Everything and everyone great at Pestana. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome including storing our luggage when we went to the falls for a few days. 24 hour desk to check out at 3:30 am for early flight out, and they pre-arranged for taxi at that time! Great burgers and good prices on good wine. Will definitely stay again!

Terrible front desk. Outdated rooms. The indoor pool is HORRIBLE. As soon as I got to the hotel from the airport, I saw a prostitute in front of the hotel. The front desk guy Luca was rude. I went down to ask for ice and given that the bar area was closed, he sent me out at midnight to get ice from the grocery store he claimed was open but he knew very well that everything was closed. It’s not the safest area given the prostitution around. As a woman, I felt unsafe. Only two staff members made the stay a bit more pleasant: Ana the housekeeper and Edison the bar tender. I told Edinson to go work at a better hotel. He is too nice for that place.

Arrived hours before the check in time, but room was ready and we could unwind after the long flights to Argentina. Room was spartan but clean. We’ve been staying at this hotel for many years, and have seen its slow decline, but the location is great and the staff helpful and welcoming.

It is winter and after requesting a blanket for three consecutive days, I gave up when a staff member mentioned they do not have blankets!
We arrived at 2am due to a plane delayed and there was no one to help us with a cart for luggage.
The checkout this morning had a great gentleman though, very courteous and fast.

The pictures on the Expedia site are VERY misleading.
We arrived at the property and found out it is completely outdated. Room was fairly clean, but paint on doors was peeling off, the floor had water damage (very visible). The beds were clean but very old mattresses. Toilet did NOT flush properly (not enough water). You can tell this property has not been remodeled since the 80's. Closet had no bars to hang anything from, and the staff's attitude was horrible. Every time you asked for anything, they just about rolled their eyes backwards, as if you were asking for the world. The bar selection was pathetic (top whisky was Jack Daniels).. On our last night, my companion sat at the bar waiting for wait stuff so long, he gave up on ordering (and drinks were overpriced too). The word that comes to mind is CATFISHED (the pictures are totally misleading). I could put up with an \"old but clean hotel\", but the staff's attitude really didn't help much. My recommendation: STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

It’s a very nice hotel and the staff are great. It has very nice facilities. The location is great too. The pool/spa was also very good.

The downside is it is a little tired and could use renovating. Everything worked fine and nothing was broken, but bits were worn out. And the WiFi barely worked in our room. The same is true here of the pool/spa.

Location, pool and breakfast bar can’t be beat

Everything was perfect. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, and although our room could have used more furniture than a single chair, the others in our group were better off. The hotel had one of the best breakfast bars I’ve encountered, and the indoor swimming pool was excellent (and the photos accurate). The location was superb, nearly across the street from the opera house and one of the tango shows, and within sight of the obelisk. Only the WiFi was poor.

It has a great view if you are in the above floors. However the hotel itself is very old. Very run down. Its not worth the price tbh unless you are looking for a good view of the city. Its clean but the fact that its so old makes it look dirty. I dont like that i paid almost 180 for one nigtht for a hotel that looks super old. Ive stayed at a cheaper hotel in better condition. Its comfortable for a night or two or if youre passing by but not by any means for a long week.

They gave me room 510, there you can hear clearly the people from room 511.
There were no international plugs to charge your staff.
I had problems with the toilet, and then they change my room and gave me 515. The difference was huge, althoug is a \"similar category\".
The spa is really nice.

Wonderful Stay.....Excellent Location to Explore

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at Pestana. It started immediately when we arrived at 11am after an overnight bus trip from Mendoza.....we were lucky enough that our room was ready and we were upgraded (Expedia Gold)! Our room was on the 4th floor facing the main boulevard, large window with even a partial view of Teatro Colon. The room (404) was spacious, bed & linens were very comfortable. The breakfast provided was tasty. The hotel’s location is very central to many key tourist sights as it is just a few blocks from The Obelisk. But what truly made this hotel stand out for us was the staff....each one we encountered was very friendly and accommodating. We would highly recommend this hotel to any friends visiting.

Amazing location

The hotel is perfectly located for someone looking to explore the many different neighborhoods of Buenos Aires. The Metro D Line is right across the street and takes you everywhere! It was obvious to me that this hotel mostly caters to business guests, but the location works great for leisure travelers too.

Addtionally the staff was great. I came down with a horrible flu and they directed me towards a great hospital and one of the doorman was constantly checking in on me. As I was traveling by myself this was very comforting.

A Great Hotel With Easy Access to Major Attraction

Hotel was mid-priced, in a great location, and in great condition. We did not opt for a deluxe upgrade, which is on upper floors with open balcony. Although we were a little leery about the 4th floor on the blvd side, we didn't find the street noise intrusive and there was a pretty nice view. The front desk staff was always friendly and helpful, especially Christian and Emiliano, who spoke very good english (for us non-spanish speakers). The rest of the staff that we came in contact with were likewise friendly and seemed eager to assist with any questions or issues.
The continental breakfast was more elaborate than expected, with a good variety of items. For us, it was worth the additional price to get a good start in the morning.
Centrally located within walking distance of a number of sights, including the Florida St shopping mall and street fair. One block to bus station and a little further to subway access...so the rest of the city is easily accessible. If you have the chance, the Sunday market in the San Telmo District is worth the time and is only a relatively inexpensive cab ride from the hotel.
We would definitely stay at Pestana again.

Best Hotel in BA

This hotel is first rate, elegant, CLEAN with very knowledgeable staff. Staff couldn't do enough for us. They were able to accommodate us with a spacious room before the 2:00pm check-in. On check out they secured our luggage in a closet so that we could freely do some last minute shopping before we left to go to the airport. Room was spacious and immaculate. Bathroom had every amenity: hair dryer, toiletries, big body size fluffy towels and hand towels. They did not have a wash cloth, so bring your own. The room had the best beds. We asked for two single beds. The two beds were two doubles. They were the BEST. They embraced us in comfy, crisp clean sheets; simply fabulous. The room had an LCD 50 inch TV, adjustable thermostat, big closets, set of drawers, night stand and desk. For US voltage, the electric plug can be found below the desk. Coffee at the bar was wonderful, It was served with small cakes and a little glass of water-Argentine style. Location is perfect for sightseeing and shopping, all within walking distance(4-6 blocks in either direction). Cabs are easy to get, with the help with the friendly concierge. I look forward to staying at this hotel in the future. Great low price for a great hotel.

We stayed there four nights worse view in the back and the beds mattress belong to 30 years ago.
The front desk not freindly and the bell man never helped with the luggage.
Breakfast was very very bad
No fresh fruit and for orange juice they used tang with water and was not anything to eat. I asked the front desk that is our 30th year of anniversary to give us a nice room instead i got ignored

The hotel restaurant was nice for breakfast and lunch. I didn't have dinner there.
The rooms facing the main street (Pellegrini) are extremely noisy. One must have ear plugs (like I did). Otherwise, the traffic noise would be too uncomfortable.
The upgrade to the executive room ($25) is well worth it. The executive room upgrade has a suite with excellent features plus the noise from Pellegrini.

So I stayed there for 4 nights, and from the first day I got attacked badly by bedbugs. They managed well, I have to give them that. They changed my room, watched and steamed all my clothes, and called the doctor. They also payed for the medicine. Rather than this, the hotel is very nice, breakfast is awesome and the majority of the staff is very friendly.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my husband because this is where his school group was staying. Location is in the business district and around many of the sites which is nice. Walking into the lobby the hotel seems pleasant enough but we were put in a smoking room after requesting non. Had to move all of our stuff into a pretty dingy lackluster room. It was not what I had hoped for compared to the other hotel we stayed at which was much better and less expensive. Staff seemed unapproachable. Certianly wouldn't be my choice in this city.

Weekend in BA Argentina

It was a weekend away from a 3 week stint in a small town about 300km away from Buenos Aires. The hotel was a refreshing reprieve from the small poorly maintained antiquated hotel where I stayed during the previous week. The food in the restaurant was very good and the hotel room was quiet -which is important to me.

In reception there is a big sign offering an upgrade to a luxury room at $25 a night. Howver, the accompanying picture is of a suite and is not the room you will find ytourself in. My wife arrived at the hotel before I did and staff would not allow her to access the room. I found that bizarre as the booking was clearly for two guests. After making up the room the maid left no additional shampoos, toilet paper etc.
