relatively quiet side street, reception is always staffed. Lucky I had checked Google maps beforehand so knew what to look out for. About 15 min walk from Gare du Nord.
Our premium room was a good size (for Paris), excellent wifi signal. Breakfast was outstanding, individual serving of boiled egg, fruit salad, ham and cheese, crepe, yogurt with coulis, bread, jams and spreads, croissants, pain au choc, fresh orange juice and coffee.
Location is just below Montmartre hill, about 5 mins walk from several metro stations. You can see the Sacre Coeur from about 100m away from the hotel. Area is hilly, but nothing too extreme. Good value restaurants around, if you like to explore.

Very nice but at a price

The hotel is a lovely, boutique hotel with super friendly staff. It is located in a quiet street that is close to Cadet metro and all the amenities you need to hand. It is also within 15 mins walk of Gare du Nord. The room I had was comfortable and clean. The facilities are starting to show their use, but that is a quibble. I do think they could provide more than just a couple of bottles of water given the price of the room. You can also hear people passing your room very clearly. The prices of Paris hotels are steep, but I would say that I was charged an excessive amount, but apparently it was Paris Fashion Week? An opportunity to inflate prices? The receptionist, a young woman from Albania, was a delightful person, very friendly and positive.

Just to flag to families that Expedia sold us a booking as 2 adjoining rooms, one double and two singles, but unfortunately this is not something the hotel actually has. Therefore we were given one nice sized room with a big bed and one small room with a very small double bed - both on the same floor but not even adjacent let alone connecting. Travelling with 2 kids meant this wasn't ideal.

Apart from that hiccup, everything in the hotel is lovely. It's on a quiet street, the decor is fun and quirky, the location is fabulous with Sacre Couer a 15 minute walk away, and Gare du Nord 10 minutes walk away. The staff were all really friendly. The breakfasts were beautifully presented.

Quirky little property however the rooms are were obviously designed by a wanna be hipster architect that has never stayed in a functional hotel room in their life. 100% for quirkiness. 0% for functionality
They took a $350 pre auth on the card even when we had paid the entire bill and are still holding it a day after leaving we don’t know why?
The 15 euro brekky is a bit of a rip off but there are plenty of bakeries and good outlets around.

Situated about a 10/15 minute walk from Gare du Nord, less than 5 minutes from Cadet metro so a good base for our couple of nights in Paris.

Beautifully decorated clean room, multiple sockets should they be required, safe, tv, radio/alarm and fridge. A comfortable bed resulting in a good nights sleep without any noise disturbance.

Lovely clean bathroom, good shower pressure, decent hairdryer. Im not sure if it was me or the basin but I couldn’t work out how to use the plug so that I could fill the sink with water.

Enjoyed breakfast very much but unsure whether the options of sweet or savoury remain the same all the time. The servers at breakfast were extremely accommodating.

The staff that we dealt with were all lovely, encouraging my attempts to parlez Francais - shame I couldn’t understand their replies - but their English is considerably better than my French so there weren’t any language issues.

This is an adorable Parisian boutique hotel. The rooms are small, but definitely useable. The shower is perfection, we had windows that actually opened to let in the fresh air and the bed was comfy. The breakfast is delicious and well worth the extra money. The location is perfect just a few blocks from Gare du Nord giving you access to the entire city.

We had to delay our arrival by 24 hrs due to snow stopping a lot of trains including ours. However when we eventually got to Paris, the staff were grand and we quickly stopped trying to find restaurants for ourself, instead asking for recommendations: not once were we disappointed.
The location is great - only a short distance from Gare-du-nord and from the centre of Paris. For someone who wants to experience paris in a similar way to a resident whilst still doing the touristy stuff without significant inconvenience - this place is great.
But the staff truly are what makes this place grand. Everyone had a smile, and made us feel welcome - definitely using this place again next time the 2 of us visit Paris, probably for our honeymoon.

This is NOT a 4 star hotel, probably not even 3. The rooms are TINY, and if you are on the short side or not very flexible, good luck getting in the bathtub for a shower. The rooms have AC but not what you expect if you're from US, Their Wifi didn't work during our entire stay, the excuse was that it probably wasn't compatible with our phones. The staff was helpful, polite and friendly except for the lady working at the reception who couldn't smile if she tried.

Quiet hotel in the good location

We stayed in this hotel for three nights. The location is pretty good - 6-8min walk to metro station, quiet and surrounded by tons of cafes and restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The only downside in my opinion is that the room and bathroom are both very small.

The room was small and there was no wifi. There is only wifi if you're close to the lobby. If you book the 2 people option, be aware it's a smal space. Otherwise the room was clean and daily cleaning was on time and everyone was nice. Although we mentioned the wifi did not work, we essentially did not have any wifi for the 4 nights we stayed. It's very central however, close to Gare du Nord which takes you straight to the airport.

The facility is old and it indeed does not qualify for the 4*. I've been staying in 2-stars hotel in Paris which was better than this one. The hotel is \"tired\", rooms are small, it's cold in there, WIFI in the rooms does not work and staff doesn't care. This was my 3rd stay in Paris and the worst one so far. No go!

I loved my weekend stay at this little spot. It's a luxurious little hotel closely situated to major metro and bus lines. The room was charmingly decorated. Comfy bed, good coffee, everything you need. There are also good spots to eat nearby. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. This place really topped off the perfect weekend in Paris for me.

4 bags of rubble sat on the road outside the hotel for 3 days. The room I booked was no33 ( supposed to a premier room) . very petite. A tile was hanging of in the bathroom and it mentioned in the premier bathroom a \"rainfall shower\" . It was a hose of the tap. I asked if it was a premier room and was told yes. I'm still not convinced.

Have stayed here previously. Room was much better this time - a Club room which meant more space but they are still compact and bijou! Bed comfortable, mini bar and help yourself downstairs are the same price and not bad value considering. I like it, it has something about it that enhances your stay in a lovely city

We were unused to the room rates charged in Paris for comfortable accommodation, but based on its location, its staff and the quality of the rooms, we would say it was good value in comparison to other hotels. The elevator was TINY and only went as high as the 4th floor (our room was on the fifth), so the walking up and down floors was unexpected. Very impressed with the all the staff, pleasant and accommodating!

Very friendly and helpful reception staff . Our room was clean and nicely decorated , the bed was comfortable , there was a television , free Wi-fi , a fridge and air conditioning but NO tea/coffee making facilities ( very disappointing ) or drawers to put our clothes into , just a single wardrobe with a high up shelf. It all felt very cramped , if one person wanted to pass the bottom of the bed , the other person had to move out of the way. We only ate breakfast there once during a three night stay ; there isn't a proper dining area , more a lounge with low tables and a breakfast type bar that seated six people on high bar stools...................wasn't impressed with that at all. Whilst the breakfast was acceptable at the hotel , it was pricey and I found it an uncomfortable dining experience and so we ate out the other two mornings. If you want a evening meal there it is room service only ??? Not sure where you would be expected to eat it other than the breakfast area as there certainly wasn't the facilities in the room. There didn't appear to be a kitchen as such and so I assume they buy the food in. There is a lift that only accommodates two people at a time , failing to use that means getting to the upper floors by way of a steep spiral staircase.

Wonder Hotel!

Our stay was made more meaningful by the friendliness and helpfulness of the service staff. Special mention must be made of the front desk receptionist, Monsieur Narcisse, of Cameroon descent. He is a multilingualist, speaking his own African dialect, French, English, Italian and Spanish! His directions to places of interests and recommendations to cafés, brasserie and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel are almost flawless. We had a range of dining experience from the \"run-of-the-mill\" type to fine dining without paying CBD prices . For restaurants that require prior reservation, Monsieur Narcisse patiently scoured the Neighbourhood restaurants to get a table for us.

The hotel has a certain charm and ambience if it's own. It's a petite boutique hotel that has undergone a facelift. It readily caters to inbound tourists and business visitors,

What I like about the hotel is its location. Although in the Arrondissement 9, it is convenient to take the METRO to places of interests where many historical buildings and sights are located : the military museum at Invalides, Musée de l'Orangerie, Place de la Concorde, Musée D'Orsay etc. The metro station Cadet is 7 minutes walk from the hotel. It's line 7 will take you directly to the Musée Louvre or L'Opera within 20 mins. Moreover it takes about an hour trip by taking the metro line from station at Notre-Dame-de-Lorette (a neoclassical church) which is about 12 mins walk from the hotel to Gare St Lazarre from where you buy a train ticket to Versailles. The whole trip will take about an hour.

In the event you which to travel out of Paris to London, you can hop on to EUROSTAR train at the GARE du NORD ( a well appointed station and one of the six large terminus stations in Paris), which is 15 minutes walk from the hotel.

Carrefour is conveniently around the corner for your marketing needs. If you love freshly baked French bread, cookies, and pastries, the boulangerie and patisserie are also within arms length. You will be spoilt for choice.

Hotel Tour D'AUVERGNE deserves its 4-star rating for its friendliness, cleanliness, and its ideal location placed for easy access to many of Paris' most appealing attractions.

OMG!! I couldn't believe when they said air condition room means to open your windows!! And sound prove rooms mean your TV remote control volume is restricted to a certain volume and the room shower curtains were cut in half and they said they have in room safe, that was not true at all plus we have to leave our room key at the reception every time we leave the hotel. The only very nice reception there is Silvia she was very helpful and pleasant .

At first you are amused with the tiny reception desk and lift, but then you meet the clean, designed room and the friendly staff. Good location in 9th Arr. The problem is that usually the hotel is fully booked and therefore no option to choose or switch rooms if needed. In our case, we recieved a room on the upper floor although we asked for one on the lower floor, we also slept on an uncomfortable bed (not flat) during the whole vacation.

Paris is a one of the most beautiful city to visit and had a lot to offer.

We have enjoyed the location of the hotel and the metro system in paris, the metro station is close also is very easy to take the metro (RER B Line) from the air port, we did not need to take a taxi to go anywhere, it was more economical to use the system and you can go anywhere.

This hotel is perfectly located to get into the centre of Paris and to see all the sights. All of the staff where helpful and nothing was to much trouble. The room was well appointed and very clean. Although our room was on the ground floor and the window facing the road and footpath it was not a problem with any noise. Our room was room 2 and had a great walk in double shower.

We were on our honeymoon and booked for 3 nights at the hotel. We loved our quaint little room 55 on the fifth floor. The walls and ceiling were covered in a very \"cheeky\" fabric of naked ladies! Our room had everything we needed, a little mini bar fridge came in really handy. The bathroom was lovely, tiled in complimentary grey and blue tiles, it even had a sky light. It was very hot in Paris, above 30 degrees, so we were quite happy to have a cool room to come home to after seeing the sites all day (except for the one day that the housekeeper turned off the A/C, it took about an hour for the room to cool down!). The front desk staff were quite helpful with giving us directions. The lobby was the coolest area of the hotel, a lovely place to sit and chill, the staff always offered us drinks so I guess the lobby doubled as a bar. The Wifi was very sketchy, the connection would be lost every few minutes and you had to fully log in ever time. The area the hotel is situated in was great, there was a grocery store, boulangerie and pharmacy less than a block away. We were about three blocks from the Metro and rue Layfayette which is a major street with tons of restaurants to choose from. Overall, we were pleased with our choice of the hotel and would recommend it to other couples.

Lovely little hotel with the charms of old Paris. - very tiny elevator and winding stairs - add to the charm. The room was very clean and well maintained. It is a little off the beatedn tourist path, but once we got used to where we were in relationship to the metro and major streets, it is a very nice nieghbood to walk around. You get the real feel of Paris life, it's street fruit and vegetable markets, wonderful pastries, cheese shops, and of course a chocolate shop on every block. And yet, no fat French people !

My wife and I spent just 1 night here as we transitted through Paris to return to The States. For our purposes it was perfect. Small hotel and small public space but the public space was comfortable and they served a very nice breakfast. Our room was reasonable size and comfortable. The hotel is well located if you want to visit Monmarte but don't want to stay there. It is also located between 2 busy railroad stations which makes it very convenient for travel into and out of Paris.

After you get your key, you will be hit by the smallness of the lift. We have to make multiple trips in order to move ourselves and the luggages to the room. when we reach our room level, we have to find the light switch otherwise the corridor is dark and narrow. we struggled because of many luggages. Inside the room, it is still small because of too many luggages. I turned on the heater but don't seem like working (may 2013), does not bother me. The bath tub has repair marks but does not bother me. other than that, everything else is okay. the staffs are approachable and do as they were told. the bar and the sofa areas look comfortable but we never make use. the location of the hotel is near (5 to 15 minutes) to at least 2 subway stations, 1 of them is a major station. 5 minutes walk to mac donalds for 5 eur breakfast. restaurants, convenient stores and laundry shops are nearby. narrow road, maybe not accessible by big buses.

Good Personalized Service

It's a small quaint boutique hotel in a very good location - within walking distance of Gare du Nord and a number of Metro stations. A Carrefour, rotisserie, bakeries and numerous restaurants are located 1 - 2 mins away from the hotel. It is also near the area of Montmartre where famous French artists like Dalí, Picasso and van Gogh used to have studios. Also near the Basilica of the Sacré Cœur. Amelie was partly filmed on location in this area of Monmarte. Minor complaints are the uneven size of rooms (depends on luck I guess) and the really really small lift (only fits 1 person and 1 luggage). There's free wifi but requires constant logging-in which is a bit annoying really. But can't fault the service provided by the friendly hotel staff.

Very comfortable room, but scetchy area.

Spent a Saturday night there on a last minute trip to Paris. The hotel was about a ten minute walk from Nord station. The staff spoke English clearly, and check-in went smoothly. The hallways were almost pitch black at night, my wife said that she would not have felt comfortable by herself. The room was a good size, especially for European standards. The bed was extremely comfortable. So much so that we almost missed our train back to London! The neighborhood was not the best, but only really felt that was late at night. Spent some time during the day at a nearby cafe and was fine, but when we took a cab home late that night, we were glad we didn't decide to walk home. Overall, we recommend the hotel. The location is convenient if you are taking the train from London, and the room is very nice. Would definitely stay again.

The only small problem with the hotel is the lift it is tiny bearly big enough for one person and a suit case and we only took one medium case.
But other than that it is excellent.
We had a lovely room nice size lovely bathroom and in a good location.

Excellent 9th Arr hotel, highly recommended

The hotel De la Tour D'Auvergne is a boutique hotel, just north of the city centre. The staff were excellent, spoke very good English and happy to advise on where to go out / eat etc. The hotel was very clean and well decorated in the reception and breakfast area (although a minor point was that the stair carpets could do with a some work). The room was not large - but then very few are in Paris - but was in perfect condition, well maintained and with a great bathroom. The Gare de Nord was approximately a 10 minute walk away, great if arriving by Eurostar. The Metro (line 7) was also less than 10 minutes and took you down to the Louvre or to Châtelet just north of Notre Dame Cathedral. The hotel was also handy for visiting the Pigalle and Montmatre areas, which were also 10-15 minutes walk away. In summary a great little hotel, with great staff in a good location.

We'd stay here again

We stayed at La Tour for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our room was spacious by European standards, quiet, very clean, had a beautiful bathroom and shower and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We had easy access to the Metro and numerous nice restaurants. For the price, we couldn't ask for more.

Excellent value for money. We had a two day package at a special price. Room very nicely decorated. Staff accommodating and pleasant. Would recommend to friends. Didn't sample breakfasts as one evening two cups of tea at hotel cost us over 11 euros. Gave refreshments a miss after that! But good food outlets available all round hotel so we used those.

Perfect location & accommodation - will be back!

10 minute walk from Gare du Nord, 10-15 minutes walk from Opera where we had tickets for the ballet on the evening we arrived - all went very smoothly. Staff on arrival weren't really as friendly as they could have been but they weren't rude and the 2 different members of staff we met the following day were just lovely and extremely helpful. Kept our suitcase during the day when we'd checked out. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment - plenty of local cafes where good breakfasts were available more cheaply. Air conditioning worked perfectly well but we turned it off when we went to bed because of the noise and left the windows open - were woken by very early morning noise in the street, as we were at the front of the hotel, but was fine when we closed the windows! Didn't feel rushed at all to vacate our room which was a welcome change and the room was well presented, clean and comfortable. Bathroom small but fine for us as we're not huge, shower worked well. Would definitely book here again.

Nice find!

From other reviews, I expected a small room and it was by American standards. However, it was very clean and well maintained. My daughter and I were both in Paris for the first time and there were too many things we wanted to do to spend time in a hotel. The beds and pillows were comfortable, the location very convenient to the metro and bus services and the staff friendly and helpful! While I would stay in a different area on a future trip for the experience, I certainly would recommend this hotel. There is a lovely restaurant around the corner called Odette and Amie....great food and quaint atmosphere at a reasonable price!

The hotel is a good example of what one would expect from this class/level of hotel in a city area.
Staff very friendly; reception adequate; bar/minibar available.
5-10 mins from the nearest metro and down/uphill to get there/back. Sacre Coeur 15-20 min walk. Gare du Nord 20 min walk. None of this a problem for anyone who doesn't mind walking.
Adequate restaraunts (one very good one) and bars within walking distance.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The staff was very helpful with giving us suggestions for dinner, provided us with a map & places that are \"must sees\". The breakfast very scrumptous! Well worth including in your reservation. The fresh croissants & coffee, fruit, etc. was delicious. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. I would stay there again should we revisit Paris.

A great hotel in the heart of the city

This was a gorgeous hotel right in the heart of Paris, a ten minute walk to the Sacre Coeur, and Gare du Nord. Every room is different so it was exciting to see which one we would get. The overall feel was a great mix of vintage and modern, and everything was very cosy and clean. Very comfortable and luxurious. Close to the Metro and shops. Highly recommended.

Excellent small hotel - great service and location

I took my wife to Paris for her birthday, and couldn't have expected a better service: I contacted the day before and they were extremely helpful and professional. The rates were good, the room we stayed in was small but clean and well done up, the staff was always ready to help us and spoke good English. The location is very good, very close to Gare du Nord, so convenient for Eurostar passengers and Metro/RER; it's a nice walk down to the main attractions and just a short walk to the Sacre Coeur. I thought the breakfast was a bit overpriced, but there are lots of authentic bars and boulangeries around. A very good experience!
