The place looks modern,clean and nice the elevator is super tiny though, the phone was not working but the worst part is that they hide the laundry fees, sent clothes for laundry service and the amount charged was outrageous, when I commented this to the front desk staff they laughed on my face. Will never come back here or recommend this hotel to anyone.

Nice Centrally Located hotel

The Staff were very good and accommodating for anything they could handle. The room would not rate any higher than 3 stars in the US, but would rate 4 in the EU. Breakfast was good (but not included as we found out later).

Internet was HORRIBLE! They really need to upgrade so as to allow for their customers to continue to handle business while on vacation. The only time I got a good signal was in the hotel lobby. If you dont care about internet then dont be afraid to stay here.

I had a terrible experience with the hotel. I went to B.A running an Ironman and booked a room at this hotel. On arriving at 2 AM I was informed that there was a problem at the hotel and that there was no room available for me, and that they would accommodate me at another hotel. The hotel they sent me was a dump! Old, dirty and stinking! I agreed to stay in the hotel because I was very tired and needed to sleep. I do not recommend it at all! I paid for a good, beautiful and expensive hotel and went to a dump.

Centrally located, next to the pedestrian street Lavalle. Rooms are clean, everything works from Wifi to A/C. no problems. We got a great price for a few days. Not sure you can find similar hotels in other major cities around the world at this price. We were happy with our stay.

Friendly staff and good service (bathrooms cleaned and beds changed daily). Toilet was blocked on one occasion but this was seen to very quickly. Some dust on surfaces in room and wifi was slow. Option to leave luggage on day of departure was very useful (and free). Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Good hotel in B.A.

Located in the microcentro, the streets may be dirty, but the hotel is an oasis. Our 3rd time in Buenos Aires, and compared to other similar priced hotels, this hotel is one of the better ones. Keep in mind \"most\" hotels in BA have small elevators, old A/C, and old furnitures, so the Rochester is similar but our room is slightly bigger and everything is functional. The air conditioning unit maybe noisy, which is the only downside of this hotel in my mind.

Overall, a very pleasant stay in Buenos Aires for a few days.

This hotel was an ideal choice for our stay in Buenos Aires. It is located just off Lavalle and a short distance from the Avenida 9 de Julio and the stately Teatro Colón .
The room was very comfortable and relatively quiet. The bathroom was a bit small, but the bathtub included a safety bar for easy access to and from the shower.
The Rochester Classic offers a full buffet breakfast and free Wifi. This hotel is highly recommended for its amenities, friendly staff and for its reasonable rates.

Better than expected and convenience

Before I went there, I checked the street view on google, and felt that I was quite a sketchy street. Once I got there, I learned I was completely wrong. The buildings nearby just look old, that's all. This hotel is just 2 blocks away from the Obelisk and on the small narrow road which is very safe for walking because there are a lot less traffic than the main road. Restaurants are abundant, and from salad bars to high end places and mostly on the next block which is only for pedestrians, no cars. Walking to the Casa Rosada area is just about 10 minutes.

I didn't book my room with breakfast because I wasn't sure if I had enough time for it, but then I decided to have it. The cost was about the same as if I paid in advance, no surprise, kudos for that.

During my stay I had some difficulty with my tour, the lady at the front desk was really helpful, and spent enough time for me to finally got through to the right person and nailed it down to get the tour to pick me up eventually.

Very very pleased with this hotel. Will stay again

Loved this hotel. The staff was excellent, the breakfast acceptable, the room comfortable, the staff actually did speak enough English for me to manage and the hotel was ridiculously convenient. The obelisk was in walking distance, taxis were easy to come by, there was tons of shopping and food options in the neighborhood, overall I was very pleased. I will stay here again if I am in this part of the city again.

It was Ok, I was assigned to a room with very small bathroom , very small shower , I could not take a good shower , because it was not enough space to turn. The other inconvenience was the WI FI, there is a charge of $ 5.65 per day for using WI FI in the room , at the desk a piece a paper is giving with the username and password but not well explained to set up a working WIFI ,although WI FI is free in the Lobby ,but we need WI FI mostly the room ,

The hotel & staff where fine had a few problems with their limited English, buy I guess I am the outsider!
Main issue was the road outside it was closed of with only a poor foot path no taxi access! you will have to carry your bags down the road.
Friday night some sort of party outside until 4:30 am the road diggers started at 7:30.
Breakfast was fine although they tried to charge me after I had pre paid.

Comfortable but tired old style - 'classic' fits well! Reverse-cycle air-con covered by curtains so had to improvise with chair to get cool air. No electric jug for coffee/tea but mini-bar with basic drinks. Couldn't find tea/coffee in lobby. Tiny bathroom clean and adequate for 1 night. Breakfast to 11 am - excellent range and quality of food, nice ambiance! No-one told us about other meal options; great choices in street and around the corner. Easy to get to from EZE / AEP using TiendaLeon bus and shuttle but not so easy to leave using same as the reception staff's English was severely lacking and they \"didn't know\" about the service. No offer of airport shuttle - seemed only able to order a cab / remise. Bellhop Leonardo was excellent - good English, very helpful. Further from Aerparque than it looks on the map, allow at least 45 minutes to get there!

Comfortable Place

I was very satisfied with this hotel. Overall I would recomend it.
I liked the rooms, stylish and clean and had everything a touris needs. Nice little gym for an extra and stylish compact lobby. Good breakfast an lunch.
For cons i'd say that wifi is only in the lobby and in room for a fee. For people on a budget this would be uncomfortable. The curtain was blocking the air-con. Receptionists need to know english better.

We stayed in the Rochester for 3 nights on our first venture to Buenos Aires. The hotel is very nice, with clean rooms and good bathrooms. As well as this, they were very reasonably priced. The main negatives are the staff, who are generally unhappy,don't really smile or say good morning, as well as this they are not proactive within promoting the many tourist attractions of BA. The Rochester is a nice hotel if you planning a short stay and know where you are going and what you want to do.

Unfortunately, you will have to pay for the use of WiFi in this hotel. In this day and age, I really don't think that customers should have to do this. Lastly, bare in mind that you can get an all round better deal elsewhere, a hotel with free WiFi and breakfast. We checked out after our 3 night stay, not unhappy, just thinking we could get a better deal elsewhere. We chose to stay in a hotel nearby in the Recoleta area. It was the same price, with free WiFi, buffet breakfast and very helpful staff.

Worth the money

This is not a 5 star hotel, taking that out of the way let's just say it's only a few dollars more per night than the cheapest hotels you can find (hostels not included) and orders of magnitude better.

This property is in the sweet spot were you get the most out of your dough in my humble opinion. Cheaper has drawbacks(sometimes BIG) and more expensive is just for luxury or convenience. In the end if you'll spend your time outside what you want from the hotel is a nice clean bed, a comfy and hot shower and hearty food(or nearby restaurant).

The breakfast was NICE, there were chefs cooking omelettes, pancackes, etc and a very varied menu.

Very nice experience overall.

Great value hotel

Simply awesome hotel. From the breakfast buffet to the room decor and comfort of bed and shower.

There has to be some cons though and the pickiest things are thin walls - like to hear the staff chat in the hall ways or vacuum - well you can. The ac is one of the terribly old and inefficient models banned most places due to the noise. Luckily when it's on it acts as white noise blocking the hallway noise. It's also hidden in external window behind the block out curtains which means if you shut the curtains it doesn't work. Decisions decisions - privacy or ac. Last minor point - they are still charging for Internet. 49 peso or about $6 a night per 24 hours which for me was about 15% of my daily rate!. Even backpackers hostels give it away for free.

Great quality on the rest - friendly helpful staff - I would still come back at the right price.

The last few days before going home

The front desk staff is fantastic. The \"business center\" is 2 computers, only one worked and not very well. I rec'd 1 hr free but cost after that. Staff and information in English, but no English channel on TV (a little news would be nice after gone for a month). Quiet and efficient and good price for simple hotel. Not wheel-chair friendly. No free wifi would be a deal breaker for many. Breakfast was good.

Not what it seems, will not stay here again.

This hotel looks good but it's not want it seems. The room was BIG with two bathrooms. The front bathroom was not working, the toilet did not flash and the bidet flooded. The other bathroom, the door did not open all the way, thus, it was difficult to get in and out of it. Pricing was good but with a BIG catch, there are hidden charges for everything INCLUDING $36.00 pesos for WiFi, where this service is free for all guests. Breakfast was $49.00 pesos per person, most places this is also free. The staff was not as friendly as you would aspect for such a nice looking place. We will not be staying at this place again.

Located in the center of Buenos Aires microcenter close to shopping and restaurants. Walking distance to San Telmo and Recoleta. Rooms are decent with comfy bed and a small bathroom. The gym was ok, nothing special, but it worked for me. You have to pay 39 pesos for internet every day if you want it, but there is free internet in almost all restaurants and cafes around too. Would stay here again if I find it discounted.

The reception staff gave us trouble, and did not want to accept our purchase from this firm. Only after this firm's Service got involved, they accepted our deal. The overcharged from restaurant purchases, and inroom consumption. So, hold on to your cash and be very, very careful. We have little confidence in this hotel.

This was a great hotel for the money...Fabulous Breakfast buffet inc made to order eggs. Rooms small but very clean with great storage space. Nicely appointed with refridgerater and flat screen tv.. English spoken at the front desk. Very friendly and helpful staff. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Service and cleanliness better than many high end hotels. One block away from pedestrian shopping street and man small restaurants and cafes. Dont hesitate to book this one.

I traveled by myself to Buenos Aires on my way to Salta, where I'll be studying for a year. It's in a convenient location because it's in the middle of everything. It's also right across the street from Subte Line C. Air conditioning in my room was great, although the room overall was a little small (I went with the Standard room because I was traveling alone). My room was EXTREMELY quiet and tucked away -- no view at all, just looking across to other rooms. But it was silent at all hours.
The one major downside is that I didn't feel like the area around the hotel was very safe, so I was reluctant to leave alone at night. I was also disappointed to have to pay for wifi (35 pesos/day) which added up about $45 USD at the end of my stay. The electricity also went out three times over a 6 night stay at the hotel. Not sure why this kept happening. It went out around 10 PM every time and was off for 10-15 minutes each time.

In the heart of downtown

The hotel is located in a side street and certainly feels out of place with it's surroundings. Most local amenities are very close by so it's ideal for travellers who enjoy the non-stop city life. Whilst the hotel is very clean and the rooms are a good standard I can't help but feel that the service was a let down, from the reception staff not being aware of Polo Elite to the breakfast and lunch staff ignoring your order until you have to request it for the 3rd time.

The room service is very good and clean as well the hallways. The front desk staff needs to be more freindly and be more specific to coustomers that the breakfast now is optional and is not for every body anymore, which I think is a minus because personally ,I like to have my breakfast in the hotel that I stay ( just charge to the room and give every body the same benefit).Second; The safe box is not offered unless the coustomer ask for it, which I think should be offered to every body .

Review of RH Rochester Classic

I was very happy with the RH Rochester. The room was clean, fairly spacious and very comfortable. It was not noisy. The quality of the service was excellent. The desk staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The hotel is very well-located and the rate was very reasonable. The breakfast was very good. My only gripe is that wifi is not available unless you pay $5 for 24 hours.

The pros are the room, the continental breakfast, location, and the look of the hotel. The location was close to many tourist places but the street the hotel is on is busy and there is often traffic. The staff was good for the most part. The cons are having to pay for Wifi and the continental breakfast. I should have known that they were not included in the cost of the hotel but it was still disappointing to have to pay extra for them.

Great Hotel -would stay there again

We stayed here a week.The location was close to everything of interest.The staff were very helpful and some spoke english.
The hot breakfast (inl in price)had lots of choices,there was even a chef to make omelettes while you watched.
We had a superior room but the queen size bed seemed like a double to us.Also they need to give 2 pillows per person.Housemaid was ok but twice forgot to give us soap.
The2 lifts are very small for such a large hotel.
The lobby internet cost 5 pesos for 20 minutes.
We would stay here again.

I would recomend

My mom and I stayed there for 4 days, my mom had a knee surgery 5 months ago and she still walking very slow with the help of a walker. This hotel is no prepare at all to have handicap guests, steps down everywhere , and the bath tub so high that even myself had trouble to get in and when I asked about a different room with a shower instead, they did not make any effort to accommodate our needs. Overall was ok for the price.

Right quality for the price

I opted for suite which I thought would be better in quality - it ended up a double cubicle-like window-less (well the windows are facing another room and there is nothing else) room. The ventilation is bad and always appear stuffy. Every thing appears quite old though the hotel did appear to have tried their very best to refurnish as much as possible - not quite successfully.

The location is excellent. Right in the center of BA.

Upon reflecting the price, well, if you can afford more for better, don't try this one unless you are very well prepared psychologically.

The interior of the hotel is nice, but I had a bathroom roof leak, which caused flooding, so I had to change rooms. The surrounding neighborhood is very convenient, but chaotic. The street which the hotel is located has a very slim sidewalk. It is on a major thoroughfare with lots of noisy buses & exhaust. But the hotel is very centrally located & close to lots of shopping and pedestrian streets. One obvous suggestion for traveling to Chile & Argentina--if you don't have at least some conversational Spanish, you may be in for a rough visit. Also, be very careful on the metroes--I was pick pocketed on the Santiago Metro.

I been there 2,5 years ago and now, unlucky again. The pictures are just presenting a new part of the hotel. Pillows thin, very thin, no extra pillow (they promise me for 3 days). Also, no Wifi internet in the room neither in the lobby. No recommended for business. No also for any other reason.

This was a wonderful place to stay after an overnight air flight. All was well.
I love their care of my luggage even after I checked out . It stayed at the hotel another 7 hours. Safely.
When I returned from that 7 hours away, I really appreciated the nice , clean bathroom off the lobby to ¨freshen up ¨in before taking the luggage to the next round of the trip. When you no longer have access to a room, that bathroom off the lobby is a great blessing!
They readily gave out tourist info when asked too.

The room I had even had a little outdoor patio.

Ample space....they had a tub with the shower..
The only downside is that I could not find heat controls in the room and I was just a bit cool at night...I was tired, though, and not in the mood to try to tell the staff about it...next time I will....maybe the controls were somewhere on the air conditioner...
You can´t check in until 2 and, unlike the USA, there did not seem to be any ¨wiggle room¨ to get in a bit early....
The restaurant and the lobby are good waiting spots so I was fine. I was just anxious to crash in my room and missed the USA´ s hotels that often let us check in early.
I am going again there and just might make it my annual Buenos Aires hotel so I can get to know them and them me....always benefits to that...
Until I got there I did not know that there was a lot of restaurants and shops within walking distance...it is in the city center and not far from the popular Calle Florida....

I would like to go back!

I was impressed with the location of the hotel. It is in the middle of commercial and stores zone. Walking distance to the several points of interest. Unfortunatelly, I stayed only one night but was enough to see the convenience location. The breakfast was pretty good and the room was huge and comfortable.

RH Rochester Hotel in central Buenos Aires

Great location and great room with breakfast for the price. Two blocks from Calle Florida. I stayed at this hotel 6 years ago. Since then, it has been renovated and the decor is very nice, modern, minimalist and very comfortable with A/C. The staff was helpful but they were busy in the mornings especially, so expect to wait a few minutes for their assistance with directions, sight seeing, etc. the breakfast was very good and more than just a continental breakfast. On the weekends, they have someone making omelets. The only thing was that the elevators are tiny and the hotel hallway is on a motion light sensor so it appears dark when you open the elevator door or walk out from your room. I think it's a conservation thing. Overall, I recommend highly.

Great for the price

The front desk personnel were very friendly and accommodating. My staying was only for a few hours between flights and they provided me with a room before the checking-in time and facilitated for me to have the breakfast ahead of time.

The rooms are small but well kept. A great value for the price. The neighborhood was not the greatest but conviniently located for the downtown area.

Great hotel in great location

Location was perfecto. Only blocks from the famous Obelesk, and 4 blocks from Calle Florida for some great shopping. Room was small but exactly what I would expect for an urban location. Great buffet. I found it very convenient that a taxi driver was usually available in the lobby for a fair rate(no waiting!). I will stay again if I get to come back to B.A.

Good convienent hotel.

The location of the RH Rochester, Classic is right near a pedistrian mall area that leads directly to the main shopping street, Florida Street. Breakfast was adequate and our package included lunch, which also was adequate. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Room was fairly comfortable. Bathroom did not have adequate shelf space for toiletrees. Very good exercise room. Disappointed that internet had a 25 peso fee per day.

A good central location although it's not in the nicest area/street. The room was clean and comfortable although it did smell of smoke despite our reserving a non smoking room. The hotel facilities were ok but they were the only hotel we stayed in (from budget to luxury), in South America that charged for its wifi and internet service (and at considerably over the local normal rates). Most of the staff were friendly and helpful but this was not universally the case. Overall we had a reasonable experience but probably would not stay here again.

This hotel is agreat find !. From the time you check in and throughout our stay, the front desk (bilingual) and all personnel were most helpfull. They held our luggage after check out time. Our room and bathroom were adequate, clean and no bed bugs !.The complimentary breakfast is great, the best ever ! Location very convenient, and a safe neighborhood. Go for it !!!

Our visit to Buenos Aires

We went to Buenos Aires last month because we had a wedding. My cousin had recommended us Rochester Classic as all the guests were going to stay there. We didnt know what to do beacuse there are a lot of bad comments on the internet about the hotel. At last we decided to book there because Rochester Classic is near the church where we had the wedding.

Bedrooms are really comfortable and the staff was so kind with us that we were surprised. Breakfast is delicious and the hall is luxurious.
We recommend this hotel, it is beautiful and well located.

A beautiful place to stay

When I went to Buenos Aires I stayed at Rochester classic because one of my friends had recommended it before.
It is a beautiful familiar hotel where we spent a relaxing holiday. All the services that had been promised were included so we could use the internet and enjoy delicious breakfast.
The city is full of theatres and museam were we spent most of our visit. My children are keen on science so they love the \"Planetario\".
We are planning a new trip to Argentina. Of course, we are going to stay at Rochester Classic

A good place to be in Buenos Aires during the World Cup Soccer

We had an unexpected layover in Buenos Aires and I looked up hotels that had airport shuttles or transfers as it is easier to get to a hotel that will collect you from the airport and return you if you have a very short stay. The booking included the cost of the transfer from the airport and we had to pay the trip back, which was fine.
The hotel had a very good lobby - rooms were a little worn but comfortable for the short time that we were going to be there. The safe did not work or looked to complicated to work but it was not necessary for our short stay. The location was good and with the pedestrian streets in Buenos Aires, we walked out for dinner, slept and were off the next morning. All with little fuss after a good breakfast and a tiny bit of shopping.
