Don’t like writing reviews but this is A real find and deserves some publicity.
Super well run and renovated hotel from the 70s with a great vibe, specifically if you are into those kind of places/architecture. All rooms have direct sea view, a roof top terrace caters for endless sunshine. It is far from anywhere so you need a car ideally or rely on few bus routes. Staff are very nice and helpful. Breakfast is great with plenty of healthy options and a 3 course dinner is served to the table. You choose between meat, fish or vegetarian each morning.
I’d also mention the 20 meter heated outdoor pool which allows you to swim laps and the direct access to the public sea pool to experiment with the big waves coming across its walls. No beach here so this is the only option to swim “in the sea”. You can also go for a flat walk for miles along the coast to enjoy wildlife and the really salty air produced by the massive waves.
Didn’t test the wellness area but the decent gym with sea views and relatively modern technogym cardio and weights equipment (dumbbells up to 14kg only though).

Extremely disappointing. Towels, bottled water, teabags, toiletries had to be requested daily from reception!
Breakfast buffet was satisfactory, dinners very mundane. An additional charge for coffee at dinner!
€108 charge for massage by someone who was not a masseuse and arrived ten minutes late for appointment.
Addressed issues with manager who suggested a free wrap in a waterbed on my next visit to Oceano.
I will not be returning!.

We had an amazing 3 night stay here! Every aspect of this hotel is commendable, from the spacious suites to the excellent buffet breakfast. We loved the quiet elegant ambience & the beautifully decorated sitting room with the piano. We ate all our dinners in the restaurant which was such a bonus after long days of sightseeing. The food & servers were exemplary.

We have just returned from a week’s stay at the Océano. It was relaxing and the pool area always had sun beds available, nobody leaving towels on them first thing in the morning. One of the main problems though was there was no air conditioning and it was very hot and uncomfortable so we did not sleep well. We asked for a fan but it had very little impact. The pillows were also terrible. The room itself was nice enough with a nice spacious balcony overlooking the pool. If you are wanting to be drinking in the evening in a nice bar area you will disappointed. There isn’t anything going on and we ended up just buying bottles of wine and drinking on our balcony. There was limited choice of restaurants locally, but there were a few to choose from but the food choice was not great. As long as you like fish you’ll have plenty of choice. I do like fish but not every day!!. There is very limited understanding of English locally and in the Hotel so communication was often challenging. Google translate came in handy a few times when out and about. We used the bus a lot, going to Santa Cruz and puerto de la Cruz as they had a lot more shops, bars and restaraunts. Overall we had a nice time and if you are looking for pure rest and not much else it’s perfect. It is a health spa after all but we did not book any treatments as very expensive.

Beautiful oceans views from individual balconies. Good breakfast buffet with a changing dinner menu. A little far off the beaten path but very pleasant. A wonderful promenade to walk with restaurants.

Nice hotel but limited spa facilities

This is a lovely hotel if you want to do absolutely nothing. It is very peaceful with lovely grounds. However as a spa it is disappointing. In 5 days we could not get a slot for one facial; we got lucky on our first day when my daughter got a body peel. Eventually I was told that most guests book their treatments before arrival, so you have been warned! I tried to book a sea paddle boarding session but neither I nor the hotel could get a response from the provider by phone; I even walked up to the village to find the office. The free yoga sessions are more like stretch exercises - not a single sun salutation even. This hotel feels geared towards quite sedentary folk booking one of their designed packages of treatment, but it's just not flexible enough to claim to be a full time spa.

Really relaxing

If you want a place to relax away from all the tourists and in beautiful surroundings, this is the place. The north of the island is another world away from the south. The hotel is clean and simple, it has a great spa and friendly staff (with limited English). The surrounding area too is small, quiet, with just a few bars and restaurants, but if chilling out is what you have in mind or trying out surfing or paddle boarding, it's perfect. The hotel do offer day trips to other towns or hiking tours which I recommend. I really loved my time here and would definitely return

Soothing hotel with gorgeous views

Really enjoyed our stay at Océano. Spacious and clean rooms with an amazing view. Breakfast was also full of fresh fruit, pastries and scrambled eggs made to order. I also loved their sauna/spa and just relaxing near the pool in their fluffy robes. No regrets or complaints.

Wonderful garden , poor service

The main feature of the hotel is the garden and the pool- very beautiful and there is enough space and privacy for everyone. The pool was very clean and everything outside was well maintained. The room was also very clean. Towels were changed daily and the cleaning were daily as well. And that was all goos things.
The staff was trying hard to be polite but most of them didn't speak any english, only two girls from the reception have been able to communicate with us properly. The breakfast was very poor and boring, no change for 7 days, the same products every single day, quality of the meat ( ham, chorizo, salami etc) as well as croissants very questionable. No restaurant/ breakfast manager around, tables stayed uncleaned fir a while after guests finished and if you come a bit late you have to set your table with cutlery, cups etc. Also, no labels on the buffet food and people kept sniffing the bows or the juice jars in order to identify what exactly it is in. My partner had birthday and we received a bottle of wine which was really nice. But at the same time we didn't get a bottle opener and needed to call for this again.The menu of the restaurant was absolutely ridiculous, set menu with very scarce choice, which is shame as there was no good restaurant around and we would have had a dinner in the hotel every evening if we liked the food. The hotel overall is very outdated, 90's style, rooms-tired. Overall, no attention to details, poor service, bad value for money.

Beware of the fiestas

The Hotel is fine but the rooms do not have a/c but that doesn't matter if you can open the windows but.....on two of the four occasions we have stayed at the hotel there has been a local fiesta in Punta del Hidalgo and the noise from the massive loudspeakers makes it impossible to sleep - and the music continues to about 3am when the locals then continue with their own party !

I love this area of Tenerife. The green mountains are right next to the coast--and this hotel is tucked in between. Every room has an ocean view. You are looking directly to the waves and can watch the surfers. The sound of the waves relaxes me. The fresh air and refreshing breeze is lovely. The hotel is clean and comfortable with nice furnishings. There is a beautiful pool and a spa. My room was very spacious, had a kitchenette, and the bathroom had a big tub. There is a long boardwalk with plenty of shops and restaurants, a natural seawater pool, and a natural area that's easy to walk to. The breakfast was very good too, with plenty of fresh fruit & juices, eggs cooked to order, and a nice array of tasty items. The staff was friendly and helpful. The vibe at the hotel and surrounding area is low-key--not at all like the rowdy resorts in the south. I loved the tranquility.

Secluded relaxing hotel

We chose this hotel as it was away from the main busy areas of Tenerife as we wanted to have a break with complete relaxation. We had a stunning room on the 8th floor with fantastic ocean views. The spa facilities were excellent and not badly priced treatments. The restaurant had a good variety of food but little in the way of white meat. There was the same menu for lunch and dinner which meant if you wanted every meal at the hotel you may find the menu a little limiting. Otherwise it was very reasonably priced and food was stunningly presented. There were other restaurants along the beach front and also a kitchen in our room which meant we could go to the local shop or to La Laguna's supermarket for smaller meals. La Laguna was the closest town which was about a half an hour bus journey (extremely cheap!!) with plenty of lovely shops, bars and restaurants without being busy. I would recommend a day trip to La Laguna. The staff at the hotel were fantastic with good English as well as other languages. The whole place was extremely clean.

Oasis of calm

The hotel is situated in a very rundown area. However, if you enjoy absolute peace and calm this is ideal! Suggest you take some \"goodies\" if you want to enjoy a glass of wine on balcony. We loved our stay but were disappointed with the town.

Es war mal wieder ein toller Aufenthalt. Wir mögen vor allem die Ruhe. Hier ist man fernab vom Tourismus. Es ist schön entlang der Promenade zu spazieren.
Das Hotel an sich ist perfekt gelegen. Direkt am Wasser. Die Anlage ist gut erhalten. Hier wird geschaut das alles intakt ist und bleibt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und versucht alles Wünsche zu erfüllen.

Я столкнулся с тем, что дополнительные запросы от hotels.com не передаются в отели и это печально. Нужно ждать, чтобы отель подобрал нужный номер. Я заранее просил раздельные кровати, пришлось ждать пока сотрудники найдут нужный номер и подготовят его. В результате, номер предоставили на первом этаже. Эта жалоба относится больше к сервису hotels.com, который не обеспечивает обратную связь клиента и отеля. В этом путешествии я останавливался в двух отелях и в обоих была эта проблема.
Что касается самого отеля, то с ним всё в порядке, я уже не первый раз в нём останавливаюсь и мне там очень нравится. Оценку 4 я поставил из-за интернета отвратительного качества.

Direkt am Meer gelegen, toller Blick, sehr guter Spa-Bereich mit sehr guten Therapeuten, leckeres Frühstücksbuffet, dazu Außenpool und Saunalandschaft. Das Hotel liegt in einem netten, wenig touristischen Dorf mit leckeren Fischrestaurants. Alle halbe Stunde fährt ein Linienbus für 1,45 € nach La Laguna und Santa Cruz.

Seafront hotel with mostly German clients

The first impression and professional way reception was not great. Especially clarity on how the diet-programme and activities are organized leaves new guests a bit lost. The second impression is better. The dinerroom, treatment facilities, hotelpool and sauna are definitely good. The public natural seapool in front of the hotel is definitly the attraction. Itd great for some real swimming and is quite lively. The waves at high tide can be very strong and come crushing into the rocky shore. The fitness room really needs an update. It lacks good weight machines and doesn't even have basics like good dumbels, weights or an excercise bench. As for the Mayr diet that i followed and meals are well prepared. It is good but deffinitely needs more variation. The doktors treadment. Doktor Rolle was professional and interested. The other doktor i had seemed to be going through the motions. Asking me the same questions allmost every visit and aparently forgetting what i'd told her. Simply too much routine there. I think i could have done without. Finally treatments are at a good standaard. The hotel is on the north of the island which has a microclimate that has a lot more clouds than in the south. The difference is quite amazing with the south. The town is small and has a quaint little boulevard with a very restaurants and bars. The rocks are black and there is a costal pathway to a modern high lighthouse. All a bit weary but lots of local people excersising and walking there at sunset

Traumblick auf Meer und Brandung

Die Lage des Hotels direkt am Meer mit wunderbarer Aussicht ist bestechend schön.
Die Gartenanlage wunderschön.Das Personal durchgehend sehr nett!!Kühlschrank und kleine Teeküche( leider ohne Tee!)Die Zimmeraustattung ist allerdings abgeliebt und muss dringend erneuert werden.Sowie auch die Balkonmöbel ( auf dem grossen Balkon!) sind schon arg in Anspruch genommen.Das Frühstück etwas langweilig.Wir würden aber trotzdem wiederkommen!Im kleinen Ort ohne eigentliches Zentrum Lebensmittelgeschäft, Bank, Apotheke., einige Reataurants am Meer.Leihwagen ist empfehlenswert.

Tuffarsi nell'oceano è facile e sicuro!

L'hotel offre delle opportunità rare: la vista dell'oceano è magnifica, la possibilità in pochi minuti di lasciare la stanza ed essere dentro il mare lo rende un posto speciale. Il comfort attorno alla piscina dell'hotel mitiga l'energia dell'oceano, consentendo quel rilassamento che permette di trascorrere una vacanza tranquilla e rigenerante.

Ottimo hotel, pulizia accurata, bagno spazioso e ben tenuto, colazione con prodotti di ottima qualità, un po' scarsa nella scelta per un 4 stelle.
Posizione incantevole fronte oceano.
La reception non è all'altezza della struttura, personale non all'altezza per l'accoglienza, fatto il check-in sei lasciato a te stesso, nessun aiuto per i bagagli. Il personale della reception avrebbe bisogno di una pesante formazione di educazione e gentilezza: basta veramente poco per rendere questa struttura veramente eccellente.

Store og fine rom, litt harde madrasser. Flott terrasse med fantastisk havutsikt. Våknet til fuglekvitter og bølgesus. God frokost og hyggelig betjening i restauranten. Flott hage med basseng og lett tilgang til offentlig saltvannsbasseng. Kort vei til fantastiske fjellturer. Lite med restauranter i nærheten, men veldig god mat i hotellets restaurant.

Wir haben das Hotel für eine Nacht gebucht. Es sieht genau so aus wie auf den Bildern. Wir hatten top Wetter und konnten das Hotel voll geniessen. Tolle Aussicht, schöner Pool, Naturschwimmbad vor der Tür, Frühstück TOP. Es hat und extrem gefallen.

14 Tage Erholung mit Blick auf den Teide und Meer

Ideale Basis für Wanderungen ins Anaga Gebirge. Mit Mietwagen sind auch alle anderen Ziele erreichbar. Nach den Exkursionen Erholung im Wellnessbereich und auf dem Balkon. Für uns war es der zweite Aufenthalt, wir werden sicherlich wieder hinfahren. Der Ort ist ruhig, hat aber ausreichend Restaurants, alternativ kann auch im Nachbarort Bajamar gegessen werden.

Oase der Entspannung in traumhafter Lage

Nur eine Woche über den Jahreswechsel hatten wir zur Verfügung, wie schade. Obwohl das Haus voll belegt war, gab es keine Hektik und keine Engpässe (vom Safeschlüssel einmal abgesehen). Pool, Naturschwimmbad und das Meer direkt vor der Rür, den Teide im Blick und dazu Sonnenschein: super! Das Publikum bot die volle Spannbreite im Altersprofil, natürlich ohne \"Ballermänner\".
Für mich anspruchsvolle Schläferin wurde prompt eine weichere Matratze zur Verfügung gestellt. Guter Service und freundliches Personal allenthalben.
Vor Ort haben wir Halbpension nachgebucht. So schmackhaft das Abendessen auch war (immer Fleisch, Fisch und vegetarisch zur Auswahl), für ein Haus, das in der Selbstdarstellung so viel Wert auf Gesundheit legt, bleibt sehr kritisch anzumerken, dass es gar keinen Salat und kaum Gemüse gab. Das haben wir für unangemessen gehalten. Es gibt einen öffentlichen Personenverkehr, wir fühlten uns allerdings mit dem Mietwagen besser gerüstet. Wie schrecklich ist doch der Süden in Flughafennähe im Vergleich zu Punta dal Hidalgo! Wer bis zum Leuchtturm geht, wird überrascht sein von den sehr günstigen Preisen im Restaurant dort.

Wohlfühlhotel für Menschen., die Ruhe suchen

Wir haben das Oceanic ausgesucht, weil wir weg vom Massentourismus sein wollten. Dem wird das Hotel von seiner Lage her und aufgrund seiner überschaubaren Dimensionen voll gerecht. Wer allerdings Sandstrand und \"Remidemi\" sucht, muß in den Süden der Insel fahren.
Wir haben die morgentlichen Schwimmrunden im Pool ebenso genossen, wie das leckere Frühstück. Die Umgebung bietet Möglichkeiten zum Wandern und für Ausflüge in beschauliche, ursprüngliche Städte, die noch ohne das touristentypische Warenangebot auskommen.
Das Publikum im Hotel ist im Schnitt eher schon etwas älter, Kinder habe ich gar keine gesehen. Eben etwas für Ruhesuchende.
Wir haben uns rundherum wohl gefühlt.
