To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to explain the rating I recently left for my stay at the Golden Nugget. I want to provide context so that my feedback is fully understood.
The cleanliness of my room was not up to the standard I would expect. Despite having the \"Do Not Disturb\" sign off, housekeeping never came to service my room. I was left having to personally flag down maids in the hallway just to get clean towels, which should not have been necessary for any guest.
On my last day, there was a strong sewage odor throughout the entire property, which was extremely unpleasant and made for a very uncomfortable end to my stay.
Additionally, I noticed a considerable number of solicitors in the casino area, which created an uncomfortable and unwelcoming atmosphere for guests.
These combined experiences are the direct reason for the rating I provided. I do not leave negative feedback lightly, but I feel it is important that management is aware of these issues so that future guests do not have the same experience.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to make the necessary improvements.

We stayed 5 nights and only had housekeeping one day, I called and requested housekeeping and was told they would come but never showed up. The room on arrival had a strong odor of sewer which was concerning, the maintenance team came and sprayed the room and placed a large fan /filter for a few hours which helped, the staff were friendly, the restaurant service was great, the pool was closed for construction, overall we enjoyed our stay , the hotel is aging and definitely needs some attention.

Hotel used to be the gem of downtown. It’s a shadow of itself at this point. We had to be moved due to the heat not working in the room. (Room 17202). We were told they would repair while out for the evening. We came back and were told it was repaired. It was not and had to switch rooms at 1:30am.

2nd room cleanliness was poor, (Room 18216).

Both rooms were corner suites.
The hotel refunded the resort fee, however in this case it was then only wanting to do the minimum.
If you have options for the rate I’d stay elsewhere.

Was disappointed to say the least.

Hotel overall was fine, staff nice. Issue was with the fact the pool was out of service for the duration of our stay and not advised prior to booking. Had we known we would have booked elsewhere. Only other issue was servicing of room was inconsistent, once it wasn’t serviced at all and another time we had to call to ask for it to be done.

Proximity to the strip is great, however the Gold Tower gets all the noise from the strip until 2am. I would not recommend staying in this tower.

700 dollars a night with no coffee maker in the room. The room was what I would expect for 100 bucks. Good for 100 bucks, every singel place I went in this hotel tried to over charge me. 21.00 for a chickfil sandwich. If you care about money this is not the place for you.

Always love the Nugget! Best hotel on Fremont. We were a little upset that the pool was not open though. We came at the same time last year maybe even a couple days earlier and the pool was open. The weather was in the mid 80s should've been open.

There are no shuttles from the airport to the hotel. The casino is half a mile from the Carson Tower. There is no coffee in the room. There is nowhere to sit. The room was half a mile from the elevator. It was not good.

We arrived only to find out the pool and aquarium were closed due repairs until march 7th. Very disappointing as we only stayed there to enjoy the pool! When speaking we the front desk they told me the resort fees are for internet and then proceeded to tell me it’s on the website. I pulled it up on my phone and it was not listed the pool would be down. The employee took my phone and was unable to find the posting. Needless to say we will think twice before booking with them in the future.

We requested an adjoining room, but were placed on different floors. The front desk would not listen to our concerns. We were placed in the rush tower, our room was clean but the tub was rusted on the outside and always backing up when you used the shower (didn't drain properly). Waitresses were never around when you wanted a beverage. Also, resort fees are ridiculous, especially when the pool was not open. What are we paying for then?

I’ve been here before so this was my 2nd stay. I enjoyed celebrating my 50th birthday but the tubs need to be updated. Mine was stopped up when I checked in but it didn’t take long for the guy to come and fix the stopper. The tub was peeling with rust on one part and the paint they tried to cover it up isn’t working. Please just update the tub and stop patching it up in 1017.

I love it this time around that the only way a person can get upstairs on elevators is by having a room key, so no key 🔑 no entrance up. Safety 1st Yeeees 🙌

Other than this, I had a great time and will be back because it’s right on corner of Fremont where nothing stops and everybody rocks ❤️❤️❤️❤️

We went to experience their “world class pool”, it was closed for our entire booking. We would’ve stayed someplace else had we known. If the hotel has a major amenity closed during your stay, the consumer should be made aware of it so that a more informed decision can be made. At the very least a discount should be given.

Rather limited electrical outlets and two of those were absolutely not working. We got around that issue because we always pack a variety of extension cords, several of them. When we arrived for our three night stay there were 4 Keurig cups available for our use. Most hotels when providing coffee in the room, Keurig or other types, typically provide 4 packets/cups of coffee. However, typically the 4 packets are 2 regular/2 decaf, but in our room all 4 were regular. It's nice to have regular coffee in the morning but I prefer decaf in the afternnoon. I asked our housekeeper if she could provide us with a couple of decaf coffee cups and she told us to call HouseKeeping. We did call them I asked if they could just give us a couple of decaf Keurig cups and housekeeping told us we would have to buy 4 more Keurig cups and they would charge $25 to our room for them. Considering what we paid for our Gold Tower room I thought it was pretty chintzy of Gold Nugget. Frankly over the years my experience with in room coffee has been that the hotel would provide 4 packets or cups per day (again, typically split reg/decaf) for free and didn't bat an eye about it. We're not demanding people. We, for example reuse our towels, make the beds ourselves, partly for environment reasons. About the only service we require on a short stay like this one is emptying of the trash containers. So to get basically refused for the one little thing we requested was a disappointment.

The room did not have a refrigerator. Our beds were very very small doubles. Spent 5 days there sleeping alone as a couple. The ac would work one day and not the next. It would randomly turn the fan on at night and have a loud screeching noise. The pool was supposed to be open and wasn’t. When asked the person at the desk is like oh yeah it’s closed, I said that’s why we stayed here, she told me oh well. Very rude and unprofessional. Long lines for any questions. Only one person working the desk and would take forever. Not ideal. Never comped out drinks or offered any upgrades no matter how much we gambled. The Hilton people by the Starbucks would not leave us alone, the stay was extremely annoying.

The stay was just ok. At check-in they push really hard to upgrade your room. We finally caved and upgraded to a “room with a great view” the parking garage. Lol! We were charged 155$ resort fee. The other pool was not available and we used no amenities. The room had peeling paint. Dust 1” thick on sprinkler heads and dirty disgusting windows. When I called to try and get the resort fee waived. I was told it’s not for the pool, but for the spa and the 4 bottled waters in your room. I would recommend staying at Circa if you are looking for a really nice Hotel Casino, that’s where we spent most nights.

Pros: the bedding was clean and seemingly fresh, the staff was friendly and accommodating.
Cons: the rooms were outdated, the bathroom tile was dirty, paint was peeling, lighting was terrible, and the noise coming from Fremont street was LOUD! They provide ear plugs as solution however I think there needs to be a warning to all visitors on that side of the hotel. The sirens going all night long will have even the heaviest sleepers up all night.

The \"resort fees\" are ridiculous-$92 for two nights, no resort amenities available ie pool closed for the season, fitness room only available from 7am-5pm....business hours, was also charged an additional $50 beyond the Hotels.com's supposed total price.
Was there for business workshop, should go elsewhere in the future as Vegas needs to sink and choke on their haughty \"resort\" garbage.

While we liked the hotel and location I will say the room and room service needs improvement. Issues with plugging in cpaps, no working usbs. On check in they should mention if you want your room cleaned you need to call. Even after calling it didn't get cleaned until the third day and I went down and complained loudly.

Staff was courteous. Room was clean but thermostat didn't work so it was 65 degrees in our room unless we shut off the A/C all together. The faucet on the right side of dual sink only had scalding hot water, no cold. Better sheets and a less lumpy mattress cover/pad would have been nice. An extra blanket in the closet - which we would have used - would have been nice as well. The pool being closed was a bummer but we understand when it is low season but still a bummer. Wait staff and games were great!

Phone in room never worked to checkout I had to use my walker and walk down to the bell desk to ask for a Belk guy and then I had to use my walker and walk back to the room to let the bell guy in and then walk back down to check out so I could check out the other thing that when you got let off at the front door by check-in there is no ramp to get down to it for handicap handicap people fortunately I had a friend who carried my walker down and I could hold onto the rails to get down to check to check in

Bathroom was in need of a update. The step over tub is too high to step into for the elderly and there was a few spots on the celing that looked to have water damage, probably from the bath above. Had problems with the door key, Battery was bad in the lock but they promptly fixed it. For the most part was a good experience.

I paid for 2 king rooms on Expedia. It was supposed to be 1 king & 1 double queen. When we got to the hotel I asked them to change the room and if there was a price difference. I was told no and they changed the room for me. When I got to the room it was 2 twin beds. I don’t see how 2 twin beds is the same price as a king room - but regardless I went back down and asked to have a double queen room to which the girl then told me it would be an additional $120. It was extremely uncomfortable and again - I don’t know how a 2 twin beds is the same cost as a king room. It felt like a rip off.
