My room was well kept but had no microwave, no refrigerator, no table in my room and no cups of any kind. The included breakfast was adequate. It's in a decent location but I would not consider it a three-star hotel lacking those amenities.

We like the are us pretty close to the mommy museum the center the Callejón del beso etc. what we don’t like is the towels of the hotel are so hard the beds mattres are hard. Also if you bring kids pls keep the away from the glass in the vanity from the room the not safe my son accidentally broke. And if you do they will charge 500$ on your card and 100$ cash.

Hotel was okay . door to room is very flimsy kinda scary anyone could pop the door open . food was okay . kinda weird to be out and get back to hotel @midnight and hotel doors locked and lights off never been to a hotel that does that . we literally had to pound on door to get in. look like we woke up whom ever opened door to us because it was dark in waiting lobby that to me is not right a lobby should always be opened plus a staff member at desk.

Hotel is old and dated. The stay was average.
Beds were not comfortable and bedding was ripped. Smallest tvs I have ever seen and they had horrible reception
Staff were not very helpful and short when asked a question.
Wi-fi was horrible and I had to go to a cafe to get my work done. They had different passwords and servers per floor and none of them worked.
Ended up going to a different hotel for night 2

Our room was located next to a building that made a loud "boom" and it was startling. Also, it was a bit uncomfortable that out bathroom window faced the hallway. From outside our room, we could see a room's, that was right below us) toilet seat. It was clean.

Charming Historic Hotel

Not what I was expecting! I booked this hotel one day before travel to Guanajuato, I read only 2 reviews and they said it was a nice hotel and great experience, I should’ve kept reading more. When we arrived and saw the location didn’t like it but I thought it will be better inside! Nope! The staff was great but once we got our key with like a ruler thing hanging I don’t know how to call it. When I opened the door WOW! It looked old 2 windows in the room one looking to another wall,and another to the hallway. No phone to call the lobby I had to go down for roulette paper because they only leave one roll, the tv we could only watch 3 channels blurry, super thin blanket had to asked for an extra. You could hear EVERYTHING from the hallway, next room, and the next room, a lady was taking a shower at 7 am singing and we would hear it as if she was next to us. There was a dinning chair in case we needed one 😂. And we were told that our rooms were just remodeled, I can’t imagine how the rest of the rooms were. If you want to spend $20 dls more you could get something better at better location in zona centro.

The service of the staff was wonderful! The breakfast was formal sitting & very delicious. The location was perfect. Everything we had hoped to see was within walking distance and yet the hotel was quiet due to a lovely park right across the street. I would highly recommend this hotel! Muy limpio serca de todo caminando podíamos ir a los lugares importantes. El area muy tranquila un parque enfrente muy tranquilo de noche y de día.
Lo único que no nos gusto es la comida chilaquiles huevo y frijoles que es el desayuno incluido todos los días. no avía variación.
Y los pancakes y fruta te la vendían.
Pero todo bien muy hamables en recepción.

The hotel is good, the service at the restaurant was amazing the waiter was so nice and all was clean. Room wise the housekeeping was awesome and nice. Really wasn’t much of services needed. Over all a good stay. Host day of check in was very informative.

We had no issues with the staff but there seemed to be a family staying there the weekend we stayed over. They were extremely loud at late hours and it did not help that everything anyone said or did would echo down the hall. If you’re looking for a goodnight sleep… I would not recommend staying here.

Hotel Del Cantador review

Pros: Free breakfast, ample rooms, good, friendly staff.
Cons: Can hear a pin drop in adjacent rooms, but sounds like bowling pin. Neighbor's TV viewing choices, too.
Don't stay in room 106 - some days, starting at 5 a.m., loud, repetitive noise coming from below the window, is like hot air jet engine balloon inflating; will wake you up and not stop and goes off every 2 minutes. Front desk knows about this, but will still book that room.
Wifi is either lo-fi or no-fi in several rooms. Cell reception also not great, so brush up on your Morse code or bring carrier pigeons.
Most rooms' windows are right next to hallways, so it's noisy when other guests walk/ talk going by.
Drapes don't always cover all the window areas, so dress/undress in bathroom, instead.
No heater or A/C in room, only floor stand fan. Can get cold at night, so take advantage of thin blanket stored in the open closet.
No pool, but no worries - if you're in room 106, due to misaligned shower doors, you'll get a free wading pool when you step out of the shower.
TV was small, but would make a passable laptop screen.
No table to eat or work on; the side table is 2-tiered, so doesn't easily lend itself to either use.
Hope your experience here is better than mine.

The chilaquiles were delicious! I was very disappointed because, ACCORDING TO THE TAXI DRIVER, The front desk staff charged us with MORE than 10.00 U.S. DOLLARS, just for calling us a taxi!! I couldn't believe that! We were offered to go out side and stop any taxi, or they could call a taxi for us, and since is a place far from home and for safety reasons we decided to accept their offer and have them call a taxi for us, BUT we were never told that we were going to be CHARGED with more than TEN AMERICAN DOLLARS just for that phone call. I called the hotel to verify if they charged that, but the lady at the front desk had many answers and anger, but never deny that they charged us $10.00 dollars just to call us a taxi. A LOT A MONEY JUST FOR A SIMPLE PHONE CALL. (we were never told we were going to be charged if they call a taxi for us). Very unfair

The place is a decent place to stay. The price is fair for what you get. The park across the street is quiet and good for a stroll. My only negative about the hotel is the curtains in the room need to be adjusted to ensure privacy but thats an easy fix. No AC but fan in room is enough to keep it comfortable. The location is very walkable to many attractions in the el centro area.

I paid a lot for parking. It was not close to the hotel. They didn’t have a place to temporarily park the car while checking in. I had to park far away and drag my bags a few blocks. The parking garage closes from 10pm to 7am. I couldn’t get some things out of the car. The front desk guy had huge muscles. He had a really bad attitude.

Second time staying here and probably the best hotel experience I have had in Mexico. Lovely people at the front desk, excellent location and well appointed room. Our room faced into the hallway so there was no street view but that was ok for us. Street views can be noisy sometimes so that's a personal preference. Great job Hotel Mansion del Cantador!

Hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful. Good location. Close to Mercado Hidalgo. I didn't like that there was a hall way light and they didn't turn it off until past 11pm so when you lay down you can see the light. Hotel is being remodeled very nice but lots of noise starting around 930am. Rooms are just missing towel racks and soap dish besides that very comfortable. Free breakfast is the same every morning. Egg, chilaquiles and beans. they charge for anything else you want to switch it to.

Bathroom was nice and modern but shower was cold in the morning. It was hot later on.
Cleaning chemicals were so strong the first day, I considered finding another place to stay. Better the 2nd day. They should replace the old bedspreads and curtains.

Hotel Mansión del Cantador is a nice hotel across from a beautiful park. The location allows for easy walking to everything you want to see in Guanajuato. Breakfast is included and is a full breakfast in a restaurant. Staff is excellent. Lobby and rooms are comfortable and clean. The hotel has rules prohibiting alcohol. Hotel guests are prohibited from drinking a single beer in their own room. There is a list a of charges and fees for things like breaking toilets. There is a sunning area on the top floor. There may be a garden too, but we could not gain access.

I would say that the hotel is comfortable, a bit worn, spruceup needed. I have never encountered such a wonderful group of employees, they give the place a warm family feeling, and nothing is too much trouble. I was looking for an English speaking guide, however, most were quite expensive. I had given up when on the way past the front desk the young woman at the desk stopped me to let me know she'd found another guide for a lower rate, he was excellent.

Full breakfast is included in the rate, very good meal.

A perfect location to see the magnificent city.

The staff tried very hard to deal with my very poor Spanish. Because it was a very busy weekend in Guanajuato it was very noisy in the hotel. The guest were up late into the night , which made it difficult if not impossible to sleep. ll in all I left the city with mixed feelings.

Hotel Mansion del Cantador has a splendid location facing a public garden, and the fifth-floor terrace gives panoramic views of this most picturesque city in Mexico. All employees (reception desk, chamber maid, and the wait staff who served the complimentary breakfast) were efficient and helpful. Very much worth the moderate rates.

It's ok...

This is an ok hotel the staff is really friendly but the rooms are a bit dated , of course everything is extra ! Even the remote control 200mx deposit to get one and wen you do there's only about 4 Chanel's, I stayed there for 2 night and honestly becouse of its location I will not complain , it's a couple of blocks from where you need to be all the time !

The hotel was clean but it was very noisy and one had to walk a long ways to get to the central plazas. there is a nice park in the front of the hotel and if you walk around the block towards the back, you will find the bus stop that takes you around different routes in town. you do get your moneys worth though.

The hotel was nice and clean. The staff was attentive and helpful. Food was good however the orange juice wasn´t natural. They don´t offer parking other than the street which is difficult to find in that town since the streets are very small. The bed was a little hard for my comfort level even though I like firm mattresses.

Pleasant stay that included breakfast, nice location across the street from a park and within close walking distance to the historic center. The hotel reserved a spot for us to park our car in the front, but otherwise lacks parking. Breakfast was good, though no menus were displayed, nor did anyone care to explain our options to us. Staff does not speak English, but we had no problems communicating with our broken Spanish.

A la vista de la aplicación, se ve un hotel super lindo, sin embargo hay personal en respecion super grosero y poco empático incluso irrespetuoso, las habitaciones nad que ver con las fotos, son pequeñas sin mantenimiento, sin ventilación, sin seguridad en la puerta, las camas viejas e incomodas, no cuentan con estacionamiento Y LOSAS PRECUPANTE " TIENEN CHINCHES" A MI HIJO LE DEJARON MUCHAS MARCAS ADEMAS CUCARACHAS, atrapé una chiche en un pedazo de cinta adeciba y baje a recepción y se la mostré a la señorita que estaba en ese momento no quise hacer un pancho por qué se que también es fuente de trabajo de muchas personas, pero sinceramente en esta plataforma no le puedo callar ya que esos bichos son peligrosos para la salud, por lo que cuesta la habitación nada deberían ofrecer mejor servicio y limpieza.

En mi experiencia el personal fue muy amable pero el estado de las instalaciones no es el óptimo, mi regadera y baño no servían, el papel higiénico era mínimo.
Las paredes entre los cuartos son muy delgadas y todo el tiempo se escuchaba una niña que gritaba, lloraba y azotaba puertas.
El desayuno es rico pero no diría que suficiente, la atención en el restaurante es normal (solo hay una persona atendiendo a todo el lugar)
La ubicación es buena pero ya necesitaba que terminara mi estancia =(

El hotel huele como a hospital, ya que literalmente está a un lado del IMSS.
Las camas estan super incomodas y se oye mucho ruido por lo que es dificil dormir y no vas a descansar.

La atención del personal muy buena, el hotel es céntrico y puedes caminar al centro de Guanajuato o tomar taxi afuera. La limpieza del hotel es buena, el desayuno incluído en el costo de la habitación también. En mi opinión el precio por noche es alto, pues no han modernizado el mobiliario.
