Title: Exceptional service and life-saving care – A truly outstanding hotel

Rating: 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible team at this hotel. During my stay, I unfortunately suffered a severe burn on my hand. From the very first moment, the staff acted with incredible speed and care, providing me with ice and ointment immediately.

When it became clear that the injury was more serious and I needed a pharmacy, the staff didn’t hesitate for a second to drive me there personally. At the pharmacy, we were told the burn was severe and required hospital treatment. A special thanks to Osman, who went above and beyond by arranging for two staff members to accompany me. They not only stayed with me at the hospital but also assisted with the medication and all the follow-up arrangements.

Being injured in a foreign country can be a frightening experience, but the proactive help and warm care organized by Osman made me feel incredibly safe and well-looked-after. This level of professionalism and genuine heart is rare. It was truly the most heartwarming and memorable part of my trip to Cappadocia.

I am recovering well now, thanks to the timely treatment they helped me receive. I am already looking forward to my next visit to Cappadocia, and I will definitely choose to stay here again.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a hotel that truly cares about its guests!

The hotel absolutely exceeded our expectations! We booked the balloon view suite and the views at sunrise were more beautiful than we could have imagined! The balloons were surprisingly close! Our room was also just as pictured and they provided all necessary toiletries including slippers! As for breakfast it was genuinely the best hotel breakfast we've ever had. SO MUCH variety and the views were 10/10. Everything was truly perfect for our 5 day stay.

Great hotel with excellent views of the whole area and the hot air balloons. The room was quite big , well equipped and very beautiful with the cave style stone work and the hot tub was enormous. Would definitely recommend staying here when visiting cappadocia

The best location, situated on a high point in the center of town, offers the best view of the hot air balloons. The young staff member at the front desk was incredibly friendly and almost always accommodating; I was very grateful to him. The breakfast restaurant also offers a fantastic view.

The cave we checked in the roof was leaking water. I asked to switch to a different room and was told no room available. I think the room was leaking water before we checked in. They should not host any guest if the cave roof room is leaking waterr.!

The room that we got was so different from the pictures. It was so tiny. Compared with $378 we paid, it’s not worth at all. We checked in at 1am. we just thought that’s only 3-4 hour sleep. If we check in normal time, we would have to complain it. Luckily we got Milat for the second night. It’s cheaper and much more comfortable. We paid only $110 and breakfast was so much better. If you looking for the best hotel in Cappadocia, you better give this hotel as your last choice.

False Advertising. Do not stay here.

This post is dated August 9th 2025. We traveled from the United States. We booked Mithra Cave hotel for 2 nights after reading the reviews. The room was not as described on hotels.com. False advertising. The fairy chimney room has no windows but the rooms pictures showed hot air balloons. The morning breakfast was stale. We checked in to our room and saw that it had no windows and it was absolutely claustrophobic. We immediately requested a new room and the staff stated it wasn’t available. My wife and I checked out of this hotel within 2 hours of checking in. We found another hotel to stay. We requested the hotel to charge us for 1 night and refund the second night (the room cost us around $350 a night) as we thought it was fair. The staff said that they will speak to the manager and call us about the refund. We haven’t received a call yet. I opened a case with hotels.com. The pictures were a scam to lure customers in. You can only see the view from the hotel property. Not from the rooms. You can find hotels without a view in cappadocia for approximately $120 a night. We lost our money for 2 nights. We moved to Kelebek hotel instead. The rooms were as advertised.

If your are go for the beautiful rooftop and cave environment, it would be your best choice. But the king suit is overrated, except the jacuzzi is not working, hot water pot wire too short, some sockets are out of power, falling some lime etc. Other things were cozy and the staff is super helpful.

We stayed at Mithra Cave Hotel for two nights and absolutely loved it. The cave room was stunning and full of character, and the views from the rooftop were the best we saw in Cappadocia—perfect for watching the hot air balloons. I proposed to my fiancée on the private terrace, and the staff were incredibly helpful in organising everything, which made it even more special. The service, setting, and atmosphere were all exceptional. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay—highly recommend to anyone visiting Cappadocia!

We had a great stay as a family of 5. Our room had a balcony which was an amazing place to watch the morning balloons from, plenty of space for the kids and separate sleeping area for the adults. Restaurant property was good, and had a nice breakfast. In easy walking distance to the whole town and lots of good dining options, staff were always helpful and their airport transportation was on time and well priced. Overall a great place to stay.

The highlights of Mithra included the view, the location, and their restaurant for dinner specifically (the manti was supreme). Otherwise, the quality of this hotel was more on the fair to poor side. We arrived before checkin and were please we only had to wait a short while for our room - but other than this the service was lackluster. We were often told my staff they couldnt help with something - like when we asked for additional towels. The room did not come with an iron or ironing board but they did bring us one - though the ironing board was torn to shreds. The bed was hard and pillows were flat. The room did not have enough lighting. Additionally, the shower drastically overflowed and flooded the entire bathroom - when we told reception they said “its okay” rather than fix it. So our bathroom was flooded nearly the entire stay between morning and evening showers (there was an additional drain next to the toilet).

The cleanliness of the hotel also left something to be desired. There was a dirty glass coffee cup outside of our room that was there when we checked in and remained there until after we checked out.

Cappadoccia is a beautiful place and I was excited to stay here but if I were to return I would choose a different hotel. Sultan Cave Suites or Kelebek were both nearby and both much better.

The room is beautiful, spacious and clean. I loved that there are so many terraces in the hotel that you can sit and enjoy the view. I was able to watch hot air balloon by simply stepping out of my room. My favorite part of the hotel is the library area. It's a semi indoor cave room with vintage furniture, and a small area where you can play chess. The room and the common area really made me feel like I live in caves.

The service of the hotel, however, could be improved. There were two tissue box in the room, one had a few left and one was empty. I thought they would be replenished during housekeeping the next day but they weren't. After two days, the toilet paper also ran out and it took a few hours to get them to send some to our room.

The room has a nice and large bathroom, but it seems that the ceiling of the bathroom is falling apart. There were some dust and small particles of cave stone falling constantly, and visible cracks. I hope it will be properly maintained for safety.

Overall I enjoyed my time in the hotel, and would like to come back next time.

We had a wonderful stay at Mithra Cave Hotel in Göreme, Cappadocia! The hotel is beautifully designed, offering a truly unique cave experience with stunning views, a comfortable stay, and a delicious breakfast included. The staff was very helpful and welcoming, and a special mention to Omar, who went out of his way to help us take pictures and videos before we left.

What We Loved:

✔ Beautiful and well-maintained rooms that give an authentic cave hotel experience.
✔ Great breakfast with a variety of options.
✔ Friendly and helpful staff, always ready to assist.
✔ Perfect location—easy access to attractions and stunning sunrise views.
✔ Steam room was a great addition to the experience.

Areas for Improvement:

🔹 No soap or shampoo holder in the shower, which made it inconvenient.
🔹 The hot spa tub was dirty—when we turned on the jets, it spat out dirt, likely due to unclean nozzles. We ended up not using it after seeing that. Regular maintenance would improve the experience.
🔹 Weak Wi-Fi signal—probably due to the cave structure. It would be great if they could provide individual modems in the rooms so guests can access the internet properly. Searching for restaurants or attractions became frustrating without a stable connection.
🔹 Shower issues—the overhead shower did not direct water properly, so we had to use the hand shower instead.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, we had an amazing time, and the hotel offers a truly unique and memorable experience.

This hotel is just beautiful. Great for taking pictures both inside the property and from the hotel's view - specially when ballons are up in the early morning. Room was very clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that I couldn't connect to the wifi or to my own mobile data while in the room, only in the common areas, even though the staff told me it would be solved - I just think there isn't good reception in the room. Tour packages from the hotel are highly recommended. Staff was welcoming, helpful and friendly.

Overall the hotel comfort was sub. As there is no air-conditioning in most of the rooms, although we found out that some do hvae them inatalled. However we werent asked that preference upon check in. In full blown summer, it can be better with aircon time. Apart from that issue, theboverall experience was great as the hot air baloon makes up and puts that smile on your face. This hotel has a prime location, so if they improve on this fact, it can be a better stay and improve ratings

An amazing experience - your hotel room … in a cave!!!
Hotel Mithra is a great place to stay and experience the wonder of the Cappodocia region.
The staff are so attentive and keen to assist you any way they can.
The Mithra location is excellent for enjoying nighttime lights and sounds of Goreme and if you get up early enough, you have the very best view of up to 150 balloons in flight majestically flying in front of your very eyes. Just magical!
So, do it!
Go to Goreme.

The hotel has a very nice location with only 5-10min walk to everything, even to the Sunset Viewpoint! My friend and I spent 2 nights in the cave room just next to the reception. Everything was fantastic except for the internet condition: the only available Wi-Fi was from the reception, but it was too weak to connect. Even though we wanted to switch to use our mobile data instead, there’s no 4G signal in the room neither…

This has to be the best Cave Hotel in Cappadocia! We stayed here as a family of 5 for 4 days. Our room had a patio so close to the hot air balloons we were able to wave to each other as they passed by. The staff is beyond amazing and were able to book us activities cheaper than we could find online or at the local travel spots. The breakfast was very good with plenty of options. It’s about a 3-5 minute walk down hill to the shops and restaurants. My family and I were always greeted by the staff and they are truly nice people. If we come back I couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else, thank you!

Charming hotel but with sub-par service

Our experience was below expectations for the price paid and hotel star rating. The service seems great at first because of the warm welcome. The staffs would always promised to take care of our concerns or issues but simply end up ignoring our requests. Although the breakfast was free, we were only there once because we did not our experience because of the bees on our food. We had a nice room with a spectacular view of the region. However, our front door was used as a dumpster for all the outdoor furnitures when it rains, making it a very unpleasant experience. Even after multiple complaints, the staffs would only take care of it once. After few frustration, we were simply let it go because of the obvious inaction or attempt to ignore our requests. The hotel overall looks really nice and charming. We enjoy taking pictures on the terrasse. Since it is located at the top of the hill, please expect to do some walk-up every time you visit the village at the bottom. Activities in the region is quite entertaining, but pricey for what you get.

Definitely the cave hotel experience I was looking forward too. They had a romantic setup for my husband and I with petals and balloons which I didn’t expect! Which was a huge hit for my toddler. Didn’t even have to request a crib for him as they already had it setup!

Above expectations, check in was quick and easy. Food was ok for the breakfast buffet. One thing I noticed don’t order pizza (only thing my kid eats) anywhere ANYWHERE in turkey. Lol, literally a tortilla bread with cheese on it. But it’s ok. Drinks at this place is meh too.

Everything else was on point! Would definitely go back next time!!!

Even though we only stayed for one night we loved this hotel. Our flight landed in the morning and our room wasn’t quite ready yet, which we were of course expecting. The front desk was very nice and told us we can go have breakfast with the rest of the guests at their restaurant. Breakfast was nice and refreshing. The view from their terrace is one of the best in the city and the hotel is very close to the city center. We booked a deluxe room and it was small but very cozy. Next morning we woke up early to watch the balloons and the setup on their terrace was spectacular! One of the best viewpoints in the city to watch the balloons. All in all, highly recommend.

the attention to the detail was perfect. the staff members very nice and print to help you.
we have a medical issue and the staff was move very fast and the service to the hospital was incredible we only have very nice words for all the medical team and the hotel stage to take care about us .
we reserved the terrace and the photographer gives very nice pictures the hotel location is privilege and the hot balloon experience was out mind. we recommended to all our friends.

Food was great. Also probably had the best terrace of all the cave hotels. Stayed in the honey moon suite, which was super cool, but I think there was a plumbing issue because there was a strange smell in the room.

I had requested for a double bed when i made the booking. They put us in a room with two twin beds. Upon request they said they did not have any other room available. They joined the beds together but both were not on the same height. One was lower than the other. We were kept waiting outside the lobby for a while just to have the manager say there is nothing they can do besides join the beds. All in all we did not have a very comfortable nights sleep. We were there for only a night and did not appreciate the bed situation after the long day we had. We took an international flight then a domestic connection then a shuttle transfer to get to Cappadocia and were exhausted. Apart from that the location and housekeeping staff were great.

Great Property and view. Amazing room in the cave. Only thing is we booked a triple on expedia and then they wanted to charge us an extra $30 per day for a roll away bed, than they did not bring. They just turned the sofa into a bed inside the room.

My friend and I had a pleasant and comfortable stay at Mithra Cave Hotel. It is located within a close walk to the main town. Our room was spacious and clean. There were several terraces which offered spectacular views.

All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Serhat was absolutely wonderful. He was very approachable and went above and beyond to make our trip go smoothly and make the most of our stay. He gave recommendations and made bookings for activities including a hot air balloon ride through a great company which we had an amazing experience with.

We would definitely stay at the Mithra Cave Hotel hotel again.

Lovely Quaint picturest hotel situated high up on the goreme hills, with many roof top terraces to view your early morning hot air balloons from the breakfast areas. Nice fairy chimney rooms over 2 floors with big jacuzzi bath tub, shame it doesnt have a window though, and struggled with charging points for phones. Short walk down to the small town area. Right next door is the highly recommended seten restaurant which was very nice. Mithra has lots of different steps and routes to get around the hotel and to access different roof tops. Excellent stay absolutely recommend this to anyone.

My friend and I stayed for two nights in the Cave suite. It was very clean and comfortable and looked even better than the photos. The staff were extremely caring and helpful, especially Serhat who worked at reception and assisted us after an airport delay with our luggage. The view from the terrace was stunning, as was the hotel with many areas available to view the hot air balloons. I would only suggest a wider variety at breakfast, but otherwise a comfortable and magical stay we would highly recommend staying here!

I did enjoy my stay at the Mithra Cave Hotel. The Fairy Chimney room was an interesting experience. On one hand, it was neat to stay inside the cave, but on the other a nicer view would have been nice. You can walk out to one of the many terraces at the hotel to watch the balloons taking off in the mornings, or just to enjoy the view in general during the day. Note that the balloons start to take off before sunrise, so be sure to get up early. I wasn't wowed by the service at the hotel, but I have to say, I was not wowed by the service at any hotel during my visit to Turkey. So, relatively speaking, the service was on par. I have not complaints. I have to say that I do not get the appeal of a round bed. I would rather have a rectangular bed; especially if that means I get a more comfortable mattress. I would definitely recommend staying in a cave hotel during your stay because they seem to have the best views of the valley and convenience to restaurants and shopping. I would not say that this hotel in particular was remarkable in any way.
