Amazing Service and Great Location

We had an amazing stay at the Maccan Cave Hotel! The staff and service were phenomenal and went above and beyond to make us feel at home, particularly Ali and Mert. The room was very clean, comfortable and cosy. The airport transfer to and from Kayseri was organised by the hotel and they have a good laundry service too. The breakfast was really great and we are now addicted to Turkish tea! There are plenty of opportunities to take some tea to the roof terrace and enjoy the amazing views and great weather. For me, the highlight of this property is the stunning panoramic views from the roof terrace. Located at a very high point in Göreme, the hot air balloon views at sunrise were truly unforgettable and everything you could hope for. We would definitely stay here again! Do not hesitate to stay here during your visit to Cappadocia!

Superb cave hotel

Superb hotel with the cave rooms under the street (no worries, we didn't hear a thing). The room had great furnishings and was well appointed. Staff is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet is delicious with a great view of thew balloons taking off.

They serve wine and beer but no dinner. The fancy Seten restaurant is within walking distance.

Word of advice: do not drive to the hotel, especially at 5 PM. While they have adequate street parking, the alley is very narrow, very steep and the drivers are very aggressive. It would have been better to park your rentacar in the \"flats\" and take a taxi to the hotel!

No elevator, if that's important to you.

It was excellent! We came with friends on motobicycles. The parking has smooth ground what is very convinient for moto parking. Staff was very hospitable and service was on the best level. Baloon tour and city tour was organized in advance on the best price. Staff was userful in any our request. They organized wonderful dinner. They have very good vine offer in the bar. The room itself was really great and clean. Very antic design but with all modern comfort. I highly recommend this hotel

I wouldn’t stay there again

The hotel is near the city center about 10 minutes walk, and it’s pretty . However the staff don’t speak English at all, very difficult communication. The hair dryer didn’t work , I asked for another one the russian guy on the front desk didn’t want to bring me another one . When I finally got one next day I found out the problem was the electric that doesn’t support a hair dryer for more than few minutes.
The breakfast wasn’t good and if you ask for a coffee or hot chocolate they will charge you extra , very disappointing.

Very nice small hotel. Our room and bathroom were large and comfortable. The breakfast is huge and served in a pretty room overlooking the valley. They also have a great photo-worthy rooftop terrace for taking pictures of the balloons. The staff was very nice. Because it is up the hill there are great views but you do have to walk up and down to get to the main street. Good wifi the whole time.

Staff were friendly at check-in but did not like the consistent push to buy tours through them, noticed once we booked balloon ride ourselves they not as friendly.
Got laundry done and all the whites come back grey/blue colour.

Great hotel, i would stay again. The first night was a good room, for the second night a i was moved to a different which bed was not comfortable. It was a cheap matress, but the view is awesome, you can actually see the balloom show from the great terrace they have. I would stay at this hotel again, service is excellent.

We had a great time here. The cave rooms are unique. Deluxe cave room had a decent amount of space. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious with a wide variety. They will also cook egg to order. It's pretty close to all the restaurants and stores, probably about a 10-12 min walk. Everyone at the hotel was always helpful. They can help you book any activity you want to do and also help with booking transport to and from airport whether its a shuttle or private. Great stay, would recommend.

Maccan is aamazing. From the moment i stepped in to the moment i left, it was a brilliant experience.

Staff are amazing and very helpful. The rooms are sooooo cool, comfy and the special touch they have used for interior design is next to none.

The rooftop is where its at. Whether its to catch the hot air balloons in the morning, or just to relax and take it all in in the evening...its something you must do. Its prolly one of the better ones as the hotel is situated in the elevated parts of Gorëme.

I would go as far and say, id come back and stay here in the future.

Last minute cancellation from hotel

I can't comment on the hotel location nor facilities as our booking was cancelled in the last minute by the hotel.

We had so much hope on this hotel after seeing the impressive cave hotel photos and good reviews on the website.

I contacted the hotel to book the airport shuttle 2 days before our arrival. The hotel responded to me promptly and I told them my flight details and eta for confirmation. However the evening before my check-in, the hotel messaged me and said my room is overbooked so they have to send me to another hotel instead. It was not acceptable as the other hotel is not the one that I would consider. The last minute cancellation of our fully-paid hotel room caused us lots of troubles and inconvenience. We even felt like being betrayed to be sent to another hotel which is not our choice.

Glad I contacted Hotels.com immediately and they found me another hotel (although it was a long process and I had the on-off calls with the agent the whole evening till midnight). End up we were staying at the Roc of Cappadocia which I highly recommended.

In short - may be the Maccan Cave Hotel is good but we hadn't got a chance to stay there but the last minute cancellation was not acceptable. I contacted the hotel 2 days before arrival but no sign of overbooking until the night before arrival!

Amazing stay in July 2022 - hotel is clean, well located, and beautiful throughout. Great views from the terrace of Goreme, and of course the mesmerizing hot air balloons in the morning. 100/10 would recommend and will return. The location is perfect, short walk to the town and shops and restaurants, but removed perfectly for the quiet you seek on a vacation.
The hospitality and service in this hotel is something the West has a lot to learn from. They were accommodating with early check in/late check out, and the owner himself gave us a ride into town when we were leaving. The pride he takes in running this hotel is shown and appreciated. Thank you for a great stay - we will be back.

This was our first time visiting Cappadocia and we’re so glad we chose to stay at Maccan Cave Hotel. It’s a small and intimate place and the staff was amazing. The location is really cool, up on the hill with amazing views. Our balloon ride was canceled on the first try due to high winds, but the staff was really helpful and they were able to find us a spot for the next morning (my guy Biurim went above and beyond), and we were able to go on our balloon ride. It was one of the best experiences of our lives. We also had breakfast on the rooftop with the balloons flying on our last day before heading to the airport, this was also a magical moment. I would highly recommend staying at Maccan Cave Hotel when you visit Cappadocia. We’ll definitely stay here when we visit again in a few years.

Everything was going good. For the tour areangement we paid to the staff and he areanged the tour saying everything is includes in that price. The tour went ok and then we recahed to the airport and shuttle deiver asked me to pay as they said i did not pay to the hotel. While diacussing about the trip option he neither gave me a receipt to prove that i paid for all the service. I had to double pay to the shuttle driver as they were not letting me go and my flight was almost slipping through. I liked everything about the hotel and even liked the facilities and the staff behavior. But this one thing made me feel very uncomfotable.

What a stay! We had a great time and would 10/10 recommend. The room was lovely, the views were amazing, and the staff were wonderful. We got into a minor accident and the attendant helped us so much! He called the police, spoke with them, and helped us with the car rental agency too. I feel terrible for forgetting his name, but I THINK it was Chevher. The breakfasts were also very good. Plenty of variety, filling, and delicious.

They don’t have rooms with two beds despite fact that’s what we booked. Might have been hotel.com fault. Better for couple than 2 friends traveling. Guy who checked us in said no other rooms and room was too small to add a rollaway. When we said we’d leave and get money back he suddenly found bigger room that would fit roll away bed. Everyone else was super nice and helpful. Room was nicely decorated although the chairs were totally impractical. Bathroom was gorgeous.

All the hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. They went out of their way to help us out in ensuring that we are able to make our flight, shoutout to Okan and Ali for their help! The breakfast was outstanding! The terrace provides an amazing view of goreme. The hotel’s location is very convenient. The room is clean and decent size. All in all, we had a great hotel experience. We will surely be back in this hotel on our next trip to Cappadocia!

I have been traveling for 9 months and this is the cleanest hotel I have stayed at during this time. The cleaning staff should be commended for the exceptional work they do. The room was spectacular! Indeed it was a cave, yet it was romantic and very comfortable. I loved the big glowing red heart on the top terrace. See the photo with my review. Spectacular views from all three terraces.

We arrived late - the night manager helped us get settled very quickly and efficiently, then early in the morning we were woken for our balloon flight, as requested. On our return we were treated to a very nice continental breakfast before having a nap to catch up on missed sleep from our extended journey. The room was clean, and being a cave-room with air-con, was dark and cool enough to quickly fall asleep. The staff then organised a trip to a local Hamam (with discount) to help us relax into our holiday and also booked us an evening at a local venue for a Turkish Folk Night with traditional food, music and dancing - very good fun. We had lots of questions about the history and customs of the local area, as well as asking for ideas as to what to see and where to visit on our short trip. All our questions were answered patiently and knowledgeably by our very helpful hosts, from recommendations for local attractions to where to purchase forgotten essentials. Lovely views from the roof-top garden and balcony restaurant. Before we left, we had a concern about hire-car fees after using the toll-roads, the day manager checked our paperwork, called the car hire firm and ensured that we did not get any nasty surprises before explaining how the toll system worked, very reassuring; he also called the firm again to let them know when we were heading back to the airport to make sure we were met at the airport. Did I say how helpful the staff were?

A nice hotel with knowledgeable staff

The Maccan Cave hotel isone of many in the same area. The staff were very helpful and the room was clean although a bit cramped. The bathroom was lovely and the shower excellent. Breakfast was varied and lovely. The hotel is close enough to everything to walk and the arrangements they made for us for tours and such were less expensive than had we booked things directly, The hot air balloon ride they arranged saved us ~50%. They offered good recommendations and served as guides for us as well. I definitely recommend them.

The staff at the Maccan Cave hotel were fantastic. Super friendly and helpful, making is feel at home. The breakfast was amazing with different home made treats every morning. Beautiful hotel, okay service, terrible wifi

Overall, my stay was good. There were a few things I had issues with though. I stayed in a cave suite downstairs, and I had neither wifi nor cell service in my room. Also, I booked tours through reception, and paid 25-30% more than I would have otherwise. The free breakfast was decent, but not good enough to eat every day of my stay. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel if you choose a room upstairs (not true \"cave\" rooms, but will receive wifi and cell service) and book tours on your own via the main street.

the staff was wonderful. we went in the winter off season and it was freezing. we arrived by rental car which could not make it up the steep winding street up to the hotel. Fortunately, the staff was so wonderful, Ahmed drove down to pick us up in his own car. We stayed in the deluxe room which was spacious and was actually in a cave, but unfortunately, the generator was directly above the room so created a loud noise at night for a few hours and caused a considerable amount of rock dust and debris to fall onto the floor of the room everyday. Luckily, they moved us to an available standard room above, which had a lovely arched ceiling but a little smaller. Although it wasn't part of the actual cave, it still had a cave feel to it, which was nice.

Our entire stay (only one night!) was great from beginning to end.
Checkin was easy and staff very helpful. There was free parking next to the hotel which was good.
The room was clean and the bed very comfortable and most of all very charming. We had supper at the restaurant of the hotel which had a great view and the food was delicious and fresh. The lady who served was full of attention and very nice. Breakfast was included and was just as nice. Fresh food to start the day! I would highly recommend this hotel if staying in Goreme.

Nice room, excellent food and gorgeous view

We had a warm welcome at the reception, introduced with a few tour options and advised with some ideas of day planning which proved to be very helpful and worked out very well. The room was at a budget price but quality comparable to a four star hotel room. The bed was very comfortable, facilities were well maintained. The hotel restaurant was very impressive. Mix grilled chicken kebab was the best we ever had. The view from the roof terrace was amazing. Staff were very kind. When the lady came to us asking whether she could offer us some brews, we felt we had made a good choice to stay in this hotel.

Great spot overlooking Goreme

Lovely place, with a view over lots of fairy chimneys. The hotel staff will book balloon flights and tours for you and they pick up and drop off at your door. Great breakfast in a lovely terrace room where you can watch the balloons.

Best hotel you can dream of in Cappadocia

The hotel management consists of the warmest family you can expect. Extremely friendly, helpful and nice. The breakfast was amazing and they literally make sure you have your morning food. The view is absolutely gorgeous, you can just stay in the hotels common area all day, eat their delicious food (best pottery kebab in the town) and chat with the staff all day and call it a day.

The room was the best and the most authentic room we have ever stayed in our lives. We were given a cave room with Jacuzzi. So comfy and magnificent. Overall it was a great experience. We would definitely stay there again if we go and we recommend this place to all travelers.

We had a fantastic stay at the Maccan Cave Hotel. We booked the \"gold package\" through the hotel and everything was perfect. Can, the manager, hand selected the hot air balloon company/pilot and the tour company where we had an excellent guide. I highly recommend a stay here.

Pleasant cave hotel experience

We stayed at Maccan for 2 nights and we loved everything about it - the room was clean and spacious, we enjoyed our breakfast and the beautiful scenery from its terrace/restaurant. The staffs were also helpful throughout our stay.

Beautiful, family-run cave hotel with a view

We loved our two night stay at Maccan. We arrived early and our room wasn't ready so we were invited to relax in the dining room. The view was lovely and it was so nice and warm in the sun. The hotel also has a roof top terrace. The hotel was impeccably clean and the staff work so hard at keeping it looking amazing. The turkish breakfast was great.Typically Turkish but with lots of variety. We dined at the restaurant both nights for dinner and was very impressed. You are given beautiful fresh bread and dips before your meal and a complimentary tea afterwards. The food was beautiful and the main chef lady in the kitchen works very hard, all day and night cooking! Would definitely recommend.

A great experience

We stayed in Cappadocia for 2 days/1 night as part of a 2 week vacation in Turkey, and this hotel was one of the ones we enjoed most. Lovely decoration, great bathroom and a lovely terrace view on the roof overlooking the town and valley. Everyone was really nice.

Eşimle iki gece konakladık. Oda temizliği iyiydi, yatak konforlu ve rahattı. Kahvaltısı gayet yeterli ve personel güler yüzlüydü. Bölgede merkezi gezmek isteyenler için otel merkezi konumda. Ayrıca müthiş manzaralı birrerasi var. Küçük bir tavsiye olsun terasa biraz şemsiye ve tabure atarak daha canlandirabilirler.

A estadia não poderia ter sido mais perfeita por conta de toda a ambientação da pousada e do quarto em formato de caverna, sendo uma experiência incrível. Fora isto, cabe destacar a localização, sendo muito próxima ao centro da cidade, além do ótimo atendimento prestado por todos da pousada e, por último, o excelente café da manhã proporcionado por uma vista linda de toda Gorome.

Fantastisk beliggenhet! Hotellet lå opp en bakke, mindre enn fem minutters gange fra hovedgata. Utsikten var utrolig, og perfekt takterrasse for å se ballongene. Sengen og puten var noe hard, men resepsjonen ordnet ny pute. Frokosten var god. Kan absolutt anbefale dette hotellet!

Foi ótima! O hotel não estava cheio devido ao final da baixa temporada. Os recepcionistas foram super amigáveis, nos assessoraram em todos os passeios, nos deram dicas, e estavam sempre prontos para nos ajudar. O café da manhã turco é ótimo, foi suficiente para nós. Apenas o quarto que pegamos era um pouco pequeno para nossas bagagens, mas já sabíamos disso previamente. Quarto aquecido, chão com aquecimento e banheiro bem espaçoso. O Hotel é muito charmoso e lindamente decorado e conta com um terraço bem gostoso com uma vista incrível para Goreme, ele fica num ponto alto em Goreme, então tenha em mente que se estiver sem carro, você irá subir algumas ladeiras, mas como estávamos de carro alugado isso não foi desgastante. Super recomendo o hotel! E para passeios mais baratos, podem contar com a assessoria do hotel, que tem contato de muitas empresas e passeios.

Me encantó el hotel además de hermoso, acogedor, pero lomas valioso es la atención personalizada del staff y el propietario. Me hicieron sentir muy cómoda, y estuvieron atentos en todo momento sobre mi comodidad y requerimientos, además de dar apoyo con transporte, etc. El espéctaculo de globos que logré ver desde su terraza es una experiencia única e increible.

Otel aynen göründüğü gibi, kahvaltı oldukça yeterli. Biz bebekle geldik, problem yaşamadık. Sadece bölgede yollar çok sorunlu, park yeri de sıkıntılı. Otel çalışanları yardımcı oldular sağolsunlar. Yine de göz önünde bulundurmak gerek.
