I arrived at the Chantry Hotel just after midday. The proprietor was happy for me to check-in straight away. He was also happy for me to leave my car there for a couple of hours after I’d checked out the following morning. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was first class. My room was on the second floor - the second set of stairs was a little narrow but fortunately I didn’t have much luggage for my overnight stay so it wasn’t a problem for me. I would definitely stay here again.

Brilliant location for visiting all the main attractions in Bury St Edmunds. Was warmly welcomed by our host and they were flexible about check in times and us leaving the car in their car park before check in. Had a lovely quiet room which was warm and comfortable. Everything we needed was provided. Breakfast was great, with a good selection. Would definitely stay here on future visits to the area.

What a find this Gem of a hotel was!!
What an amazing little find this hotel is. Right in the centre of Bury, 10 minute walk if that to the shops, market, pubs and restaurants. Earlier check in than most hotels of 1pm, but they were happy if we got there earlier for us to leave our car in their car park so we could go about our day. Our room was clean, tidy and functional, nice shower, comfy bed and nice selection of drinks available in the room. Staff were really friendly and helpful and the breakfast the next morning was lovely. Lots of choice included and the full English breakfast was cooked to perfection using quality ingredients. It was perfect for everything we needed and at the same price as the premier inn near by it is an absolute no brainer. Much more personal, relaxing, comfortable quality stay. Thank you! We will be back next time we visit Bury 😊

Good location, lovely building, unfortunately that’s all the positives, paying £175 a night we excepted a level of service, there was no warm welcome the lady was in fact quite hostile. Immediately asked our name and took payment not a hi, or welcome nothing! There was no way we were going to hang around for breakfast in the morning and experience more ignorance . Bury it’s self was beautiful the perfect setting to celebrate our anniversary unfortunately we choose the wrong place to stay, with so many options of places to stay in the area I recommend do your research and find somewhere welcoming and friendly.

This is my go to hotel for staying in Bury St Edmunds. The rooms are always excellent and individual, clean and well stocked with coffee etc. the beds are amazingly comfortable.
The freshly cooked breakfast is great, and the staff are always welcoming and friendly.
Free off road parking is a great bonus and the hotel is a few minutes from the centre of the historic centre and the cathedral and abbey gardens.

Comfortable bedroom number 5 with large bathroom and bath all kept very clean. HoweverI am use to a Queen bed so a double does feel small and not keen on wood headboard to sit up against. Breakfast is great too and All served at your table by a lovely and efficient server who also cleans and makes up the rooms.

Our break in Bury St Edmunds was excellent. The hotel was quite good and was in an excellent location close to many shops and restaurants. The only reason, we were not totally happy was because our room was tiny and the furniture looked a little dated. However, we would book it again if we could get a bigger room, which we noticed, they had many of. The Service, especially at breakfast was very good and so was the breakfast. The hotel was generally clean and tidy.

This is a charming hotel, close to the center of Bury St Edmunds. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. I stayed in the Tudor Annexe, and had a lovely, comfortable room, with tea/coffee making facilities. All very clean.

Great B&B centrally located, nice rooms and well furnished. It didn't bother us at all, but with a room at the front of the hotel, the road was quite busy and noisy. Good choice of breakfast items, friendly service - would definitely stay here again.
