Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was semi courteous but when i spoke a bit of Spanish, he was nicer. Lobby is ugly. Very good breakfast. 10 min away to cruise terminal.

Expedia said that as a gold member I would get a bottle of water that not only I didn't get it, but thenstaff didn't even knew about it. The safe box didn't work. The securty lock on my bedroom door was broken amd even the frame of the door broken, so i was worriwd amybody could break into the room. The only good thing was the breakfast

Great location, close to shopping and restaurants. Hotel is outdated and some of front desk staff, needs to put more attention to their clients needs. At least to call back when they know, which room had been calling.
I have dietary restrictions, Roberto and Gonzalo made my breakfast experience, enjoyable every single day. Rodolfo too, a wonderful person, who got a bag of ice on a daily basis, for my swollen knee. And last, but not least, Marcelo from the front desk, who brought to my room, the help that I had asked much earlier.
Housekeeping needs more supervision. Cannot bring stain sheets, to change dirty ones. And please check the covers used, when you want to convert twin beds into a king. Also the entrance to level -1 that I had to use to avoid the first set of stairs, is in need of a good cleaning.
Lastly, I appreciate that I was able to check out an hour late, and leave my luggage for few hours, before departing to the airport.
Hope the Administrator, recognizes the people that I mentioned before, because they represent the face of Hotel Cyan de las Americas.

I am booked in here for 13 nights and last night was our first night.I have paid over U$ 1,500.00 in advance to Expedia and we are trapped in this prison for the next two weeks unless Expedia honour their obligations and move us into a reasonable Hotel or a simple Guesthouse.The breakfast cost over U$20 and you need ton see my photos because no one would believe it could be this bad.The will not even give plates to put cooked food on if the had such but only small side plated.i spoke to the Restaurant manager and he could not see anything wrong, which explains everything.This place with the exception of the reception are has not see paint or maintenance for many decades and not years.Expedia please rescue us from this nightmare.

Room facilities was up to our expectation. Clean and Bright. Reception desk service was good, esp. when we need hot water in the night. Restaurant was perfect. Dinner was good and reasonable.
Thanks to the staff on duty who helped with the birthday celebration.
However the breakfast spread could be improved. And step/stair landing at entrance should be improve to allow luggage handling.

The hotel's location was amazing: less than 5 minutes walking from the Colón Theatre and the Obelisk. The bed was very comfortable, though the air conditioner did not get the room cold enough. The breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of options. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely return to this hotel in future visits.

In need of renovation!

On arrival the porter was most helpful although the reception staff were a little stern. On the way to the room there was a bad smell in the corridors. The room was essentially clean except for small areas that had been overlooked which you would expect a top hotel to have dealt with. The hotel was clearly overdue for a bit of TLC.

The breakfasts were good but short on cooked items where there was only scrambled egg and small sausages. Dinner was disappointing. Some items on the menu were not available, there was only one white wine of about the eight listed, and the hotel had no gin. The restaurant staff initially appeared miserable but improved overtime. It may have been more embarrassment than attitude, due to the lack of availability.

The location was very good.

The hotel advertises itself as 4 star, but in our opinion would struggle to make 3 stars. We would not use this hotel again.

Overall the hotel was nice and in a great location. The service was fabulous and very helpful. The clerk spoke very good English and helped me get situated for my vacation. The room was a little outdated and drab but still clean and very comfortable. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby and a supermarket around the corner for my water and soda needs. The Wifi worked great and the room had a small refrigerator.

Good hotel in central location

I was already scheduled to stay at this hotel through a tour company and I booked any additional night to extend my stay in Buenos Aires (so I stayed here for a total of 4 nights in April 2018). I don’t have any complaints from my stay and will try to keep this review factual so you have things to consider when making a decision.

The hotel is centrally located with lots of shopping and food options nearby.

My room was a decent size (two twin beds pushed together to make a king). It was a more classic style décor (large wood built-in closets/storage). Bathroom was a little small. It had a tub/shower combo.

The hotel serves a standard continental breakfast.

There was some confusion about the front desk calling a taxi for me on my final morning, but I was in a hurry so I just walked outside and flagged one down. Another morning they called a taxi for me and it was there within 10 minutes.

Would I recommend this hotel? It really just depends on what you want. If you are looking for a big, modern, American-style hotel then this hotel is probably not for you. It’s more reminiscent of the European-style hotel experience. I did not have any issues with my room or customer service that would prevent me from recommending this hotel

A decent no-frills hotel in upmarket Recoleta that is conveniently located five minutes' walk from the Colon theatre. Many restaurants and coffee shops are close by. The hotel was happy to let us have a late checkout due to an evening flight. No complaints about this inexpensive accommodation. Would stay there again.

Just what the sightseeing public needs

The hotel is located within walking distance to many sites such as the Opera House, and many of the city parks. It's located in a safe area and the hotel staff will recommend local tours that are available and will accept payment at the front desk. Need a cab, let the hotel staff know and one will arrive within a short time. The breakfast buffet is quite extensive and the dining area is spacious and very clean. You can't beat the price and location, not to mention the fine restaurant and bar on the premises.

Great hotel in downtown Buenos Aires

I stayed 13 nights in December 2016.
Location is extremely convenient and secure. Taxis are plentiful at any time.
Hotel staff is friendly, knowledgeable about their facility and the city, and experienced.
Room was comfortable and clean. Minor repair needs were attended to immediately.
Free breakfast buffet is outstanding.
Free Wi-Fi works very well, and without signal drops.
Restaurant and bar facilities, food preparation, and service staff were superior.
Many guests are from Argentina and Brazil, and stay there often.
Excellent value-to-price ratio.

We had a disappointing stay. We arrived and were told, that although they had our booking and had been paid up-front, there was no room available for us. Go elsewhere we were told. They transported us to a nearby hotel, Hotel El Presidente, which was completely unsuitable for us. Wrangling went on between the hotels for a further two hours (this was between 9.00pm and midnight, and us afte,r over 20 hours of flying). At one point the manager of Las Americas told me that he did not care where we spent the night as it was not his problem. Eventually the Las Americas found a room for us. Breakfasts were good on the plus side, and our lavatory broke three times in three days on the minus side.

The hotel had some good features ; the breakfast was fine and a nice room to have it in , the bed was clean and comfortable but the place had serious problems . The shower was almost un-usable . Shower was over small bath with pathetic water pressure. More problematic was the dishonest reception staff . Superficially polite but were doing a taxi con-trick where they won't get you a proper airport taxi but try and get you to pay them first then taxi will attempt to get you to pay twice .

Our stay at Hotel de Las Americas for fifteen days was excellent. This is our yearly hotel of preference. The staff, to name Gustavo, Marcelo and Oscar at the Front Desk; Hernan and Roberto in the restaurant is to name a few of good service at this hotel. The only small complaint this time is that fixtures in the bathrooms should be updated. The restaurant continues to have an excellent breakfast. The location, by far, is the best in the area because it covers all areas that a visitor is looking to see, eat and enjoy the numerous plays, movies and shows.

My experience at the Hotel was good. The Hotel is in a great location for walking to main areas. Has a great breakfast buffet which is a plus when traveling with family. The people at the front desk were very friendly, but a little bit pushy when trying to sell you tours. The bathroom had a water leak and the floor was always a little wet. The only outlet working in the room was the bathroom. Only place where we could charge phone. On a busy weekend the hot water run out, perhaps they had a full house. The day we left the hotel was at 6 in the morning on 8/16/2016, two new faces were at the front desk. This people were not helpful at all, nor friendly, did not say goodby and never offer any help. After staying in hotel for 10 days these new faces were not welcoming at all. Overall , I would recommend this hotel to friends, but I will definitely will tell them what to expect and not to expect.

Staff were polite and available to help and security staff were always in the lobby. We were new to Buenos Aires and appreciated the recommendation to eat at the excellent Cuartito pizzeria. Breakfast buffet was generous and the dining area had a nice feel and was always clean. Hotel exchange rate on our US$ was a bit low and I would recommend using the Nacion bank at the airport.

Excellent reception staff, very efficient and helpful with bookings, information and advice.
We arrived early,before room was ready. I had just a cup of hot water in breakfast room, as I needed to take my medication and we sat there while waiting for our room to be ready.
We were charged for full breakfast even that after 5 nights our flight was leaving early in the morning and we had no breakfast at all, that was not deducted from our bill.
Large bathrooms but could do with 2 towel hooks. Also very noisy and not closing well door in the bathroom.

Convenient location near city centre. Two good restaurants nearby, Paris Torre and Biblio. Also near fruit store, grocery, cheese shop, convenience stores. Banks in the area. Room basic, with tv and minisafe. Wifi good and free. Water system gurgles a bit, air conditioning works but sometimes noisy, usually the room fairly quiet at night.

Comfortable bed and a large room. Bathroom sort of predone, but with no thought. No place to put cosmetics, bidet in the way and doors do not close. Old closets, Sa de not secured to anything, so easy to pick up and remove.

An amazing vacation!

We arrived at the hotel around 9:00am after a night departure from Miami. We were told at the hotel the rooms would be ready at 11:00am instead of the listed 3:00 pm check-in. Excellent staff and rooms. The check-out is at 12:00 noon not 10:00 am. as listed. The daily breakfast is extensive and beautifully prepared. All personnel are friendly and courteous. The hotel is situated in an strategic location, close to everything you need for your stay in Buenos Aires. We will return next year!

Our second stay at this hotel and first recommended by friends from Lima who get to BA more frequently than we do; its an extremely convenient location, the staff are outstanding, and go out of their way to help. Greeted us like long lost friends. The breakfast buffet is excellent and varied, and as a personal touch, our waiter brought fresh squeezed juices and cappuccino each morning. How did they remember that from our previous stay ? Attentive and thoughtful wait staff. Dining room very reasonable and excellent food in case you are worn out and decide not to go out. A nice bottle of Malbec was just $14 and if you can't finish it, they'll have it for you the next evening. A short walk to Ca Florida and the shops, or malls like Patio Bullrich and Pacifico. Plenty of restaurants nearby to select from. Its a great value!

The walls are a bit thin so you might hear the TV in the room next door, so bring ear plugs. Still, the location, price and the breakfast were excellent. I'd book there again, having been to BA many times.

Good hotel but disengaged receptionists

It is a good hotel in a good neighborhood. But the receptionists have been disappointing. They were disengaged and not friendly at all. Otherwise, the hotel is clean. The buffet breakfast was OK with the basics.

Great location. Nice breakfast. Staff unfriendly

Best: impeccable location. Very convenient walk to many places. Nice full breakfast.
Okay: rooms are run down a bit. Also temperature is too warm (but I guess it's typical Buenos Aires). Walls are thin -- can hear noise from next door.

Poor: staff is not friendly. Information provided are okay but I feel they are not willing to provide more helpful info on transportation and such. All they seem to work hard on is to sell tango shows and package tour.

Overall -- excellent value. I would stay there again!

Excellent location

Front desk staff were not particularly helpful. The walls were very thin, and there is no carpeting in the room, so every sound carried. But the location is excellent to lots of places we wanted to go, including shopping on Ave. Santa Fe, Recolleta, Centro, and Retiro districts, and the subway to Palermo was only about 4 blocks away.

very decent place that does not break the Bank

good location, a few minutes walk to a Subte stop. Good breakfast by Argentinian standards (BF is usually not sumptuous in Argentina), even though the offerings are the same every day. room is rather basic, 3-star standard but definitely not more. Clean enough. Front desk wasn't exactly warm-hearted or welcoming, but professional and allowed me a very early check-in which was very much appreciated after my red-eyes-flight from Bogota. Would stay there again, as the rates are affordable.
