Great hotel, very much enjoyed our stay. Staff were excellent at attending to our needs and very polite as well as offering some excellent dinning options. Hotel location is ideal plenty of public transport options around and just the right distance to the city centre (around 15 min walk). Rooms are well furnished and nice bathroom and very comfortable bed. Amazing pool and fitness facilities, unfortunately the facilities do come at a €7 per person per day cost which would be a problem if you were told, unfortunately this information was not included on Expedia not the hotels fault hence why it has not been reflected in the rating. It’s really a constant battle with Expedia regarding information on a hotel when booking all information about the hotel should be included. All round great stay definitely recommend!

I was disappointed that although we were staying 4 nights, we only got two complimentary coffees the first day. We had to open a bottle of water left by the coffee machine and assumed this is what we needed to use. We were charged for that water. If we didn’t open it we’d be expected to use bathroom tap water. My husband and I are well seasoned travellers and we have stayed in lesser hotels and always had complimentary teas and coffees everyday that were topped as and when they needed to be. The room was somewhat dated but, it was clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable. It would have been nice to have had access to an ironing board and iron. Would we stay at the Hylit again? No. It may just be coffee to the Hylit, but to us it’s that lovely comfy treat in morning that reminds us of home. Sorry Hylit, but you need to rethink your complimentary room drinks. What you’re doing is penny pinching. How embarrassing for you.

I paid for a hotel with Sauna and pool. When we arrived they appeared to be closed. While at themoment of the purchase it was supposed be like that. I had a weekend planned just to relax there. It costed me lots of emotional work and psychological stress because i came all the from amsterdam. Spent just a gew hours in Bruges and then went to antwerpen to find out that the present of my beloved boyfriend wasnt going to happen. Then had to change plans while it was not announced before. I ask for some kind of compensation if you consider how much stress this caused me.

It is a convenient location and quiet. We wanted to relax at the pool, but there were loud teenagers jumping and splashing, so not really a relaxing experience. The breakfast was just OK, nothing special.

Very bad service, incredibly psychorigid staff, mixed bills with long waiting time. Breakfast extremely expensive and pretty lousy. To demotivate you completely they close the gym at 9 and nothing is possible. STAY AWAY NOT IN!

A very rare feature in hotels is the possibility to cut the light in the hall, independently from the lights in the rest of the room. When working at the \"desk\" or reading, it makes the room so much more cosy. Staff of reception, breakfast service, housekeeping, everybody is very nice , helpful and full of attention, combined with that kind of professional distance so much appreciated. When passing along the desk for instance, you are not to say anything if you don't want to but a very welcoming smile can always be expected.

The fact that Belgium was on lock down. So we couldn’t even use facilities in hotel. No bar. Restraunt or swimming pool. Had to eat breakfast in room. With this we payed full price for a bed. Would have been better in hostel.

Close to station and 3 or 4 good bars and restaurants. Room fine.
Springy so left you with stiff neck. Reception on 1st floor and I had to use 2 lifts to come and go. Very odd. Bar OK expensive, but not staffed well.
Pool and sauna fine but chunk of day closed and there was 1 shower and room for 3 people.
Been in many hotels and while OK , probably been in 4 or 5 already in 3 months that were cheaper and better.

Great location, easy to walk around the city from the hotel and 4 mins walk to Antwerp Central Station, very convenient.
Hotel seemed a little tired, carpet stained in bedroom, slight smell of drains in the bathroom. Shower was great though! Slightly disappointed but made up for the location.

5 Night Stay

We stayed for 5 nights. We had a couple of glitches with the room but a new one was found for us straight away. The pool/gym was only open for a couple of hours in the morning and for a few hours later in the afternoon/evening so we had little chance to use the facilities which was disappointing.

Also there was a coffee machine in our room and there were only 2 coffee pods (2 cups of coffee) available to us free of charge for our whole 5 nights stay!!! If you used more than 2 they were charged from the mini bar at 2 euros each!! When questioned the lady told me 'it was the decision of management' I went and bought my own instant coffee.

The hotel was not disappointing but there wasn't anywhere to sit, apart from reception, during the day unless you sat in your room. The rooms were very dark and poorly lit so difficult to work in there.

Left clothes in the closet and emailed them within hours of leaving and they claimed they could not find them. This is unacceptable as it was not one item but a total of 8 pieces of clothing left hanging in the closet.

Central for the station / zoo area and only a few minutes from the old part of the city
Breakfast rather basic for cost. Plenty of places to eat near by hotel offers parking which can be a bonus for travelers coming by car Found bed uncomfortable and poor quality pillows no choice

Only a couple of 100 metres from the Central Train station and in a good location. Bit confusing as to where the entrance is as it's not where the main sign is on the corner but a lovely hotel and seemed to be very quiet which was good. Room condition was very good.

The Hotel is well located for the train station, being a couple of minutes walk away and on the way there are some bars and restaurants with outdoor seating. The hotel itself has a nicely appointed reception (albeit a little different being on the 1st floor), and the pool area was also very good. We had a junior suite and it was a little odd to be honest, with a 3/4 height partition between the bed area and the office area. Furnishings were ok - perhaps a bit dated in style but clean. The hotel was very quiet and with the blackout blinds got a good nights sleep.

The Hyllit is a modern, well-maintained hotel near the train station and in the heart of the Diamond District. It has large rooms, very comfortable bathtubs and beds, and well-functioning air conditioning. It is also extremely sound proof, at least from the outside. Their breakfasts are excellent, if you can afford them. Unfortunately, they don't have any computers available for guests, most unusual in a four-star hotel.

I have stayed at this hotel in the past and I have seen the progressive slip.
This trip has been quite difficult, I stayed 5 nights the room was clean enough however the amenities are sparse at best plus the AC didn't work my bed linen was never changed just maid, I had one towel and no wash cloth.
The soap was so small it kept falling out of my hands.
So they give you a coffee pot with no coffee other then 2 pods the rest you must pay.
I will look elsewhere next year for sure.

Fine for a woman on business. The room was well appointed and the bed was comfortable, that is it was not unbearably hard. Breakfast was rather expensive but it is possible to eat in the neighborhood. Convenient to the train station and to a taxi stand. The wifi in the room was not reliable. Worked for my phone but faded in and out on my laptop. There is no printer available and although they are happy for guests to email texts to the front desk to be printed, there are kinds of documents for which this doesn't work well.

Fabulous hotel and location!

Beautiful hotel very close to Central Station; easy walk! Hotel security very good, room was large and very comfortable for 2 friends traveling together. Beds were realllly comfortable and bathroom well appointed. Lobby bar was beautiful as was resturant which also has fabulous view. We never used breakfast room. Great shopping right out the front door. Would absolutely stay here again.

Diamond Shopping in Antwerp

We are visiting Antwerp to get a engagement ring. The hotel is in the perfect location for the Diamond district. Also less that 5 mins walk from the Central Train Station.

The hotel is a little expensive but still a nice place to stay. I would recommend this a place to stay in the lovely Antwerp.

The Hotel was much more central than anticipated-and the secure parking beneath the hotel was excellent,another plus point, and although it was 18 euros a day we felt it was worth the money.The security at the hotel was also excellent-access to the lift by room pass may be industry standard but was new to me.The room was listed as a suite-and was a very large open plan style.Not really a 4 star room but more than adequate for our stay.Double bed was supplied as requested as opposed to twin beds. The shower was in need of some TLC and the shower curtain was inadequate resulting in a very wet floor.The staff were very helpful and most pleasant.Overall,it ticked all the boxes and would not hesitate in booking the same again.

Great experience with Hylitt - loved that they offered 4 single beds in one room - which was perfect for my group. A block from Antwerp Central Station couldn't be more convenient. Staff were very accommodating with both an early check in and late check out - day of. The only downside I would say was that two of the beds in our room were squeezed into a tiny sub-room (glass door, 3/4 height walls) within the suite that for two in my party felt too claustrophobic to sleep in.

This hotel is lovely, perfectly fine. As it is one of the most expensive in Antwerp, I think some elements could be better: being made to pay for breakfast when already paying a premium for accommodation, erratic opening hours of the leisure centre, the complicated set of locks and passes needed to access floors.

But otherwise, it's a good hotel in a convenient location.

Watch for the additions to the bill...

This is my second time staying at the Hyllit. The Hotel itself is fine but what ruined all of the good impression of this hotel was the one Receptionist who annoyed me on checking out.

The problem was this particular man insisted I had 'tipped' the breakfast waitresses and would not take no for an answer. Why would I 'tip' by telling them to add the Euros to my final hotel bill? 'If' I was going to tip, I would have left the Euros, not specifically told them I wanted them to add the tip to the bill.

So I checked out, and then when I check my credit card bill, I see an additional amount has been added as a separate charge which was not part of the final hotel bill.

It may not be much of an amount to worry about, but it is the principal. And this puts me off staying their again.

The Hotel staff were fantastic - very helpful and very polite. The location of the hotel is excellent - One minute from Antwerp Centraal Station. The room was great except for the two single beds joined to make a double which leaves a bump in the middle of the bed. The Gym, Swimming Pool and Sauna area is very good (although the Gym would benefit from having a Water Machine). My only real problem with my whole stay was the Wi-Fi is called 'High-Speed' but I checked the speed every day and never got over 1MB. On two days I got 0.4MB which is just unusable for a business traveller. Providing they get the Wi-Fi access improved, I would stay there again and recommend this hotel to other people.

Lovely Hyllit Hotel

Beautiful hotel with easy walking distance to the train station, shopping on the Meir and visiting the University of Antwerp. The buffet breakfasts satisfies even the picky eater with a vast arrary of choices. Welcoming front desk staff who made great recommendations for local cuisine. Our only disappointment was that the pool attendant covered the pool at 8:50 p.m. and that's when we showed up for a quick swim and were told we could not swim.

Easily the largest room I've even had in a European hotel. I have a mild obsession with quiet, and my room, as well as the public areas of the hotel, met my high standard in this regard. Located about a block from the train station and a 15-20 minute walk from most tourist attractions. The spaciousness, peace and quiet, cleanliness, and modernity of this hotel all pleased me greatly.

Considered to be one of the best hotels in Antwerp, unfortunately it didn't quite hit the mark. Everything seemed to incur an extra charge from having a bath in the bathroom, to the 20 Euro charge for a below par breakfast. Reception staff while polite were slow and forgetful. We ordered a taxi which was forgotten and no apology was given or attempt to remedy the resulting situation.
I'd stay elsewhere if I visit the city again.

A lovely 4-star hotel located on the main street by the central train station. The room was large (by European standards). Very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good: a nice assortment of food.

I liked the layout: you have to go through the lobby to get to elevators for the rooms, and you have to have a room key to operate the elevator. I felt secure as a single woman business traveler.
