Not as advertised. Stained lounge cusions. Toilet flush stuck. Washer/dryer did not work. Lacking kitchen cleaning amenities, tea towels etc. Staff had a nice attitude but the hotel was very lacking in tourist information and information about facilities.
I would look for a better a standard for the claimed star rating on my next visit.
It was OK but disappointing.

Solid location. Turning on AC was not intuitive, but one I learned how, comfort improved significantly. Generally helpful staff. Bathroom has a bit of a sewage/pipe drainage smell, but that would go away one AC/air circulation was turned on. I would stay again at this hotel due to the location and now knowing what things to do in the hotel to ensure better comfort.

Good renovation work. The shower needs the hand held part and the outside lock of the fridge takes away from the unit. Change the gasket or expose the fridge , but take the little hatch out.

Overall everything was good, but there were two of us and they gave us just one robe and one blanket. We had to ask for additional blanket. There was no spoon and forks provided in the room. They did not provide new slippers within 5 days of our stay. The location is great (metro station, Galata tower, restaurants are close to the location), the staff is helpful and kind.

The internet kept turning off and I had to inform the staff so they send someone to fix it
They have renovations going on in the hotel
The TV was not connected to the internet the whole period I spent there so I basically couldn’t use it

This hotel is my favourite place to stay when in Istanbul. I’ve stayed here many times. On longer stays I book the junior or delux suites and have experienced no issues at all. However, I’ve noticed that when I stay in the standard rooms for a shorter stay the water never gets hot. On this stay we had to have cold showers, soap dispensers were empty, the safe wasn’t operable and I got an electric shock from the plug socket.

The hotel came up as 5-star in my search, but it is not a 5-star by design. In my view this is a 3-star hotel in essence upgraded to be rated as 5-star. It doesn't have an exclusive restaurant. The BIGSHEF restaurant you get your breakfast is a public one in ground floor that has a door thru to hotel. The breakfast is not all you can eat style Kahvalti style popular in Turkiye and generally in all hotels. You pick an option out of a few and get a small breakfast and a cup of hot drink. If you want more you have to order. I've never seen anything like this before. Disappointed!
Room is just slightly bigger than the bed, no much space to move around. Aircon made a lot of noise and they sent a technician but was not fixed properly. Kettle was not working (switch broken) and power lead was too short to reach power point! They replaced with another. Wall Power points were loose. both in room and bathroom.
Furniture were small (given room was small) and not plenty of space for laptop use.
Pool was small and in a closed covered room with no windows and during 3 days of stay I didn't see anyone using it so scary to be there on your own. Gym was not bad but I didn't use it. Didn't use Turkish Hamam, it is exclusive to one person and you need to book in advance. Massage room was good with two tables and looked nice, but didn't use it.

I think if you have a 3-star hotel expectation you wouldn't be disappointed but the price is too high for it.

Front desk people are not professional whatsoever. Guy checked us in first time and tried to sell us a different floor room, and claimed the one we were assigned to only has 2 twin beds.
It had queen after all
2nd time we came back in. He tried to claim we have different namd on file from passport, which was the always the case, he just wanted a tip to let us through.
Vale people are nice but they always want money. Every interraction they make it so you know they want Money. Even if you're not driving the car away. A different vale person will ask for money even though you paid the first guy twice.

The location is superb! Very close to the Sishane Metro station and a few minutes from one end of the famous Istiklal Street which runs all the way to Taksim.

I booked a Superior Room and it was VERY spacious.

Hotel staff were very nice and helpful as well. Overall, it was a good stay.

One night there was a problem with the generator and gases went up in the air, it was not possible to breathe and we evacuated the room. Since the hotel was full we slept in the hotel lobby. There was no one to talk to !!! Assured that the manager will contact us and so far have not contacted. We paid the full consideration on receiving the room and I think we should have received a refund

This place is my second home, the proximity to Taksim and Galata is very convenient, yet it is located in a peaceful and quite neighborhood.

The staff are very welcoming, we were greeted by Sinan at the reception who made sure we got everything we asked for. I highly recommend this property.

We booked the junior suit with Galata Tower view and it was splendid. Airy apartment with small Juliet balcony, very sunny, spacious bedroom, good size dining and living area, small kitchenette. This is the best location you can get, old town on a hill and within less then 5 min walk to the main shopping street yet in a quiet location with spectacular view. The reception is very helpful Murat, Erbil ( ordering take away food for us) polite and welcoming. As Covid restriction have changed in Turkey after our arrival (mid Dec) we had to self-isolate for 10 days ( as we traveled from the UK) but as we booked 3 weeks here this wasn’t an issue for us as we were recovering from cosmetic treatment and the hotel was very supportive, delivering us all essential to the door on daily basis. The Internet connection was good ( I used it for work),in front of the hotel there is a metro station ( we didn’t use metro) as walking distance everywhere and a picturesque square where many visitors come and seat on a stairs & enjoy the view. We would be very happy to come back.

Hotel's location was good, however the price was overrated for what they offer. Cleanliness was below average, bathroom has stains, lack of amenities only 1 small shower gel and shampoo for 2 people.

Mattress and pillows were not comfortable at all.

The desk legs were broken so beware.

The breakfast was limited and on the last day we were offered frozen fruits and NOT fresh, very disappointing.

1st day breakfast was late by 30 minute for a fruit salad.

Not to mention that we were refused accees to the rooftop restaurant without a booking, while the receptionist confirmed reservations are not required.

Overall, if it is not the location, i wouldn't rate it good.

The location of the property is excellent but there are issues with noise, and the size of their ‘standard rooms’. I have never stayed in such a small hotel room before. May be suitable for solo travellers. Not suitable with couples. (If you still have to book one of their standard rooms, opt for the ones in the upper floors in order to avoid noise as much as possible.)

I definitely recommend staying in Tunel Residence during your trip to Istanbul. The service is great. The rooms are neat and clean, which are cleaned daily upon request. The breakfast is delcious with varieties. Last but not least, the hotel manager, Mr. Sinan, and all the stuff was so friendly and was really helpful.

Room (a suite) is old and in need of repair. Toilet does not stop running, 3 out of 3 stand alone lamps/lights each blew the first time they were turned on. My \"Deluxe Suite\" was the best room in the hotel, it came with a dishwasher, which is great, but I do not expect to empty this dishwasher of a complete 4 piece dining set before i could use anything.

Now for the restaurant. I went there the first night, it was busy so got sat at the bar, which is fine, it was just me dining. fine until the barman starts using the drinks blender right in front me causing a huge racket. once he finished bursting ear drums he them proceeded to do some dish washing directly in front of me leaving me soaking wet. I had already been waiting 15 minutes to order a drink let alone my meal so I left and went upsaitrs to my room to dry off.

2nd night I went to the same place, sat outside this time but it was late and the kitchen would stop serving after half an hour. Waiter came over, I asked him to return in 2 minutes as I had meet a courier on the corner to receive documents, he said take 5 minutes. I said no, and repeated myself. He left, and stayed away. After 10 minutes I handed my menu in and asked for the manager. I was informed that the manager had gone him. I then went to the front desk and explained things and during this the restaurant staff took it upon themselves to stand there laughing at me. I ended having Burger King that night

Location is great, staffs are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is decent. Pool and Turkish Hamam is a nice addition to your stay. The only things is that dirty dishes were sitting in the corridor for 2 days twice and we have to call the reception to ask to take them. You have to try the roof to restaurant, amazing view.
Still, I will recommend this hotel for your stay in Istanbul.

The people at the desk are really wonderful and helpful in all respects. We had two issues. The first was the offered transportation from the airport, which was quite disorganized when we arrived. A taxi would have been faster and much cheaper. The second was the service at the adjoining cafe, which was slow and a little scattered. But these issues are more than offset by the great staff and the excellent location of the property.

Rude front desk lady. The non-smoking floor is not in forced.

Doesn’t look like the pictures. The front desk lady is rude. She said that it was my issue. She put a smoker on the nonsmoking floor next to my room. The type of room with a connecting door that’s locked unless the two rooms are booked together. And a chain-smoker is puffing away all hours. You couldn’t pay me to stay in a hotel like this. Sorry Tunel Res. I gave you an option to make it right. Move me move smoker.

Convenient location, connected to entire town by easy access to two major metro lines and tram station (right outside hotel there is a metro station and tram station). 10 minutes metro to Sultanahmet for all major museums, blue mosque, spice bazaar and grand bazaar. 2 minutes walking to İstiklal Street for all food and nightlife. 2 minutes walk to Galata Tower as that is right around the corner. Great restaurant “ big chef” within hotel itself and they provide in room service. Hotel staff very friendly, helpful and courteous. Early check in was allowed. We had a junior suite which was big enough for our 4 night stay, separate bedroom, big bathroom, living room with couch chairs and dining table, kitchen with microwave, dishwasher, full fridge and washing machine/dryer too. I would definitely stay here again if I am in the town.

+ Once we checked in our room & sit on the bed, the bed was swinging & making noise, we asked to change the room , they said it will be smaller, we said no problem we took another room the bed was ok but the bathroom door handles were falling off when you open the door.
+ the breakfast is not an open buffet, it's a la cart, portions are very small & only 1 plate per person, for example if you choose eggs then no desserts, I can't imagine a 4 stars hotel with this breakfast system !
+Overall this cannot be a 4 stars hotel by any means, Rooms are very small & too tight to walk inside the room, TV screens are too small, the only good point is the location.

A very good hotel. We only didnt like the personal at the sauna center. She was impolite and not friendly at all. So the hotel should train them good or get some professional people. The guy at the reception was super nice! Overall a good experience, will definitely come again!

Stayed here for 3 nights in a Junior Suite and they made us feel at home and staff were super friendly. Room was big and cosy and highly recommend and would stay again if visiting Istanbul. Hotel is walking distance to Taksim (shopping mall strip), all sorts off side streets with shops and food, Tram/Train stations and Galata Tower.
The restaurant attached is great with plenty of food options.

Some down points:
The gym/pool section is open 10am - 9pm which (for me personally) opens too late because it wastes the day when you are on holidays (or work) and want an early work out to start the day. But I learnt it seems to be the norm in Europe as I struggled finding a gym open early through Greece and Turkey.

The breakfast is included but not the best limited options. They do have other breakfast options but you’ll have to pay.

Overall, great place, great staff and would recommend.

So we went there for family's vacation, place is ok,it's an older place, you can tell it's been on low maintenance as there is alot of things news to be fixed, we had 6 rooms total and non of them has no issues, each on has something need to be fixed, location is alright close to alot of things how ever it has some constructions so it makes taxis amd Uber really hard to get there because they have to make loop around, house keeping has no business to be house keeping, they do aweful job on making up the rooms, they don't leave water or changing towels unless you ask for it, they don't replace shampoos, shower gel... etc unless you ask ever if it's finished, the reason behing my title because they have completely opposite manners when it comes to staff, take Yunus or Nurcan for an example they are really nice people, they will go above and beyond to help out, such a nice manner too, take Mahoud for an example, he not the best guy to deal with, he has bad attitude, and my group didn't hve a good time dealing with him, he didnt even smile at you on the way in or out. Finally Breakfast was advertised as free breakfast and has pix for buffet, how ever when we got there they said we get to choose one item off the menu when it was showing buffet in the pix so how could we tell if this a buffet or one item off the menu???
So bottom line if you want to have perfect vacation and don't mind to spend extra money then stay away from this place.

Tunel Residence - Best location to stay.

1) Location: 5/5 - Galata Tower, Istiklal Street, Pera Area and all types of transport nearby( Metro, Tram, Bus, Taxi ) under 5 minutes walk.
2) Room: 4.5/ 5 - Stayed in Deluxe Suit. It was as expected and described in the pictures. Specious and comfortable.
3) Reception/ Lobby Area: 3/5 Like most hotels in the area, lobby was quite small but comfortable.
4) Breakfast: 3.5/5 Hotel does not manage their own kitchen, however a chain of restaurant serving superb food and ambiance takes care of breakfast and other meal options. Limited option to choose from in the A La Carte menu if you are staying on BB basis. Otherwise plenty of items to choose from the main menu upon payment.
Staff: 4/5 Courteous and professional staff. However, one staff \"Yonus\" stood out with exceptional customer service and was very helpful.

Overall 4/5: Due the excellent location of the hotel and my experience. I would definitely recommend to all travellers to travellers, specially those traveling with kids and family.

I find that the staff in tunel residence to exude hospitality and friendliness that made me feel welcomed. The hotel's location was very good simply because many things were in reach outside the hotel. All in all, it was a good experience.

3 star property, good for budget stays.

Our stay started off with a rough start as the Check-In supervisor greeted me with a pompous attitude. Instead of saying something like \"Welcome, how can I help you?\" she just threw her arms up and said, \"Well? What do you want?\". \"I'm checking in,\" I said. She responded rudely, \"Well then why didn't you say that?\". I told her that we had just finished a long flight and were tired and to please be polite. She wasn't. She neglected to explain the wireless details and then lied and said she had. Very rude woman.

I had an executive suite, which was nice enough, except for a plug or two which didn't seem to work. It had a fairy decent view of the sea from the small balcony. There was a second balcony, but the door to that one was clearly broken.

The elevators were incredibly cramped. If you're not using a wheelchair then it's not a problem, but we did have someone in our group using one and it didn't fit in the elevator.

There is a restaurant at the ground floor that is tied into the property breakfast. The breakfast options that come from the hotel are incredibly limited and the portions are very small. In addition, the music coming from the restaurant at night is enough to keep you up as it's quite loud.

I communicated with the hotel about swapping rooms and received a reply about the hotel's shuttle service from the airport, but I was already staying in one of their rooms. I responded about this and got no answer. I also got no reply from the Sales supervisor.

it was terrible experience , the room was very dirty especially the bed sheet and rug on the floor , the heating system was not working none of the chillers , the mattress was so uncomfortable and bed was very noisy , in term of services the swimming pool was not in service and gym and sauna and steam room was not operating , there was a problem with WIFI and masseuse did not come to work that day.
breakfast was so inadequate only a bagel and a glass of tea....( considering the price i was expecting self service breakfast rather than a small portion).
there was no shampoo in the bathroom has to ask for it and there was a road works in front of the hotel which was very noisy.
on first day when i got back the room was not cleaned and i was asked if i need cleaning , i had to wait outside for 20 min till they do the housekeeping.
as for TV the remote control was not working , i am so disappointed with the service.
