Breakfast was truly the highlight of our stay—it gave us the perfect boost of energy to get out and explore each day. The food was fresh and delicious, with plenty of great options. The staff was warm, welcoming, and always friendly, making the mornings even more enjoyable. Our room was spotless and very comfortable, which made coming back at the end of the day so relaxing. Overall, a wonderful experience!

I had an excellent stay at ICON BCN and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Barcelona.

The location is amazing.
Super convenient to everything and everywhere.
You are surrounded by a supermarket and great pockets of local restaurants, which makes daily life easy. The hotel entrance is unique, and the back and lower level where breakfast is served offer plenty of space to relax and enjoy the experience. I also loved how close it is to a kids gym and activity center. Seeing local kids and parents together gave the area a very authentic neighborhood feel.

I give this hotel 5 stars for the following reasons.

• Outstanding proximity
• Responsive and friendly front desk and staff
• Very reasonable pricing for both family trips and business stays compared to nearby hotels
• Strong focus on staying competitive while still delivering quality care
• Amazing breakfast team. Special shoutout to Marta and Irish for taking care of every guest, even during the busiest hours
• Excellent breakfast selection
• Big thanks to the front desk for preparing a breakfast picnic box for my early departure

A few areas for improvement.

• Some room maintenance needed attention. The toilet paper holder was broken on arrival and there was visible floor wear
• Housekeeping was consistent overall, but two days stood out where the cleaning was less detailed

Overall, it has been a great stay.

Pros: great central location, nice modern lobby with plenty of seating, free breakfast was good. It was European style.

Cons: rooms was run down with hole in walls and markings, lots of mold in the shower, housekeeping never stocked the toilet paper (we had to go to the front desk for it 3x)
Marta at the front desk wasn't very pleasant. My 3 star rating is because every single night past 9 am their were 3 kids running, screaming and banging around. The last night I called the front desk to report the inappropriate behavior and it took over an hour for those kids to stop.

Great location, very friendly staff, cute boutique hotel. The breakfast spread was very good with amazing selections. The negatives were that it is very noisy (thin walls) and hotel is on automatic heat during winter months except 4th floor where you can control the temperature. After 2 nights of overheating, we asked to be moved the the 4th floor and they did without any issues. I just wished we would have known prior to checking in. I would come back and stay!

I stayed 3 days two night I had to hear all the noise of the school besides which starts at 8 am and the second night it was 9pm and the kids where still shouting!!! I went to the lobby and people couldn’t resolve it at all. It was until the last night that the manager could change my room and he was very kind but o would not recommend stayin there if you get any of the rooms in the back of the hotel. In fact they told us was given an upgrade of my first room and it was really fair nothing special.
One other thing the A/C of the hotel was turned off and the heating on. That should only depend on the guest preferences

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming — they let us check in much earlier than expected, which was such a nice surprise after a long flight. I had a lovely clean room with a little deck. The bed & pillows were comfortable. The towels & bathroom amenities were nice. I was given a robe, which I believe came with the VIP Expedia booking.
The downside was smelling cigarette smoke off & on in my room. I did tell the management (as I wondered if someone was smoking in one of the rooms). They checked it out but found no reason. I felt listened to, even if the situation was unresolved.
Hotel is within walking distance of main attractions. The metro is also nearby.
Staff were wonderful; friendly & very helpful.

We had such a lovely time at the Icon BCN this July! The staff were so warm and welcoming. The front desk was always ready to help with city maps, suggestions and even booked lunch reservations for us upon arrival. The breakfast area was beautiful and the hotel provided a vast selection of delicious foods. The service during breakfast was also amazing, and Chaima who tended to our table was just wonderful. Last, but certainly not least, the hotel’s location is stellar! We were a group of 9, ages ranging from teens to seniors, and we walked to almost all the major sites.

Centrally located hotel in a nice area of Barcelona. Quad room bunk bed fit my 6ft teen. Hotel staff was exceptionally nice and the free breakfast had so many options, including a mimosa. AC was great with the hot summer weather. I would definitely return!

Hotel in excellent location to walk to main attractions which was main reason for picking it. When we arrived we had amazing reception, and throughout the stay all the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Room for family of 4 with 2 bunks was bigger than expected and bonus that it had little balcony connecting to the pool area. Breakfast was lovely - plenty of choice and options to have other things made in kitchen. Would definitely stay again.

Property is more of a boutique style hotel.
Not too many people milling about and crazy busy. Older architecture.
Clean hotel and attentive staff.
Location is okay
The bad: Awful coffee, cold scrambled eggs, breakfast was just okay.
Noisy room from external playground next to playground. Noise from corridor. No slippers or bathrobes. Cannot adjust room temperature

The verdict: Would I stay here again? Maybe not. Definitely overpriced for what is offered.

I chose this hotel because of the feedback about the free buffet breakfast spread and I was not disappointed. Quite a variety of food was presented on a buffet table and what is on offer varied daily. Very good coffe also! The hotel is very safe to walk at night (there is a huge church next door!) and walkable to Plaza Catalunya where one can get the airport bus, tours and other public transport. Also walkable to Las Ramblas, Gothic quarters, theatres (including Flamigo performace), shopping and assortment of places to eat. They have an in-house restaurant named Mezza that is good if one check-in lates and can't be bothered to go out. You can also order food to bring to your hotel room! Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.

Really nice hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. We were given our room straight away despite arriving before 10am. The room was spacious and very clean with Molten Brown toiletries.
The breakfast selection was plentiful and there were options available to order such as omelette or other hot items.
The only drawback for us was that they were replacing the air con units that weekend so the temperature in our room was not manageable.

This hotel has everything you need. It’s close to major sites, transportation, shopping and dining. The property is very nice, welcoming and smells wonderful. Our room had everything we needed and was very comfortable.
What makes this hotel so wonderful is the staff. Everyone in housekeeping, reception, bar, restaurant always greeted us and were so helpful and so friendly. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be staying here on our next trip to Barcelona.

There's a school directly behind the hotel. The buildings are attached. From the window of the room of the hotel you can see the play ground/yard of the school. In the early morning 7am or so all the kids go out to the yard to play and you could clearly hear all the yelling for several hours. Definitely no sleep and the hotel does NOT tell you anything about it.

A good location, not too far from Casa Battlo or Park Guell or Sagrada Familia or the Gothic Quarter/beach. Walked most places, but also easy to get a cab and easy to take the subway. Room was similar to the size of a standard American hotel room not too tiny. King size bed for the Parents and a bunkbed for the kids so less complaints about kicking! The top bunk is not for really little ones as there is not a railing across the top like there is in the US. There was only the height of the ladder itself as a barrier. Beds were comfortable, however, and the air conditioning worked well and the hotel was well appointed. Lost use of the hot water on the last night and they gave us a discount without asking. The included breakfast was a very nice selection of hot and cold foods.

Disappointing for a 4* Hotel

Somewhat disappointing for a 4* hotel. Rooms, bathrooms and decor are dated and tired and in need of refurbishment. Shower door seals and shower head leaked. Sealant was mouldy and needed replacement. Staff very attentive though and keen to please. Breakfast was busy and noisy in the echoey basement. Hotel works a lot with large tour groups. Breakfast was fair with a lot of choice. Location is extremely good and within 15-20 minutes walking distance of most key sights.

Absolutely enjoyed my stay here at Icon BCN. It is in a great location, accessible to public transportation and nearby neighborhoods including Gothic Quarter. Rooms were great. Our first room had an issue with the heating system and the staff did everything they could to accommodate and help resolve the issue. Special thanks to the most friendly and responsible staff for making our time here extra. I highly recommend that you book with breakfast as the breakfast buffet was also amazing. Will definitely return when visiting Barcelona.

A Great Hotel in Downtown Barcelona

The Icon BCN hotel was a wonderful place to stay in Barcelona, and we would recommend it highly for anyone looking for a classy, well run hotel in the center of the city.

Pros:

— perfect location, a few meters from a main thoroughfare but just distant enough to be more quiet
— many central sites (e.g., Casa Battlo, the Cathedral of Barcelona, Las Ramblas) are within walking distance
— friendly, helpful staff
— charming mix of old and new architecture
— abundant breakfast and good on-site restaurant
— well lit rooms with interesting touches

Cons
— of the two USB charging ports in our room, one did not work at all, while the second just trickled electricity into our devices (e.g., leaving a cell phone plugged in overnight would only provide a charge of ca. 20-30 percent)
— the shower is fine, but after taking a shower, the water would have leaked onto the bathroom floor

All in all, a great place to stay in this exciting city.

A very pleasant stay at Icon BCN. Ample space in the rooms, a great pool area and many areas to relax in throughout the hotel. Location is walkable distance to metro, casas and La Rambla. The highlight for us was the food and service at the breakfast buffet. The range of food was great, assortment of bread and pastries, cold meat, hot dishes, eggs and pancakes made on request, multiple coffee machines. Very enjoyable experience. We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Icon BCN. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our very spacious room was beautiful and spotlessly clean, and well equipped with minibar and coffee maker. Our room also included a little living room area with a couch to relax in. The bathroom was very spacious, and the sink was smartly designed - it had a large counter space on both sides of the sink and a large shelf below. No struggling to accommodate toiletries. The breakfast room was also spacious, and the included breakfast was very good. Mezza, the on-site restaurant and bar, was also spacious and welcoming. We had one meal there and the food was good.

An excellent hotel. The room was nice and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located north of the gothic quarter but is still accessible for those who enjoy walking. Thank you!
