The room was good. The reception woman was rude the man was nice.
The breakfast was good with good variety but the scrambled eggs were always cold because they forgot to put the fire under the egg container and sometimes people left the lid off of it after taking their eggs.
The biggest problem is that everything at breakfast had sugar in it except for the eggs and the cheese. They could offer some Media Luna and yogurt choices that don't have sugar.

Hotel Grand King is a nice hotel in a good location close to the Obelisco and surrounded by plenty of shops and restaurants. The reason I am giving such a high score, however, is due to the staff - Patricia in particular - who went above and beyond in trying to help when my luggage was delayed. Muchos gracias Patricia!

Is a nice hotel, Not AIR CONDITIONER, the customer service is terrible, no one from management contact me about the situation. I arrived to the hotel for my check in, and the same moment the receptionist tells me that the air conditioning did not work, that if I stayed or wanted to cancel. They charged for 4 stars hotel, when is not deserve it. I was in September 2022 and it didn't work either.

Great walkable location for just about everything. Pedestrian street near main avenues and subway stations. Friendly helpful multilingual staff -- they will call you a taxi that arrives in 5 minutes--and will look up the fare for the distance for you in advance! Rooms are basic with minibar, but with enough space for your own cheaper purchase of bottled water, etc. each day from nearby shops. Some concerns--not limited to this hotel. During summer heat waves in Buenos Aires (90 degrees); air conditioning is strained and low or non-existent in some buildings. (Here: tolerable--they also let you know on check-in if it's a problem). Many buildings (and subways) have limited elevator access and many steps to navigate. This one has two six-person elevators and ramps, but not to the lowest level where breakfast buffet is located (costs extra): that requires 5 steps down from landing. There's a great little bakery on corner for coffee and pastry, but I would not recommend the hotel for someone dependent on a wheel chair. But I would gladly stay here again.

The staff were excellent. There were always two people at the desk and one always spoke English. They helped with directions, currency exchange info, booking a tango show and flight check in. It is on a quiet walking street 1/2 block away from Florida street a busy pedestrian shopping area.The security guard was very pleasant and helped truck my luggage to where Uber picks up. The room itself was very basic but clean with good beds.

I only stayed 2 nights, but the property worked for me. Solo traveller, enjoyed that it was clean, modern and in the middle of it all. My room (1104) had a window but facing a wall about 15 feet away, but that did not bother me as I did not spend much time in the room. Check in and check out was easy, luggage storage, walking distance to subway and sights. Would stay there again.

As in most hotels abroad, the room air conditioner worked well and the breakfast was worth the price.
The location was great. right near the corner of Lavelle and Florida, where the street performances range from comedy routines to Tango exhibitions.

It's a short walking distance to the Obelisk and the Cateredral Sube station.

Don't count on any help from the staff if you don't speak spanish. It was frustating

Close to Everything!

Overall our stay was pleasant.Would we stay again?Yes, but we would make sure we bring ear plugs. We paid for a Junior Suite with views of the city, on the 8th floor next to elevator. The room was spacious, nice except that we could hear everything that was happening outside our room, the noise from the elevator, the people next door and the noise from the street.
The room was clean (although it could be cleaner, floors were a bit dusty). The view from the window was fantastic, especially at night. Bathroom was nice and spacious, only down side was that the hot water takes a while to work and complimentary bathroom soap/shampoo/toiletries was basic and limited. There was no mini fridge, which was disappointing as you would expect to have one in a Junior Suite. There was only 1 channel on TV that has English speaking shows. But if you are a Spanish speaking visitor, then the cable TV has plenty to offer.
Breakfast is great if you like pastries. They had a great selection of pastries, fruit salad, two types of scrambled eggs, different types of breads, nice variety of cereals,dulce leche, nice coffee. And Breakfast staff was very lovely and friendly. Only down side was the Juice, it tasted artificial.
Staff from the reception was not welcoming or approachable. We felt uneasy with asking them for any assistance as they never smiled and it seems like they would rather be elsewhere than help guests.
Lobby was tiny.
Elevator can only carry 3 people at a time, which was always busy

Attractive at first, but...

The front view and the lobby/reception/dining areas are modern and very attractive. The desk and housekeeping staff were very helpful and friendly. However, the guest rooms were old- and worn-looking and poorly maintained. Dripping faucets, leaky bathtub, worn-out carpeting, thin pillows and low bed were some of the problems areas the hotel needs to address.

Totally ignored by reception staff on arrival and it took me ages to check in. Told English speaking but not so first night.
Foyer looks modern and smart, rest of hotel and rooms shabby.
But room comfortable and quiet, excellent central location, good breakfast, new reception staff more helpful next day and worked out almost as cheap as dorm bed in hostel.

Nice hotel - staff wonderful

We enjoyed our stay at the Grand King. It is an older hotel, but it is well taken care of and very nice. The breakfast (included) was great - not a lot of variation but what there was was fresh ad very nice. The staff were amazing. They went out of their way to help us or to answer any questions. The hotel is very centrally located so walking is definitely an option.

We highly recommend the Grand King Hotel.

It was maybe one of the hottest summer in Buenos Aires, the room's AC wasn't working. So, the location of the hotel is perfect, just a few blocks from 9 de julio, in the middle of the city. And the price was really good. Nothing else is good or remarkable

The location of the hotel is great very close to Florida street however the overall condition of the hotel is terrible.
Rooms are old, AC is terrible. No gym. Breakfast quality is below average.
Staff speaks zero English and the Spanish is difficult to understand for someone like me who speaks Portuguese.

Appreciated English speaking hotel staff person at the desk. I would have appreciated being able to use the bathtub. I couldn't get the shower tap to switch off and there was no stopper for the tub. The WiFi had no password hence had no safety measures of any kind. Breakfast good but expensive.Nice to be able to get fresh fruit, ham and cheese and whole grain bread.

Hotel room was old, really old dirty carpets, old TV, no alarm. Ac, had no temperature control, just high medium low.
Street view was nice but loud, There is performers on Lavalle and corrientes that are super loud and the hotel windows did not keep the noise outside which disturbed my sleep.

Probably a good value for money

The location is great. The beds are really uncomfortable even for a hotel in this price range; they are very old style and really need replacement - every morning I was finding myself sleeping directly on the mattress because the bed sheets fell off. Overall, though, it's probably a good value for money.

It's a $ 40 - $50 USD cab fare from Ezezia International Airport, but close to the other airport. Breakfast was not included as promised. We slept well in the room and enjoyed hearing tango music from a music store located on the street below our window.

The hotel was near city center and a great value.

Value is what I would say about this hotel. The hotel staff was very helpful with their very limited English. However, we did manage to locate Fuerza Bruta show through their assistance, which was greatly appreciated.

The room is simple with very limited and sometimes unreliable wifi. The room was kept clean and comfortable. Great shower.

Again, location, location, location. You really appreciate the proximity of the hotel to the subways, city attractions, and interesting charcters of the neighborhood.

Do not throw away your money!

First of all, we paid for a superial room and they tried to place us in a regular room. Them, 2nd room with a terrible noise in the air unit likes a airplane, 3rd room with so small closet no space for holding clothing. Second night, after impossible slept, because the noise of the aircond they moved us to a new room that I found it available with the help of the maid. Registration staff, usually is rude and sometimes they said that they can service you, but aiways they have many judments for not to service in the appropiate manner. Location is the best ammenity of this hotel. Also, breakfast is poor, limited of variety, and not fresh.
Be careful, baying tours at the street. We use to buy a tango show in a kiosko of San Telmo fair and was false, we lost our money and then, we went to the touristic police station and they were unabel to help to solve it.

Not a pleasant experience

The staff at the reception desk were not able to find my reservation number therefore they asked me to open a voucher as guarantee... Next morning the girl from reservation didn't arrive and I was obliged to leave the open voucher. A room in the 9th floor was assigned to me as it was the only floor available, coming out of the elevator the horror starts... smelly, dirty carpets and dirty - stained toilet, extra soft old beds, the room temperature can't be controlled from your room. This hotel is not a 4 star hotel and the pictures shown do not correspond to the rooms you get. Breakfast was decent. Beware!!

Just two blocks from the corner of Lavalle and Florida, the famous shopping streets in central Buenos Aires, the Grand King is a cool place to stay. Its sparse, modern design belies the friendliness of the front desk staff. The elevators are scary though ... they rattle!

In view of what some of the reviews had said, I reserved a superior room. The room I got, while a bit small, was modern, comfortable, and clean as a whistle. The wood floor was a nice touch. The glass shower curtain was unusual, but apparently functional. This hotel charges extra for wireless internet access.

I had wanted to stay here to be in the middle of all the late night action, but by the time I got back from dinner it was after midnight and the area was quiet. Ironically, the advantage of the location turned out to be its convenience for walking to Puerto Madero, and for catching a bus to the airport the next morning.
