This is in China Town and and lots of fresh produce available. I did not have time to do a lot of shopping. I felt safe in the area and it was a unique experience. Not bad at all - especially if you like Chinese Food.

The hotel is located in Chinatown, so it can be a bit noisy at night. If you’re sensitive to noise, I recommend bringing earplugs for a better night’s sleep.

This is an older hotel from the 60s with much of the original furnishings. So, it’s not 4-star in that sense. But, it’s clean, well-maintained, and the staff is wonderful. Centrally located between Chinatown and the Italian section. An excellent value, especially as they include parking.

Location is perfect - Balcony is the highlight! Several to-go food places all around. North Beach and Chinatown are at your doorstep. We had delicious wonton soup for breakfast every morning on our balcony! Fridge, in-room coffee and remodeled interior - appreciated. Everything worked. Bed could use a mattress topper but the extra pillows were nice. Has free parking which is rare and nice if you have a car. We didn't but great option if you do! Pleasant and accommodating staff - would definitely stay again.

Definitely a 3 star place. It’s fine for what it is. It’s cheap, convenient parking, you can walk to anywhere, and I felt safe. My favorite part is the free parking and valet parking. Very convenient. The place itself is a little dirt and outdated but I’m a poor college kid so worked great for me. Definitely recommend it if you don’t care about where you stay

The balcony had a beautiful street view, and being on the 5th floor made it even better and more enjoyable, especially in the evening.
The hotel location is a big plus. It is very close to Grant Avenue — on one side, you have easy access to European-style cafes and restaurants, and on the other side, you are right next to Chinatown with local shops and great food.

The balcony had a beautiful street view, and being on the 5th floor made it even better and more enjoyable, especially in the evening.
The hotel location is a big plus. It is very close to Grant Avenue — on one side, you have easy access to European-style cafes and restaurants, and on the other side, you are right next to Chinatown with local shops and great food.

This property wasn’t a very convenient location and walkable to all the tourist areas. Although the property is a little bit dated, it was very clean and in a very safe area in the heart of Chinatown with many dining options in the area. The beds were a little bit uncomfortable, but the shower was great with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. I would definitely stay here again next time I’m in San Francisco the free parking was a definite bonus to this property.

There were shouts outside the window all night, loud conversations, and loud banging noises. The internet connection was poor, practically nonexistent. There was also a problem with parking. I acknowledge that this place isn't a 5 star hotel, but it is close to Chinatown with many eating and drinking establishments. I got the balcony room and it was an amazing view where you can catch a sunset over the hills of SF. Be advised that balconies are shared so if your neighbor decides to use the balcony while you're out there, it is what it is. I'll definitely return as this is my go to hotel that doesn't break my wallet if I stay a few days. Highly recommend if you're not snooty about dated furniture and less than 5 star experience.

Friendly staff, easy parking on premises. Just be aware that the bottom parking level is public and during times when it's busy, it may take a while to get in and out. Hotel is pretty clean, but stuff is on the older side and worn. The biggest plus for staying here is the convenience of being right between Chinatown and North Beach. Lots of dining options nearby. Also, it's an easy walk to Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39. Near a lot of public transportation so getting to more distant destinations is easy.
