Close to rail station which was convenient as we travel with the train every day.
You can still hear some noise from the railways with the windows closed, but that was ok.
The room did not have a fridge or a coffee maker.

Got a last minute deal for a room here for two adults and a toddler and was pleasantly surprise. They were efficient at providing my request for a cot with mattress and bedding which was perfect for what we needed. The bathroom was spacious and everything clean. Only downside was the curtains were too small for the windows - there were shutters outside but we couldn’t shut them. The patio door was also broken but I informed them of this upon check out. Other than that it was a comfortable stay, especially for a last minute decision to stay in Olten on our last night in Switzerland.

A very basic hotel offering just the essentials reflecting the relatively low cost for Switzerland. Breakfast was convenient and reasonable. Hotel lobby is not very welcoming and rooms are somewhat aged but clean. Beds were comfortable.

Great location if you're travelling by train located next the the main station at Olten,booked a family room which had everything coffee maker,dish washer,microwave,dinning table,3 seater sofa,room cleaned daily and a fantastic view of the railway station if you like trains !
Breakfast was outstanding so much choice and really nice staff 10/10 will book here everytime when coming to Switzerland

Honestly got a 3 star property I wasn’t expecting much but it totally exceeded my expectations. The room wasn’t fancy but it was larger than I expected with a super comfy bed and great linens! The locations was perfect - like steps from the train. Plus the staff and breakfast served was so enjoyable.loved this place and highly recommend

Olten the ideal jumping off point for Switzerland

Fabulous refurbed room with balcony overlooking ghe splendid and busy rsilway station. Not disturbed by noise and the outlook was fascinating. Really lively hotel with excellent attentive staff.

Free parking, good breakfast. The layout is a little odd, as the hotel is split so by taking the stairs you cannot access your room. The elevator broke while we were there, but the repairs were being done promptly. Very friendly staff. Located next to the train station, but not noisy. Air conditioner worked great.

Good: Right next to station. Very good for train .helpful front desk .
Consider : Rooms on front very noisy with trains 24/7 you may need ear plugs . Heating was just a n air con blower not a radiator so got cold over night and no spare blanket, etc in room and one one tiny pillow .

I have stayed at the Hotel Amaris in Olten, Switzerland several times. It is my \"go to\" place when I travel to Switzerland. It is merely steps away from the main train station and close to numerous shops and restaurants. From the reception staff, to the kitchen personnel- everyone is welcoming and friendly. For me, when I see the Amaris after a long day of travel... it is like seeing an \"old friend\". It will always be my home away from home in Olten. This was my first stay at The Hotel Amaris. The hotel is perfectly located for the railway station - from which you can travel to just about ANY PART OF SWITZERLAND IN 3 HOURS. The staff at the Amaris were very friendly, very polite, very helpful and very efficient. The hotel was clean and my single room was quite adequate. Breakfasts were good, with the usual selection of cereals, cheeses and cold meats, along with some hot items (bacon, sausages and eggs). This hotel represented good value for money and I will definately stay here again. Just a word of warning - if you like to watch trains, request a room at the front but if you want to sleep at night, request a quieter room.

Comfortable and friendly hotel in Olten

Loved this hotel. The staff really are great, all of them, which I can rarely say about hotels. By the station, 2 mins walk, trains do run all night but the windows kept most of the noise out such that I didn't have trouble sleeping. Good sized and bright room with decent bed. Pillows rather flat, but normal for Switz, always bring my own. Cover on bed could have been bigger. Internet easy to use, plenty of TV channels. Bathroom clean and bright, big shower with doors to keep water in. Housekeeping observed my 'Do not disturb' sign, which I really appreciate, and were available if I needed another towel etc.

Breakfast was a lovely typical Swiss style buffet which was kept stocked up until end of service. Was welcomed each morning by the staff and did not feel rushed to finish when closing time came.

This is the first time I have stayed in Olten but am glad I chose this hotel. All in all I had a very pleasant stay. The staff here really add a lot to the welcoming feel of the hotel and should I stay in this area again I shall definitely be back to Hotel Amaris.

I had a restless night. The room was right next to the railway station. I also had some issues with the shower head dripping. The staff tried everything to assist but it could not be fixed. There was no other room available unfortunately and I had to put up with dripping noise and train noises all night.

The hotel is in a good location, less than a few minutes walk from the train station. The hotel staff are really friendly. We stayed for a couple of days, and the staff at breakfast remembered our usual order; really great service. At check-in, the staff on duty was very helpful and gave us an upgrade to our room. The hotel also allowed us early check-in, which we definitely appreciated. The rooms are clean and comfy.

Hotel is conviently located near train station. Staff super friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and well maintained with a great breakfast and free WiFi included in the cost. Some small frustrations...I was on the \"city view\" side which meant I heard the train running from 5 AM until midnight - this made sleeping a challenge. Problems with my TV and phone that no one seemed able to fix yet no offer to change rooms.

This hotel is very clean and the staff go beyond to help meet all needs of the customer! We asked for an early check in as our flight from Toronto arrived at 8am. No problem, we were able to check in at 1030am. The breakfast was great but it's the same every day. The lovely young girl working the front desk knew I was leaving early to return home and had a sandwich, juice, Apple and candy bar made for me to take for the journey! Overall a great experience, if I return to Switzerland I will definitely stay at Hotel Amaris!

Nice hotel in a convenient position

Stayed in this hotel while attending a conference in Olten. The facilities are good, and it is well located for both the station and the old town. Very nice breakfast buffet. The staff are absolutely excellent - friendly and helpful. It was impeccably clean. I would just keep in mind that the rooms are quite variable in size, not all have air-conditioning and some overlook the railway tracks so it can make quite a difference to your comfort level depending which you choose.

Arrivato in albergo a mezzanotte, la stanza era gelida, eprchè l'unico termosifone era regolato al minimo. In bagno non c'è riscaldamento. Arredamento scadente. A colazione il personale parla solo tedesco. Nel complesso un'esperienza scadente.
Molto gentile la persona che mi ha risposto al telefono quando ho avvisato del ritardo all'arrivo e mi ha fatto trovare la chiave della camera anche con reception chiusa.

Mycket fräscht och centralt. Underbar frukost med mycket att välja på. Det enda negativa var att det var en portabel AC på rummet som väsnades mycket. Vi stängde av den på natten och hade fönsterna öppna. Det var precis lika illa då tågstationen ligger precis utanför med tåg hela natten.

Op terugreis vanuit Italië was dit een prima plek om te overnachten. Mooie schone kamer en badkamer en airco. Heerlijk geslapen. Ontbijtbuffet was uitgebreid en prima voor elkaar. Voor Zwitserse begrippen een heel goede prijs. Aanrader als je onderweg bent naar Italië.
