Ideally situated just off the Stray, this is a pleasant newly refurbished hotel with excellent facilities & is a great place to stay in Harrogate. Don’t be put off by the Cedar Court brand -this is way smarter than the Wakefield one.

Great stay at hotel as it a good base for sightseeing Harrogate and other places, short walk into Harrogate and buses run very frequently. Hotel windows could do with nets or blinds and the wind whistled all one night through the window vent. My mattress sagged a bit in the middle and had two lights not working on arrival. On the whole we were happy with our stay and would probably go back.

Beautiful property and lovely outdoor area on first impressions, though there were areas requiring attention; a water stain from a leak on the ceiling above one of the bay windows within the bar area and the woodwork on the large window on the outer foyer in need of repair. Well appointed bar with plenty of selection. Drinks served cold and as per our requirements. We didn’t eat, so can’t comment on breakfast or restaurant. We upgraded to a suite which was absolutely beautiful and spacious. My only suggestion would be the addition of a fridge, which could be easily accommodated given the space available. The internet access and speed was not great and kept dropping out. A password protected system for guests only, might be a solution? Other than these minor things, this is our second stay and we will definitely return. There is ample safe parking, payable on arrival, though plenty of road space just outside the property if you do not wish to pay. It is well situated with just a 8 - 10 minute walk (flat terrain) into Harrogate. There is a tee pee outside the hotel, recently re-roofed in which themed evenings are planned, such as champagne & prosecco evenings and comedy evenings. If you are bringing your dog(s) they seem to be very welcome, with treats available and rooms which can accommodate them, with lovely parkland and field areas directly across the road from the hotel.

The hotel provides a very positive initial visual experience with very well decorated and maintained general areas restaurants and bedrooms
However an unadvertised demand for a parking fee (£10 / 24 hrs) immediately on arrival before we’d even unloaded all bags from our car did not go down well including the surly way this was demanded
As we’d been travelling for several days we had a lot of baggage and had to search for a luggage trolley (no assistance offered) which I then had to get into the lift etc
We had planned for this to be a final overnight and planned for a fine meal to end the trip and were acutely disappointed to see a hugely limited and unadvertised restricted Sunday dinner menu that had clearly started life as a Sunday lunch menu evidenced by what arrived as main courses
Other examples of poor food included a panacotta with enough gelatine to be used as a hockey puck - we opted to not even try the breakfast menu
On the upside some staff were very friendly but overall there was very little positive interaction between staff that are a hall mark of a well managed hotel
One simple facility improvement would include a small fridge in rooms needed in a hotel that was hot and not air conditioned
We would not be staying there again

Cedar Court is a beautiful hotel with views over The Stray. The staff are extremely helpful, courteous and welcoming. The room was fairly spacious, with a very comfortable bed. My only (minor) criticism is that the heated towel rail in the bathroom was situated too high on the wall (above the toilet) for me to put the towels on to dry. There was nowhere else to put the towels. Apart from that small issue, it was an excellent stay.

The setting of this hotel is beautiful. The room we had was recently renovated and was extremely comfortable. The staff were great, very friendly and attentive. We will be back to Harrogate and will definitely look to stay here again. The on-site Amber's restaurant is divine, and the food was amazing.

The rooms were very clean, however we had a disabled room but only shower with no chair in for the disabled person. The staff were very helpful and did get a chair for the shower. Breakfast was well staffed and a good variety of food on offer. Excellent. Bar was well staffed and well maintained with good stock. Bit disappointed that when we paid for the car parking, we was told £8 per day, however it turned out to be £10 per day. When we booked I also booked for a evening meal, which was supposed to get £25 per meal discount. We was told to pay when we checked out. I appears that we did not get the dis out has promised. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to family and friends.

Been there numerous times so familiar surroundings. There no seating outside which puzzles me, no benches, no seating nothing, such a shame as it was a beautiful mild day. Breakfast was ok, some things were dry as we don't do early breakfast so the 9.30 eaters basically get whats there but ok.

We found the room a bit small compared to the two other times we had stayed here . I did request to have either of the two rooms we had stayed in but my request wasn’t implemented as I was told the hotel was full.
Some of the breakfast items was a bit dried out ,( hash browns and black pudding) by the time we came down for breakfast at 9.20am. Breakfast is until 10am but one morning a staff member switched off one of the coffee machines at 9.55am while I was in the queue for coffee, which I thought was a bit rude of him.
There is free parking on the street outside if you can get a space instead of having to pay the hotel parking charges.
Overall it’s a nice hotel to stay in Harrogate within 15 minutes walk into town.

The room I was given was much older than it appeared in the photos. The carpet was not clean, and there was a strong unpleasant smell as soon as I entered the room. The bathtub glass in the bathroom was dirty, with mold covering the edges. The walls in the room were also in poor condition, with peeling paint and visible damage in several areas.

The problem always is its never hot and this hotel was no different. I wonder when hotels realise that bay Marie or similar do not work. The room was fine but don't like the new idea of no clean rooms, now it's just top ups of what you need

Bar had run out of Guinness on Saturday afternoon, with no delivery until Tuesday.
At breakfast they couldn’t cope with the amount of people on this morning. Ran out of pastries.
No body wash in shower. Hotel undertaking an extensive makeover would have been nice to be told this when booking as room smelt heavily of paint.

I have stayed at Cedar Court before and it has generally been fine. This time, however, I booked a Superior room, as usual, but was disappointed to find that the original bathroom (with bath) had been ripped out and replaced by a walk-in shower. I personally prefer a bath, and on enquiring at reception I was told that all the ‘Superior’ rooms have had their baths removed. So if you want a bath, don’t book a ‘Superior’ room. Also, the double bed was strangely uncomfortable, the mattress seemingly not flat and tending to roll us off the sides of the bed. On the positive side, the barman was very helpful!

Staff were welcoming and helpful in every part of the hotel. Our room was spacious, quiet, beautifully clean - and the beds amazingly comfortable. We ate in the bar as the restaurant was already fully-booked, but the food was delicious, beautifully presented, fairly priced & promptly served. Everything great, and the location perfectly central for our visit, right next to the Stray. We will certainly stay again, hopefully. Thank you to all who made us feel so comfortable!

When i checked out at 05.00am (because of the noise) the man at reception actually laughed at my misfortune, How Rude!!
I have been promised my money back and i am still waiting.

For baffling reasons all the three pin plugs are blocked except one by the kettle. There are USB ports but I have a CPAP machine that I need next to my bed.
(also my chargers are USB-C - odd that they are moving to USB as everyone else is moving away)
Frankly very bad design although they did lend me an industrial extension lead.
Also shower head is fixed so does not clean hard to reach places!
I do wonder who designs these rooms!

Comfortable stay overall! Spacious, clean room, comfortable queen size bed. All the necessities provided - kettle, sugar, tea bags, coffee sachets, good size of bath tub with body wash, hair dryer, steam iron and love the size of the telly. We went for the Red Letter days luxurious afternoon tea, we loved it! We will be back for sure.

Staff were lovely, grounds and room were nice and a good location. There were a few things that niggled us, the bathroom door was on a heavy automatic shutter like the main door to the room, which wasn’t practical and was loud. The shower was either scolding hot or freezing. The walls must have been thin as we could hear the people in the next room talking among other things until early hours. We didn’t get much sleep as a result. It’s a nice place and overall wasn’t a bad stay but I don’t think we’d stay again.

The room was clean, well designed and very comfortable. A soap dish would have been useful for the soap that was on offer to use. The heated towel rail is a necessity but not particularly well placed above the toilet (although I could not see another suitable place for it). The hotel was under renovation at the time. The builders were polite and considerate and any noise (not much during our stay) ceased at 5pm, as promised. We had a wonderful time and stayed an extra night on the strength of our fantastic room being available and friendly, helpful staff making it possible. Will definitely stay again.

Room freezing. No heating on. Eventually staff came to put it on. Then it was set at 27° no instructions how to adjust temperature. One bedside light with low light bulb and dark shade was connected to the main light in room so unable to have light on after turning off main light.

Good size room, friendly staff, plenty of parking, good location - easy to find and handy for both town and the football ground that I was going to!

Knocked the mark down a bit because of the bed - not the most comfortable - and a bit of external noise, my room had a sloping roof outside that rain dripped on all night.

But overall, not bad value and comfortable enough.

My floor [2nd] was on a state of disrepair, cold and noisy. I then was woken up at 7.45am by many loud noises and banging by several builders/ workers, with no warning provided by any staff in the hotel! When i mentioned it upon checkout no apologies were given either. Plus had to call 5 times to get my receipt emailed over. Poor

A fantastic hotel, very helpful, friendly staff, who appeared very happy in their roles. We received effective communication via email previous to our stay, swift responses to enquiries, which was very reassuring and informative.
The hotel is in great location. It is within easy walking distance of Harrogate town centre, also on a local bus route.
On site parking at competitive rates.
The rooms were very clean, extremely comfortable. Well positioned lamps, electric sockets and mirrors.
Amazing interior design throughout the hotel. We were especially amused by the photographs of the employees that were hanging in the corridors to the rooms.
The period features and furnishing in restaurant were stunning. Our evening meals were well presented, plentyful and tasty.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying here and will definitely be returning to this hotel in the future.

Very friendly staff, hotel wS beautifully decorated and very seasonal - this was lovely to see. Breakfast was a good quality and the staff were very helpful and professional.
Room was basic, we’ve seen better bathrooms. The shower drain was partially blocked so this caused a back flow of water. The carpet in the room was mildly dirty. However the bed and pillows were comfortable - we slept well.
Overall a good stay, we would return but would choose a room upgrade.

Room wasn't ready, no complimentary coffee, room allocated had an adjoining door which I specifically asked Not to have. Moved to room 333, there were no toiletries, not even hand soap to wash hands after toilet! Room was cold and expel air went on forever! At check-in I was told to enter vehicle details which I did and went to pay and put them in again at the pay point! Paid £14 to park when details specify £8. Reception seemed a bit unorganised. Cleaning staff looked miserable and didn't smile or say hello! Food in restaurant was good and breakfast was nice although no veggie sausages or fat free yoghurt! Porch was littered with cigarette stubbs so you may wish to consider a bin! Staff were slow but mainly purposeful, overall 7 out of 10.
