This hotel was advertised as having cribs (subject to availability, of course) so I was very surprised upon checking in to be told they never had any. The staff was at least nice, and while I think she was trying to help us by putting us in different a room to better accommodate our 12-month old, it ended up being a terrible stay. The room was quite dirty (baby's hands and feet were visibly dirty after crawling around), the curtain rod was broken off leaving no window coverings, the small second bed was all bumpy with seemingly broken slats, and the shower did not drain properly. I'm talking wash your hair and maybe soap up your body before needing to turn the water off and wait for it to drain enough so that you can rinse off without it flooding. The main double bed was rock solid, and we typically like a firm mattress but it was a terrible sleep — even though we brought our own pillows. I will say, it was a good location, which between that and the nice staff, is the only reason I'm not giving it 1 star. Avoid if you are travelling with a young family.

You get what you pay for, though to be honest this was overpriced. This was old and dated but clean and staff were friendly. Clean towels daily.
Bathroom has hairdryer, shower gel and shampoo. Plenty of plugs in the room and a fan. No kettle. Breakfast not worth the money but McDonalds, KFC and Burger King all very close.

Staff were very rude and unhelpful for my brief stay. It was the worst I’ve ever been treated by hotel staff.

I actually witnessed a staff member yelling at a teenage girl who was a guest who just asked him a question. Maybe he was having a bad day but there is no excuse.

The rooms are low quality but this might be more standard for the area. Be mindful that the area itself is quite loud so sleep may be impacted.

There are many hotels in the area that are cheaper or the same price. I stayed at one that was a few minutes walk for the same price and was so much better. I won’t stay here again and do not recommend this place.

it had beautiful pictures of the front and the inside of the hotel it wasn't that bad but nothing like the pictures the area was very busy with traffic and people all around it which i thought for the day it was normal but it was like that 24 hours the traffic was so bad police sirens going on and ambulance too every few minutes at night we had to sleep with the windows opened because of the hot wheather no airconditioning so we had to it didnt really helped but the noice all over all nigjt it was horrible!!

I stayed 2 nights, first day the hot water wasn't hot enough to take shower but second day it was ok.
Floor wasn't clean (stain and black points on the carpet in the room). Also there were no slippers provided.
Matterss was terrible I got backache. There was a big curve right in the middle of it.
The hotel doesnt have a lobby or a waiting lounge. I got there 2 hours before check-in time and I was asked to leave the hotel and come back in 2 hours, however I was allowed to leave my luggage in the hotel.
The lift is so small that only 1 person with a large size luggage can fit in.
Location is good close to trian station and subway.

Worst Hotel experience of my life!!

I stayed at this hotel for 1 night because it was next to the train station….that is the ONLY good thing about this hotel. Everything else was terrible. The lady at the front desk was very unfriendly, almost rude. The first room she gave me was a single that hadn’t been updated since the 1970s at least but the worst part is that the floor had holes and dips in it only covered by carpet. When I went downstairs to request a move to a room without holes, she told me that all of the rooms are like that because its an old building. I called Hotels.com customer service to request a refund but after speaking with the property, the same lady said a different room was available with flat floors so I was moved. The second room had been slightly updated and was better but you can tell they don’t care about the property at all.

The 1 elevator was soooo small and slow. You could barely fit your luggage in there with you. Plus, the elevator was located mid-way up the flight of stairs so you had to carry your luggage up 4 steps to even use it which made it pretty pointless.

The bowl of the sink in the deluxe room is way to small so that when you wash hands or face, it doesn’t actually catch the water and water ends up all over the floor and front of the cabinet. This is probably why the bathroom smells moldy.

Everything about this place was disgusting, old, and unkept. Hotels.com should NOT have this property listed on its site. I have stayed in better roadside motel

Good value hotel in a good location.

We arrived as a group of 4, we had booked 4 separate rooms and arrived at 11pm. We stayed one night. The reception was manned on arrival which was really helpful for us. The rooms are small but with a good use of space, bedding and bathrooms were very clean. Slept well. Beds were a good size and on suite bathrooms were fab.
Reception were knowledgeable and helpful on arrival and leaving.
Really useful location by the metro station for travelling around Paris.
Really good price and we would stay again.

The gentleman at the reception was very welcoming and friendly. The room was clean and with all the basic essentials but without luxuries. It was perfect for me, who had been looking for an affordable hotel to stay overnight before moving on by train. Gare de l'Est is within easy walking distance, just 5 minutes away. There are several small restaurants and cafés near by.

The location was very convenient near the train station, but keep in mind that's not the most safe/best area in Paris. The host was rude. The sheets were not clean!! We lifted the comfort to find hairs and dust on the first sheet and on the mattress there were red dots which I can only assume to be from bed bugs....thankfully we only had 2 nights.

Location was great for station and metro and within walking distance of Monmarte and sacre court. Lots of great restaurants within 10 minutes walking distance and There is also a great market on the next street.
You have to see the room as what you pay for.... a bed to sleep in!!( and even then it wasn’t really a queen size bed and the mattress was in a poor state, it dipped in the middle making sleeping uncomfortable) the room we were in was extremely small, needing crab like movements to inch your way around the bed, but looking at the floor plans there were larger rooms. We had a lovely view of a church from our window( but there is no chance of a cheeky siesta as the bells ring every 15 minutes!!!)
The free WiFi probably worked for about ten minutes during our four day stay ( not sure if this was because we were on the top floor ?!?)
The private bathroom is not recommended for couples just starting out, as the door is just a piece of thick plastic that folds as you push it back, if you are not used to each other’s bodily sounds this could make you feel uncomfortable!!! The shower in the room was fabulous, great water pressure and hot!!

The room was very small, smaller than expected. We wasn’t aware that the doors lock at 1am and was told we can not go out because of that. When we checked in the receptionist never made mention of it.We also had to give our key in when we left the hotel. We never saw any fire exits which my partner was concerned about and the elevator is the smallest I have ever seen. Therefore we walked three flights of steps to our room. I don’t think I will return to this hotel. If you need it to stay for one night then that’s ok but more than that is unlikely.

If you're looking for just a place to sleep that is convenient, then this hotel offers that as it is very close to the station at an affordable price and hotel staff were friendly, but sadly the hotel was very outdated and uncomfortable. The lift could barely fit 2 people (it's smaller than a w/c). The carpet looked worn and unclean (we laid out towels across the floor to walk on instead). The bathroom was falling apart with some areas appearing to break into black mould, plus the sink makes a loud screeching sound everytime you turn it on. Many of the light bulbs in the room did not work, leaving the room fairly dark.

Pros. The shower. The location to the train stations. The cleanliness of the room.
Cons. The lift was very small. The bathroom was small and hard to move around. If you don’t like noise from outside. That’s about it. Not one of those bugged me as all I want is a clean room and location. The shower was an added bonus. Would recommend if you aren’t somebody that needs to be looked after

A disappointing experience

The rooms here are a little dated, but for the price that is to be expected. However, what we did not expect was the rooms to be dirty or to smell of smoke.

We were travelling as a group and had booked 4 rooms here, 2 of the 4 were adequate. However 1 of the rooms smelled of smoke and needed to be aired out for the duration of our 2 days there to attempt to get rid of the smell. Another room was dirty, had flies in it, and was missing a shower door.

Both these rooms were offered a change, however the room offered was so small it would not fit their suitcases in it as well as them.

The room with the flies changed hotel in the end but we're not offered a refund in any way. We will be contacting expedia about this.

Some of the members of staff attempted to be helpful, however one gentleman was very rude and very confrontational for the duration of our stay. He rudely refused us a place to store our luggage on our last day after checkout, when other members of our group were offered this by a different member of staff.

Overall I wouldn't recommend staying here, even for the price.

Hotel in Front of Paris Est (central) Station.

The room was old and small but clean and cozy. From the window of my room, I could see the upper portion of the bell tower of the Paris Est Station. The hotel is located right in front of the Paris central station. The water pressure in the shower was excellent. The female receptionist was very helpful. I suggest that they provide their guests with 8 cloth hangers instead of 2. I like the location of this hotel and highly recommend it.

The room was so old, dingy and the floor was uneven. The beds were comfy but the sheet acted as the pillow case- odd. The elevator was so tiny you could barely fit a suitcase, let alone a stroller. However, on the upside the staff were very kind and helpful.

Dont let the name fool you, consider it more ironic. The place was basic and tidy. I took my gf here for her 25th birthday and paid for a queen bed and a view. What we got was a view on to a main road (no air con and so with the doors open we couldnt sleep with the noise and with the doors shut it was too hot) and a double bed. The lady at reception kindly let us check into our room an hour early but upon seeing our room and smelling it, we were disgruntled. We spoke with the lady on the front desk whomoffered to let us check into a different room for 60 euros more. As expected, we were frustrated at the prospect of paying more money for a room we were already expecting. According to the woman on the front desk, i had booked a \"basic room\" and the queen bed was definately a queen bed. I can confirm, it was not a queen size bed. What i will say, the bathroom was nice. Things got stranger when we went to leave the hotel and the receptionist insisted we left our room key. I didnt realise that was a thing guests did. We were left with little choice as the receptionist insisted they only had one key to each room. Oddly enough, the cleaner entered our room earlier that day (when we were sleeping in our underwear because the room was too god damn hot) to put in some toilet room. I can only assume she magically transported through the door rather than use a second key. I would pay to stay else where. There did appear to be a lovely Ibis hotel just round the corner.

Clean, but not the greatest location and service

Our room was small but nice and clean. The are however made it almost impossible to sleep well. It was hot with no AC in the hotel (and the front desk said they did not have any fans available (understandable), so we were going to sleep with the window open. Not a chance. Police cars were flying by with sirens blasting every 5 minuets and a bus stop was right outside our window. The buses ideling every 15 mins or so was incredibly loud, and the people walking around until the early morning hours were loud as well. The bed was smaller than expected, and even though it was advertised with free wifi, we were never able to get wifi signal in our room. We could get very slow acess right underneath the extender, and access by the front desk, but we ended up going to a restaurant every night if we needed internet access (the staff didn’t seem to care that we couldn’t get signal and didn’t even look into the issue). This hotel was also a no smoking area, but the guests and staff would smoke right outside the front door... and leave the doors open. So all the smoke drifted through the entire hotel. Again, the space was nice, but that was about all.

Terrible hotel They tried to rob me. AVOID!!!!

I stayed at this hotel for one night. It is more like a hostel. There are no double locks on the door so anyone can walk in. There are no cameras either. The sheets feel itchy and this was an overall horrific experience. There was threee instances of people walking into my room unannounced. One was a maid to clean the room which was weird because my room was clean when I checked in. The two random guys come in to check the fire alarms. The fire alarm were not even on so I knew that was a scam and then again laying down at night someone else walked in unannounced but idk who it was. They say you need to leave your key card at the hotel when u leave for the day but it’s only to know that you are gone so they can rob you. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

It was so bad that I checked in, looked @ the room, & checked out! I've had good luck with al of my other Expedia bookings, so I was surprised! The room was so small, the I could barely get my suitcase inside. It was very worn & noisy, dark, & felt unsafe. My view was of a cement wall, Their elevator was clausterphobic.I barely fit in, with my suitcase. You could not get out, if there was a fire, etc.

When I asked @ the front desk for a refund, they said the I had to go through Expedia. As I had booked for a week's stay, my bill was $560. Please take this hotel OUT of your listings; terrible!

Quick trip to Paris!

Hotel is very basic and shower was broken - no shower door. I know it was cheap but for what I got I’d expect cheaper than the price they gave. The only plus is that the location is spot on to get around Paris

Service was good from the people who wanted to work well - the ones that didn't provided arguments rather than service. I travel a lot also for business and don't pretend anything - certainly not at three starts which I chose myself

Terrible stay & disgusting cigarette smell in room

We had a terrible experience at the Grand Hotel de Paris. Our room was on the sixth floor and the smell in the halls and our room was terrible. The rooms are supposed to be non smoking but ours smelt like somebody was chainsmoking cigarettes right by our side. The bedding was also terrible. Our room did not have proper pillows, but instead had a pillow roll (with no pillow case, just the bed sheet wrapped around it) which was very uncomfortable. The comforter was very thin and the material cheap. The bathroom was full of grout, hadn’t been properly cleaned, especially in the shower. The wifi was also terrible as we were not even able to load photos on our cellphone (each photo took around 2 minutes to load). The wifi code they provide downstairs only works for one device, so we couldn’t use it for both our cellphones and our laptop. I booked this hotel because we only had to stay for one night and it was close to Gare du Nord, but I should never have. It was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had and I would never recommend it, even for one night.

Cheap place to sleep close to metro.

Good location. About 40 metro from metro. Area not too posh. Tout and pick pocketers looking people in area but no one touched us. Can be a bit scary for first time visiters for the first few hours.hotel cheap and good for tourist who just want a place to sleep.walking distance to le mareis and notradam.hotel receptionist helpful. Will stay there again.

OK hotel with a great location

The hotel was ok. It was old but mostly clean, although the room kind of smelled. For the price though, it was a great deal and I would stay there again. It was really easy to find and in a really good location.

For low budget in Paris, it's the best you'll get.

The minimum requirement when you want to pay as little as possible (and not go to a hostel or a hotel where you share a bathroom) is a good bed, not too small a room, fresh but simple decor, cleanliness, a good shower and no noise. This hotel has all that. I've stayed in a lot of these bottom price hotels in Paris and this one is a head above them all, while being the cheapest (at least at the time I booked). The service is reassuringly forgettable and the breakfast is below average, as even the worst hotel with smelly carpets have nespresso type coffee machines, and this one has just filtered coffee soup. But you really don't need to have breakfast there, with all the cafés around. And of all the tiny comedy lifts these cheap Parisien hotels have, this one takes the crown!

if you're looking for somewhere dirt cheap just for a roof over your head in Paris, then this hotel is fine. but honestly I wouldn't stay here again, the building as a whole is extremely old, the elevator makes a very loud banging noise which was obviously going quite frequently and disturbed my sleep several times during my time there, the door to the room I had got stuck on the carpet so it was very hard to open and close, and I just generally felt very uneasy and uncomfortable the entire time. Not to mention the pillows they gave me were like someone had balled up three pairs of socks and stuffed them in a European sized pillow case and tried to pass it off as comfortable. definitely won't be staying here again, i think i'll just save up and book a nicer hotel next time.

Very close to rail and metro

A good sized clean room minutes from gard de nord and l'est stations and metro.
I had a queen sized bedroom and had plenty of space. The first room I had near the tiny lift was noisy due to the clicking sound of the lift though, so I was moved to a front street room which was perfect.
Very nice friendly staff.

The only problem was the church next to it and you can here the bels so lowd couldn't sleep very bad 😢
