The room provided everything we needed and was quite clean except for some mold in the shower, which is probably unavoidable as the property is not new. Kudos to the hotel for using dispensers for soap and shampoo rather than tiny disposable bottles and soaps. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast buffet was good and scrambled eggs were available on demand.

Carsson hotel is a lovely antique style building! Rooms are ok sized ! Bed slept well and bedding comfy ! Rooms are not sound proof! Daily breakfast is basic not much options ! Staff members are very helpful and kind ! Hotel is in a good location next to everything! Price you pay is well affordable for what you get ! Enjoyed my stay and looking forward to returning again once more ! Recommend you give it a try won’t disappoint!

Hotel under construction

The hotel is under renovations. The room I was placed in was outdated and rooms next to it were still under construction - constant workers and the constant smell of fresh paint. If you stay, request a room on the 5th floor or higher / away from the construction. The location is ideal and the staff is very friendly. If you want air conditioning, ask them to turn it on at check-in they have the master control!! But relatively clean and safe.

Just try a little bit to help the gust

1. I booked double bed room . It is in the first floor and I wanted to change to high floors which is more quiet. They gave me a 2 beds room in 5 floor. But when I got inside the room and found that the bed was too small for me . The first time for me to watched a so small bed. I wanted to change back to the double size room. The said only tomorrow morning as I checked in. But tomorrow morning they said there was no room and could help me to change later. But they never changed the room for me during the whole week when I staying there.2. I need to reactive the card almost everyday. 3.the elevator was in a bad situation and i was kept inside once as there some one is other floors tried to open the gate whe the elevator was coming. It means anyone could block others inside the elevator anytime. The service really made me down. I think they just try a little bit more, the traveler’s hard life could come more better.

Central location was within walking distance of historic sites, restaurants and shopping.
One of the front desk staff was particularly helpful to us, Denise. My wife and I were 3 days in Buenos Aires without our suitcases, the airline had mislaid them. We were desperate to get our bags back from the airline and Denise got on the phone with the airline and kept calling and calling to get our bags returned to us. We were successful in the end but without Denise's help it would have taken several days longer. We really appreciate Denise's help, she was fantastic!!

I stayed here for 2 nights in early December 2017. Reception staff spoke English and were always helpful when I asked questions. My first floor room was spacious with a decent bathroom. The décor may be somewhat dated, but the hotel and its location were fine for me. It was less than 10 minutes to Ave 9 de Julio with a choice of nearby Subte/metro stations. It was a 20 minute walk from Terminal Madero, where I arrived/left using the Tienda Leon airport bus service. I heard little traffic noise from my room. This wasn't a luxury hotel, but it was fine for a mid-priced, city centre hotel, and I would certainly stay here again.

This hotel is located in a good part of Buenos Aires. There is a restaurant/bar downstairs. I was not a fan of the small rooms with bad wi-fi. The property itself seems old, needs upgrading. No breakfast offered. Service was okay.

Do not recomend hotel!

During this trip, my friends and I have stayed in Rio de Janeiro, Iguazu Falls and Curitiba. The hotels were wonderful in all places in Brazil. When I looked at the Carsson Hotel, I saw the beautiful hall and garden; so I assumed the rooms would be of the same beauty. I was so wrong, and embarrassed for putting my friends in rooms that belong on a 2 star category hotel.
The only nice experience, besides being close to the la Florida Street, was a young bellman named Lucas; very polite and helpful.

No lobby bar? No good!

Firstly, I arrived at 11am and was told my room wouldn't be ready until 2 o'clock - being a 23 year old girl on her own and a bit nervous the staff weren't very helpful in where I could go to wait until my room was ready. Also, online and in the information book in the bedroom it says that the lobby bar is open from 11am-11pm. When I went down in the evening to get some food and drink I was told that the lobby bar is never open! Not good.

The room was very small and basic and very loud throughout the night - lots of banging which meant you couldn't sleep very well. Breakfast isn't amazing either - nothing cooked. Just fruit, toast, croissants and some cheese and ham. The outside area is a tiny courtyard with a statue and some plants. Only good thing was there was WIFI access.

The street the hotel is situated isn't the best (could make you feel a bit nervous) but, the location is great and there is a shopping mall about 3 minutes walk away. You can change money in the mall (If you want to change money in the mall they only take $50 and $100 dollar notes) or at the newspaper stands in the middle of the street or from a man which shouts 'cambia' - they do a better deal than the hotel.

I won't stay here again.

I found the reception very cold and unforthcoming with any information. This could be because of the English barrier. Always speaking to the pint and yet time it was curt.

Hotel lacks some basic stuff like steam iron, water kettle; difficult to control the AC. Room was clean and maintained everyday with pomp. Got locked out twice in my 7 days stay clearly is an indication that stuff require evading.

Breakfast spread good and the usual bread, cakes and like bakery stuff.

Id like to give this hotel a negative score if I could. The service was terrible. R room had a left over sandwich on the floor and was very unclean. It stank a lot as well. When we asked for an upgrade (we were happy to pay for it), we got turned down. We were told that the hotel was booked out, but there was a lot of paintwork going on as well. The only good thing was the locality of the hotel.

Comfortable place to stay!

Hotel Carsson provided a comfortable stay. Whilst our room showed signs of age and was a little run down, the bathroom appeared to have been recently renovated and it was obvious, by the new carpet in the lobby and painters busy at work in the hallways, that the hotel were at least making an effort to freshen the place up. The buffet breakfast was generous and we found the hotel staff throughout were polite and only more than willing to help. The hotel is in a good central location, close to shops, small supermarkets and restaurants. I would recommend staying here.

The hotel, while in an older building, it well maintained and very pretty. The staff was friendly and bilingual. They were great at offering suggestions of places to visit, shows to see, exchange money and call for a private car to the airport. The room was smaller than an average room and had 2 single beds. It was clean and comfortable with shampoo and soap provided. The downside to our room was the bathroom which was extremely small and cramped. Breakfast was not included in our room rate, but there's a bakery close by with delicious pastries. We appreciated that wifi was included in our rate as it allowed us to stay connected and plan the remainder of our trip.

We stayed at Hotel Carrson for a few days before returning home. Our room, while small with 2 single beds, was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was extremely small for large people but was sufficient for our needs. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and recommended shows and other entertainment as well as assisted us with currency exchange, private car arrangements among other things. We were happy to have wifi, even though the password expired every 24 hours. Breakfast was not included, but the hotel is next door to and excellent bakery. The hotel is conveniently located and easy to get to which is great for tourists.

When I arrived, the doorman/bellboy did not open the door for me. The service desk was helpful in charging my phone as I forgot a converter. The room itself was very homey and clean, though no view. Shampoo and bar of soap provided. The lobby had great ambiance. When I left, the doorman also did not open the door for me or helped me place my suitcase in the taxi. As for location---it is right next to the pedestrian-only street (Florida) and good place for shopping. Also, close to all other touristy sites - I walked to the Avenue de Mayo from the presidential square site - (Rosa Casada?) to the congressional site, also close to the obelisk, cafe tortini. I walked most of the time, but the metro system is also very easy to use. After sunset though, everyone disappears near the hotel, and it feels like a creepy dark alley. So I usually try to make it back prior to sunset as a solo female traveler. No real other complaints of the hotel - except the doorman, otherwise was pretty much left alone to do my thing.

Your enjoyment will depend on the room you get

Stayed twice in short succession. If the second stay was refundable I wouldn't have gone back. After the second stay, I would happily return. Two totally different rooms (same price etc when booking) and floors but one was dark, airless (smokey thanks to the ventilation) and the other light, spacious and a pleasure to be in. Apart from that, the service, cleaniless and price was excellent (plus FREE wifi which is a major plus considering that a lot of hotels are now charging high US$ rates for this service).

Esse hotel deveria ter qualificação de 2 estrelas, e nunca de 4. O café da manhã era fraco, e nem manteiga tinha. Meu quarto era pequeno e sem suporte para malas. A janela tinha uma veneziana que não abria e dava para uma área interna toda pichada e suja. As camas eram ruins e pequenas. Mas o pior era o banheiro. O box era de 60cmx60cm, mal dava pra vc se mexer. O vaso ficava a 25cm da parede do box, ou seja para sentar vc tinha que ficar de lado ou batia no box. O papel higiênico era da pior qualidade. As toalhas estavam todas desfiando. Um hostel 3 estrelas seria melhor.
