The staff at this hotel are amazing. Everyone was super helpful and kind. The views from this hotel are amazing. Surprisingly good wifi.

Everything else is average at best, unfortunately. It's not a high end hotel but even for a modest hotel, the constant smell of sewage from the bathroom and the sink is kind of unforgivable. It's also got really poor sound isolation so on Saturday night, we were awake in bed, with all the other loud guests who were running and screaming in the halls until 3am. The lack of water pressure, very little hot water and dirty looking clean towels and sheets are unappealing. The breakfast buffet is not good. Fortunately, town is very close by, is very beautiful and you can get really good food and coffee there.

False Advertisement, Publicidad Falsa! Property too far from city center not a 14 min walk. Hotel located on top of a hill with a very hard walking incline to access the Hotel.

Not recommended too families with children, staff is not knowledable and not willing to help!

I cancelled & was charged the full amounts per room! Staff hangs up the phone when calling for help.

A NIGHTMARE. Im a solo female American traveler who will never be the same after what i experienced at this hotel. I booked a room at Hotel 1988 for 3 weeks. I was 10 days in & everything was going fine, when just before 6 am on July 11, 2022, two unhuman looking individuals tried to force their way into my room after first unlocking the simple pop lock on the door. Did they have a key?? Who knows, but luckily i had the door barricaded being cautious knowing the times we live in, or they would've gotten in. The hotel staff did NOTHING. I believe they were actually complicit in whatever had taken place. The police were called, and I was treated rudely & then asked by the woman hotel manager to leave the hotel. I had paid over $1,000 usd to stay there, and they would'nt refund me anything, or even give me 1 hour on their patio to make other last minute accommodations at another hotel. The police went into my room, took photos of a few of my personal belongings, against my wishes, God knows why, threw them in a trash bag, not even letting me pack my own stuff, and then shoved me down several flights of stairs to the exit. I could not BELIEVE I was being treated like a criminal for no reason when my own safety had just been compromised by the near break in of my hotel room at Hotel 1988. The entire situation was highly dangerous & suspicious. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. AT ALL.

If you want to save money go for it. If you are used to living in these conditions then you will be fine. It’s extremely loud and noisy. From dogs barking all night to hearing people at all hours of the night. The hotel is located on the outskirts from the center of the city. Has good view of the city during the day. Hot nights with no A/C. My biggest complain is the rude receptionist or receptionists at the front desk. This is the only reason why I won’t be back there. Get a better service elsewhere!

The location of the hotel gives you an excellent photo opportunity, but is on the edge of the town on a steep hill. There is only hot water for the shower, not for the sink. Room is small with intermittent internet. Breakfast is ok. I would only stay one night.

Not accesible for handicap people. Many many stairs. Other than that great. Parking is hard to find. If you go and there’s no parking you’ll have to pay out of pocket $100pesos to park elsewhere. It’s not near downtown takes about 15 minutes to get down there. Great staff! And complimentary breakfast.

Nice and friendly staff. Hotel is beautiful and clean. The restaurant was a bit unorganized and overwhelmed by our large group and some family members never got their food, but other staff members stepped in to help as best they could. Their enchiladas were great and their breakfast was delicious!

The hotel is very nice and hhas a great view of Guanajuato, however there's a lot of uphill walking and very steep streets if you're driving. It is near the historic city center. About 10 to 15 min walk downhill. It has a nice pool with a view and lots of steps. It is not handicapped accessible. It has a nice restaurant with accessible prices. Wifi is depending on the area your room is. Mine was really bad (206) There's no a/c in the room or a fan.
Overall is nice just for sleeping. Although I could hear my neighbor snore and thought it was the llorona. Parkingis off-site and on the street. If you want to park it on their uphill driveway, you'll need to leave the keys so they can move it. There are quite a bit of amenities that can be delivered to your room.

El hotel esta bien en sus instalaciones, el desayuno bien a secas, la ubicacion no esta exactamente en el centro pero si muy cerca caminando o en carro.,,, Lo unico que si me molesto es que deben ser mucho mas explicitos a que NO es apto para personas discapacitasas o de la 3a edad. NO tiene elevador, tampoco tiene estacionamiento solo una rampa bastante inaccessible por carros obstruyendo el acceso;;; la entrada principal al Hotel es bastante limitado, siempre tiene carros atravezados y debes subir facil unos 30 metros de altura en escaleras caminado debido a un mal control de carros que obstruyen el acceso. Tambien ya confirme que en Expedia o Hoteles.com no tienen ningun aviso o informacion sobre que no es apto para personas dicapacitadas o de la 3a edad y esto debe ser mucho mas claro para entenderlo.

The hotel was a close 15 min walk to the Centro (downtown). Clean, but very very old. You can hear the echo of people talking anywhere in the hall. It even sounds like they are in your room. There was no iron in the room and only 1 plug in. The beds were my main complaint. The mattresses were the hardest and most uncomfortable matress I have ever slept on (we travel at least 8 times through the year). To top it off they only have some old thin covers on the bed. It was cold at night and could have sure used an extra cover. The staff was nice. Also, keep in mind this hotel is uphill and there are many steps to walk up if you have an elderly or disabled person with you, it is not recommended. Like it said, only plus side is that it’s close to the centro.

The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the center. This hotel only has stairs. No elevator. The first room we got smelled really bad and the beds weren't comfy, so I asked the receptionist if I could switch. Second room was better. Beds are small and if you're tall your feet will dangle. No wifi in rooms, only lobby. Rooms are super basic. Breakfast isn't that great. But hotel staff was great! We booked a tour that we were skeptical about and the staff reassured us that we were safe. But the maids left our door open when they cleaned the room. Overall I say skip this hotel and get one closer to the center because the price might not be worth it considering the taxis you'll end up taking.

Beware of jaded receptionist.

I loved the hotel but my reception lacked so much. The night employee, Pedro made me feel
Like I was bothering him. He even questioned me in the hallway half hour after I had already checked in! I spoke to management about him and they were very obliged to remedy the situation. Because of their complete attention to the matter, I will stay here again. As long as Pedro is not the welcome committee.

Bad hotel. Stay away. Not worth it!

Located near a rough neighborhood, this hotel is not senior friendly. No elevator service, and to many stairs to climbs , especially if you are either a senior citizen, or a disabled person. If I knew of these conditions, I would have never book this hotel! The rooms don't even have phones in the rooms so that loved ones can call in. Horrible hotel overall!

El dia que llegamos nos dieron una habitación sucia, ropa de cama y almohadas olian a suciedad, desde que abrí la habitación un olor terrible a caño. Nos cambiaron la habitación, pero la primera impresión fue ésa!!! Poca atención en la limpieza. Las amenidades también les hace falta atención, el jacuzzi y la alberca muy frias. Muchas restricciones poca atención.

Tiene plaga de chinches, salimos a media noche, mal atencion al resolver este tema y segun ellos es frecunte por vieajeros sucios, no toman su responsabilidad, alber a y jacuzzi agamua verde, no estuvios mas tiempo por lo que no encontramos mas cosas sucias

El hotel en general es muy bonito pero sí falta hacer remodelación a las habitaciones , hay que considerar un punto muy importante Ya que no cuentan con aire acondicionado (lo cual es indispensable y básico hoy en día para un hotel)
Lo que me gustó mucho es que también va incluido el desayuno ,y muy bueno Por cierto , muy buena atención en general , nada más hay que considerar esos puntos antes mencionados

Es un Hotel a las afueras de la ciudad, al lado oriente fácil acceso, está en desniveles hay que subir muchas escaleras, pero te otorga una vista muy bonita de mirador, es agradable, buen desayuno, les falta un poco de atención en restaurante, pero en relación precio servicio está muy bien, el detalle malo es que te quieren cobrar estacionamiento

Tuve un par de inconvenientes, la habitación que me asignaron no estaba arreglada, las camas desatendidas y un calcetín. Tuve que esperar unos minutos. Aque asignaran otra habitación. El agua en la regadera no salía de la llave caliente, después de un buen rato salió agua caliente pero la presión era muy baja. Mejoren esos aspectos ya que el hotel es lindo y tiene una vista increíble.

La construcción y fachada muy bonita, pero....
las habitaciones están descuidadas y faltas de mantenimiento. Muebles viejos y desvensijados, cortinas en mal estado, baños con olor a drenaje, regaderas muy ineficientes, excusados sucios(se ve que los lavan sólo por encimita), almohadas duras.

Deje mi automovil (un deportivo) en valet parking que el hotel cobra $100 pesos y lo dejaron en su pensión, al dia siguiente me asomo por la ventana del hotel donde la chica de recepción me estaba indicando donde estaba la pensión para ir a recogerlo y lo primero que veo es mi automovil esta abierto y 3 personas (externas al hotel) moviendolo en neutral, una adentro por la ventana del copiloto esculcando el automovil, por lo que enseguida le dije a la persona de recepción que ese era mi carro, para reportarlo y llegue corriendo a resolver la situación yo personalmente. ESTA SITUACION FUE SUMAMENTE SOSPECHOSA.

PUBLICIDAD ENGAÑOSA. Las fotos que hay en Booking y Google son fantasía: en realidad, las habitaciones están muy muy viejas, el baño peor que de motel. No dan toallas suficientes para la cantidad de personas hospedadas. Sin aire acondicionado u forma de ventilar la habitación. Muchisimo calor.
La zona de piscina no compensa las habitaciones: el agua sucia de muchos insectos, con lámparas rotas (cristal cortado al alcance de la mano).
