I was assigned to the Pavilion rooms. Unfortunately across the street is a new nightclub that played extremely loud hip hop music till 4am. My hotel room was vibrating. The hotel agreed to move me to the Cabana building across the street and further away from the nightclub...much nicer and quiet.

It's perfect if you are wanting the Freemont experience. The weather was mild, and the room temp was barely adequate. 73 degrees was the lowest it would go. The water was very slow to drain from the sink.The room was clean and the wifi was good and had a good cell signal.

We arrived at the hotel at 1:05pm and tried to check in. Check in isn't until 2pm, but we gave it a shot. The female desk associate said a room wasn't ready and asked us to come back at 2pm. We came back closer to 4pm, stood in a line that was 7 people long and waited 20+ minutes. Only two desk associates were available and they were working very slowly. We were helped by a gentleman who said we didn't yet have a room assigned, and that he couldn't help us. He asked that we wait for the other desk associate. After another few minutes of waiting the other desk associate helped us, but she couldn't find a room for us. She had to ask someone else about a room so, you guessed it, we waited longer. We finally received the room assignment and our room keys to #1401 (which, btw, is actually on the 13th floor of the hotel). Only one elevator was working so we had to wait again and, when we finally got to our room, the door keys did not work. I took the keys back to the front desk and had to wait in line again. The female desk associate didn't offer an apology or anything, activated the room keys and handed them back to me. Thankfully, they worked this time.
Also, the downtown night life impacts the sleep quality at this hotel. The clubs didn't stop until about 130am Thursday night about 430am on Friday (Saturday! morning). The music from the clubs was LOUD and sounded as if we were front row at a concert. It made for very unrestful nights!

Careful staying here. If you have to get a room that’s on the side of 7th street. There’s a club that doesn’t close till 5am. And the music is loud!! Also, once the sun comes up, it gets bright in your room. Even with the curtains closed

Great hotel downtown. Table minimums higher than other downtown hotels and they don't have Louisiana Stud. The water pressure was slightly lower than it should be. They have a good rewards program with lots of drawings and point rewards. I look forward to staying there again.

Great location, friendly staff. Stayed in original 47 room Thursday - Sunday nights and was a little noisy Friday and Saturday but was to be expected with all of the clubs and bars nearby. Area very safe at all hours. Breakfast at Seigels was delicious and HUGE! Thanks for a great stay El Cortez!

This property was an excellent place to hang out for a weekend. The hotel staff was nice and friendly. The room was spacious with just a bit of road noise from the window. If you are a lite sleeper this may not be for you. Freemont Street was just a short walk from the hotel. The recusants are great inside the hotel and the food was delicious. We will definitely stat here again.

I did choose a run of the room option which was a mistake. I stood in a Pavillion room. Stunk of cigarette even though non smoking, old food under the furniture, and shower gross. Showered with shoes on.

We enjoyed for the most part. The water pressure was very low and the elevator took forever. We loved eating at the restaurant the first night, but had a bad experience the next morning. There were 3 people in the restaurant and it took over 15 minutes for us to get coffee and water.

Stayed on the 5th floor above the parking garage DO NOT STAY HERE. They asked if we wanted to upgrade upon check in and we didn't think it would be that big of an issue. There is a night club across the street that blasted music from 10pm-6am and the heater was broken in the room. We did not sleep AT ALL

Nice room, felt safe even though it was a separate building. Lights and cameras everywhere, easy location For Lyft to pick you up and drop off.
I liked the non smoking building cause sometimes the casino smoke overwhelms. The spa was awesome and affordable. Freemont street was so close by and yet not rowdy or loud enough to hear in the room. Staff was great!! Alice at front desk was super nice, the housekeeping and maintenance team as well. and they showed me the layout of the hotel.

Bathroom plumbing was an issue on multiple days multiple occasions… the renovations they did do look amazing and I do like the hotel but you should be able to flush the toilet. Let go back to the casino and use their bathroom, which was a bummer.

Check in staff rude and unprofessional. My first time there. When checked in, the young lady did not seem to want to help me with anything. I had to ask here to show me how to get to my room and were to park. Did not even gave me the promotion booklet or complementary drinks because I booked with Expedia. The cabana petite room was so small and noisy because it’s next to public parking. The casino has bad ventilation. Smells like cigarettes all over. There’s no smoking section.

The front desk and having the interaction with Sweet was very best part. She switched rooms and was understanding about where we wanted to stay. The rewards and the restaurant we ate at were by far great. As the rooms they are comfortable and loved the black out curtains.

I had low expectations because was told it was an old run down hotel. Clearly these people have not been to the El Cortez, because it’s gorgeous. The hotel has been renovated to high standards, from the lobby to the rooms, it was beautiful (I stayed in the tower, can’t speak to rooms in different locations.)

Beyond the look of the casino was their staff, HR is doing a fabulous job hiring staff, from hotel, to restaurant and casino the staff were amazing. As for the food, I can only speak to the main restaurant, gosh don’t even remember the name, but the food was outstanding! I had the best French dip sandwich ever the first night, my husband had salmon that he said was delicious. Since dinner was so good we had breakfast there, again outstanding, in fact so good that the next morning we were going home we decided to have breakfast there before we hit the road. That never happens, we always leave as soon as we’re up.

I think the hotel is really smart because they have a check in of 2 (4 which is the norm these days) and check out at 12, (the norm is now 11). Giving you the extra time is super smart.

They’re super easy access from freeway, parking structure’s connected to hotel and you immediately enter into the casino from the structure. Oh free parking too, not the case on the strip! They kept one little section of the casino in original state, which was quaint. Only negative, pillows in room were so lumpy. This is now my go to stay in Vegas, Bravo El Cortez!

I stayed in a Cabana suite and there was music blasting somewhere in the area which went until the wee hours of the morning so it was hard to get sleep. The upstairs unit leaked through a light fixture into my bathroom and I had to ask housekeeping to mop it for me (which was done promptly). Everything was clean and tidy though. There’s a fridge inside too.

I didn’t like that the sheets and the pillows smelled like it hasn’t been changed, it smelled dirty. I don’t like that my credit card was charged twice and my boyfriends card was charged as well for the same amount and when I called the hotel to ask about it, I was transferred and I was placed on hold for over an hr and I still didn’t get helped because I hung up.

Staff was great, we stayed across the street and it was older but still clean. We had a problem with no hot water. I called the desk and they immediately had someone to respond. They moved us to the next room over with no issues. Overall I would say this is a good place to stay if you like an older place to stay. They also had a Gym inside the building so working out is right down the hall if your on the first floor.

The first room we were given was extremely underwhelming and nowhere near the expectations set by the website listing.

The furnace in the supposedly “updated” room was incredibly loud—like someone banging on the door—and ran throughout the night, repeatedly waking me. The room also smelled terrible despite being designated non-smoking. No actual bathroom door here.

The next morning, I went downstairs to request a different room. The interim manager on duty took my concerns personally and came across as rude rather than helpful. She didn’t acknowledge or apologize when I mentioned that we waited an hour and a half the night before for blankets and pillows that never arrived.

She eventually had another employee show us a room across the way, advertised as one of the newer suites. While the size was acceptable and it had an actual bathroom door, the room we were assigned was filthy—there was bodily fluid on the carpet and the main chair, a used tissue in the shower, and the overall cleanliness was unacceptable.

Frustrated, I returned to the front desk and asked for the best available room. Upcharge was almost $300 more-crazy. The third room was a completely different experience: truly updated, clean, and clearly better maintained—though much larger and more expensive than we needed. Unfortunately, even this room had a couch with visible bodily fluids, and the thermostat did not function, leaving the room uncomfortably warm (thankfully it was only about 70 degrees outside).

My stay was wonderful. My room was Spotless. Maid service is everyday! However, I didn’t need it. The Cabana was just right for me. I loved the modern decor and the staff was very hospitable. Every time I visit Las Vegas, I will stay here!! I’ve stayed at the Bellagio, planet Hollywood, New York and other big name hotels. I feel you pay for the name. I’m older now, I Don’t need to stay at those places. I didn’t want to be around a lot of people. This place was absolutely perfect. I would recommend that Everyone stays here!
