Didnt have to touch the air con. Happy with the temperature. Tram stop right outside and plenty of trams, so did mot have to wait long which was handy for the centre of Antwerp. There were shops nearby but didnt use.

The room was very clean and comfy bed. The shower was brilliant and it was very quiet so we had a great nights sleep. The breakfast was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpfull. It wa in a great location near to the harbour and within easy walking distance to bars and restaurants. Will stay here again next time i visit antwerp.

Clean, friendly, accessible.

Comfortable hotel only 20 minutes walk from main railway station. Close to a dock, with great walks and dining options. Lovely staff, plentiful breakfast and a really relaxing place to stay. Would recommend.

It’s an okay hotel. Quite convenient for visiting the city as the transport link is at the doorstep.

Stayed for one night on a motorcycle trip. Kindly allowed us to put 2 bikes in one space and they were out of sight so happy to pay for this. The hotel is a 15-20 minute walk from the main centre, if you walk in the right direction !!!

The one thing I was concerned about was in the morning there were 2 youngsters lying in one of the corridors, charging their phones from a socket on the wall. Now I have no idea if they were guests but why would you lay in the corridor if you had paid for a bed.

Staff need training

It is wholly unhelpful to have a shift change over at the same time as check-in opens.
You do not have to be a genius to work that out.
We arrived a few minutes before check-in and were asked to take a seat and wait.

A group of people enter immediately after us and we're checked strait in.
Tables in the reception area remained littered in rubbish for several hours.
The facilities are good but the staff not great.

As Expected

The rooms at this hotel were as expected from the description and pictures online. Rooms are a bit dated but very clean.

There is a tram stop right outside the hotel to let you get to the central part of the city fast.

Because this hotel is a distance from the city center there are few restaurants near by and the hotel has no food service. The included breakfast was standard for a holiday inn express in Europe.

The A/C was not working because it’s winter, which makes no sense. Windows to the room would only open 10cm. If you want any sort of air flow or fresh air your options are to listen to the noise from the street with the window open or nothing. It’s not unrealistic to expect a working air system no matter what time of the year it is.

Internet was fast and reliable. No problems streaming videos or having zoom calls.

What a great hotel. We were very pleasantly surprised. Stayed In a double room which was very spacious. Lovely breakfast (continental) each morning with plenty of everything. Satisfied hotel stay.

The hotel in general is excellent. No change from our first experience on our first trip ten years ago when there were much roadworks in progress.. Antwerp has been an annual trip ever since for our group. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Despite the walking distance from the Grote Markt (18-20 minutes) where we would meet friends who where staying close to Antwerp Central Station as they still had qualifying pre-pandemic bookings. The breakfast included proved good value for money.

The hotel staff were lovely and the buffet was a bonus at breakfast. Our only complaint was we’re on floor 6 and it was just too warm. We tried air con etc but it didn’t seem to help things. This just made it uncomfortable to sleep or visit was April and temperatures were less than 20c

When booking it states free buffet but at the hotel they say it's complementary. Due to Covid it's a take away breakfast. We had to face a bad experience with the breakfast. When order from is filled they decide the quantity of choices so, it's not buffet and If to much breakfast they reduced or do not give. So be careful if not you could be embarrassed. All other and room facilities good.

Hotel car park is VERY expensive, but fortunately there is free on-street parking overnight (10h00 - 09h00).

Breakfast buffet is very good value and offers a wide selection.

MAke sure you check what room you have booked

Once again, the hotel ignores what I have booked on hotels.com. They offer you selection of different rooms, I select a double bed with sofa bed. On arrival at the property I enter my room and I am confronted with a room with 2 single beds and a small chair. Totally different to what I have booked. This has happened to me at least 3 times at this accommodation. The last time they said it was because I had arrived before the check in time of 3pm, this trip I arrived 5 hours after check in time!

Overall the hotel is great,the problem is the descriptions and selection of rooms is a fiction, you may as well not bother choosing. I have tried everything, arriving dead on time, arriving late, arriving early, pretending there is 2 of me, nothing works.

Please Holiday Inn Express can you either be more transparent in your selection on Hotels.com, get rid of whoever allocates the rooms or best of all just provide me with the room I have booked! I have stayed here 7 times this year (I like you) you got it right the last 2 times why have you gone back to your old ways.

Breakfast is reasonable. Wi-Fi is great, location is brilliant, very clean, friendly staff, but room selection is a fiasco.

Staff is not very helpful and does not go out of their way to help you, but this may be how Belgium people are. I am coming from Spain where it is the opposite there. Magnetic card keys only work for an hour, all week multiple trips down to reception to reactivate. I had an accident and was difficult to walk and this just made my stay a nightmare. Breakfast could be improved.

We had a very hard time finding the hotel when we first arrived in the evening because of construction on the street and because there were no lights on. The building was just black. They said the lights were out of sync because of the time change but that was a week after. They said they would tell maintenance and get it fixed but that was too late for us.

Good for one - that’s about it. Bit overpriced

The room had 2 double beds to accomodate 3 people. One was proper bed and one sofa bed. The sofa bed mattress was so thin that you would have been able to feel the rails under it. Window didn’t open at all - even when it supposed to open max 10 cma. Cleaning of the room wasn’t really good. The first time they turned up after we left the room - they did just the beds and changed the towels. Didn’t clean or replaced the cups used for the tea - kettle in the room. We had just 2 cups when we were 3 people sharing.

There was no enough room in the room as storage or even to walk around when all 3 of us were in at the same time.

The room was good, quite comfortable and with quite a good view over the harbour. The breakfast was basic but free so can't complain. The location is within walking distance of the city centre and train station. My main criticism is how difficult it was to find the car park - it's inside a shared parking structure and the signage to the hotel's parking is very bad. When I eventually found the parking area it was full anyway so I parked in another company's area. The staff at reception told me that's ok because they rent the parking bays from the other company at the weekend, but that information was not available before I spent ages trying to find a spot.

Hotel is excellent. Unfortunately at the moment (October 2018) at the front there is extensive noisy roadworks. It used to be fine if you got a harbour facing room, but there is now extensive noisy building work from 7am! Double glazing is good at silencing the noise. You will have to rely on air con, I like fresh air so I didn't need a wake up call!

The front desk staff are absolutely wonderful. Very helpful and knowledgeable. The location was convenient, about 10 minute walk to the old town. The entire surrounding area is under construction and it was difficult to find the entrance and the parking lot.

Excellent location. Lots of restaurants around harbour area. MAS museum 4 minutes away, City Centre 15 minutes walk. Breakfast is OK for a buffet breakfast, no hot food. Bed fantastic. Wi-fi free and excellent. Staff very pleasant. Try to get a room on the harbour side as the road can be a little noisy (didn't keep me awake) on road side of hotel.

Nice hotel for family!

The location of the hotel would have been pretty good (about 15 min walking to the city center), but the area is under construction and we had to take a big detour. Once the construction will be over, I am sure the other guests will enjoy the location :)
The staff was very friendly and nice.
The room was clean, with comfy beds.
Breakfast was tasty. It would have been nice to have more choices (e.g there were only boiled eggs, no scrambled eggs).
Parking was spacious.

Walking distance to most tourist attractions such as Old Town, Central Station, Cathedral of Our Lady. Also very close to restaurants. Parking is available underneath the hotel for $17 Euro per day. A nice breakfast is offered -- highly recommend the Belgium waffles. :)

The place is ok only. The breakfast is not that great. Not much amenities that you can enjoy. The room is small. The hotel is around 15-20 minutes to Brabo Fountain. But the room is clean.
