One week holiday in La Rochelle

The hotel is situated in a quiet area, close to the old port, about 10 mins walk to terasses and restaurants, 20mins walk to the train station. There is a Carrefour 5 mins walk from the hotel which was handy. The apartment was very clean, AC was great as we went to La Rochelle right in the middle of the heatwave.We did have to buy consumables (shower gel, toilet paper, dishwasher tablets) but we knew that already before arrival. The kitchen is well equipped for a holiday, most days we had breakfast in the room. Pool is not too big but we always found empty chairs and could cool down a bit in the afternoon. Would book again next time.

Logement froid, le chauffage ne chauffe pas l'intégralité de la pièce. Les portes de communication qui grincent, nous n'osions pas ferleryau risque de réveiller l'autre. Les robinets de la douche sont inversés la pastille bleue indique l'eau chaude et inversement avec la pastille rouge. La poire de douche faisant fuir l'eau sur le côté. Logement spacieux mais trop grand en automne hiver pour être chauffé correctement.

Hôtel is ok and is clean. Parking is excellent and was a real benefit as finding parking in the main area of La Rochelle is a nightmare.
Location is a bit commercial and out of the main area, but there is a shuttle water taxi that cuts off have of the walk to the main area, with this stopping at 11:45pm. The location therefore ended up being ok. Breakfast was ok but expensive.
No safe in room which was a bit of an issue. The hotel also only provides one bath towel for your stay and charges per towel to change this.
Each room appears to have its own hot water cylinder, so make sure that the first person in the bathroom does not run off all of the hot water - a full bath would use it all.
No one on reception from 8pm till 8am, although you are given a code.

Stayed for a trade fair in the nearby Espace Encan and rented a bicycle from the hotel. Excellent location also for the vast marina complex and the ferry into the old port. My only gripes are the very cumbersome wifi and the lack of a/c, as la Rochelle can get very hot. Top marks to the extremely helpful staff!

Spacious well-equipped room, although furniture was a bit tired, and a bulb had blown in the bathroom making it quite dark. Good amenities with the pool, and good location - only 15 minute walk into the old town, and a supermarket close by. Reception was very friendly and helpful - provided a good suggestion for dinner, avoiding the tourist traps. Good off-street parking.

They mixed up and charged me at the origin in the UK and then at the destination at the hotel. It caused anxiety and inconvenience for us. Rooms could have been much cleaner. Some guests with dirty pets walking around and some loud young people, not the best place for families. Location was good.

These apartments are well situated to explore La Rochelle on foot. A ten minute walk takes you to the centre in one direction and to the marina and beaches in the other. There are so many bars, restaurants and shops to visit. Locally, there is a small supermarket to provide all you need for self catering. Truly, a perfect accommodation option.

Good option self-catering close to the old city

The hotel is in a new area of La Rochelle but is very close to the modern marina and to the old city - only a short walk from each. Good self-catering option with secure parking but let down by a tiny thing: there was only a tiny amount of washing-up liquid in the kitchen for a family for a 4-day stay and we asked twice for more but none was provided. We went out to buy our own. Service otherwise was good.

I booked this because it said 4 star on the Expedia website. The accommodation is very poor. Basic beadrooms with woodchip paper, cheap thin carpets, chipboard bathrooms, a toilet which is so close to the wall that you have to sit sideways on it. Overall this is 2 star with a pool. Best avoided

Room was very clean but hasn't been updated since banana bags were in fashion. Very old cabinets and bed spreads - but at this price, it fits the bill. Vast underground and outdoor parking facilities. WiFi is horrendously slow, too.

Very friendly and attentive staff and the hotel looks good from the outside and reception. Shame the room was a little shabby. The carpet was stained in numerous places and the bathroom was very dated and needed a new bath panel caused by water that drips from the shower curtain. In 2015 all hotels should really have shower screens not curtains. The room was a decent enough size.

A positive experience.

Good clean spacious room with comfortable firm bed. In need of minor refurbishment in places as looking a bit tatty in some areas. Free ample parking a big plus. Did not take breakfast as in my opinion too expensive for what was on offer, there is a supermarket within a two minutes walk. For the price paid for 5 nights very happy with the decision to stay there. Almost forgot, only a brisk 10 minute walk to the centre of town so well positioned.

Good location only a short walk into the centre of La Rochelle where, on Bastille day there was a music festival and a street market together with many other attractions. At the moment there is a lot of construction taking place around the hotel and thus the road leading to it is in a bad state of repair. The apartment we had enjoyed the benefit of a kitchen which had all the amenities you would expect and was cleaned on a daily basis. Excellent parking both on ground and underground levels. Highly recommended.

I booked 2 double rooms \"with balcony or terrace overlooking pool or courtyard and a bed settee\". We got very basic roadside rooms overlooked by a working building site and no bed settee. - When I asked the staff if we could have what we had booked (a couple of months previously) we were informed very firmly that there was no option! Even though I had printed confirmation of our booking. This was not a good start to what turned out to be a brilliant holiday elsewhere.

Good hotel for family - good location

The hotel was perfect for our needs. Close enough to walk into restaurants, easy parking and good access to get to ring road when needed. Rooms were basic but clean - compared well with other similar types of hotel we have stayed in in France. We had a one bedroom apt, the kids slept on the bed setee and were fine. The industrial surroundings made no difference to us - and it was really useful to have a small Carrefour around the corner.

Being picky, would be good to have some English language tv channels and (personal preference) some spare pillows as the small ones we had seemed to made out of marshmallow. Pool was cold but bearable and only used by Brits.

We would definitely use again.

The hotel was very difficult to locate by car and required navigating a tricky one way system. The welcome at reception was fine but the hotel itself was very basic. The room (studio) was spacious but dated and tired. Bathroom facilities basic small towels and paper sachets of shower gel (not replaced next day) Breakfast average continental; tastless orange juice and warm coffee. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody. In a word Topotel was AWFUL.

One night in La Rochelle

Nice simple hotel; family room was clean and light with a double in one room and two single beds (Sofa bed)in the lounge area; ideal for our two young kids but would still be OK for 4 adults if you are good friends. The location while a short (10 min) walk from the port is in a light industrial area - not bad, just not very pretty. We where traveling with a car (4x4) and camping trailer (with bikes on the roof) so security was a priority for me which we found in the easily accessable underground car park. I'd say it's a great stop over hotel if you are passing through as we were (for one or two nights). If you where staying longer in La Rochelle would want something a little prettier and with more character....

Slightly outside La Rochelle - but nice walk in

The hotel is situated outside La Rochelle in the beginning of the university area. There is a yacht maintenance yard across from it, so ask for a room with view of the pool instead to avoid it. It's a fifteen minute walk into the very center of La Rochelle, but it's on quiet pedestrian areas and you can shorten it more by using the cheap water bus that drops you of in the port right next to all the restaurants. Definitely recommend this hotel for a family with young children.

We were a little bit concerned reading other reviews about the location, but actually its not that far out and using the electric ferry boat to cross the harbour is very handy. Having stayed at the Ibis Vieux Port previously it didn't really take any longer to get into the centre of town. The apartment itself was clean, spacious and well presented. Minor niggles were no iron, no shaver point, and just one tiny bin in bathroom. The WC was located by the entrance but the bathroom was at the back of the apartment - again only a minor niggle. Would definitely recommend to families - great value and much more spacious than most hotels. Breakfast available but we found a great bakers on the way to town serving good coffee etc.

On regrette la cuisine, qui par manque de place, on retrouve le micro onde à 1.70m de hauteur (galère pour prendre les plats).

Le GROS point noir réside dans l'aération: une minuscule fenêtre dans un Bow Window, pas d'air!

Le descriptif de l'annonce montre uniquement des photos d'un appartement avec une chambre séparée. A l'arrivée on nous installe dans un studio. Lorsque nous faisons remarquer à la réception que cela ne correspond pas à l'annonce une dame tres désagréable voire incorrecte nous dit que nous n'avions qu'à pas réserver via Abritel. Lorsque nous lui demandons de faire remonter l'info à sa direction, elle nous rit au nez en nous indiquant que sa direction n'est pas concernée par les réservations faites par Abritel. Une honte.
En dehors de cela, le studio était propre et la résidence bien située.

Rien ne vaut un vrai hôtel pour séjourner dans une ville.
J’ai pris un appartement de grande taille.
Un peu vieillot.
Pas de télécommande pour la TV...chambre très mal insonorisée, des résidents sans aucun respect pour ceux qui dorment...du bruit dans les couloirs, et que dire du bruit d’étudiants à l’extérieur jusqu’à 2h du matin.
Mieux vaut avoir le sommeil lourd.
Le Petit déjeuner est très commun et pas top.
Les chocolatines sèches...
Tout est moyen en fait...je n’y reviendrais pas.

Emplacement privilégié à La Rochelle

Séjour de 4 jours dans cet hôtel à mi chemin entre vieux port et plage des minimes
Chambre assez vaste pour 3 , propre et fonctionnelle. Pas de terrasse dans tous les appartements et impossible de faire marcher la climatisation
Belle piscine calme mais dommage qu’elle ferme à 19 h
Petits commerces proches
L’ensemble est très positif pour le prix

quelques ennuis d'équipement peut être lies au coronavirus ; accueil agréable mais pas d'info sur internet .
départ attente sans possibilité de s'asseoir alors que c'était inutile : la corbeille à clés était disponible
