Lovely hosts, perfect spot, the sound of the surf and a delicious breakfast! We ended up here last minute, and I really wish we could have spent longer enjoying everything about this charming spot. If we are so fortunate to get back to Costa Rica, we will definitely be back.

This small B n B is lovely. Very quiet with wonderful landscaping. Breakfast is included and what a treat. Beautiful fresh fruit plate for each guest with the best scrambled eggs I have ever eaten. Beautiful way to start your day. Spotless every where on this s property. Our only challenge was no A/C in our room the first night which was tough but the next night they provided an extra fan which made it comfortable. Most rooms have A/C. They no longer offer dinner but two minutes up the road is Mar Y Sol restaurant. Doesn’t look like much but wow. I am very fussy and the fresh seared tuna was the most perfectly cooked delicious tuna I had ever had with wonderful mashed potatoes and perfectly cooked veggies. Second dinner was their burger and I have to say again, delicious. Wonderful two days in this area. Beach right across the street for sunset!!!

If you are looking for a quiet, totally uncrowded beach AND pool experience, this is a terrific place. Get a room with A/C. The owners are a charming and welcoming French couple, and the breakfast, while simple, is elegant and satisfying. Far from the maddening crowds and tourism excesses of north and south of Parrita, this is almost entirely unspoiled nature. Dining choices are consequently less abundant.

Not a place for families or singles

This is not a hotel in first place. This is just a bed and breakfast place. They say I booked in the peak season and surprisingly I was the only one in the entire Bed & Breakfast place. It was little creepy. They themselves say they have lot of strict rules which is why very few people come there. No TV in the room. They say not to go into the ocean as its not safe RIP currents. There is no proper walk way from this place to ocean too. There is no proper road to this place and no street lights. If you dont have a vehicle then this is not a place for you. They say its not safe in the night to walk. I dont see a point of booking at this place if there is no entertainment inside the bed and breakfast place and cant go in the ocean and nothing happening next to this place.

Very secluded in a beautiful setting, steps from a beautiful unspoiled beach, surrounded by jungle wildlife, spotlessly clean and well maintained property, awesome owners and staff. They served a great breakfast with a French twist. Need a car for lunch and dinner options as there is only one restaurant within walking distance, a good Costa Rican casual dining place about a km up the road.

Fantastic hotel with wonderful owners

Wonderful small hotel (9 rooms) owned and managed by fun, warm and welcoming couple. The hotel is perfect for people who are looking for peace and quiet ( guest are in their rooms by 10pm) and most of the guest will be tired and ready to bed after the day activities in the sun, by that time. The ocean is across the un paved road in front of the hotel, and its beaches are long as the eyes can see. No umbrellas or beach’s chairs are provided. Bernard is a great chef and he prepared wonderful dinners, and very tasty breakfast for us (only breakfast is included in the price). Bernard and Elizabeth and their staff are hard working people, cleaning and cooking all the time, but still have time to give an advice, talk and get to know their guests. We all loved the stay and we all highly recommending to stay their.

Beso del Viento is a Paradise of Tranquility and Beauty! We spent seven days and Bernard and Elisabeth were the most kind, helpful, and gracious of hosts! The breakfasts and dinners were like an absolute gift from their French kitchen! (well worth the price for dinner. we had three dinners during our stay). The beauty of the gardens and pool outside and the lovely, detailed decor inside made us feel like we were in a dream. Our days were spent enjoying the secluded, black-sand beach, the Pacific waves, driving around town, and exploring National Parks. We left feeling refreshed and hope to visit this special place again!

A perfect spot for a quiet, secluded getaway

This boutique hotel has limited guest rooms for a peaceful, quiet stay about 3 hours southwest of San Jose. The owners are charming and considerate - a French couple conversant in English and Spanish, as well as other languages. Service and cleanliness was impeccable (they iron the sheets!). A delicious breakfast is included with fresh fruit and juices, toast and eggs made to order. The hotel is across the street from a deserted beach, so walk over to enjoy the day on the sand - and don't forget about the spectacular sunsets over the Pacific Ocean! You'll want a car to explore the neighborhood - 30 min to Manuel Antonio National Park and the lively town of Quepos, local restaurants and beaches.

Beso del Viento is not just a quaint, secluded, charming hotel -- it is a treasurable experience. The delightful hosts have created a space where guests can truly relax, absorb nature, and enjoy the hotel's simple yet appealing amenities. We especially liked the open kitchen layout at the heart of the hotel where daily food prep is on view and hosts can be found. It was just so inviting to walk into that space – the smiles, the smells of cooking – and feel connected in a way that is simply missing at larger hotels.

This is a great spot to relax and chill - The food is very good - Breakfast consisted of a beautiful fruit plate, coffee, fresh fruit juice smoothie and bread with butter and jam. Dinner is offered nightly - Reservations required - we had dinner once and it was pleasant. There is a great cantina down the road serving great food as well. Lights out is at 10PM - Gate gets locked so you have to be an adult and back on property - this is more of a B&B experience. Nice pool, great beach only a few feet away and visits from white faced monkeys! The dirt road to get there (4 KM) is a killer! that was my biggest complaint if I had one - the rest was amazing!

We spent only one night at Beso del Viento, but luckily arrived in the afternoon so we could enjoy the pool and the sunset at the ocean, right across the street.
This small hotel is a lovely, peaceful, well-appointed oasis – and a little bit of France – along the coast near Parrita (an unremarkable but useful town, with good food shopping and regular buses to smaller towns and.beaches along the coast). It was a perfect side trip to our longer stay on the beach.
Elisabeth is a wonderful host, as is Bernard, who is also a wonderful cook; if you reserve ahead of time, you can enjoy a very nice French meal, with wine, on the patio at the hotel.
Our room was tastefully decorated, very comfortable, and fully equipped. I highly recommend a stay at Beso del Viento!

Very private and across from the beach. Evryone was very friendly and accommodating. You must have a rental car or take a taxi to go into town as it is very secluded. The only downfall is the gates are locked at 10:00 PM and not opened again until morning so you can not come and go as you can at most places.

A special taste of France brought to Costa Rica

This is a special hotel, which we cannot recommend too highly. The service, ambience and facilities were second to none. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, a taste of France that would please any Francophile. You can ask for a n early sandwich breakfast if you want to set off at 6am to get to the Manual Antonio National Park for the 7am opening, which is a good way to avoid the crowds. The hotel position, less than 100 metres from the Pacific Ocean, but isolated from any tourist hubbub, is excellent. The only noise came from the ocean breakers and the birds. There is a simple but good restaurant and bar within walking distance if you do not want to eat at the hotel in the evening.

Like being a guest in a French mansion or estate

This Hotel came up when I did a search based around Manual Antonio. I discovered after I booked (and went there) it is not close. My mistake. The location is an isolated beach (on a peninsula) with palms that are still harvested in some spots for oil. Forget about dinner the first night because you have to make reservations by 9 am. The French couple that run it are nice but have rules about keys and towels and not being out past ten that some will not like. The lady will have a fit if you break any rules like using a towel on the beach. Once I accepted everything I ended up enjoying a long beach with no one around. A few mosquitoes. The beach has a strange beauty. Its hot in this area and the sun is intense, be careful...I got burned in only an hour, even when I used sunscreen. No TV or radio in rooms. They play a radio loud with traditional rock and soul favorites. I was given a room in the main house and right above the couple's office and TV area. The volume of the music (and in the evening the couple's TV) was not loud enough to bother many but I could here it and it annoyed me a lot. I was only there for a day so I said nothing. Some of you will love the couple and some will not. They try hard to be gracious and the place is kind of cool in a quaint country way. It does have Wifi that worked in my room.

Quiet hotel very close to the beach

The hotel and grounds were beautiful. The food prepared by Chef/owner Bernard was fresh and delicious. Elisabeth (other owner) was very friendly and was like our tour guide, recommending places to visit or to get good food. I've never been to a hotel where you had to turn in your room key every time you left the room, so this is just FYI. Also, the toilet and sink/shower are open to the entire room, so there isn't a lot of privacy if that is of concern to you. All in all I enjoyed my stay here and would recommend for a quiet couples getaway.

The room was very nice, comfortable and spotlessly clean.

Tranquil beach and pleasant hotel

In the middle of nowhere, Parritas, although that's kinda a good thing. If you plan on staying here, don't make my mistake and not make a dinner reservation. That's my only gripe about this place. I didn't know dinner reservations had to be made by 9am that day, and when my girlfriend and I arrived via bus we were flatly informed the kitchen was closed for the night. However, there is a real good soda shop 800 meters away, so we didn't starve. But later on when all the guests arrived, the kitchen was suddenly open. Perhaps there was a language barrier since we were told it was closed for the night, so everyone else was able to eat there. Not us young backpackers though. So don't make my mistake. Have the foresight to make reservations for dinner, before you even arrive. The food looked and smelled fantastic, and the chef has some seriously culinary skills. I know this because the next morning the breakfast was great, and his knife skills were evident with the sliced fruit.
Aside from that debacle, the hotel itself was really nice and comfortable. The beach is located right across the street, and it's pretty much secluded on a rockless beach. The property itself is very nice, and the morning ambience was extremely peaceful and relaxing. The bed and pillows were also really clean and super comfortable. And in hindsight, I wish we could have stayed a few more nights. Just commit to eating dinner there before you arrive!

Nice hotel in quiet beachside setting

The hotel is very quaint and clean. The owners are very considerate of their guests and maintained a quiet, clean atmosphere. We had an air-conditioned room and recommend this as the area is hot and humid. It is close to the beach and about a 20-25 minute drive from Manuel Antonio. The food is excellent, typical French cuisine. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

The pictures are nice, but you should think twice

After checking in we decided not to stay. It quickly became apparent that the hosts feel that they earn their money when a guest books and have little or no further obligations to accommodate their guests.

The proprietors impose a number of unusual rules. They require guests to surrender their room keys before leaving the premises. They lock the gates at 10 pm. They prohibit guests from wearing shoes inside the building and rooms. They have rules about which towels guests may use and where. They will not include a guest in dinner service if the guest does not make a reservation before 9 am and they prohibit picnics (“This is not for camping”). For us, the last straw was this ban on eating our own food.

Clean boutique hotel with top-notch French food

Don't come here for the shopping or the swinging night life; there is none. But if you're looking for a clean, quiet, friendly hotel with excellent food and a beach of almost surreal perfection, this is the place. Dinner is chef's choice -- you can eat what Bernard makes, or not eat it. Happily Bernard's taste is impeccable; everything we had was fantastic. Both Elizabeth and Bernard are friendly and helpful. Elizabeth is fluent in French, English, and Spanish.

Two nights in paradise

I have been to Palo Seco before, but have never stayed at Beso del Viento. It is a beautiful property with a lovely pool and a stones throw to the beach, which is empty most of the time and great for walking, soul searching and beachcombing. It is close to all the areas attractions. The continental breakfast was lovely and started our day off. Staff and owners are very friendly and knowledgable about the area.

Paradise by the Ocean

One of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. You can see ocean thru the trees from your room or patio and hear it all the time. Elisabeth and Bernard are wonderful owners that pay attention to every detail of the place and your stay to make sure it is your very best. They keep the hotel and grounds in perfect shape all the time. The rooms are clean and well maintained. You will love the patio area seating outside for breakfast and dinner. Here is the icing on the cake you get a great French Chef. We recommend you eat at the hotel every night. You will not find better food in the area. Please be sure to arrive during the day and do not drive at night unless you are use to small roads. There are people and cars all over the place. It is pitch black and hard to see at night, no road lines or lights in places. Oh, by the way the side roads are gravel, not paved like the main road. The pedestrian have the right of way all the time and they take it. Remember you are in a third world country but the drinking water sweet. Oh, the mountains are close by but you have to travel by gravel road use a 4x4 vehicle and plan on taking 4 to 6 hours. It is beautiful on top and you can see the ocean.

Escape and Relax

It was such a wonderful time. 9 days at Beso del Viento, and I want to be back there already. I loved the short walk to the beach, my hosts, and the food was amazing I dined in every night. The pool was a perfect place to take a siesta in the afternoon, the sounds of nature put me to bed easily. I loved the no shoe policy, in the guests living quarters (I hate sleeping with sand), the floors are a beautiful wood. The are no TV and no distractions except nature, that is exactly what I needed to get away from a hectic life. The B&B officially closes at 10 for the night, perfect to listen to the rain fall.

Great hotel in quiet location close to the beach.

We were there on a Friday PM/Saturday AM and were the only ones at the hotel. We also had the beach to ourselves both the afternoon we arrived and the next morning. We were situated close enough to the beach that we could hear the surf all night (windows open and AC off). Very gracious hosts, meticulous housekeeping with attention to detail. Since we were the only ones there they did not have an evening meal option available for us to purchase, but they did tell us that if we had called ahead they would have done so (we booked through Expedia so had no direct contact until we arrived.) We went to another hotel further on down the road and had a very good dinner - we were the only ones in the dining area though there were a few people at the bar in the next room. If you are looking for a quiet location that is very well maintained, this is it. The 5km stretch of road leading to this hotel is very rough, part is paved but with many potholes and the rest is rough stones/gravel.

French Getaway on a Costa Rican Beach

Beso Del Viento is beautifully situated just steps from a 12+ km stretch of largely deserted beach. The hotel itself is carefully appointed in a French style, thanks to it's lovely proprietors. They are very proper and give guests attentive care, but are also careful to give guests privacy. The rooms do not all have AC and you will likely want it, unless you are really used to very warm weather for sleeping. the French dinners that they prepare at the on-site restaurant (only serves dinner and the included fruit and toast breakfast) looked wonderful (just not good fare for a vegetarian). I tend to prefer a more casual, homey environment, however if you are looking for something more refined and with a lot of privacy, this is your place!

French Comfort

This hotel is absolutely refreshing after spending plenty of nights in so-called 3-4 star accomodations. The inn is absolutely charming and the rooms are spacious and very very clean! It was the most comfortable bed and PILLOWS we've slept in Costa Rica (the beds and pillows in this country is surprisingly cheap and uncomfortable in this country)!! You are only a few meters away from Playa Seco (brown soft sand) that you can have all to yourself. Though this beach was not my favorite, since I prefer white sand. The city of Parrita does not have much to offer but it's only a 30 minute drive to Quepos/Manuel Antonio where the vibe and beaches are better. The only thing that needs improvement would be their breakfast. Because the owners are French, the breakfast is only some bread & jam, some fruits, smoothie and coffee/tea. the breakfast is quite simple and good though it does not really sustain you for the morning. I was often hungry again by 10am. I wish they would offer some eggs at least. Overall, we were absolutely delighted!! (+ they have a super nice dog named Lola).
