This wasn’t a 4 star hotel.
Amenities are limited! Very small breakfast area and always condensed. Very limited breakfast options. It is off the main street and very noisy. Triple room is not good because the third bed is a futon bed not real mattress.
The only good thing about it is that the staff are friendly and helpful.

Good and nice hotel, but it will definitely need a couple of changes.

What can be improved:
•Many of the staff were smoking near the entrance, which caused a strong cigarette smell.
•The rooms are soundproof, but not the doors. Every time someone used the elevator or talked outside, we could hear it, which was a little annoying.
•The bathroom fan was making a lot of noise, so I would recommend changing it.

The room had a very nice view and was cleaned thoroughly. There was no problem with the heating system and the taps shower were working. The breakfast was also good and what is more striking is that the staff was so friendly, especially the guy at the buffet. The reception was also so quick and helpful. Thank you so much!

Great location and clean hotel

I stayed in the 3 twin bed room with a sea view with my mom and sister. The beds were comfortable and the room and bathroom was very clean. All of the hotel was very clean and well maintained. The staff was always very warm and helpful to guests. The cleaning lady Azad was very sweet. The room service was great. The breakfast was a great spread. The view from our window was beautiful in the night. In our room the space is just enough. We had 5 suitcases which made it a little tight but they have a cupboard so we used that to keep all our stuff. They also have a safe locker. There is a spa which offers hamam too but I didn’t have time to try it. The location of this hotel is just amazing. It’s situated right next to the bus stop and a few meters away from the metro m2 line. The galata tower is only a short walk away. And it’s only a short walk from the nostalgic tram that goes through istiklal street as well. They also gave us an extended checkout time. Overall I had a great experience here and would love to come back.

The hotel is in a fairly quiet neighbourhood and a great location, close to landmarks and public transportation. The staff were friendly, and the breakfast exceeded my expectations with a good variety and combinations.

However, the room insulation was poor. I could clearly hear guests next door. Smoking was allowed in the lobby, and the smoke spread to the elevators, dining area, and even my room at times. I also noticed handprints on doors and handles, as well as shoe marks on the floor.

Great experience

Firstly hotel location is perfect, it s very close to public transports( metro, funicular, taxi, bus). Also it s just for a minute Istiklal Street by walk. Hotel staff were so kind and helpful people, they responded all my request nicely on time. There is a breakfast and fairly enough for starting the day. Rooms were big enough for me and toilets were clean and in good condition.

Very pleasant stay at Dora Pera. Walking distance to Istiklal avenue, metro near by, small food shop near by and plenty of restaurants/ bars within walking distance. Beautiful view of the Golden horn from our room.
All staff very friendly and helpful at all times. Great selection of food at breakfast. Always fresh and clean. Room was perfect and clean with everything you could ask for. Free water and coffee/ teas every day.
Definitely recommend and would return to this hotel.

One of the staff, Burak, was very helpful especially to store some food in their fridges during our stay. Would definitely stay there again.

Very average hotel. It doesn’t worth the price. I reserved this hotel for my elderly parents and paid for a sea view room. They gave us an average room on the fifth floor with no specific view. After two days I talked to the manager and insisted on room upgrade. It took me one hour to convince him to upgrade our room to a deluxe room. Deluxe room was better. More spacious with a terrace and view. This is the only reason I’m giving them 2 stars.

1- Rooms are very basic. No tissue box, no iron, no extra toilet rolls, safety box not bolted to the drawer (safety issue), basic design. Cards to open room’s door deactivated every other day.

2- Wifi was not working most of the time.

3- breakfast quality is ok but breakfast area is small and congested.

4- Cleaning ladies were really nice, but once I asked reception how to get to princess island, they gave us a wrong address. It took us one hour to get to the address they gave us and when we got there they told us this is not the right location. We had to come all the way back! You want to trust your hotel reception to get info from! How on earth they don’t know how to get to the one of the biggest tourist attractions in Istanbul?!

5- After moving to deluxe room they gave me a sofa bed which was extremely uncomfortable.

6- I smelled sewage some days in hallways.

This place is not worth the price:
1- They assigned my room to someone else and attempted to make me stay in a lower-level room, claiming I didn't check in at the correct time. However, I had informed them about my late arrival several days prior.
2- I found hair on the bed after checking in.
3- I requested additional towels, but despite promising to bring them twice, they never did. I find this disrespectful.
4- There's construction in the adjacent building which creates significant noise starting at 8am.
5- The air conditioning doesn't work in cool mode.

This is my second time at Dora Pera, its my favorite hotel, very clean, big rooms and comfortable. Very near to the metro station only 5 mins walking, bus station is just in front of the hotel 1 min walking, very near to istiklal street and galata tower, i would recommend for everyone, breakfast very good quality and big variety. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it for solo and families travelers.

I was expecting just a functional business stay at Dora Pera, but the hotel exceeded my expectations. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean. There were some late party-ers in the room next door, but the noise is what you would expect in this part of Istanbul. Overall, highly recommend!

Overbooked and told look for hotel

We have booked a 2 night stay for my 73 year old father, who was checking in at 10 pm. upon check in they told us , first , that the AC is not working in our room and we have to look for a new hotel room. We said we would still take it ,but they lied that there is one available and finally acknowledged they overbooked and we must look for the hotel ourselves , at 10 pm!!!l The receptionists are not helpful, don’t care about anything but smoking and chatting, they first promised to pay for hotel next door but upon checking in there they said that the price is too high for them. Very very disappointing experience which this hotel !

They told me that they would upgrade and provide 2 single rooms and split me and my wife, we had no choice but take this option and so my wife and i stayed in separate rooms for 6 nights. Zalety:
1. Dobra lokalizacja, świetnie skomunikowany z transportem publicznym,
2. Pokój byl czysty, sprzątany codziennie, codzienna wymiana ręczników, zawsze nowa woda w pokoju,
3. Hotel jest dosyć nowy i jest w dobrym stanie,
4. Przyjemny i pomocny personel,
5. Śniadania też ok, niczego nie brakowalo, donoszono to, co się skończyło.

Wady:
1. Brak dźwiękoszczelności - słychać dosłownie wszystko, co dzieje sie za drzwiami pokoju,
2. Hotel jest przy ruchliwej ulicy - słychać hałas również przy zamkniętych oknach (pokój z widokiem ma morze),
3. Okropnie niewygodne łóżko. Materac był bardzo twardy, dodatkowo czułem sprężyny,
4. Coś nie tak było z wodą - ciśnienie bywało niskie, dodatkowo woda rzadko była gorąca, a momentami niemal chlodna.

El hotel muy bien localizado muy cerca de Galata Tower son 5-6 minutos caminando.

Ademas, saliendo del hotel,
a 15 metros está la estación Sishane 2 del bus, enfrente esta Sishane1; ademas a menos de 200 metros la estacion Sishane de la linea M2 (Metro).

La atencion en el hotel excelente; el desayuno incluido bastante bueno, tipo europeo y la atencion en front desk de lujo, en particular muchas gracias a YAREN que nos dio muchas guias sobre como movernos en Bus, Metro y Train.

Konumu oldukça güzel. 4 gece konaklama imkanımız oldu. Odalar her gün temizleniyor. Açık büfe kahvaltı yeterli düzeyde. Personel oldukça güzler yüzlü ve yardımsever . İlk gece gittiğimizde ses problemi vardı. Oda değişikliği talep ettik ancak boş oda yok denilerek red cevabı aldık. Sabah resepsiyon görevlisi değişmiş aynı durumu ona ilettik ve bizim odamızı değiştirerek yardımcı oldu. İlk geceki asık suratlı kadın personel hem müşteriye hemde çalışma arkadaşlarına sert davranıyor. Onun haricinde her şey çok güzeldi .

Wir haben das Hotel spontan für 2 Nächte gebucht. Auf die Frage, ob wir eher einchecken dürfen, ist uns das Hotelpersonal entgegen gekommen, was wir sehr schätzen!

Es gab eine große Auswahl am Frühstücksbüffet, was sehr lecker war.

Die Zimmer waren groß und sehr sauber!
