Beautiful hotel, a short walk from the calas and harbour. Our Junior Suite was very spacious and comfortable. The staff were amazing, reception were very helpful and friendly. There is a beautiful spa pool which you use at any time. The gardens around the pool are gorgeous too! The lady who served us breakfast went above and beyond. A real asset.

The property was cute. There are two pools, one being 24 hours and a restaurant on the property.
The room is a little outdated. The tub in the bathroom is too high, often causing leaks. It feels a little dark in the room with not alot of natural lighting. Nevertheless, the staff was amazing and had good suggestions upon check in.

Had a lovely stay at this hotel - the staff are super friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very nice with lots of choice. The hotel is very conveniently located to the beach and restaurants. The only downside is that most of the sunbeds are in the shade for a lot of the day due to the layout of the pool but that was fine for us! We would definitely stay there again.

The hotel was beautiful and well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful - especially Stefan who works at the reception desk.

The pool area was gorgeous and immaculately clean. Service at the pool area was quick and friendly, although the cocktails were lackluster. We were also surprised to find out that the indoor jacuzzi wasn't kept warm. But if you're visiting Mallorca in the summer like we did, that probably doesn't matter much.

The hotel is located a walkable distance to local coves/beaches and the city center with many shops and restaurants nearby. The marina is also technically walkable but a bit of a hike.

Overall an amazing experience that I highly recommend!

Area accessoble for walking shopping and beaches.
Food at this hotel was amazing.
Rooms were opulent with an indoor heated pool and an outside heated pool. Jaccuzi bath in every room as well as jaccuzzi in indoor and outdoor pools. Free pool towels. Pool set in lush green gardens with sun beds that are fabulous they are like your own bed.

Brilliant boutique hotel

We’ve just returned from a fab week st Melia Boutique Cala D’or. We travelled as a family with a toddler and I can honestly say it’s one of the best holidays we’ve ever had. The hotel is set in beautiful well kept grounds, the staff were all very friendly and helpful and the amenities were brilliant.

We particularly loved the all-hours access indoor pool and spa facilities.

The playground was a huge hit with our son, as was the pool.

Thank you to your wonderful staff for making our holiday an unforgettable one!

Quiet, very tranquil and good amount of green space within the hotel - with trees and a nice lawn around the rooms and swimming pool. A nice outdoor and indoor swimming pool with jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and a gym. Nice restaurant though we didn't eat there - leisurely walkable distance to the coves/beaches, marina and town centre with plenty of restaurants.

The rooms were spacious and nice and clean with a mini bar. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful quiet hotel. Incredibly friendly staff. The food was excellent. The pool was very relaxing with no loud music which seems to be the normal these days round pools. The room was very clean and well equipped. It was only a short walk to the town centre with loads of restaurants and bars. Will be returning again soon.

We were put into a room initially that was overlooking the pool nd bar having asked at the time of booking for a quiet room away from lifts. They then - after a 2 hour wait to clean it - were put into a room that was at the side of the hotel and we had to contend with waiters throwing ice and water from wine buckets into he garden with force at 10 at night, and we were over the housekeeping/delivery area which was noisy from 6am to 11 at night. The air conditioning was poor and barely worked so in hot temperatures it was hard to sleep but we couldn't open the doors because of the location of the room. The pool area was dirty much of the time with cookery and cutlery thrown around everywhere that hadn't been cleared away. There was no security at the hotel at all with easy access from the back of the hotel for anyone to come into and people did, using the pool and lingers and towels etc without being residents and blatantly walked out back to their own accommodation at the end of the day.We did raise the issue of moving again but were told that it wasn't possible. A lovely island and a hotel that has huge potential but unfortunately didn't meet it. Other people will, I'm sure, have had a different experience.

This is the second time we've stayed at the Melia and it didn't disappoint. It feels like a little oasis where you instantly relax - gorgeous pool area, lovely staff. We were luckily enough to be upgraded to a junior suite this time which was the cherry on top!

Perfect Hotel in Quieter Part of Ton

Stayed for a week at Melia Cala D'or between 23rd and 29th April. Hotel was relatively quiet as season hadn't really begun which was perfect for us. Lovely facilities including indoor and outdoor pools. Staff were all without fail very friendly. We stayed in a Junior Suite which was very comfortable and spacious with a great balcony with sun in the afternoon. We ate one night at the hotel and the food was great. Also had a very good buffet breakfast one day but our rate didn't include breakfast - at 20 euro per person it does add up - and if you decide to eat elsewhere the main town is less than 10 minutes walk away. In addition the marina is 15 minutes walk - both the town and marina have stacks of restaurants - and we didn't have a bad meal all the week we were there. Would not hesitate to stay here again or to recommend this hotel.

Very nice hotel in good location

I booked this particular hotel because it has a Hamam and spa facility. When I checked in the staff informed me that they needed 30 minutes to heat up the spa. Fair enough. I requested it to be turned on for 1630 hrs and when I went to use it There were signs saying that it was out of order. Not only the hamam but also the steam room and shower massage. The sauna was barely warm. Then I tried to book a massage for that day or the next with nothing available either. So I decided to go for a swim.... But the pools and jacuzzi shuts down at 1800 hrs. and also found out that they don't open it until 1000 in the morning. disappointing at best.

Oasis of calm in middle of very busy resort

After an unfortunate incident in which the bus driver was initially unable to attract the attention of the night porter(we arrived after 2AM)at the locked back gate as large bus unable to drive past front entrance,we had a very relaxing stay.Occurring just at the beginning of our stay,this situation caused unecessary frustration for us,the other bus passengers and not least the driver,and embarrassment for the member of hotel staff on duty.This could be sorted out with a little forward planning about guests' arrival arrangements.
Every thing else about the hotel was fine with the exception of the last morning at breakfast when the choice of bread fell below the usual high standard and some of the pineapple appeared over ripe.Other wise the breakfast was excellent with items such as fresh cherries and hot food cooked to the guest's requirements.Some variation in the dinner menu might be considered also.As a result we were tempted to eat out at the great range of restaurants in the town and especially at the marina.

Perfect relaxing holiday

I was desperate for a holiday, but slightly dubious about going for it by myself. Now that the holiday is over I'm so glad I went and picked the Melia as my choice of hotel. The grounds aren't large and it's in a busy neighbourhood, but you feel that you're in your own oasis.
Whilst at the Melia the staff were very helpful, and always had a smile on their faces. They organised a trip to the local golf course, which was amazing and definitely worth a visit. I left it too late to get a massage at the spa so can't comment on the spa.
A definite recommendation is to go on a bike trip, the hotel offers bikes for free but if you are going to go anywhere of any distance I would recommend the local bike hire shop around the corner. It cost me 15 Euros to hire a (hybrid) bike for the day, I travelled to Porto Colom. The round trip took about 2.5 hours plus a 2 hour stop I had in Porto Colom where I found this great Tapas bar (Florian) along the harbour edge.

Lovely hotel

Lovely hotel. Very friendly staff. Stylish clean rooms, good size balconies and lovely lush grounds. Pool area is gorgeous, with cabanas and loungers in gardens so you can always find a spot in the sun. Good location for going for a walk to get an icecream or to the beach. 10 mins from restaurants so not very noisy on an evening, could hear some music when on the balcony but silent when the door was shut. Plenty of room for car parking.

Relaxing in comfort

A lovely place to recharge the batteries. If you are after a quiet relaxing holiday, then this is the place for you. Its our first time in Cala Dor and there does not seem to be too much noisy nightlife, which suited us. The hotel is lovely and we only booked a standard room which was perfect. We chose to eat out most nights but when we stayed in the hotel, the food was excellent. You can even get your ration of fried egg and bacon in the mornings.
We will going back.

Beautiful Grounds & Pool

This is a beautiful spot, a quiet oasis amidst an ocean of restaurants and entertainment spots Our junior sweet was nicely furnished, the pool on this property is truly a beautiful spot. Our junior sweet was large, with a very large bath and nice balcony. The fitness room is large and sunny with a reasonable amount of equipment and dumb bell rack (but no weight bench). If you want to stay in Cala d'Or this is a great choice. It is very short walk to the beach.That said, the beaches in this area are small and very crowded. This was our first trip to Mallorca, should we return, we would stay on the northern part of the island.

Lovely staff, food very good although a little limited on evening meal menu. If you're a sun worshipper with small children meaning you want to be around the pool you might be disappointed as most beds are shaded for a large part of the day. Ask for a room on ground floor - lovely patio area and beds right outside your door in gardens.

Lovely boutique hotel in an ideal location.

Had a really nice week at the Melia in Cala d'or. Everything about the hotel was spot on. Room was clean and spacious (the bed was massive!). Staff were always friendly and helpful and the hotel, grounds and pools are gorgeous. Around the outside pool each pair of sun beds are separated by little hedges so you always have a bit of privacy. There are sun beds and cabanas dotted around the gardens so we had no trouble finding somewhere to relax. The pool bar staff are excellent and will even come and find you in your cabana to deliver a cold beer.
Plenty of beaches, bars and restaurants a short walk away. This resort has something for everyone - it caters for couples or people with families, you can find your English Bar and Sunday lunch, but there are also lots of smart bars and restaurants serving authentic Spanish food and Tapas. The Marina area is a little further away, about a 20 minute walk. This was where we had most of our meals, we tried all of the Spanish restaurants on the Melia side of the Marina and we never had a bad experience. There is also a really good Thai restaurant there. All of the staff in all of the restaurants were excellent. The service was always very good, they seemed to know if you wanted a quick meal or if you were in a more leisurely mood and wanted to watch the millionaires yachts coming and going in the Marina. Take your sunglasses though, if you sit near the water just before sunset the sun is low in the sky and shines right in your eyes

Super hotel, attentive staff, wonderful breakfast, rooms spotless with great balconies, definitely book a junior suite if you can with pool facing balcony. The location is great with very quick access to the Cala Gran Beach and 5 minutes walk to all the restaurants and bars. We would definitely return.

WE WENT BACK

Going back says it all, surely. This is a very well kept, friendly boutique hotel offering peace close to the busy centre of Cala D'Or. The reception was excellent from Esperanza and the others but it was she who suggested a room change to a better view. The room cleanliness is excellent. The facilities are as you would expect; good breakfast, pool etc. The only surprise is that the back gate is open to all comers so it canm be used as a cut through; it should have a security lock opened with a room key as other hotels have.

serious lack of attention for details

The hotel itself was quite nice but the quality of the service was really, really poor. The hotel food was very bad and extremely overpriced. A Cesar salad for example, composed of 2 leaves of lettuce (wrong type), a couple of apple and chicken slices, and topped with yogurt and cereal breakfast! (very creative chef but not in a good way) was 14 Euro! Although the room was nicely cleaned, the maid would systematically move all our stuff all around the place and not bother to replace used coffee/sugar. As a matter of fact it took 3 days to replace the coffee we used on the first day and it was never replaced after. The pool area was very nice however completely shaded by trees apart of 4 sun loungers whilst the (always empty restaurant) took all the sunny part. So many tables for so little customer (due to very poor food) just did not make sense when there was not other area to sit in the sun. Nether the less we had to wait for ages to be served a cup of coffee as the waiter seems to find more important business to attend than serve the only 2 customers he had (chatting on the phone, mopping the floor, etc). The problem with this hotel is quite simple, no manager to be seen and you can really feel it. In conclusion, a lot of room for improvement.

Melia Cala D'Or is a fabulous hotel

We absolutely loved Melia Cala D'Or and its location. The grounds are spectacular, the rooms are large and comfortable and the bath rooms immaculate. Shower is also excellent with great water pressure. The hotel deserves 5 stars on every level. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. We also appreciated having our cappuchino each morning as the hotel provides a fancy Nespresso machine. The personnel is very friendly and goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. Everything about the Melia D'Or is high quality and classy. We definitely recommend this hotel.

Wonderful hotel- fully recommend

Beautiful and well furnished hotel with lovely comfortable rooms. Had a long romantic weekend and the quality of the fittings and furniture of all of the facilties made this the perfect place to be. Breakfast is superb. The pool area well presented and clean. The toileties in the room are fantastic. Even got sky sports (not news) on the TVs. Would definitely go back.
