We have been regular customers at this hotel for about twenty years. Unfortunately on our recent stay we found the gentleman on evening duty far from helpful. Post pandemic …common areas clean and freshly painted…rooms a bit on the tired side…breakfast adequate if you want a sugar bomb start to the day. We would no longer recommend this area as either safe, nor interesting for a stay in Buenos . It’s depressing to say the least.

We cannot fault the location which is very central. However, I would expect that all the team at Reception would speak English - at least to a level which we can understand one another. For the price paid the hotel amenities are OK - however we didn't manage to get a good night sleep esp. over the weekend. No soundproofing of the doors nor the windows

Stayed there in three occasions. Good value, excellent location. This is not a luxury hotel but rooms were clean and ready. Breakfast had hot scrambled eggs, cold cuts and some nice pastry, not expensive. Staff was curteous and helpful. One room had noisy ac and they moved us promptly for the next night. Would go there again.

Very much a micro room. I think the other RH property 2 blocks down would have been more spacious. Not many restaurants nearby unless you like pizza, and the hotel breakfast didn’t have much flavors. Same thing daily. Shower door would not close completely...water gets onto floor.

Clean but small rooms

Bedroom and bathroom are very clean. Beds are comfortable. The triple room is feels very small for three of us. There is no in-room climate control, so the central air conditioning is controlled by the hotel for the entire floor. We asked to turn down the AC at night, the hotel offered more blankets instead. Central location. 1 night is okay, longer stay not recommended.

Excellent staff - place needs basic maintenance

The hotel seems new (not sure if refurbished) but seems inneficient maintance will make it look more run down soon. I was not on a leisure trip, so for what I needed it (stay close downtown to run errands) was perfect value for what I spent for only 2 week days. Staff was VERY cordial. At noon I came back to my room and it was still undone, nevertheless back at night it was all clean and tidy. Strangely got a knock on the door around 9pm asking if I needed extra cleaning. The bathroom is really small, very dim lighting, shower-cabin type, you need to be skinny to not bump onto stuff. The shower door wouldn't shut/seal so the water ran widely out to the rest of the shower. There was hardly any hot water. Not many power outlets. Cable TV. The TV desk/closet is just such a cumbersome furniture taking a lot of space and squeeking everytime you touch it, again, the room is really small and tight. The A/C is building central (no independent control in the room) and it was really warm (sept). I had to leave the balcony door opened to let it cool down. Of course in the downtown area, streets are really loud, so either bare the heat or use earplugs to sleep. There are no great views, just an abandoned construction across the street. The fact there is a nice balcony with artificial grass floor I believe is an advantage for smokers. The hotel entrance sliding door motion sensor wasn't working and at times you had to stand there waiting until somebod noticed you, the bell is broken too.

Centrally located but very simple hotel in a noisy area

The location is not in a good area since there is lots of contruction works outside the hotel and pretty noisy area with bus/car traffic. The aircondition is central at this hotel and is often turned off. That's why it is extremely warm in the rooms since the rooms are very small. No matter which room you get, it will be noisy in the area. The only positive thing is that it is very clean and the towels are changed daily. Comfortable bed. If the lunch is included in the rate, then you will have to go to another Rochester hotel a block away to get the lunch. I will not return to this hotel since I did not enjoy my stay there.

The rooms were clean but the room itself was really small and so was the bathroom. They also charge you 50% of your room rate for a late checkout, which I thought was ridiculous. The neighborhood is safe enough but they don't recommend walking alone in the wee hours. All in all it served its purpose - clean room to sleep so I could wander the city during the day.

Nice Hotel Location

The hotel is located close to everything in the downtown of Buenos Aires where you can find restaurants, bars, cultural points, etc. basically at a walking distance. The three rooms I rented, two and three beds, lack of space because of being very small wich leaves just enough room to walk inside, not to talk if you came from far with lots of bags.

However the hotel staff were amazing, all of them willing to help all the time.

My hotel booking was very clear about the room that I was going to enjoy, I got a small room with a single bed and I did not get money back.The Hotel did not respect the travel agency agreement. The staff was not very helpful but Elizabeth.

Not bad once you get past the check-in.

We stayed in this hotel twice during our stay in BA. The first time we had a nice room with all the mod cons, but it was a little on the small side. As it was only for a day and a half, we didn't mind too much. For the second stay we requested a room with a bath and what we got was a fantastic room with much more space and better furnishings. The issues we had with the hotel was with some of the desk staff. They could be quite brusque, not rude but a bit dismissive. On the other hand there were some people on the desk who did everything they could to make your stay pleasant.

Price and location are great. However 2 major disadvantages: 1. No free wifi. This is not accepted for a 3 star hotel. 2. The air-conditioning system is awful. It can't be turned on or off , nor change the temperature and strength. It's noisy and ruined all our nights at the hotel.

Nice hotel with great staff.

Really liked this hotel for a number of reasons. The location was perfect and the rooms were very nice. The best part of the stay was the friendliness of the staff, They were all very helpful but Gaston and Rodrigo went beyond and made the stay really pleasant. We are going back to the hotel for a second stay. That should say it all.

Avoid - better for less available in Buenos Aires

Very noisy location and despite moving rooms to get away from road traffic, the noisy could still be heard. No soundproofing at all. The air conditioning was centrally managed so unable to turn on and off as desired & was also incredibly loud. So much so that the vibrations from the vent in our first room could be felt through my body. The area is great in terms of proximity to the Subte station Lavelle, but at night the area is dirty, people rummaging through rubbish left on road side & smelt awful. It did not feel safe at night & the area by the hotel entrance is not well lit.
You have to pay for wi-fi which I find unacceptable - surely a basic these days? I was away for 4 weeks & stayed in 10+ hotels, this wasthe only hotel charging or wi-fi. Hotel itself is ok on first glance but look closely & you can see its tired & dated.

I would not recommend this area & there are far better hotels for less money in Buenos Aires.

Good value but disappointed with the wifi policy

For the good price this hotel offers pretty great value. Very clean, great location. The rooms are small but acceptable.
However, it is disappointing to learn that even after paying for the extra cost of wifi, we can only use on one of our phones. You would need to pay additional for other cellphones/pc/tablets.

Very happy!

Pros: Great location right in the middle of central BA. Newly renovated rooms with nice bathrooms. Very helpful staff with an extremely easy check-in/out experience. Great breakfast. Well priced.

Cons: Rooms are small but very comfy and well furnished. Can be noisy during the day due to central location - but not really a problem if you're out sight-seeing :-) and difficult to avoid when you're in the middle of the city.

It had no air conditioning. Television left much to be desired. The room had street noises and the bathroom had no ventilation, so that all the humidity stayed inside and I had to open the window that was over the street on the first floor. The breakfast had an extra charge of $30, and I was chase to pay for it, twice, once at the entrance of the dining room, which made me feel quite uncomfortable. And another by returning the card room. The wifi service was not free, and to get the password had an extra charge of $ 25.
Perhaps the discounted rooms have these unpleasant details.

The room was nice looking and clean. I would suggest asking for a room on the quiet side of the building. That was the only downside to me. If you can fall asleep with all the noise from the street then its not so bad. Our friends had a room on a different side and they had no noise. If they could do something about the noise, this hotel would be great. I had emailed them beforehand asking for a crib and it was waiting for us in the room.... great customer service over email and also during our entire stay. The staff is very nice. The breakfast is also very good. I would probably stay there again. Location is great... very close to shopping.

Very good hotel in the center of Buenos Aires

I was very satisfied with my stay in the Rochester Concept Hotel. Congratulations to Hotels.com, that you found it. Location is perfect, in the very center of Buenos Aires, nearby pedestrian zone. I had a quiet, clean room, very well equipped with everything, except the tea/coffee facilities. There is no possibility to get free coffee or tea in the lobby, as you can get in some hotels of the same cathegory. This is the only weak point. The breakfast is good and even lunch was included in the price, which wasn't too high. The staff is very kind and they found, on arrival, a room for me at 12.00, so I didn't need to wait till 2 pm. I will certainly return to this hotel with the help of Hotels.com.

Great service in hotel near Florida shopping st.

All the people at the desk were super, very helpful with everything, good recommendations. Hotel is conveniently located near great cafe, restaurants, and Florida, the major shopping pedestrian street.
Only negative was that the heat / air conditioning is controlled for an entire floor, not for individual rooms.
For the price, this is a very acceptable hotel.

Pro's: acceptable price, great location, good service & friendly personnel, breakfast is better than average Argentinan breakfast, good Internet connection in the rooms.
Con's: if you take the cheapest room, there is no desk / working space in the room. Internet is not included (cost: 25 Arg$ for 24 hours, you can get the username/password at the reception). The walls seem very thin - you can literally understand conversations in the next room. Air conditioning can not be controlled inside the room. However, you can call reception and they can switch your room's airco off (or on).

RH ROCHESTER CONCEPT BUENOS AIRES - BETTER TO AVID

Hotel extremely overrated. It calls itself a 4 stars when it is not even a 3 stars in my opinion

FACILITIES: No restaurant or bar. No money exchange at the reception. Internet for a high fee considering being in Buenos Aires

ROOMS: Noisy, very small and with very old furniture and television not working in most of the channels shown. BATHROOM, tiny and with not constant water pressure, meaning you showe very hot or very cold according to how many guests are taking a shower or flushing the toilette at the same time.

dEFINETELY SRPRISE THAT hOTELS.COM STILL HAS IT IN ITS INVENTORY.

Warning: Airport Transfer means only one way

The hotel itself was fantastic, but when the driver dropped me off at the airport I was surprised to find that I needed to pay for that trip. He checked with the hotel and they said that my Airport Transfer hotel package only included a one way transfer! I had no Argentinian cash... so had to use US$ and get change... in a currency I didn't need!

really a great value

I went expecting the worst. Priced well below other hotels int he area, I was extremely surprised at the convenience and helpfulness of the staff there. So close we walked to a different restaurant each night and shopped in nearby San Telmo, Bus tour was just a few blocks from the hotel. I travel frequently and this was simply on eof the best values I have found in Buenos Aires for a tourist. The breakfast was pleasant and fresh and the staff was really extremely helpful for all of our toursit needs. I have read some bad reviews here about this hotel, but let's be honest. A clean but small room with excellent hot water and comfortable bed, may not be on the best street in town, but I tell you I will go back again, I REALLY had a great time and I cannot praise the staff enough for helping us on a short holiday

Okay for the price

This location is great for dining, shopping, and within walking distance to several tourist destinations. The hotel does not have a restaurant or bar however the breakfast buffet was very good. The room we were given had a terrible problem with the air conditioning which has no individual controls. The cold air was blowing so hard the curtains were flapping which made the room unlivable. We had to complain twice before anything was done. Our room faced the street which is busy night and day so sleeping at night became a problem. If we were to stay at the Rochester Concept again I would check out the room for air conditioning problems as well as make sure the room did not face the busy street of Maipu. We would recommend this hotel with qualification.

More than we expected

We were delighted with the luxury of the hotel. It is always clean and in perfect conditions. Breackfast is delicious and it includes a lot of tasted meals.
We recommend this place, it is beautiful, very relaxing and it is also near stores where you can buy presents.

Luxurious hotel

We stayed at Rochester Concept in our last visit to Buenos Aires. We had booked there because a friend had recommended it before. Bedrooms are really comfortable and breackfast is so delicious that we were expecting for it all day.

We recommed the hotel for young couple that want to visit the city and have a good time.

The location is perfect because it is near the subway and the Obeliso. You can buy in the stores an have a walk in Florida Street.

The most comfortable place

We really enjoyed our stay at Rochester Concept. The hotel was always clean and well lighted. Besides breakfast was delicious and abundant. Our room was so comfortable that we could relax and take a break of our routine.
It has a perfect location as it is near \"Galerias Pacifico\", Florida Street and subways station.
We want to visit Buenos Aires staying at Rochester Concept again. We had a wonderful time.

The best choice

I had heard that Rochester Concept was a beautiful hotel but i never thought that it was so luxoriuos.

We went to Buenos Aires three months ago because of a wedding and we decided to book in this hotel. It was an exelent experience, they have the best service and a helpfull staff. We didn't have any problem for the check in, it was extremely easy.

This hotel has everything you need to spend the perfect holiday: comfortable and lightfull bedrooms, tasted breackfast and security. It also has the best location, near the stores and the theatres. You can walk or take a bus to come round the city

We definitely recommend Rochester Concept

Don't be fooled... this \"4 star\" hotel must have stolen at least 2 of them from some other facility. The rooms are tiny and not thought out as hotel (I had to unplug the TV to be able to find a place to charge my laptop).

And the neighborhood, at night, is quite trashy.

Good location (next to main touristic points - florida, obelisc, pink house, puerto madero), but if you are expecting a beautyfull and quiet neibourhood you may stay a little bit far away from the downtown center.
The rooms faced to the street were noisy, try to get a room in the other side.
The breakfast is great.
I had a good experience and reccomend the hotel.

Hotel Rochester Concept Missing Basics

The pros of this hotel are the pleasant staff, the decent breakfast and its prime location to major sites and streets. The cons would have to be the amenities. Even though the decor is hip, cool and conceptal, the hotel fails to keep the basic needs of a traveler in mind. There is no air conditioning/heat (I went during the winter and it was VERY cold inside the room! There were no extra blankets so if you travel around this time, bring thermals and fleece pajamas), the windows are NOT sound proof (If you stay here, request a room facing AWAY from Maipu Street. Even with ear plugs, it's difficult to get any sleep because you hear construction workers, buses and motorcyclists 24/7), there are no double beds (Their idea of a double bed is two twins put together, which by the way is VERY uncomfortable to sleep on), the room smells a little moldy and the showers are small beyond belief.

Repeat Guest Very Disappointed -- Thumbs Down!

DISAPPOINTING. I had stayed here before, and at the companion Rochester Classic on Esmeralda. So, I was looking forward after traveling around Argentina to one last great night in Buenos Aires.
Room was essentially on the street; staff claimed hotel full, but did not feel that way (refused to change me to room off the street).
Will not stay here again. It was that bad a night. Without any way to predict where room will be, avoid this hotel unless you do not want to sleep.
Room also awkward and bed was in bad shape.

Small and Noisey rooms

Our June 2010 stay was very unsatisfactory. The hotel is OK if you can overlook the very small room and NO control of the heat. Late night construction on the neighboring building till 23.00 made opening the window to cool things off not so nice.
Overall the service was good, breakfast was fine, location OK, TV was so so with NO english station but plenty of english sitcoms with Spanish sub titles.
For the money you could do better,maybe the Rochester Classic. I will NOT be back.

Not a good experience..

We saw the pictures of the hotel and together with the location, we believed it would be a good idea. When we arrived to the Hotel, the room was small, smelling sewage, kind a dirty and the view was to a wall of another building from less than a meter of distance. When we asked to be moved to another room, smell changed to sweat, making any further stay impossible. Luckily we booked with Travel online and got our money back. if you are looking for a hotels in this area, be ready to pay around * to * dollars and ave very nice accommodation.

Not Impressed but great location!

The location of the hotel was GREAT! right in the middle of the downtown and walking distance to shopping and main attraction, not even a block away from subway station.
The room was not at all what I expected. On the website the pictures looked way better than the actual place. The room is very small. The wall paper in the room was peeling off and our bathroom ceiling had mold and no ventilation. There was no climate control in the room. My dad's room shower glass did not seal properly and every time he showered the bathroom floor got wet.
Everytime we asked for a different room, the front desk staff would ask us to come back later and never arranged for us to move. I could not beleive they actually would have someone in the room and not repair it.
If you just need a place to stay, this hotel is ok.

Forgettable soujourn

This hotel has a renovated lobby. That is apparently what you are paying for here, because everything else is second rate at best.

As referenced in some previous reviews, a mysterious mildew odor haunts the bathrooms and some other strange funk was pervasive in the tiny room itself.

Regarding the diminutive dwelling, I strongly recommend you steer clear of this accomodation if claustrophobia has been indicated.

I don't even want to mention the incredibly spotty wireless internet, or the construction across the street that begins no later than 7AM.

A Real Argentine Experience

The hotel was neat and clean. Though the desk people spoke very little English, they were pleasant. The breakfast was tasty abd substantial. The hotel was close to all attractions. Great for the urban trekker. The room was very small, but it served its purpose. The area was noisy, but that was unavoidable. I felt I expereinced the real Argentina.

PROS:
Very good remodeling job (unlike some other hotels in B.A.)
Very good breakfast
Reliable Wi-Fi in lobby/dining area (USD * per day to have Internet in your room)
Courteous and helpful staff
Quiet (there is construction across the street from the lobby but our room in the back was very quiet)

CONS:
Rooms are really small.
No dresser. The only place to put clothing was in some very limited space on a quasi entertainment center/desk/closet.
Sketchy picture quality on TV (the coaxial cable most likely needs to be replaced due to salt air intrusion and decay).
Highly variable water temperature in shower, which indicates they are using a \"calefon\" for a hot water heater and have multiple rooms connected to it, or else have serious problems with water pressure. Either way, a hotel of this size should be using a boiler for their hot water and not a \"calefon\".
Not sure if this hotel has central air conditioning or not. Our room was pretty warm in the late afternoon, so we opened the window to generate a breeze. If you are planning to stay during the summer months, make sure the A/C is working because Buenos Aires is pretty hot and muggy Dec. thru March and you'll die of heat prostration without it.

October Vacation to Buenos Aires

If you want large, comfortable rooms, don't stay here. Small rooms, small shower. Good breakfast. Hallway noises also travelled easliy through the paper thin walls. Due to cooking smells and loud outside noise we closed our window, one evening it got a little warm. We asked the hotel to please turn on the air. There is one controller per floor handled by the front desk. The air came on for about 10 minutes then was turned off and never came on again. We were not happy.

Rochester Classic Hotel

Clean. Good breakfasts, that were included. Free wifi in the lobby, though is very slow and pages need to be reloaded constantly. The desk help spoke both Spanish and English and had some helpful tourist suggestions. The location was excellent - in close proximity to a lot. The downside was that our room was very small, the toilets didn;t flush well, the tv was old and had poor reception. The hotel had obviously put more effort into it;s lobby than individual rooms. Overall a good experience but don't expect luxury.

My wife and I went to BAs on a business trip, and we were totaly happy with the overall hotel experience. It's located near two pedestrian streets that get very busy with tourist at night and surrounded by great restaurants. It's also very modeen looking, and you don't have to worry about breakfast beacause it's included.

Good stay on Buenos Aires - except Fri and Sat night

The only problem for the hotel is there is a hostel nearby and the hostel will have overnight party every Fri and Sat night. So you can't sleep if you stay there Fri and Sat. But every other things are really good.

Smallest room I've ever seen.

The people at the concept were really nice and helpful but the rooms were so small thaoutou couldn't move. They also had construction across the street so aside from the noise you'd also have workers looking at you all the times. If you spend a night of 2 then maybe this may work but if you're in Bsaires for a week or more then I would not recommend it. Aside from the hotel, the people at the reception were really nice. As soon as my wife and I checked in and realized that the place was not for us we broth it to the hot attention and with big surprise we were transfered to their sister and upscale hotel Rochester Classic. The hotel was just 2 blocks from the Concept and the room we ended ip getting was persons especially when compared to the Concept. There was a small difference in price but if was soooooo worth it. If I were to review the 2nd hotel then I would give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

Good hotel experience

I was quite impressed with the great service of the hotel staff. They did their utmost to accommodate all my needs: change large bills, arrange airport service, open up my safe, etc. The breakfast buffet was adequate with hot and cold food. My only issue was a standing shower with curtains which kept kept flooding the bathroom floor. If I return to Buenos Aires and book a hotel room at the Rochester, I would ask for a bathroom with shower doors.

Great value, nice staff

This is an excellent value for the money... the rooms were small but clean, nicely decorated, and bright; there is a lovely European-style breakfast every morning; and the staff is extremely helpful and poilite. Although there is a street noise problem for some of the rooms, the hotel staff tried diligently (and successfully!) to find me a perfect replacement. This is a small building in a very central location-- a superb location-- so sounds of the city are unavoidable, and for people who need absolute silence, this may not be the best choice. But for urbanites, it's fine. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Cheap,close to attractions

The room was only 10x10 but clean and modern. Small fridge and safe. TV was 9\" but got many stations. No drawers to put clothes away but areas for carry on bags. 18\" of hanging space.The street was somewhat dark at night but 1/2 block to walking street Lavalle St.and 1 block from Florida St. Came with 1/2 pension which meant breakfast of bread,fruit,ham,cheese and scrambled eggs. Lunch was 1 block over at its sister hotel and allowed 2 chooses.Lunch cost 10 pesos for drink and service fee but we were served verses breakfast buffet.

Great location and service

I was in Buenos Aires on vacation. I really enjoyed staying here because it was in such a great location. The front desk was really helpful and friendly, and although the room was a bit small, it was cute and clean. You can hear some of the pipes, and a little bit of the neighbors, but noise wasn't really an issue for me. I thought the room was a great deal for the price, and it was definitely comfortable.

Better accomodation available

Very small room on 1st floor. TV picked up very few channels and all with interference. Booked bed and breakfast with a free spa/lunch. As I was leaving at 5am I was unable to take advantage of the breakfast, was told the lunch could not be taken on the day of arrival and they needed 1/2 day notice to book the spa treatment. No offer was made of even a free coke or coffee so I find their customer service focus distinctly lacking.

spent very little time in hotel. While there showered and slept. Did traveling and used hotel as base. However half the time they were \"out of towels\" Room was tiny, TV very bad reception, internet service cost 12USDollars/day for modem. Visitors given a bad time. Previous trips have not encountered these descrepencies! Staff cold and not friendly except for one lady receptionist who was very pleasant te others made me feel intruding. The local was ok. The last week I was staying in Buenos Aires and ended up changing hotels even though it cost me. I would not recommend this hotel.

Great location

The best thing of this hotel is its location; it is very central and most attractions are walking distance. The room itself was very small but that's the trend in any big city, besides hotels are just to sleep and have a shower... Since the room was very clean and the bed comfy, there were no dramas on this front. The breakfast, which was included in the rates, was great too. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel.

Could have been much better

I got an upgraded room in this downtown hotel, yet the room was very small and the bathroom was tiny. There was a lot of noise from the street below (only cabs and buses during day hours due to local law) and from construction across the street. I was on the tenth floor off the street and it was still very noisy starting at 6 a.m. The room had a balcony which was nice but the lock/latch on the sliding glass door did not work. The glass shower looks nice but the door in my room did not keep water off of the floor, (a towel full of water each time) and it is so close to the toilet that you must sit sideways, if you know what I mean. The air conditioner ran most of the time even though it was not hot in the room. I ran into one woman who was leaving because the air conditioner in her room didn't run ever. There were no controls for temperature regulation in either room. The maids knocked on the door at the same time every day sign or no sign, I finally told her to come back later after the third time, the next day she never came at all. I was up late every night and slept until after noon. Good breakfast, however not enough seating during the rush hour. Internet service Wifi on the ground/lobby floor only. No iron in the room, and laundry service was not cheap.
