Check in. Room was not ready so I asked them to let me know when it was a I waited in the bar with my group. No one came and when I went back it had been ready. Shower weak. Toilet did not flush. Lifts tricky and long waits. I walked down and each time ended up outside as it was a fire exit.

The second room we were allocated was much better. The first room was smelly and close to the lifts.
The shower was terrible and nothing more than a trickle of water. The pillows are lumpy and uncomfortable. The bed was rather firm. I would not have wanted to stay longer than one night. Breakfast was quite good.

Checking in process is a ridiculously long process - queued and waited nearly 30 mins, onerous and needless form filling when I had already paid and booked online so they already had all my details.

Beds were uncomfy and consisted of 2 singles pushed together! No mention of this in the advert on the site, and was actually described as Super King Size.

Had to go to reception in the evening to activate a card to order room service, wasnt taken at the time of check-in which ended up being inconvenient on the 11th floor.

Shower had no pressure and was dripping minimally, we stayed in room 1120.

Club lounge was very boring and no atmosphere or music whilst we were in there... so only had one drink and left, not worth any form of upgrade difference in price and disappointing.

Was recommended the Crown Plaza by a friend who spoke highly of it. Wish I’d booked the Crown in the centre instead.
After walking around Harrogate for 2hrs in the rain until check-in, we were pleased to get out of our wet clothing. I went to make a cup of tea wearing my PJs only to find no tea bags, so had to put back on wet clothes to go to reception for tea bags. I was given 3 teabags for 2 of us (odd number but never mind), only after coming back into the room noticed no sugar so needed to repeat the whole process with wet clothing!! Very annoying.
Dusty room (wasn’t just from 1 or 2 missed days - it was a build up) especially the small ledge under the TV.
Cotton buds left in the room bin from the previous occupant, all in all, dirty and neglected, not presented well enough and was to a very poor standard of housekeeping. If this was the standard at 3pm, maybe we could have checked in earlier and saved getting wet because clearly it must have been a bed change and bin empty only - shame the bin liner wasn’t changed. Lady on reception asked me to complete a card detailing the issues with the room presumably to pass on to someone else, and told me she’d give a 10% refund off the room rate which I haven’t seen yet.. safe to say we won’t be staying in a Crown Plaza again.

We arrived early and we were directed to the car park. I was informed that the parking was to pay for when checking out. On further inspection I realised that parking was prepaid. This was rectified by the 2nd check-in person I saw.
Couple of other points
I have a blue badge and you only have 2 spaces in front of hotel. Maybe allocate some near the lift in the car park.
Bar staff could be trained how to make an Irish coffee. I asked for an Irish coffee with disaronno instead of whiskey and got a cappuccino with disaronno in rather than a glass of coffee with whipped cream on top.

Also has the advantage of a large car park with very reasonable rate, add to this the staff are very friendly & professional. The hotel is also spotlessly clean. Will be staying again, thank you.

My partner needed a meal warming up due to a dietary requirement He was dealt with rudely by the receptionist. It wasn’t the fact of not being able to warm the meal it was the treatment of my partner and dismissing him to speak to another customer before the conversation had concluded.

The check in was not informative. We had no idea the restaurant was on the second floor. Sad you have to work it all out by reading a leaflet. The human touch just lacking.
The location and Harrogate is lovely but the hotel is below par.
Breakfast quality wasn’t great and had much better in other Crowe Plazas. Would rate Leeds CP over this but because they are in Harrogate and it’s next to the Convention centre they don’t need to really try as it’s in a prime place.
Shower dribbled and the tap leaked so the water ran over the side intro the floor so need to leave a towel. Told reception but they weren’t too bothered.
Check out was just a good as check in and there was no “how was your stay”. OR if they don’t want to know “we hope you enjoyed your stay”. !
Did speak to General Manage and he was very kind and did listen to our views.

I expected more from the Plaza to be honest. Staff were helpful and attentive but the overall hotel itself is tired in the common parts and needs updating. The room was ok, very clean etc and in reasonble condition.
Breakfast could be better in terms of choice. Although you could order what you liked and service was very good. The staff worked very hard and were very polite. Lovely people.
