We had an early morning international flight & arranged with the hotel via hotels.com for a”picnic breakfast”. The hotel confirmed in writing that they would have something prepared. It is for this reason that we didnt arrive with food when we checked in at 10pm the night before our departure. The attendant said that they had nothing for us, the kitchen was closed and was moderately apologetic and offered up no options despite having (2) kitchens open for dinner. The dinner we had was lackluster avd overpriced. Do not recommend staying here. The atmosphere and tone is sterile, it does not convey wellness/soa vibes at all.

Not worth the $300 a night price tag. Felt a little dated, like 80s 90s, had a kitchenette with no pots pan, silverware, etc., bed was comfortable, though, and nice linens and sheets and a very large junior suite. Beware: the north is cold and rainy, so if you're looking for sun stay to the south of Tenerife.

Nice hotel and location, but some downsides.

Hotel is ideally located for the UNESCO listed heart of the town. Our superior room was worth the supplement; spacious and well-equipped with room-safe, large TV, a well-equipped kitchenette and good Wi-Fi. Public areas were smart and there's a comfortable courtyard to enjoy drinks and meals from the adjoining bar, restaurant and breakfast room.

The downsides were: (1) lack of any information about the Spa; (2) lack of information about the Hotel and town in the rooms; (3) poor half-board- breakfast was fine, but dinner choices were limited to the cheapest and most basic options from the a la carte and our offer to pay a supplement for other food options was refused both nights. We were told that we had to waive our Half Board supplement and pay the entire cost if we wanted to upgrade food. First choice wine options unavailable and some staff grumpy.

I stayed here for one night at the end of a beautiful sunny vacation. I thought I will have a cultural experience in the heart on La Laguna just to end up in a dark and gloomy hotel with the worse mattress I ever slept on, paper thin walls and a room overcrowded with furniture.

The staff were excellent.
Breakfast was reasonably good though the quality of the food offered was patchy. Some mornings there was no hot food available while on other days hot food was offered on an individual basis.
A kettle and tea making facilities would have been appreciated.
The spa was closed so I cannot comment on what it offered.
All in a very pleasant stay.

Location was good and the dinner in the restaurant was very good. Breakfast wasn't great and the cutlery wasn't spotless. The spa was quite good, but you had to pay for the room.
My bedroom was next to the lift shaft and there was quite a lot of noise overnight, which woke me several times - the lift going ping, people pulling suitcases along etc. I didn't want to change my room but I politely asked the receptionist if they had any ear plugs for the next three nights. She said no one had had this problem before and they didn't have ear plugs. Bordering on being rude and indignant.

Comfortable, with very affable service and good location. Be advised that building is not very accessible, if that matters to you. It's lovely, but there are a lot of stairs. The rooms include a kitchenette with two burners, small fridge (no freezer), no microwave. Cookware service including an electric kettle and dishes is available for 5euro/day. Bar and restaurant are pleasant. Room was too warm on arrival (in December), but the windows open and set that right quickly. The garage is only accessible with your room key, so you must check in first before parking your car. That might be a challenge for a solo traveler, however there is a surface lot nearby. The complimentary razor and toothbrush are a nice touch.

Very nice hotel.

Ideally situated in the old part of La laguna, close to bars, restaurants and museums. This was an ideal base for walks in the Anaga. Our corner suite was comfortable and spacious. The hotel restaurant was excellent with regard to the quality of the ingredients, the cooking and the presentation. The only fault was the slowness of the service, in two different ways; sometimes there was no staff member around, as the barman and the waiting staff seemed to have other duties that took them away, and when we had ordered the courses took a very long time to arrive which must be the fault of the kitchen rather than the waiting staff. The breakfast buffet was very good and was constantly replenished.

Well located in the historic town centre

We were originally allocated a room next to the lift but this was so noisy we asked to be moved and we were accommodated. We were surprised that our room had a kitchen but no crockery/cutlery and we didn't find out the hotel rented this separately for an additional charge until days later and this was from another guest. We were surprised that the hotel (which had advertised parking) had only 13 bays and these had to be booked in advance. Fortunately, there was a public car park next door. We were told when we checked in that our room did not come with breakfast but 3 days later, when making another enquiry about something else, we were told that it DID come with breakfast. The breakfast was comparatively poor. We had found much better ones nearby. The room was fine although the hallways outside were uncarpeted and so extremely noisy throughout the night. There was a mix-up about the New Year's Eve Gala which Expedia said came with our package and the Hotel said did not. This was never resolved.

Historic, lovely hotel

This is a lovely historic hotel on a quiet square adjacent to the city hall, a historic monastery and other buildings, just a block away from the main historic district of La Laguna. La Laguna itself is a world heritage site, due to the many fine examples of historic architecture, the cobblestone streets, and the many churches and other buildings of interest. The rooms are spacious, with kitchenettes, and the beds are comfortable. The hotel staff were very helpful. The location is key. We did not eat in the restaurant except for breakfast, which was perfectly serviceable. Overall a lovely experience. I would stay here again. Although we were there for vacation, it looks like it is very well set up for business travelers and has nice conference facilities.

Restful but disappointing.

I've slept in more comfortable beds (mattress springs rather old) but the junior suite was spacious with large bedroom, sitting area and bathroom. A small kitchen area with hob provided but utensils only available for an extra charge - a bit mean!

The staff were very pleasant and competent, but were kept a little too busy resulting in service delays.

Would recommend the hotel, but La Laguna is not the place to be when it rains - which was most days during our stay - meaning that we spent most days visiting Puerto de la Cruz and Santa Cruz chasing the sunshine.

Charming, comfortable, convenient

This was my second stay at Laguna Nivaria. Everything was fabulous. Many thanks to Beatrice for arranging a take-away breakfast for me because I had to leave early for the airport. The hotel also loaned me an electrical converter to charge my computer and phone. The room was lovely and hospitality from the staff was warm and efficient. The location in La Laguna is very central and near restaurants and cultural activities. From La Laguna you can easily reach the North Airport quickly and other areas of the island easily. The hotel is charming, clean and comfortable with an accommodating friendly staff. I will always choose Laguna Nivaria when visiting Tenerife. Highly recommend.

charming: on a beautiful little square

This hotel is located in a charming little city on a beautiful square where you can enjoy pedestrian-only streets with shops and cafes. The hotel itself is an historic building and has been lovingly restored. My room was lovely and comfortable. There was a huge bathtub, plenty of light through the windows, plenty of amenities, and the staff was warm and welcoming. The buffet breakfast was spectacular, offering eggs cooked three ways, hot & cold meats, homemade jams, delicious bread, fresh fruit, a variety of cheese, cereal, yogurt, and some very nice local specialties. The hotel is immaculately maintained. I didn't have time to try out the spa, but I imagine it is also great.

We had a lovely few days staying in the hotel. The breakfast was lovely and the freshly squeezed orange juice a nice addition.

The best tapas bars are near the Tower, the Venetian plus the tapas bar next door. Each place superb.

Our room had a kitchenette, but we had to pay an extra 5 euros per day for minimal kitchen utensils and pots & pans. This was not apparent when we booked the room. Surely if the room has a kitchen area you naturally assume they will provide at least minimal utensils to use it! This reflected poorly on what was otherwise a great room and a good hotel.
The bathroom had two showers, one was a steam shower which looked impressive. We struggled to programme it and to get it to work as no instructions were provided. On enquiry at the desk we were told that they had no instructions as it didn't work. To be fare, the shower in the bath was fine and we weren't expecting this facility, but it would have been helpful to know that it didn't work.

We stayed a week in a'comfort room'. It was large (60sqm) and equipped with a kitchenette and dining area; comfortable and generally well appointed. Only downside was rather poor plumbing in the bathroom resulting in water wastage and smell - a new showerhead would use much less water. The dining room and cafe area were both relaxing and attractive spaces; the food and drink good and fairly priced. The hotel staff were very responsive and accessible.

Great stay!

We arrived in the pouring rain and parking was a located in another building across from where our room was. The hotel was located in the historical part of the island(North) so a rental car was definitely necessary. The hotel itself is very elegant and staff was exceptional. The restaurants located in the hotel were tasty and reasonably priced. The breakfast buffet was well maintained with a large variety of different foods. if you want to experience the true island experience then I would highly recommend this hotel. If you just want to go to the beach and lay around the pool then you should stay on the other end of the island with hoards of sunburnt shoppers.

The hotel is in a really good location for exploring the old town. Breakfast was excellent, and we also enjoyed eating at the restaurant. Parking was quite tricky when we arrived, so we opted to pay the 8 euros to use the underground car park. The room itself was in the annex - nothing special, but comfortable enough, although could be a little noisy at times. If staying again I'd try to go for a room in the original building.

Nice Hotel in the Old Town, Close to Airport

We only stayed here for one night, but would gladly return for a longer stay. Our double room was large and comfortable, with a kitchenette and deep jetted tub. There were a number of restaurants and bars within walking distance, as well as some historic buildings. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we were only 10 minutes from the airport, as we had a 7 am flight. Even at 5 am, there was a taxi available at the stand across the street.

Best Hotel to stay in to visit Laguna

This hotel is very good and the best place to stay in the town: 10mins from the airport but in the centre of the historic part of the town Laguna, a UNESCO world heritage site. Breakfast was good, the room very clean, and quiet. Very convenient for visiting the town by foot. BUT: there are NO proper double beds in the new building - just two twin beds pushed together to look like a double bed (I think there are some in the old building, the main part of the hotel, but only if you book a suite). If it is important to you ask about double beds... Re: parking, there is a very convenient, clean and safe parking for the hotel under the new building, with a lift directly to your room from it. But they charge 8 euros per night to use it, which we were NOT told about when we asked in advance. There is a very annoying oneway system in the town, so ask for detailed directions in advance to the parking lot, if you pull up in front of the hotel you have a big loop to get to the garage even though it is next door. In the rooms we saw there was a kitchenette – but no pans, cutlery, plates etc, there was an extra 5 euro charge for this, which seems petty. In four star hotels I've been in, there aren't usually pans, I don't expect this, but there is usually a kettle and mug so you can make yourself a cup of tea, to charge for use of a kettle (which you could only get by getting the full pan set) I find bad in a four star hotel. The spa also charges for even the basic facilities.

A tranquil home away from home

My brother and I visited Tenerife for Carnaval de Santa Cruz. It was quite rainy in La Laguna. In general its colder and rainier in this part of of the island this time of the year (February). Carnaval was easy to get to, it's only a about a 15 Euro cab ride to the Plaza de Candelaria. We rented a car and El Teide is about an hour away. Be sure to check the road conditions to El Teide before you go see him.

While this hotel is not located in the nightlife hotspots of Playa or in the center of Santa Cruz for Carnaval, this was our home away from home for the week that we were there. It's quiet and tranquil, and all the best of Tenerife isn't too far away at all by car, bus, tram or cab.

Reserva de habitación suite,precio desorbitado por el tipo de habitación, en ep baño solo había un dispensador de gel, ni champú, ni acondicionador, ni body milk.
Edificio antiguo, bien situado, pero las habitaciones merecen una reforma para poder llamarlas suite.

Hôtel situé plein centre , pratique pour visiter la ville et à 7km de l’aéroport nord . Ville compliquée pour trouver une place de parking , cependant un grand parking à 7.50€ juste à coté . Petit déjeuners très copieux et variés repas du soir très bons , choix restreint sur la carte de 2 plats le 2eme soir alors que la veille nous avions une carte avec 4 choix .Personnel très sympathique, notre avion était avant 7h du matin , nous avons eu la possibilité de prendre un café et un sac picnic très bien fourni à emporter .

Solo hicimos una noche, según llegamos del aeropuerto para el dia siguiente visitar La Laguna y continuar nuestro viaje por Tenerife. Personal super amable, establecimiento muy cuidado, comodo, bonito.....completamente satisfechos

C’est très propre et très bien situé au cœur de La Laguna.
Il est seulement dommage qu’il faille payer en plus 5 euros par jour pour avoir un kit pour cuisiner. Quand on réserve une chambre avec kitchenette, c’est que l’on veut se préparer un repas de temps en temps.

Gutes Hotel im Ortszentrum

Sehr schönes Hotel im Ortszentrum. Die Zimmer im Nebengebäude zum Innenhof sind sehr ruhig und geräumig. Klimaanlage und Deckenventilator lassen auch heisse Tage erträglich werden. Sehr freundliche mehrsprachige Rezeption. Das Frühstück ist frisch und reichhaltig.
