This is a great place for a short weekend stay. The staff was friendly and it's close to everything including North Tahoe Regional Park, which is the perfect place to take your family/dogs to play in the snow. The room was renovated and fairly clean, however, most of the towels that were in our room had other people's hair stuck on them, which I wish they would've checked beforehand! By the time we found out, the main office was closed, so we couldn't get replacements. Overall a decent stay!

I had a \"partial lake view\" room and it was about what i expected- Mostly it showed the rest of the resort. Not much of a view of the lake unless i stepped outside my room and walked down to the stairs to the beach.
I Might try the full lake view room next time. Overall it was a great expereince and the staffing was very good w keeping the parkings lots skraped and accessible during the bad winter storms of Feb '26. I plant to return here again durung the summer.

I have been staying at The Crown for over 30 years. First with my parents as a child, and now with my own child. Love the beach access, and walkability. The remodeled pool area is great!
Only thing I would note is the need for adaptive equipment (ex: grab bar in shower) specifically for older guests; and some of the window treatments could use an upgrade. But it’s the perfect place to bring your family and spend some quality time - winter and summer alike.

They have grills throughout the property that you can use and the hot tub was the cherry on top!! We are already looking to book again.
Only downside is the room not having a window or slide door so we had to get creative with blocking the doorway while having it open for fresh air and sound of the waves.

For a cheap getaway, the Crown Motel was nice. It would be way too modest of a motel for my wife, but for me I just needed a comfortable, clean room for the night. This is not the type of room that you want to spend much time in because it is very small.
I'm one who drinks hotel provided coffee in the rooms that you make yourself. I was disappointed that there was only tea packets in the room.

We have stayed here several times, but it has been a few years. The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. The room had no coffee, the bathroom shower was dirty and it looked like a blind person painted the bathroom door. We got locked out of our room, the front desk staff person was able to assist and get us in. It seems like manangement is not paying attention or walking the rooms. Super bummed, we are local and want to support our local community.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. Loved being right on the lake and listening to the water at night. The fire pit was a nice touch at night to sit by.
At first my husband was put off by the glass door to the room until we found the shade in the closet that just stuck to the door by magnets. We put that up at night.
We did miss having coffee in our room for the morning, unfortunately it was on back order.

Believe the bad reviews! I wish I would have. They honey pot you with pictures of other updated rooms. We stayed in a standard room in the courtyard and it was also very loud from the street and noisy neighbors who were there to party. Might be nice if you pay the extra money for a lake view room because the location is nice, otherwise don’t waste your money on a standard room and expect to get a good nights rest.

Old hotel. We stayed in courtyard room which had a lot of traffic noise. Adjoining guests coming and going sounded like they were walking in our room. Room is a bit tight. Place needs work. Carpet on stair is nasty. Location is good, close to things and lake.

The location was great! It is right next to the lake and a few minutes walk to the Event Center. The bed was also very comfortable. My complaints focus about cleanliness and noise. You can hear all the cars drive by on the main road and everything happening in the parking lot. The room we stayed in had a fan missing a blade and was caked with dust. The mattress cover was also a bit dirty on the side, but was covered by a sheet.
