This property says it is city center, BUT you have to go WAY up on a hill that is very hard to get to. Plus, the safe box wasn't working, the blow dryer barely worked, the back balcony door did not lock, and the mini fridge did not work.

This hotel was good, however we wanted to turn on the air conditioning since it was hot and we couldn't turn it on, we call maintenance and they never could fix it neither. The only restaurant nearby is the one of the hotel which is okay. The views from the hotel are the best.

Really disappointed to be given a room with no view of the city. We booked 2 x Junior Suites to get bigger rooms and the good views but one of the suites was small, no view of city, and air conditioning doesn’t work. Travelled all the way from Australia, so very disappointing.

The staff was horrible. The evening desk person was rude and did not help at all. The air conditioning in two of the rooms did not work and she gave us the run around, they were never fixed. Some of The VIP benefits were not honored. We were supposed to get a bottle of wine and although i requested them, we never received them.

The main attraction is the view, morning, afternoon or night you see the city for all it’s colorful beauty that it is known for! The view makes it difficult to leave the hotel!

The room didn't have AC and it was so hot, we opened the window and the noise from the city center was really bad. They brought us a fan but it didn't help that much. Our suite was dated, the carpet was stained. I had to use socks to walk on it. The bathroom was old and not suitable for people with knee problems, you have to climb a couple of steps to get in to the shower. I am sure this was a beautiful house way back then. You pay for the view which was incredible and the staff was really nice. The food is good.

I have mixed feelings about this place. The staff was very accommodating and bent over backwardsto ensure your stay was comfortable. Big shoutoutto Alicia. The views are stunning from the rooms and restaurant. There are many aspects of the hotel that are quite charming such as the construction with its large wood beams, tile and wood floors, custom hand carved wood doors and cabinetry. However, the hotel is very dated and the rooms, especially the bathrooms could use updating and a lot of TLC. Especially the bathrooms. I'm sure that back in the day the hotel was a jewel however, it has been let go and the room standards of maintenance and upkeep have had little attention. I was disappointed to hear the hotel is part of a chain of Misión hotels. It's obvious that the company CEO has not stayed in this diamond in the rough.. We would love to return however not until changes are made.

The Hotel is located at the top of the town, so you have a spectacular view, But our rooms carpet was super dirty as well as the bathroom.
This hotel has so much potential, but needs a lot of Tender Love and Care.

I don’t usually write reviews but I left like I really needed to for this stay. Let me start off by saying this needs to be removed from Expedia VIP Access. I chose this hotel because it had a VIP Access so I thought it was a great pick.
Check in was at 3 or 4 can’t remember, we arrived earlier, asked if the room was ready said yes and we were happy they let us check in earlier. The staff was really nice.
Got to our room fell in love at first sight, it was cute, the view was nice. Little by little we started to notice things.
The sheets and comforter were stained/dirty.
The bathroom did not flush very well.
When taking a shower the water wouldn’t drain, when I went to the lobby and talk to the front desk they told me to use the next room’s bathroom. As if they knew about the issue and just refused to fix it.
I had booked the presidential suite, when I walked down the hallway I saw another room say presidential suite. When I ask front desk about it they advised me that didn’t have it available (they downgraded me without telling me). When I asked for a refund on the difference I paid they said no it’s based on availability.
At night it gets a windy. Since there’s doors to the balcony, they were banging all night and could hardly sleep.
The curtains were not big enough for the windows and had holes, when morning came the beaming sunlight shined threw.
The refrigerator did not work.
Housekeeping cleaned the room despite the do not disturb sign.

Stunning location. Hard to find by car, but if you keep trying your GPS will lead you there. Views are spectacular, food and service were very good. I think we were the only guests both nights, and there are only six guest rooms. The large garden is beautiful but getting a bit run down.

The hotel is an old \"Hacienda / Ranch\" it is a great place if you are wanting to be away from the crowds, however getting into the city is quite complex (10 mins walking on a high speed road + Funicular) or via taxi since it is located on top of a mountain with a wonderful view... The maintenance of the room, especially the bathroom is pretty bad

Make sure to confirm an online booking

I have to say it was the worst experience ever. I booked 2 rooms more then 3 months in advance. When we arrived after traveling all night they said we only booked one room blaming me for the error. After i found the reservation confirmation from July clearly showing 2 rooms booked. The person then started blaming Expedia for the error. Never offering an apology or solution. We left exhausted and searched for a hotel on one of the busiest weekends of the year (cervantino). After we told them we wanted to cancel they offer to look for a room at a sister hotel. At this point, we wanted nothing more to do with them and left. We called our travel booking company who confirmed that we had reserved two rooms. What made it worse was that it was a present for my brother’s birthday which was that day. I can understand that mistakes happen but their nasty way of dealing with it when they were wrong and we had travel all night made it a horrible experience.

The presidential suite was very large, comfortable and with great views.
The hotel location is not convenient for exploring the city if you don’t have your own car there. We had to take taxis every time we wanted to visit the city or go downtown for meals.
We had three problems during our stay. I realized the waiter added 15% to our restaurant bill despite being asked to add 10%. We pointed this out to the manager, who said we’d be reimbursed, which never happened. The real issue was not the tiny amount concerned but the break of trust.
On our second day, we arrived at 2:30 pm after lunch and found our rooms not cleaned. We were told room cleaning took place between 1 and 3 pm only and waited in the lobby until the room was ready at 3 pm.
Then on our last day, we had to leave to the airport at 7:30 am without breakfast, as the kitchen was still closed, and despite being told upon checking in that breakfast was from 7 to 11 am. The receptionist at that time said it actually started at 7:30, but if it were really the case, why didn’t the other receptionist who knew we were leaving earlier and that breakfast was included in the rate, didn’t mention anything? It was another example we had of a lacking service during our stay in different Mexican cities, despite choosing only 4 and 5-star hotels.
A positive note to the kind lady that cleaned the rooms and did our checkin when we arrived and the receptionist was nowhere to be seen.

I had some complaints for the staff but it does not affect the quality of the hotel.

The receptionist cannot speak English.
We ordered the presendential suite,but they gave us the regular room at first.

Great view but heater and WiFi need help

The room had a great view and the hotel was nice. We traveled in February so the temperature got down to 40 each night (3) and the heat was not working. Our room was ice cold and I slept with sweats on and under 4 blankets. I froze when I got out of the shower.

The WiFi service was not good in the room either.

We paid about $145 plus tax about $175/night so I would of expected better service with the heater and WiFi.

We loved our room with its windows overlooking the city (even the tub had a window overlooking the city!). It was clean and well-supplied with lovely Italian soaps and lotions and soft terry bathrobes. We also had a delicious dinner in the dining room and breakfast the next morning. The staff were courteous and helpful and we'll definitely recommend this beautiful hotel to friends.

Amazing views from Room, just a couple minutes walk to El Pipila. Room was HUGE and everyone working at the Hotel were amazing. My only Negatives were the bathrooms. They were huge, but they needed to be updated. The Shower is a water wasting shower. Gallons of water flow from shower head, wish they would update to a water friendly shower. Also only one of the 2 vanities were working, and the working one only had the cold water working. Wish the furniture was also set up better to enjoy the incredible views. I saw that they were building more room, i hope they take advantage of the amazing views for the new construction.

This was a lovely hotel with friendly, helpful staff, but the location is less than ideal for those that want to stroll around town late at night. We took the funicular down into town one day, and walk down a foot path another time. We are young(ish) and wore comfortable shoes, but location would be less than ideal for those that are not fully ambulatory.

Beautiful location high above Guanajuato. Presidential suite had fantastic views of the city. Staff was very accommodating. However few spoke English. Room had adequate furnitings, was very spacious and had a beautifully tiled large bathroom. You had to take cabs to get to the town but cost was very reasonable.

Waking up with church bells of the city was priceless.
Best service and breakfast was very authentic.
If you go to Guanajuato this is the perfect place to stay in, away from the loudness.
Hotel is close access to the funicular which will take you into town for only 40 pesos.

Hotel with a beautiful view of Guanajuato

I'm sure this hotel was gorgeous in its prime when it was new but it seems to be old and tired looking. It needs a renovation, especially the rooms. There wasn't anything big, just things like cleaning up the grout around tile repairs, chips in the tile, brass fixtures need to be polished, needs handles for two of the cabinets and a drawer. We had difficulty with our door lock from the inside and finally on the last day it broke completely. Staff had to work on it for awhile in order to let us out of the room. The staff doesn't speak English but charades works quite well.
However, the nice things about the hotel are the magnificent views from our room overlooking the city as well as at the restaurant, great location with easy access to the funicular, the cactus garden in front of the hotel with a view of sunset over the mountains on the other side of it and very good signs directing you to the hotel. (We had a car which we didn't need to use until we left.)
Guanajuato is a quaint town with activities going on every day we were there and several tourist attractions such as museums (the mummy one in particular), silver/gold/copper mines, and cathedrals. We went to the dam area and rented a paddle boat for an hour. Lots of people there grilling and playing around the lake. Simply a delightful town. A must see if you're in the area of Leon or San Miguel de Allende.

Habitación limpia, pero le falta de mantenimiento a las habitaciones, la alfombra se ve vieja y descuidada al igual que los sillones.
Si te toca evento en el hotel es horrible porque se escucha toda la fiesta toda la noche. Fuera de eso, el hotel está bien ubicado, tiene una buena vista, buena atención, y está limpio.

El hotel tiene solo 6 habitaciones muy lindas. La vista es increíble. La comida es buena… pero…
Le falta mantenimiento. Si hay gente hablando (nos tocaron gritos y fiesta) parece que estuvieran adentro de tu cuarto. Las almohadas muy incomodas. Solo lo recomiendo si vas a un evento que se realice ahí.

El mobiliario mal cuidado, el baño horrible. El televisor y el aire acondicionado no funcionaban y tampoco hubo wifi. Cuando mi marido fue a quejarse la recepcionista le pregunto: Y no os habían avisado que no funcionan? Y eso en un hotel bastante caro. Lo único bueno eran las vistas y la cama cómoda. Una de nuestras peores experiencias. No lo recomendamos en absoluto.

Hotel de ensueño

Fui a festejar mi aniversario y en verdad la estancia en el hotel excelente, es un hotel historico que conserva piezas originales, lo que le da un toque único, la atención del personal inmejorable, son oportunos y atentos.
En cuanto a las vistas, son de ensueño.
El restaurante muy sabrosa la comida.
Lo recomiendo ampliamente.
