Hotel Franq is my first choice when I am in Antwerp—a small, beautiful, and tastefully decorated boutique hotel with excellent service. The rooms are very nice and clean, and very quiet for a hotel in the city center.

Liked this hotel and would stay there again. However next time we would pay a little extra and opt for a bigger room than we had on this stay. We were there for 4 nights , and the room we had was probably only suitable for a 1 or 2 night stay.

I was so happy that I chose Hotel FRANQ for my last stop in Belgium - at the end of a trip when you start to get a little bit tired. The staff was remarkable, going above and beyond in every way. The room was spacious and comfy - the right amount of luxury without being stuffy. And, as a treat I had dinner one night at their Michelin starred Restaurant FRANQ and the food and the staff were amazing. I loved this place and would choose it again if I were to visit Antwerp again.

Lovely hotel but disappointed with broken shower

My mum and I stayed for 3 nights, the hotel is gorgeous, great location and the staff are really friendly. I would have given 5 stars, however, we were disappointed that our shower was broken during our stay and wouldn't drain properly. On reporting, an engineer came on the second night, but was even worse. We were not offered any form of compensation for this.

This is the perfect place to stay in Antwerp. It’s located centrally - close to the train station, historic town square including the church designed by Ruben, and is walkable to local hangouts and shopping areas. The hotel has a cool history being a former bank and the staff are knowledgeable about this history and the area.

Excellent hotel in a great location

Lovely hotel stay in Antwerp with the family. The staff are exceptional and the stay was very comfortable and pleasant. A great location just a couple blocks from the old town and a few blocks to the Diamond district. Make sure to ask the front desk for any recommendations you need as all their suggestions were great. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it highly.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. My biggest problem with this hotel is the bed. The bed was awful. Waking up on vacation sore and uncomfortable isn't ideal. The breakfast was wonderful as was the staff on duty for the breakfast.

Comfortable, clean and great location

Weekend stay, our room faced the courtyard and was very quiet & comfortable. Hotel is well located within walking distance to old town & the port. We walked from the train station to the hotel and it was okay distance if you don’t have a lot of luggage but a taxi may be a better choice

The breakfast was exceptional with fresh breads, cheese, fruits, and juices. Eggs to order. Adding the breakfast option was well worth it.
The bed is comfortable. Shower was spacious. Everything was great.
The only exception is Road construction in front of the property but this is temporary as of 9/28/23.

Lovely place to stay

Had a lovely night here on our Belgian tour. Couldn’t fault the hotel - great room, clean bathroom and good shower. Central location too.
Road works outside the hotel but had no effect on our stay and didn’t notice any noise. Lovely touch was the glass of Prosecco on arrival.

We had one of the small rooms but it was well equipped and the bed was comfortable. (Unfortunately the street was a building site and the first thing to greet us at the entrance was a huge digger. Presumably that was temporary and not something the hotel staff have any control over.). Breakfast priced at 28 euros was well above and beyond our budget.

Poor check in. Little assistance available. Asked for a map of the local area and got one the size of a soap. Excellent housekeeping and restaurant-bar staff. Windows are paper thin. We listened to men arguing each night from the apartment building across the street at 2am every morning.

Horrible staff that doesn’t say hi at all,
Hospitality is key and not being friendly is really a huge let down with these place. It’s very outdated and needs a entire refresh for the interior. With all these iconic designers like Vincent van duysen, Axel, etc etc I expected a better design over all since this hotel is next to so many interior showrooms.

Lovely hotel in a great location

Hotel Franq is a quick taxi ride or tram from Antwerp Station. It is on a quiet street, but an easy walk from the old town sights and the trams. The hotel has quirky, stylish decor and the rooms are decent size with good air conditioning and all the usual amenities. The bar was nice with good snacks, if a little expensive. The Michelin star restuarant was very good, if not spectacular. Some dishes were truly great, some were good but not that special. (The galangal sorbet with siracha palate cleanser was outstanding!) Staff were all very friendly and very helpful. We did think that green tracksuits as the bar/restaurant uniform looked a little bit odd, but that is a minor comment! We would definitely recommend Hotel Franq for a lovely place to stay when in Antwerp.

Lovely hotel close to the old city centre. Impressive lobby and friendly reception. Happy to accommodate additional requests for room amenities. Was hoping for a bath - description said tub/shower combo but rainforest shower was acceptable. Room service was excellent and attentive to detail. A little noisy (plumbing, other guests) but probably due to the beautiful old building. Could make more of a feature of the downstairs vault - a lounge/bar/exhibition space? - paying homage to the history of the building’s architectural features. Gay friendly but surprisingly quiet during a gay festival...shame because deserved to be busier.

The lobby has a large atrium, giving a light-filled atmosphere. The gallery on the first floor has a nice sitting area. The hotel has a cosy boutique feeling. The room was exceptionally small however.
The breakfast service was good.
The staff carried in their approachability and willingness to assist but the majority were helpful

A great hotel except for a big glitch

I loved almost everything about this beautiful hotel: great location by the Old Town, close to the tram, beautiful rehab of an ornate 19th- century bank building, friendly employees. The “almost” has to do with the fact that when I sent a shirt out for laundering, it did not come back in the promised 12 hours, and then it did not come back until 54 hours. Two and a half days! And the staff did not seem to be on top of the situation enough to rectify it quickly. What if I was going to be checking out the following day? What if I need mes that shirt for a special event the following night? The staff at least did not charge me the laundry fee, and they offered apologies, but nothing more. Not a free breakfast, not a free drink in the bar, not one night off of my total seven-night stay; nothing. This is a Relais et Châteaux property, for heaven’s sake. A Best Western would have offered more. So that was the one blot on my otherwise lovely stay.

The location of this hotel was excellent. Reception area , bar and restaurant decor 1st class and staff very helpful.

Our only issue was the size of the room we were allocated ! It was very small although the bathroom was still a good size.
Overall we were impressed but the room size meant that we did not feel it was good value !

We upgraded our room as we chose a double room which did not have a view and you could not open the window, it happens we booked the only room like this. The upgraded room was light and bright with modern furnishings and we slept well. The receptionist Marie-line was so helpful with information about Antwerp, she helped us with our train booking to Paris, organising a taxi, also helped with our luggage and all with a smile to go with it. The hotel is in a great location. We really enjoyed our stay here and wholeheartedly recommend it.

The room was quite small but very well fitted throughout. In fairness we hadn't booked the larger room option so were not surprised by the size or room or disappointed, It met expectations.
Bed and linens all felt like quality and we had good nights sleep during the stay.
The communal areas of the hotel are beautifully furnished, a very pleasant space to spend time in.
Location wise it was perfect for us. Very close to a couple of bars we use whenever we are in Antwerp and close enough to all the city center shopping and sights.

The Hotel Franq is a modern stylish hotel with a great decor. Even more, it is located just off the main tourist areas of Antwerp -- the Cathedral, the waterfront and many many restaurants. The public areas have a comfortable and rich, contemporary look to them. I had dinner one night at the bar, off the bar menu, and it was relaxing. Our room was on the small side, and was thoughtfully laid out. All very light and airy, with clean modern lines. Hotel Franq is a good choice for a boutique hotel in a convenient location for tourists.

Hotel and rooms are very nice. The hotel restaurant is nice and can be recommended. However the breakfast is \"at table service\" which results in long waits and a lot of wasted food (all get the same). A breakfast buffet would be soooo much better.

Lovely two night stay. Really welcoming reception and great bar staff.

Took 1 star off for noise as from the room you could hear other doors slamming closed, people's phone conversations in the lobby and the chairs scraping on the dining room floor below. It used to be a bank so although impressive and attractive it's a bit of an echo chamber.

Also, shower design lacks a bit of practicality! Still a great stay

Great hotel, with a few annoying features

Check-in was marred by a faulty lock meaning that we were unable to get into our room (neither could the cleaning staff, not the check-in staff when they came to show me \"how to open the door\"). We had to wait about an hour for another room to be hastily (and not fully) prepared.

The hotel is in a wonderful location for walking around the city - but can be noisy at night because of party-goers outside.

The room was great, and the bed very comfortable indeed. We loved being able to open the window - a real luxury in a modern hotel these days.

The hotel is stylish, but sometimes over-designed. For instance the off-centre coffee saucers drop me crazy, and the do not disturb/service my room cards hung by a piece of twine that kept spinning to display the wrong side.

Breakfast was delicious, but room service menu for the rest of the day very limited.

Boutique hotel

Excellent boutique-style hotel, in an old bank building. Pleasant mix of traditional and modern architectural and art designs. Extremely friendly and attentive staff, in all departments. Bedroom slightly on the small side, but very comfortable and very well arranged and styled. Only down side: lack of buffet-style breakfast - I prefer to see and choose.
Excellent private meeting room and related facilities.

Great Hotel - Right in the heart of Antwerp

From the minute you step inside, you can see the fantastic style and atsmosphere of this great hotel.
A great style of decor - super cozy nice restaurant, and the really nice garden restaurant.
My room was very well decorated and had all needed.
Not many amnenities, but that could not bring down my rates for this super nice hotel.
Not as a big hotel, but more friendly and warm - great service.
Right in the heart of Antwerp.
Next stay in Antwerp - deffinately at Franq

Hotel Franq is relatively new in Antwerp. The location is is great - not to far to walk from Central Station (but too close for all taxis to want to take you) and withing walking distance of the old part of town and hundreds of fantastic restaurants, bars, sights and shopping.

The building itself is spectacular and has been decorated to a high standard throughout. You can see the original bank vault in the basement which is fun. The room was big, bathroom big too with double sinks and walk in shower. Bed was comfortable with a mountain of pillows and cushions. The room cozy and comfortable.

- Mini bar was just water replenishment each day. Although there is a bar and restaurant on the ground floor.
- Reception staff great, but bar staff were so slow. They didn't have the ingredients for a signature cocktail named after the hotel. Took ages making a mojito despite bar and restaurant only having a few customers. My olives never arrived. Because of this we didn't bother to try it again or the restaurant.
- Our room was not cleaned one day despite sign being left out requesting room clean. We had to ask for water and towels. When the towels arrived they were small gym towels not the luxury bath sheets in the room.

None of these things are a big deal but for a hotel pitching at this level of the market the service needs more attention.

I would stay there again but would hope service improves.

Great new hotel in Antwerp

Great new boutique hotel in Antwerp. I stay normally at a slightly smaller luxury boutique hotel, but it was booked and don't like the local Hilton so I saw this new hotel had opened. And it is lovely--bigger than my other boutique hotel, but that means it comes with a gym and a restaurant. I would really recommend this hotel as offering services that are better than the Hilton with the amenities of the Hilton--i.e. gym bar, restaurant.
