The property itself is nice. Rooms are small but manageable. Staff are all great!! Shower great. Clean rooms. The rooms do not have AC so in hot weather you will melt in the room, you can get a fan though which helps. Again in hot weather if you buy any water etc it gets warm fast it would be great if there was a small fridge. The surrounding area I didnt really like didn’t feel 100% safe but saying that we had no issues. You have to leave your key card with reception when you leave for a day out and request it back when you arrive back at hotel… the concerning part is you ask for the key card and they hand it to you, you do not have to show ID, this is concerning as anyone could ask for your key card and have access to your room, sure the reception might remember you but if you leave a key card with one receptionist and return and it’s a different one you haven’t seen before and they just hand you it it’s definitely concerning and they should maybe just let you leave with the card or ask for ID.

Great location, adequate service.

The room was clean, had fresh towels and ready on arrival. We only popped by to leave luggage. Bonus points.
The chap on the desk was polite, but no interaction.
The noise at 11pm was ridiculous, there’s a sign on the door to respect neighbours after 10pm, we were ground floor, young family.
But other guests were outside our room, smoking and chatting very loudly.
We chose this hotel for the location as we had an early train the next morning.
Location perfect.

We wanted an inexpensive hotel that was convenient for Gare du Nord and this is exactly what we got. If you are looking for a quintessential Parisian experience with elegant Haussman buildings, you won't find it here. This is a very African / North African area with lots of shops with interesting colourful vegetables and a few minutes walk from the Bassin de Villette, which is a lovely huge canal basin surrounded by restaurants. The Stalingrad metro is a couple of minutes walk from the hotel, though if you want line 5, avoid the nearest entrance to the hotel, as you have to traverse a narrow staircase freely used as a pissoir! We had a room at the back of the hotel which was very quiet; it might be noisier if your room was at the front. The hotel was extremely clean and staff were helpful. Overall a good experience.

I never usually leave reviews, but I felt compelled after this experience. The area around the hotel felt extremely unsafe, and we were uncomfortable from the moment we arrived.

What made it worse was the hotel’s policy — we had to leave our key card at reception every time we left, and they locked the main door. I can only wonder why they ask for this...

The room itself was in poor condition: stained sheets, no hand soap, towels that were far too small, and lights that either didn’t work or made loud noises.

We ended up leaving early and booking elsewhere. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone — it’s just not worth the risk.

This is a wonderful hotel conveniently located a short walk to Stalingrad station. A great bakery close by that we visited daily. It did not seem like the safest part of town, so we made sure we weren’t out late. This worked fine for us since we didn’t want to stay out late anyway, but may be a difficult situation for people who enjoy the Paris nightlife.

Easy and inexpensive accesss to Gare Du Nord.

This hotel was used to have easy access for car hire from Gare Du Nord. The original walk from Gare Du Nord after our plane trip and then train was 25 mins to the hotel. It was raining. Easy walk, and when we reached hotel it had friendly staff and a lift to get us to level 1. Please note hotel was a 2 star, and priced accordingly, yet all was perfect,comfortable and clean. Very good. The area was of African nationality and we had an enjoyable meal at a local Mali restuarant. All was safe and people pleasant. The next morning had a lovely hotel breakfast. Then return trip to pick up rent a car at Gare Du Nord. No problems with hotel and would be pleased to stay again, only complaint, my wife would like a full length mirror in room and certainly the toilet seat bedded down more securely.

Nice place, bit basic - but TERRIBLE area

This is a really hard place to rate - the hotel is ok, a little basic, but trying very hard to please. However, the area it is in is abysmal.
We booked it quickly without much research, mostly based on hotels.com rating of 7.4/10, and we arrived about 9pm on a July weekday with two small kids. There were drug dealers operating openly just down the street and about a 100 metres or so from the entrance 20+ homeless people living on stained mattresses under the overpass of Stalingrad tube station. The street was quite rowdy and did not feel safe. Thus, the hotel kept its front door locked and buzzed you in. We had to go out to eat, and walked about 20 mins south to get away from the worst of the area, but halfway through our meal a wild-haired and unwashed man leaned through the open window of the restaurant, naked to the waist and clearly stoned, asking for money. When I said no (I had only cards on me) he turned away and we saw the four open sores on his back, each about 2 inches wide. Not easy to explain to my kids. I have travelled regularly for my work for the last 17 years and have stayed in a wide variety of places, but can't recall ever staying anywhere more rough.
The hotel is trying hard, and is ok - but do not come here in the evening with children. I think the surprisingly high 7.4/10 review comes about because the hotel are trying so hard, and there is no question asked here by hotels.com about the area the hotel is in, hence my middle voting all the way.

Surprisingly modern hotel in outer area of Paris

Great hotel for our family’s last night in France. Easy to get to from the Stalingrad metro station,so it was convenient to both Gare de l’est as we came in from eastern France and Gare du Nord the next morning when we headed to the CDG airport. Very spacious rooms, and when we booked a room with three beds for our family we actually got two adjoining rooms, one with a large queen bed and a twin and one with two twins, which also meant we had two bathrooms! Such a bonus for our family of four at the end of our two week trip. The rooms and bathrooms were very modern in decor and features, and the beds were the most comfortable of our whole trip (and maybe even the most comfortable of any of our trips in France) The optional breakfast was convenient and had more than just the traditional French pastries, bread and coffee - the slices of cheese and ham and the yogurts added protein that my Keto husband much appreciated. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only thing that keeps me from giving all super happy smiley faces was neighborhood, which is sort of mixed ethnic and more urban feeling than neighborhoods more in the center of Paris, But to be honest even that wasn’t a problem once we settled in. We never felt unsafe and my husband and son walked down the street to the Himalayan/Asian restaurant to get takeout (definitely a great addition to the neighborhood). We would definitely stay there again if we were needing to stay outside of the inner arrondiments of Paris.

A pleasant stay at Reims Hotel.

The Reims Hotel staff were all thoroughly pleasant and very helpful. We were able to drop off our bags before checkin, and pick up later in the day having checked out. This made our visit much easier without having to take bags around. Hotel is well placed for access to all transport links. We didn't feel 'comfortable' coming back to the Hotel later than 21:00, although security measures taken by the hotel made you feel very safe. The room was clean and adequate for our needs, fresh towels provided everyday. Housekeeping did an excellent job. The only draw back were the very firm mattresses, we would have preferred something a little softer especially after a long day walking round Paris sightseeing. Wi-fi reception was good.

The hotel was fine, but the walls were paper thin. We could hear every sound (talking, coughing, etc) from the neighbors all night. I likely wouldn’t return just for that. The noises were so clear that it made us leery of making any sounds or. Ovenwnta for fear of disturbing the other guests.

The hotel was very clean and updated. Lobby is staffed 24 hours with locked door that you get buzzed into so we felt very safe staying there. The staff was welcoming and helpful with our stay and storing our luggage while we toured before and after our stay. The room was a little hot for some and fine for other. A TV is provided but only had French subtitles so we couldn’t really watch shows easily.

Ok Room On Paris Budget...BUT!!

I booked the room based on the reviews of other vacationers + the affordable cost considering it's Paris. Other hotels were going for $300+ a night vs. this one $200.

My overall stay at the Reims Hotel was average overall. The room itself was clean and the beds (2 doubles) were ok as one of the bed was a cott and not a true bed. Ok, fine. The front desk service people were friendly and helpful when asked questions about shops nearby.

However, that said, our stay started off on the wrong foot. Our check in was at 2 pm but the room was not ready. Ok, delays happen no big deal. What really went downhill was that we did not have wi-fi connection four our ENTIRE 2 day stay!! And the worst part was that the day desk person, Caroline, kept giving excuses about technical problems and how it wasn't their fault that the internet connection was non-existent....how is it NOT the hotel's fault????...we had to walk 3-4 blocks to other restos/places to try and get free public wi-fi connection.

When we checked out I asked her if we would be compensated for the fact that we were in a foreign city and obviously needed internet connection to help us navigate/plan our stay in Paris and surprise she refused to take responsibility and offer any assistance whatsoever.

Stay here only if you are in desperate need for accommodation BUT without professionalism and WI-FI!

First of location, location, location. 2 minute walk to Stalingrad Metro station and you have access to the whole city. Very close to Gare Du Nord, which if you take the train from CDG, you'll arrive there. Staff is very friendly and all speak English, but if you want to practice your French, never a bad time to start. Room itself is small, but very comfortable. Nice shower, nice bathroom, for the ladies a hair dryer. I do recommend getting their breakfast, its only 8 euros a day. Europe is very expensive, and even 8 euros is a bargain. This is not a hotel in what you would be used to in America, however, if you go to Paris to hang out in your hotel room, Reims is not for you. I would definitely stay again when I am in Paris, and would recommend to everyone who enjoys simple comfort, and great location.

Very affordable & clean hotel with a great staff. Not located in a heavily touristy area, but very easy to reach the center via metro. As I was in Paris for work, the hotel was situated one block from our meeting room, but also quite close to the North and East Train stations, which may be of interest for people looking to stay near these major transport hubs.

Although the hotel seems out of the way, the centre is just 20 mins away by metro. There are nice places to go and eat or drink near the canal. Also as the hotel is being renovated the rooms are new and seemed like they'd never been used. The building works however do not affect the stay as it's only during the day and the room is further from that area anyway. Overall great experience and excellent value for money in Paris. Would definitely stay there again

The hotel has an ideal localization being just 5 minutes walking from the subway, and you are connected with all the city super fast! There's a very good store with very friendly people just 2 minutes away from the hotel in the same direction of the metro and you can get milk, water, soft drinks, candies etc. the room was nice and very clean and the staff is friendly. The heating system and the internet worked excellently.

QUALITY OF HOTEL

For cheap Reims isn't bad. There are a few things I wasn't happy with, it would have been nice to have been provided with an electric kettle and cups. Parking turned out to be very expensive, I would never take a car again unless parking is part of the package. I must admit though I liked the Reims, next time I would check out a more up-market hotel that provides breakfasts etc, because by the time we paid for these things there didn't seem to be a great deal of difference in some of the prices. Having said that it really depends on how long I would want to stay.

This hotel was in a bad location, metro was close however it was 30 mins to get to city center. The surrounding area was very dirty and it did not feel safe. The rooms were small and not clean. I asked for double bed and got two seperate twin beds. The shower was broke and not at all clean, I had a horrible night of sleep (what I did get). I only stayed for one night but was charged for three, I do not recommend this hotel!!!

Had no issues with the staff and the hotel was close to the Metro which is what i wanted BUT I did not feel safe at all in this neighborhood. Room was very small with no AC to speak off which meant that the room was to hot to get a good night sleep. Asked for a fan which didn't help and when i tried to open the window the smell and noise from out side just made it harder to sleep. People were on the street till 3/4am the whole time I was there (3nights in totle) and the smell of urine was everywhere outside. I would not stay here again

The bathroom is so small that you have to sit sideways, as the front of the toilet is only a couple of inches away from the shower stall.

We complained and they have us a different room, after much grumbling. The new room was the same, so it wasn't that we got a lemon room. It is a lemon hotel.

We left after one night instead of the six we reserved. It took me that one night to book a proper hotel (Holiday Inn Montparnesse - recommended)

I travel on a budget 10+ weeks each year in Europe. This is the worst place I have stayed. The next runner up was a fleabag hotel in Barcelona, but at least that was in a good area.

Clean room, very close to Metro.

We spent two nights here, it isn't as bad as some of the reviews it has received. Friendly staff and really close to the metro (exit 3). The room was cleaned each day and we had no problems at all. The area may make some people a little nervous as it isn't really in 'tourist Paris'. Its more of a working class area but again, we had no problems. There is a nice bakery next door and a little cafe on the corner. For the price and its location to the metro is is worth it. Travelers with a bigger budget could obviously something something more upmarket but this suited all of our needs.

No problems with the hotel or staff, handy to the metro. Room was small but very clean. Bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in, in any hotel.If you are a single woman I would not advise you to stay in this area as it is very unsafe at night, day time is Ok. This Hotel was not at all like it was advertised. It was hot and the AC didn't work. The room was smelly. The owner had a party outside our window and they were noisy and smoking and filling our room with cigarette smoke until 3am. Do not go here. It was a nightmare. They didn't speak good English. They were not workable or helpful.

La segunda noche de mi estancia, por ahi de las 11pm intentaron ingresar a mi habitacion, estando mis hijos y yo adentro, quisieron abrir la puerta que comunica los cuartos y al no poder lo intentaron con la principal, el encargado de recepción dijo no haberse dado cuenta de nada, justificando que pudo haber sido un error, el barrio donde se encuentra es inseguro

The staff at the hotel was friendly. The price for the accommodation was reasonable. The breakfast buffet was adequate for the price and sufficiently filling. The metro is near. Quiet area, traffic in front of the hotel not disturbing. We would stay there with pleasure again.

Un bon rapport qualité prix

Un hôtel très propre, le personnel est agréable et rendant service. Les chambres sont peut être un peu petites mais équipées correctement et avec une bonne literie. Il manque éventuellement un plateau avec café, thé... Il ne faut pas s'arrêter au quartier

parisin merkezindeki oteller çok pahalı. bu otelin fiyatına göre merkeze olan uzaklığı gayet iyi. bulunduğu mahalle geceleri tehlikeli gibi görünse de aslında öyle değil. resepsiyondaki erkek çalışanlar güleryüzlü. yatak rahat, banyo temiz ancak oda çok tozlu. parmağınızı kıpırdatdanıs toz uçar. ilk gittiğimiz gün asansör bozuktu ve 5.kattaki odamıza valizleri dar merdivenlerden çıkarmak zorunda kaldık. daha sonra tamir edildi neyseki. çok daha iyi otel isteniyorsa daha çok para verilmesi gerektiğini kabul eden birisiyim. vasat değil, idare eder.

O Hotel é limpinho e reformado, mas fica numa região muito perigosa, com moradores de rua acampados na estação do metrô. Ficamos hospedadas 3 noites, eu e minha filha, tivemos que voltar cedo todos os dia, pois ficamos com medo de andar pelo bairro.

We were really glad to stay there. Staff was really helpful from the booking until with kindly keeping our luggage after check in. Highlight to the recepcionist Mohamed, who was always very proactive. The cleaning service is perfect and the room is small but extremely comfortable. Only bad thing to say is that the neighborhood is not exaclty equal to what we expect to the touristic paris. However, the pizza restaurant close to there is good and has an amazing price (waaaay better than the restaurants close to the main attractions). Subway station is only few blocks away. Very good value for paris. Hope to stay there again.

Posizione comoda per visitare la città e ben collegata al centro con la Metro a soli 300mt dall’hotel. Quartiere con maggioranza di popolazione africana comunque tranquillo e decisamente accettabile. Hotel con personale gentile e disponibile, pulito e confortevole senza troppe pretese ma valido. Ho passato 5 notti.

El poco tiempo que estubimos en la habitación, la encontramos bastante bien, limpia, personal del Hotel de trato agradable, y situado cerca de la estación de metro de Estalingrado donde confluyen dos lineas de metro.
La única pega, recpcionista no habla español (ni el viajero francés)

Établissement qui ne paye pas de mine avec un quartier très animé j'ai étais surpris par la qualité de l’hôtel , bonne accueil , chambre propre et calme (insonorisé) lit très correcte , le moins douche très petite et manque porte savon,voyageur seul je recommande ah !!! oui j'ai oublier je suis aller voir l'expo Toutankhamon et j'y suis aller à pied .

Personnel accueillant et cadre sympathique. Chambre agréable et confortable. Je regrette l'absence de chauffage d'appoint dans la salle d'eau, c'est plutôt frais le matin en hiver.
Petit-déjeuner correct (8 €), des fruits frais entiers seraient un plus.
