It was terrible didn’t sleep there. After alerting the receptionist with issues got a response from him saying he doesn't understand English. No manager was available until another 3 days to cancel my room so ended up paying for it. Apparently its supposed to be 4 stars but worst than a hostel room.

Great and safe location. Lovely breakfast. Moderate size room but their friendly staff work hard to make my stay enjoyable. There are lots of hotels of this size around but I've been coming back to Pera Rose since 2012 because it give me (a female) all what I need when traveling solo.

Some turkish lira fees are paid in euro

Services:
I've requested some laundry, and i have signed the receipt with 5 Turkish liras, but upon checkout they have counted it as 5 euros, and when i requested a receipt they have mentioned it as extra charges, i think this is an act of a crime, to write prices in TRL and getting them paid in EURO.

Staff:
Staff are rude, we reached at 1am and they told us to wait, and showed them the booking receipt, the agent kept on telling us your name is not on the system, we have almost begged him to check our names but he kept on saying get back to your agency in a rude way, then we have insisted to check the names using our passports, he took our passport and found our names, then he said what are you waiting for? we said our room!!, the whole thing was flipped to 180 degrees, very disappointing,

Rooms:
Very very small, it was a double room for me and my friend and they gave us one bed its even smaller than queen size bed, then early morning we have booked another hotel for my friend, do they expect a room for 2 with this small bed.

Nice hotel close to Taksim Square

The staff in the hotel are very friendly and helpful, they help you with your luggage, hotel taxi, explaining prices, where good touristy places are. the breakfast is good. room service good. i have no complaints what so ever. everything was great, from the bathroom (which i'm very fussy about, because i like it to be clean and the shower temperature to be hot) to the bedroom. closet space was good, tv was cool.

Pera Rose - November 2014

I spend 6 nights in Pera Rose in November 2014. Everything was really great. Staff are helpful and friendly, breakfast was good, room was clean and service was very good. The only thing abut the hotel was street noise on Friday nights (and only Friday nights), which made it impossible to sleep. One other thing was, even though I stayed in a non-smoking floor, the room still had some cigarette smell.

A wonderful experience

me an my two friends spent 3 nights at the hotel, it was a pleasent experience and I would recommend it to other travellers.
it's a simple hotel that served our basic needs very well and matchd our budget. The location is great just a few minutes walk from the istiqlal street. also there is a taxi station with very reasonable prices just next to the hotel.
the rooms are small, a triple room is actually a double room with an extra bed.. but it didn't reallu bother us.
the breakfast is great in my opinion. the staff is very kind and helpfull.

The location is good 400m from the tunnel (1 station to get to Karakov tram station). The room view is bad. The room looks dark. small TV. Breakfast is good but it was the same for 6 consecutive days.

Great location at pera, close to istiklal street

Located near tünel (the tramway that takes you to karaköy) and sishane metro stations. A 10 min walk away from taksim square. Possibly the best place to live in istanbul. Good facilities, but the wifi may be weak depending on the room you're in so check it before accepting the room assigned to you.

Great Location - And That's it....

The hotel was a 2 minute walk to Istiklal street. The location was great but just outside were small restaurents which were open late till night and was really noisy.The breakfast was sub standard, the room was small, the bathroom sink was cracked, and the hand shower broken etc etc.. The reception staff were not helpful. There was no response to room service, no weighing scale or umbrellas were provided after request (even though there is a shop selling umbrellas in the next street). The worst part of the stay was that house keeping staff used the pay TV and also helped themselves to the refrigerator when we were out and I was questioned by the reception during check out. They did not even bother to apologise after accusing me of using these paid facilities which I had not used. I would rate this hotel 2.5 stars and would suggest guests to look for better options.

try not to spend much time in the single rooms

guests in single rooms may not want to spend much time in them -- the windows for all single/standard rooms face a small interior column, allowing some natural light to come in but no view of sky or city; there was also no chair or desk in my room, leaving only the bed for sitting; these two elements made it difficult to spend much time in my room; breakfast was good; the rooms seem to be getting worn down and tired and in need of renovation or upgrades, so i can not see this being more than a 3 star hotel right now

Pera Rose Hotel

I stayed in this hotel for four nights on my stop over on the way home. Exceptional location A +, good service, helpful stuff, great breakfast- a lot of fresh selections. Hamam - Turkish bath didn't work, but they have exchange privilege with next door hotel Pera Tulip, so I enjoyed spa at the end of the day in that location. Overall highly recommended especial for the very reasonable price which I got. If I will return, I definitely will stay there again.

We are very disappointed with the size of the room, as there was hardly any space to move around once we put our luggage down. The internet worked intermittently and we had to repeatedly ask for the router to be restarted. Every time we called the reception for something, we were told it would be done and then we had to repeatedly call again and were informed that they \"forgot\". This happened 4 times in the 2 days we stayed there. The only bright side was the quality of the breakfast.

Best location to stay and a nice hotel!

ParaRose is located in the Istiklal area right where u want to be staying. It is surrounded by gr8 shopping, bars, clubs, restaurants, etc. Front desk staff is awesome and speak English..were very helpful in planning & booking tour, call taxi, guide u, etc. While the hotel is right around nightlife, u don't hear any sounds in ur room & can have a gr8 sleep (unlike some other hotels where you can't sleep till 4 a.m.). I would have given a 5 rating but could not due to the following, which I think, could be easily corrected by the hotel Management: (1) there was lot of noise coming in from the A/C (water sounds), (2) I could not control the temperature from my room, though mostly it was ok (3) housekeeping staff was creepy. The woman came and knocked on my door quite a few times on day of my check-in. I told her that I was here but she would check again and again. That made me think if she was checking if people were not there and she could ..... (God knows!) and it also indicated the hotels housekeeping lists were not updated (4) windows were not sealed properly so I could feel wind chill coming in. (5) Breakfast was not good at all. Apparently it seemed there were a lot of choices but there weren't. Same things were repeated. It would be great to either have some turkish items OR at least add waffles, pan cakes and omelettes cooked to order. I want to thank the hotel Management and tell that I would again stay at ParaRose.

Pretty good for the price. There was not anything too exciting or outstanding, but it's very sustainable and a little above average. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and promt to your request. We were assigned to a room facing to the back, so it's facing to the wall of the building across. I bet the front is much better. The location of the hotel is very convenient, in between the new uptown (20 minute walk to Taksim square), and the galata bridge heading down to the older town, spice market, and grand bazaar (we made it to all these areas in one day on foot). Its 20 min walk up to the ferry to take to you Prince Island, a romantic town with bikes, horse and carriages. We stayed there 3 nights. nondescriptive, but fairly convenient, and great priced for the budget.

We had a wonderful stay. The location is excellent, it is very close to the Istikule (?) Ave (restaurants, clubs, shopping), Galata tower, and the historical peninsula. It is also walkable distance to the ferry to Asia side or Prince's island. Our room is quiet. The staff was very helpful. The only annoyance is that the housemaid did not provide tea bags, so we had to ask for it every night. But the staff was very willing to help.

Stayed in Istanbul for 3 nights. We got a matchbox sized room the first night, but they moves us into a reasonable sized room for the next 2 nights. The hotel is a basic business-traveller type hotel -very friendly and informative front desk, clean but basic rooms, filling breakfast etc, but luxury it is not. The major plus is of course the location - 5 minutes walk from Istiklal street / Taksim and a whole load of excellent restaurants / bars. Costs <15 lira by cab to the old city. Unless you are a luxury traveller, I would recommend

Very nice stay

I stayed 3 nights at this hotel. After complaining that the Internet access went up and down more often than the elevator on a busy morning, they moved me to a new room. No problems thereafter. The staff was courteous and helpful. The room was adequate, but too small for twin beds. I would have much preferred a double bed in any case. The shower was large with plenty of hot water. The breakfast buffet had a lot of local products, most of which did not appeal to me. But I still left the table feeling satisfied.

Overall, great hotel. Rooms were a little bit run down, but very clean. FYI there are smoking and non-smoking floors so if you do not smoke you should request a non-smoking floor. Hotel staff spoke English well which was very helpful. Location is amazing....literally a 2 minute walk from main street (Istiklal Caddesi) which leads straight up into Taksim Square. Lots of little side streets with cute shops and restaurants surrounding hotel.

Pera Rose Hotel - excellent

Aacross from the Pera Palace Hotel; around the corner from the famous walk street, embassies, the great tower, fantastic restaurants. Everything about the Hotel was perfect. THe only thing I did not like was the tour that is advertised at the hotel. Insider Travel Turkey Istanbul. We went to the Dalmabache Palace which is fantastic. But then our guide took us to a leather store and we were offered no alternative. We were trapped in the show room. Then we were taken to the Bazaar. Here she herded the guests into her friends shop. My friend and I took off and had a good time. we got back in the agreed upon 20 minutes and the others were just coming out of her friends shop. and then we were taken back to our hotel. We would have been better off going to the Dalmabache palace on our own. Worst tour ever. Dalmabache Palace is the best place to start your visit of Istanbul. You can see how a palace looks when it's decorated. It helps imagine Topkapi palace in it's hey day.

Good location, value, pushy staff

Good location, and fairly good hotel, friendly staff , but they push their airport transfer at high prices, although I documented my decision not to do so in an email, I printed it and handed it in when they tried making me guilty of letting their driver wait at the airport, then on check out, they tried again to charge me for a service I clearly decline, I cited and showed them my email, which was on the hotel email account as well, they apologized and dismissed their request. Overall a good place to stay, just be clear on your request and document everything in writing.

the hotel has really a great spot - it is close to istiklal street, 5 min away. and close to the subway to take the tram and get to the touristic places.
the street is calm and pleasant.
the hotel is nice, clean and comfortable. it just felt as if at home...
we just had a wifi problem. it was not working the first two days of our stay, but later it was working fine.

Pera Rose- a pleasant interlude

Arrived only to find that as the hotel was full we had been upgraded to a suite (complete with a jacuzzi) ! Only drawback was the cracked sink. However, the excellent maintenance team very quickly fixed our problem with the safe (our misunderstanding of the instructions) and the channel changer batteries. Good breakfast set us up for the day. Location excellent ....the tunnel/tram/shopping district /restaurants and a handy supermarket nearby. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice little spa with good services. Would recommend to travelers.

We stayed over a weekend, the staff were all polite and helpful (go to the Turkist restaurant they recommend, it's good). The hotel cannot be better located, really close to the nightlife, but the hotel is quite quiet considering. Loads of bars and places to eat plus clubs are all to hand. The buffet breakfast was good and the rooms were clean and comfortable. There was only a small problem with the automated alarm call on the day we left but this was due to the fact that it hadn't self-adjusted for the clocks going forward. So beware. Would stay here again. Really nice.

The hotel is based in a very good premium location it's clean and cozy
negative points:
-the hotel is very small ( i would rank it as a 3 stars hotel)

We stayed at Pera Rose hotel in September for 3 nights in a triple room. But We didn't like the hotel.The room was extremely small. Staff are not friendly and not effecient, the room is old and the housekeeping service is bad. They did't take the used diapers bag for 3 days. The breakfast buffet was average.

Best place we stayed in Turkey

This was an excellent quality hotel, especially for the price that we paid! It's on a quiet street, yet close to shopping and night life on Istiklal St. It's walking distance to the Tunel Funicular. The Turkish bath was wonderful, my wife and I were able to go into the bath together and we had the place to ourselves. Staying at the Pera Rose, you will actually have access (if you ask) to their sister hotel just a block away, which has a bigger bath, a sauna and a pool. The breakfast buffet had a great variety and was delicious. Staff were helpful and professional, they even helped us carry our bags up to the room. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Very satisfactory

We stayed at the Pera Rose last week for 2 nights. The hotel is very clean and comfortable with a friendly and helpful staff. I was not bothered by the nearby construction as I left early in the morning and returned late in the evening, but I imagine it could be bothersome if you are a light sleeper etc.
The room did smell of smoke even though we requested a non smoking room.
The location is pretty good, and the area is very safe.
The pay TV was a bit of a nuisance, but the complimentary Turkish bath and dry sauna more than compensated for it.
There is WiFi in the rooms, its not very fast but its there.
We stayed in room 1202, it was very spacious, but be careful: I heard another guest complaining about the size of his room to the reception desk. Some rooms are bigger than others.
All in all, we had an enjoyable stay and considering the reosonable price, this hotel has my recommendation.

Tiny, gloomy, smelly and shabby room with a window leading onto a smelly ventilation shaft - opposite wall 2 metres away. Feels more like a cell than a room. Cannot supply an iron and ironng board, so if you expect to be smart for a business meeting the next day you might find it a chalenge. Only 3 coathangers. TV costs $15 for a 12 hour session and there's no film channel. Restaurant uninspiring. Not at all as it appears here on in its own website.

We booked a superior room with a queen-sized bed. The room we were allocated was spacious with a separate living room area. It was clean and comfortable. The hotel itself is very well located for restaurants, bars etc, being only a 5 min walk from the main shopping street. I was a bit worried about staying here after the mixed reviews on Trip Advisor, but my fears were unfounded and I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Nice hotel but noisy renovation next door

Right now (May '09) the building next door is being renovated and iit s noisy. Work seems to go on 7 days per week. Otherwise it is a nice hotel.

God beliggenhed

God beliggenhed tæt på metrostation og Istiklal gaden. Minus at det lå lige op ad en masse barer, så det larmede til kl 4 om natten med høj musik og biler der susede forbi. Hotellet er lidt ældre og TV kanaler virkede ikke, trykket på vandet var nedsat og badeværelset var meget koldt. Personalet var søde og hjælpsomme.

Hotels.com üzerinden yapmış olduğum rezervasyon da sistemin azizliğine uğrayıp yanlışlıkla kalacağım günün bir sonraki gün bir tarihi rezervasyon yapmış oldum. Otelden rica etmeme rağmen rezervasyonumu bir gün önceye çekmediği gibi bana bir kez daha oda satmaya çalıştılar bu sebeple konaklamadım yani almadığım hizmetin bedeli kendilerine ödedim aynı zamanda Hotels.com müşteri hizmetleri de sağ olsun akşam ona kadar hizmet verdiğinden ötürü kendilerine De ulaşamadım ve yardım alamadım bu sebeple hem Hotels.com dan hem de Söz konusu otelden hiç memnun olmadığım gibi şikayetçiyim de söz konusu otelden hiç memnun olmadığım gibi şikayetçiyim de.

Lobiden giriyorsunuz sizi tuvalet kokusu karşılıyor. Ve odada da devam ediyor. Koku için cam açmışlar. Buz gibi. Klima çalışmıyor ısıtma yok elektrik ısıtıcısı getirip klimayı resetleyeceğiz yalanını söyleyip gidiyorlar. Odanın camı karanlık boşluğa bakıyor. Günün doğduğunu anlamıyorsunuz. Sabaha kadar oda numarasını bilmeyen Arap turistlerin kapımızı zorlamasından,tıklatmasından uyuyamadık. Tesisat sesi cabası. Artısı ise sadece konumu.

C’est la 3eme fois qu’on revient à cet hôtel Emplacement superbe, mais du coup nuits bruyantes. accueil correct mais chambre à raffraichir: moquette mouillée et ménage léger. Pt déj à varier.

Sehr enttäuscht !!!

Aufgrund der vielen positiven Rezessionen haben wir uns für das Hotel entschieden, jedoch haben wir ein Zimmer bekommen wo die Fenster undicht waren und die Klimaanlage nicht funktionierte. Die erste Nacht mussten wir also im kalten schlafen. Nach mehrfacher Bitte um eine Lösung wurden wir immer wieder mit folgenden Wörtern vertröstet „ unser Techniker schaut sich das Problem an“ und „ leider haben wir keine weiteren Zimmer mehr frei“ schlussendlich wurde das Fenster dann repariert und wir haben nach gefühlten 20 mal nachfragen endlich eine kleine Heizung hingestellt bekommen. Das Frühstücksbüffet war auch nicht wirklich der Renner. Käse sah aus als ob es vom Vortag wäre und nicht gut gelagert wurde , dreckiges Besteck, sowie Tellern. Und nachgefüllt wurde kaum was. Zur Lautstärke morgens von der Putzkolonne wollen wir garnicht anfangen , hier wurde null Rücksicht genommen, ob noch jemand schläft. Positiv war das es wirklich direkt am Taksim Platz war. Nach dem Check-Out hat ein Mitarbeiter uns gefragt, ob er ein Taxi rufen soll und als wir zustimmten, rief er einen Bekannten an der uns komplett verarschte. Komisch das wir hin 60 TL bezahlt hatten und der vorgeschlagene Taxifahrer plötzlich 90 TL anforderte. Nie wieder würden wir in dieses Hotel ein Fuß setzten !!!
