Disappointing start.. we checked in very late at night, after a long day of travel and just wanted to relax in our room so we ordered food. Upon collecting the food at reception from a food delivery company, we were told it was ‘illegal’ to order food to the hotel and had to eat from the restaurant? It was 10pm and the restaurant was closed at this point. Unsure why this was an issue?

Had read previous reviews about the rooms being small so made sure to book the ‘executive’ room (second option) just to be sure and thankful I did. The room wasn’t executive by any means and wasn’t huge, was as big as an average chain hotel room. When we seen the average room, it was very small so would recommend paying extra for some more space.

Hotel was in a great location, walking distance to everything and directly opposite metro which made transport easy.

Room and bathroom were nice and clean. Breakfast was okay, set you up for the day but wouldn’t have paid for it if it wasn’t included.

For all the time we stayed in the hotel, it done the job and location was handy. Glad we got a good price for this or I would have been disappointed but can’t complain too much for what we paid.

The room was dirty. Cleaning is so bad. Hair on bed as if bedsheets weren’t changed. Urine on toilet seat. We arrived after a 7 hour flight and we were very tired just to enter a room that was disgusting. When the cleaning lady came to clean the toilet she tried to convince me that it was already clean and then she cleaned it with a kitchen towel without detergent, thats like smearing urine from one place to another. I was shocked. Will never go there again.

The location was the best, love the terrace and the view of the gala tower and the city. The staff was super attentive and nice. Breakfast was delicious and great variety. However, no noise insulation in the room thus you could hear the next room and when they used the bathroom as well. The room chosen was ok but smaller than expected.

Breakfast was very good, the View from the rooftop is amazing, we could see Galata tower as well as Sofia, Blue and Suleiman mosques. The location is fantastic, the only thing is that room is too small, but for the price, location and service it totally worth it. I definitely come back to stay here

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel — everything was perfect! The service was excellent, the room was spotless and very comfortable, and the location couldn’t be better. It’s right in the center, surrounded by great restaurants and cafes, and just a short walk from the Galata Tower — such an amazing area to explore!

The front desk staff were fantastic — super friendly and helpful. They even helped me arrange my shuttle to the airport and were always very attentive.

I totally recommend this hotel 100%! I’d definitely stay here again on my next trip to Istanbul.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Galata Times Hotel. We had a stunning view from our room. The restaurant also has immaculate views! İt was in a convenient location with public transport near by. Lots of cafes and places to dine out close by too. A big shout out to Shahin at the reception desk as he was so friendly and helpful. He went above and beyond for us! Thanks for a wonderful stay. Will be back if we visit Istanbul in the future.

I stayed at the Galata Times Hotel during my trip to Istanbul and had a truly great experience. From the moment I checked in, Rahim at the front desk was super welcoming and kind. He really went out of his way to help me, arranging my tours and transportation so I didn’t have to worry about anything.

The location couldn’t be better, Galata Tower is just a couple of minutes away on foot, and Istiklal Street is also close by, which made it easy to explore the city.

The hotel itself was very clean and comfortable, with a nice vibe. All the staff I met were friendly and helpful.

Overall, this was one of the best hotel stays I’ve had. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Istanbul. Huge thanks to Rahim for making my stay extra enjoyable.

When we checked in, the room reserved had two major concerns: first, the AC was turning off every two hours which caused so much disturbance to our sleep as it was very hot weather in Istanbul. Second, the room carpet was very dirty and stained. We raised our concern to the receptionist a few times. At first, they informed us there was no other room available. After three days, we were granted another room with better flooring (less stain and much clean) but the AC issue was similar in both rooms. The receptionists and the lady at the restaurant (breakfast was included) were very kind and supportive. The location is great as it is walking distance from Galata Tower and Teksim - Istiklal area. I am sure with some attention to details like changing the room flooring and fixing the AC issue, this hotel can earn a 5 star rating.

Great small boutique hotel located in Galatar historic district just a few steps from Sishane metro stop. Excellent metro access from the IST airport as well as to Grand Bazar, Sultanahmet historical district via tram. Also enjoyed the Istanbul sunset views, excellent breakfast from the roof top bar. You can find all you want to do in Galatar district including shopping, restaurants/outdoor bars, art gallery. Wonderful staff and charming hotel cat too!

We had an amazing time in Istanbul and the hotel was wonderful. From the moment we checked in, Rahim and the team took excellent care of us, making sure that our questions were answered and that our stay was nothing less than perfect. In addition, the breakfast and the view of the Galata Tower each morning was breathtaking. Our breakfast host, Simin, always greeted us with a smile and she truly brightened our mornings. I stayed one night at the hotel. Upon arrival, my room was upgraded completely free of charge, and the communication before my arrival was very positive. The team was very welcoming, especially a young man at the reception who was very helpful during check-out.
The breakfast was great — there was a good selection, and everything was very tasty. The location is also excellent, with everything within walking distance.

Great location - right by metro, so getting to and from the airport is a breeze, and it's easy to get to any touristy locations. The room was quiet. Amazing considering it so loud outside. The staff were amazing at the hotel. It is a smaller boutique hotel and rooms are on the smaller side but the location and staff make up for it. Breakfast could be improved. Options were a bit limited and very limited meat options (I only saw deli meat). The pancakes were very cold and hard. Need a variety and change of menu daily.

Great Location!

The Galata Times Hotel was a bit of a surprise, both good and bad. The location is wonderful as it is close to the Galata Towers, the famous Istiklal Street and a plethora of hotels and shops. We’ve eaten at the lovely rooftop restaurant at this hotel before, but we’ve never stayed at this hotel.

Unfortunately, the room was much smaller than I had expected. There was a terrible odor of sewage in the hallway and in the room. And there were hairs on my boyfriend‘s pillow. The mattress was a little harder than I preferred. The shower was amazing and the bathroom was spacious.

One of the best things about this hotel is the staff. They were kind, friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is the other best thing about this hotel. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Kudos to Resit, Barrett, Hasan and Yusel. Thank you for taking great care of us.

Great hotel. Exceeded my expectation. Renovated and all conveniences. Walking to Istiklal and Galata Tower. Metro is right outside door. Buses are aroubd the corner. Breakfast was delicious. And view from Breakfast place was breathtaking. Only downside is the staff during breakfast doesnt really offer any help or ask. They just stand and watch. Also they cover the bread out of reach. Not sure why. Otherwise best hotel in the area. I would stay again.

Unfortunately, I will not come back to this place and there are Two reasons… noise from out of the window cars beeping and people yelling from 2-6am and second, which is main one the smell in the room coming out from the bathroom and looks like there is a big sewage problem…. It’s toxic and not pleasant to smell.

Stayed here in 2022 and came back because it was located in a great area (a walk away from Galata Tower and Istiklal Caddesi). The staff are lovely and very accommodating and overall a great place to base yourself if you want to explore Istanbul! the galata tower view from the rooms is a plus!

The hotel is situated in a very good location with good transport. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant has an amazing view with nice small selection for breakfast. I highly recommend Galata Times Hotel. From the moment I booked my room, I received exceptional service. Hotel staff contacted me if I needed airport transfer, which they conveniently arranged. All the staff are helpful and friendly. Special mention to Simin, Rashit, and Osman who went out of their way to make us welcome, comfortable, and always attended to our needs. Simin arranged for our Turkish bath reservation while I was in US through whatsapp. Rashit guided us in navigating the tram system and even gave us a tram card to top off.,Osman helped us with our luggages and escorted us out to our waiting van at 3am. Not to mention the rooms are clean, bed comfortable, toiletries always fully stocked, and breakfast at the rooftop cafe superb with incredible views. Istanbul is a beautiful city and everyone should visit it and stay at Galata Times. Thank you for an enjoyable stay!

Why are there condoms in the fridge?

It is a typical Istanbul small room hotel, if you have been to Istanbul before it is pretty much as expected. Room was clean and no problems, breakfast was standard Turkish breakfast. 2 issues I had (minor) were breakfast was from 8AM, this is too late for me as I had to be somewhere for 08:30 start for work so I could not have breakfast on 2 days. Also why were there 2 condoms in the fridge? Really tacky to see that and no necessary at all.

The staff was what set this hotel apart. They had great tips on what to explore in the city, and even gave us a city commuter pass to use for the street car that had pre-loaded money on it. On our last day, we had to leave for the airport the free hotel breakfast opened, and the front desk went above and beyond to get us breakfast early and coffee to go.
Only downside is that the rooms are fairly small, but the hotel made up for it in service.

Staff are very helpful and lovely people. If we needed advice on where to go they were always available. The property was clean and very comfortable. Only downside was my room was facing the main road where people sit to watch sunset and musicians play, it was pretty noisy and went on till 2am . Other then that it was a great experience and would stay there again.

Really great hotel. Modern, clean and amazing location. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Rooms are not big, but fit us and our bags without problem.
Walking distance to many restaurants, bars and cafes, and a the metro is right outside the door. Short walk to the Galata and hundreds of stores. A great find.
