We had a great stay at the Maek Hotel! Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, especially Marc who went out of his way to make our stay so enjoyable. Beds were comfy, rooms immaculate, lovely bar area.

My parents and I have just returned from a New Years Eve trip to Antwerp. We had a brilliant stay at the MAEK Hotel which is close to Antwerp Central Station. The location is perfect, the rooms are modern and comfortable, and the whole place has a relaxed, stylish vibe that makes you feel instantly at home. The breakfast was also 10/10.

A special shout‑out to the receptionist, a young lad called Eecol, who genuinely made the stay even better. He was friendly, informative, and had a great sense of humour. He went out of his way to help with recommendations and local tips, all delivered with a bit of banter.

My only complaint? He’s a Max Verstappen fan… but I suppose nobody’s perfect.

All in all, a fantastic experience. We’ll definitely be back.

It is 5 star review except king bed consist of 2 twin beds installed next to each other with lack of attachments, so beds separated at night that is not only not comfortable but dangerous!!!

One night stay. The hotel was nice and the reception staff were very helpful (allowing us early check-in). The room was nice. The only complaint is that the lock/catch on the toilet door was broken (it had been removed), so the door didn't stay closed.

I like the Mercure Antwerp City Centre hotel and this was my second time this year to visit. It's in a central location close to the train station and one can enjoy a lovely park across the street from the hotel. The breakfast is always good and the bar is nice. But I have one complaint: my room came this time with inadequate lighting. See photo of the only light for the bedroom space other than the pinpoint bed lighting. While this light is ok for the table beside it, it certainly does not help illuminate the room. As a result my room was gloomy, which is no help in winter.

The room was good it was very hot. I ask for a fan the fist day but the hotel didn't offer that. But the girl at the desk adjusted the temperature in the room to go cooler. The other two day was told they couldn't do that.🤔
The other thing we had to have the key reser everyday.

We didn't realize that the hotel is under renovation, the staff was friendly but a few things can be improved. For example : the bag storage system, there was not a proper tag and ticket for the bag, it didn't feel secured although they locked the room but anyone can claim someone else bag, this is not very thoughtful. House keeper didn't refill the soup and shampoo in our room, it feels like there was lack of management. But room was a good size, and really good location, next to the park and quick 10 minutes walk to Antwerpen Central Station.

Under construction hotel but was nowhere mentioned , lot of basic amenities missing and when requested you will be charged. You would find much better hotels in the same price range. Better to avoid this hotel not at all worthy of 4 stars.

Noisy airco, dirty carpets, dirty wallpaper, toilet & drapes. No shoe polish kit.
Only plus was the friendly staff.

Property was fine! But a very rude senior manager on check in. Not at all interested in helping customers with anything, behaves like he’s doing a favor checking guests in. He forgets that he’s in the service industry and a smile and being polite makes the difference.

Good location. I think it was relatively cheap, but not 100% sure as work did it.
The facilities were a bit tired, and the bathroom pipes made the room smell.
The impression I got was that although it didn't seem very busy, I was put in a low value back room, maybe because of the Wotif deal(?) or because it was a long stay(?), but it would have been nice to feel more valued given the length of time I was there.

We've stayed at the hotel many times and would recommend it for convenience to centre and overall comfort.
We did ask for bed toppers to add more comfort to the beds and none were available but the beds were quite ok.
Breakfast is really good and great value.The hotel is very close to the amazing railway station - a beautiful building and a rail network to be proud of.

The hotel is ideally situated and across the road of a sizable park.. The rooms were reasonably sized and the beds firm and comfortable. Unusual that the toiletries were squeeze bottles but they sufficed. Desk staff were helpful, smiling and spoke good English. Buffet breakfast was excellent including fresh orange juice ( a rarity). However, their restaurant proved to be disappointing one/two evenings , yet on the first night quite good. Chef ????? Who knows !!

We had a large well furnished room and a big bathroom which was easy to manage despite the shower being over the bath with a really well designed shower curtain. The hotel was very pleasant and the desk staff helpful. One way from the station seemed a bit unsavoury but the alternative - also the way into the main tourist attractions - was fine and also provided a lovely view of an acclaimed station

Tomorrowland trip.

My wife and I came for the Tomorrowland festival, so we stayed from Thursday to Tuesday. The area is great and the people are fantastic and friendly. On the Thursday night after our evening meal we returned to the Leapold Hotel and heard dance music from across the road in the park. We went to check it out and found a nice dance club with an alfresco eating area filled with people. Everyone seems to have time for you, Antwerp is vibrant city with as many different beers as it has cultures and people. The Leopold Hotel is also a pick up point for the Tomorrowland shuttle. Even though we're nearly 60 we'll try and tickets for next year and probably use the same hotel.

The hotel was quite ok but cleaning which had bothered me a lot..cleaners change the bin and with same hands hanging the towels and fixing the bed. Unless u give realization to the staff they never fill the tea bags and sugar. Breakfast was quite ok but main things bothered me the contamination same utensils were being used for meat and non meat stuff. worst ever breakfast this was not my first stay in antwerp. The mattress were also quite average quality and cleanliness was worst..

The staff could not be more helpful from the front desk to the housekeeping - and the rooms/bathrooms were a good size, with all you could need included.

On our first night arrived back to Hotel to have a drink at 10.30pm and everything was closed. Very disappointed. Never been in a Hotel that closes before 10.30pm and we have done a lot of travel. Will not be telling anyone to book this Hotel.

The hotel is quite alright but a little outdated. The room that we stayed in was very spacious and comfortable, there was absolutely nothing wrong about it. Everything was pretty clean too.
The furniture and general style of the hotel is quite old fashioned and could do with a face lift though. The area is not the best but the hotel is close to the train station which is very practical. And only 5-10min walk for nice streets and cafes.
One thing that a lot of hotels still do, unfortunately, is give out plastic water bottles, individually wrapped cotton balls and other bits. It would be great if they could start putting glass/steel carafes instead, as we all know single plastic use like this has a terrible impact on the environment!

Put me in a different hotel round the corner which was 3 star,they said the hotel was full which find hard to believe the room I was given wasn’t very clean fags holes in the carpet and broken furniture I felt like walking out but I had a meeting and it was to late to arrange another hotel, I will not be booking another hotel if this is the service I get totally spoilt my stay in Antwerp

Ok but not worth the price

On check in I was told I didn't have breakfast despite having already paid for it in advance. The women on the check in desk we we arrived was rather rude and not very welcoming. The hairdryer in the room didn't work although a replacement was deliverd to or room quite quickly. The women who worked nights and brought the hair dryer to us was much more friendly and profesional. The soap dispenser in the bathroom was about 10% full on arrival. The hotel is located in a quite neighbourhood across the road from a park, quite a walk to the city centre.

first girl that greated us was obnoxious!

i want to mention that upon arrival from the airport to your hotel, (which was early, around 12noon) a blonde hair girl greated me with the friendly hello that there is no room available, it is too early, . so , i explained to her that i did request an early check in, as i had no where to go, so i asked her when the room will be available. so, she said at 3:00pm. there was another dark hair girl sitting next to her, and upon hearing her response, she told me , no, it will be available soon... sure enough, about 15 minutes later the second girl came to tell me that the room is ready. so, i just want to let you know, that it will be very hard for me to recommend your hotel because of this incident. i think you should talk and educate this receptionist that you have to be more accommodating and at least try to sound nice. she sounded horrible!!!!!! very unpleasant. the second girl (dark hair} was very nice and made sure to get us the room as soon as possilbe and in fact she did. the blonde haired girl was obnoxious.!!!!!

Good hotel convenient to central station

Seems mostly a hotel frequented by business people and tour groups. Staff was professional -- ie not especially warm but efficient. Room was clean, location convenient to the central rail station and has a pleasant city park across the street, and is about a half hour walk from the old city.

Just the right hotel for my husband and I on vacation or business. We stayed in the last week of May in a standard room with view of the park and with breakfast included. The hotel has great location across City Park, near Central Station, restaurant area, and downtown historical places. The room was large by European standards with very comfortable beds. It was clean and quiet. The staff was attentive and pleasant. The American breakfast buffet had several options (waffles, pancake) and healthy items. The only negatives were: 1) the WiFi that at pick hours was slow or even difficult to get in and 2) there was an odor of humidity on the corridor from elevator to our room. But overall it was a pleasant and good value hotel for our stay.

Well situated hotel for most parts of the city, with a pleasant park across the street. Close to the station, the zoo, numerous good places to eat and drink and also the vast shopping area. Breakfast was very good, lots of variety, with delicious bread and coffee. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn't have dinner at the hotel as we were visiting friends but we would certainly stay here again on a future trip.

Had a lovely stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was big and nice and clean but the bathroom was a bit tired. Breakfast was great and loved the waffle maker. Don’t think the Leopold is a 4 star boutique hotel but very happy for the price we paid. The area around the hotel is a bit run down but very easy walk into the old town.
