Absolutely loved our stay at the BGH! Our only complaint? We only stayed one night and couldn’t fully enjoy the room (Treetop Suite) or amenities (cruiser bikes). So happy we found this little oasis in Boise and will definitely stay again if we have the chance. Couldn’t recommend highly enough. Find a reason to go through Boise and stay here!!

The Boise Guest House is our goto place to stay when we come to Boise for an event. It's always quiet, and there's a small backyard with tables and chairs to sit in. Checking in is always easy. The room we stay in is set up like a Studio apartment with a kitchen area. I'm sure the rest are the same. We'll be back again and again.

Great place, although would ask for for room other than #2 only because it faces the front and anyone walking by can look in. Only other thing is bed was really soft. Room is otherwise lovely, well set up with little kitchen and fridge. Place is close to the capital and easy walking distance to downtown Boise. -

We just had an amazing 3-night stay. Arrived at noon and called the number on the door to ask if we could drop our bags in the hallway, before 3pm check-in. Daniel said our room was ready and let us in early. Also let us drop our bags in the laundry room for a few hours after checkout. They provided extra propane for the BBQ and fire pit. Free bicycles that we used 4 times. Two nice backpacks that we used to go shopping at Albertsons with, via the bikes. Full kitchen setup. Perfect location to walk to anything downtown. We biked to Albertsons Stadium for a Boise State football game. Biked through Julia Davis Park and the Boise State campus. We highly recommend BGH and will be back!

Boise Guest House: Disappointing and Overpriced

Boise Guest House is an antiquated rooming house which might appear to be charming from the descriptions but is actually quite disappointing. Our $200+ room was listed as a 'story suite' but was actually a cramped single room with a bunch of random items--microwave, refrigerator, table--added to make it seem like more than just a room. None of the furniture matched and the chairs provided were the wrong height for the table. The 'bathroom' sink is tiny and actually located in the room, not in the bathroom. The building itself is over 100 years old and is many ways that's obvious. For example- the area for hanging clothes was not a closet but rather a small very dark curtain-shrouded niche next to the bed, about two feet in height, that was actually pretty scary looking. As it was so low it was necessary to bend way over to either place clothes there or retrieve them. Finally, they have a self check in system, which is convenient, but as a consequence, no staff are on the premises, making the whole experience a bit creepy. The Boise downtown Hyatt, a few blocks west, is a much better deal for $40 less--huge room, brand new facility with a pool and a great breakfast.

The property was fabulous. Very centrally located. Great for a family (only downside the bathroom was in the bedroom with the queen. And the room was VERY warm - we turned down all the heat to 55 which helped. All in all the it was set up will and there was not an amenity that was missing. A Gem in the Gem State

Lovely spot within walking distance of everything, be it the conference center, local night life or nearby hiking trails. I was upgraded to a suite and had a truly lovely experience. Bed was comfy, room was well stocked with everything I could want (including yoga mat and laundry!), Wifi was fast, and the outdoor area was simply beautiful. Lots of privacy as well with my own entrance. Even the price had me smiling. I won't be staying anywhere else in future visits.

The guesthouse is in a great location; close enough to walk to downtown and bike to the Greenbelt. From the Treetop Suite I could see the Capitol dome, and even with the proximity to downtown the neighborhood was quiet. The suite was clean and comfortable with the right combination of old-fashioned charm and modern style. Staff was very friendly. It was a great stay.

This was a great place to stay when traveling through Boise. It's very homey, Airbnb-esque, while still being a hotel. I stayed in Room 3 and it was ideal. It had a full kitchen, living room, access to the backyard, and 2 bedrooms. You also can walk anywhere downtown from the location - it's great!

Such a lovely, historical home! Our room was sweet as could be! We got to hang out on the porch during a rainstorm complete with thunder and lightening which we don't experience in California often! We had a very interesting encounter with a passer-by too which overall added to the charm of porch living! My only drawback to the visit was that there was restoration painting going on and hazard roping off of the home with lead base paint. I get it, but we got some funny looks and comments while hanging out on the porch! Aside from that totally charming !!

The Boise Guest House is our favorite place to stay when we are in town. The location is fantastic with such close proximity to great restaurants and cafes downtown. Each suite has its own magical theme with impeccable design. On top of that, some suites are dog-friendly which is so convenient when traveling with Fido. Classy, cozy, convenient...I hate it when it's time to check out.

The Boise Guest House Annex is in a lovely residential neighborhood easy walking distance to both retail and dining options in historic downtown Boise. Nestled amongst Victorian homes and verdant trees, it is a quiet, peaceful environment. The apartment itself is spacious, well equipped and tidy, with a Boho chic decor and fun original art for purchase.

Walk everywhere.

Close to downtown and many restaurants. A short drive to Art Museum, Zoo, Botanical Gardens, and the airport. Clean, comfortable, quiet. Our room had a living room/kitchen and two bedrooms. Safe feeling area with off-street parking. There were even brownie muffins where you pick up your keys. Would love to stay here again.

This is a cute little place that is very close to downtown. We stayed in the animal trophy room (which has no dead animals, btw.) The room was clean and nice. It has a stove and refrig and would be nice for extended stay. The owners have thought of almost anything that you would need for your comfort.

We were able to check in early while getting to know the delightful Kate, who was cleaning our room. And what a comfortable cozy room! Next best thing to being at home! It was in a quiet residential neighborhood, yet we were only a few blocks from downtown. Could walk to great restaurants and shopping. Had a fantastic time at the Santana concert, came back at 11 pm and totally enjoyed sitting outside on the classic front porch drinking gin and tonics before turning in. You can't do that at a motel! Loved it!

Excellent - loved everything about it. Eclectic charm, plenty of mirrors for putting on makeup in natural light, long mirror for checking full outfit, stove and all necessities to cook in the room, super comfortable bedding, close walk to everything downtown. Home away from home

We received check in instructions by email, and when we arrived, were able to immediately go into our room. The check in was extremely easy, and we loved the on-site parking. Once we got into our room, the first thing we saw was the TV with a fire crackling to welcome us. As we were coming in out of the cold, it was a welcome sight!! The room was perfectly clean and felt like home. The bed was soft and the pillows were comfortable. We enjoyed the kitchen (reheating leftovers! french press coffee!), having the option of the Roku for entertainment, and the clawfoot tub. It felt like a home-away-from-home! It was also within a 10 minute walk of downtown with lots of restaurants and bars to check out. The capitol, only a 5 minute walk away, was fun to see at night as we walked by.

New Home in Boise

I was really torn as to whether I left a review or not....because this place is AWESOME (and I don't want it to get uber popular and change from what it is right now!). I travel for a living, so your standard hotel has lost it's luster to me. This feels like you are staying at an amazing friends house. This is not a standard hotel, and don't expect anyone to check you in...however their attention to details is pretty spot on. The personal touches, good coffee, hot chocolate, and tea choices were refreshing. NO there isn't a gym, NO there isn't a Starbucks in the lobby, and NO there is no pool or hot tub. But if you are weary traveler looking for a slice of true hospitality...this is your jam.

Lovely remodeled turn of the century house

This was a unique experience in that we saw none of the staff during our stay; it's a \"self check-in\" and \"self check-out\", payment in advance.
Our room was the \"Animal Trophy Suite\", and we were very pleasantly surprised at the whimsical decor. Pictures of animals on the walls, and the \"animal trophy\" was a cute double headed plush reindeer above the computer table.
The bed was very comfortable with cotton linens, and tons of pillows.
The suite came equipped with a full kitchen- cabinet with glasses, cups and dishes, a full size refrigerator, 4 burner stove, toaster oven, microwave and coffee maker. Plus a cannister of ground coffee. There was even a computer for our use.
Also available for use were cruiser bicycles. We brought our own, so had no need.
We stayed for 4 nights, and the bathroom was well stocked with plenty of towels.
There was no housekeeping staff that we saw, but if something was needed, there was a number to call.
This is a very old house, and our room had a definite \"tilt\" near the kitchen area, but we loved our stay here and would stay again gladly.

Cool and convenient boarding house

The house is an old boarding house that has been renovated into a super cute and very well stocked B&B. All communications are digital. No onsite staff. Room we had was on main floor and room had bathroom, sink, stove, frig and well stocked pantry (utensils, coffee, plates, cooking stuff, etc). Very close to downtown and nicely renovated.

The room and all decor was really well done. The bed was ok and the AC was very loud. So we didn't sleep well, but everything else was awesome.

Adorable & Charming with Only One Issue

We absolutely loved the charm of the Boise Guest House. The only issue was not being able to sleep well at night with the window AC running as well as the mini-refrigerator kicking on and off. I am a very light sleeper, so I felt like I didn't get the best nights sleep because of all the noise, even my husband who does sleep well woke up saying he couldn't sleep. We weren't sure of the area and how safe it was so we weren't comfortable trying to leave a window open being on the first floor off the porch and be able to turn off the AC unit. Otherwise, extremely charming and was absolutely in love with the room itself! We enjoyed sitting on porch chairs and enjoy the quiet neighborhood. We were able to easily walk to the main drag on 8th street with restaurants and bars too!

Nothing Better in Boise

A home away from home, but so much nicer. I stayed on both ends of a rafting trip, and the owner was extremely helpful in keeping my bags and giving me a free place to park my car for 12 days. Each room is unique, with everything you need for a comfortable, relaxed stay, as well as a quiet back garden for morning coffee. Easy walk to Boise's downtown restaurant/bar district and the river, museum, etc. Can't imagine a better place to stay in Boise.

Boise city center haven

Very accommodating when changing schedule. Near the Capitol and center of Boise. Easy walking to coffee shops and restaurants.
