We loved this place, after a lot of stress we wanted to find somewhere special to take our minds off of it all and here was a fantastic find! The spa, staff, food, location absolutely brilliant! Highly recommend and they upgraded us which was a treat (Thank you). It is a really special place and sometimes the deers flock at the front which was very pretty!

We had an excellent stay. Upon arrival we were given a room upgrade so our old dog would feel more comfortable and have less stairs. A real treat - we stayed in the Silke room which had a luxurious large room and bathroom with its own terrace. The spa facilities were excellent. The staff very friendly and attentive but also knew when to give you space for a very relaxing feel. Just what we needed. Will definitely be back! Highly recommend!

The staff were perfect; so lovely and friendly. The food and drinks were incredible. But...the building is tired. The decor needs a revamp and the fixtures and fittings are in need of modernising. It's a real shame, because the staff are doing so much right, but the building itself needs a lot of investment.

Good for small kids but needs work

This hotel is in an amazing location and has great grounds and facilities, but is let down by a couple of factors:

- It’s a family hotel which has as a main selling point free childcare. This childcare wasn’t available when we checked in. It seems this is pretty regular. The childcare facility doesn’t have enough staff to cope with demand. As we went there as a family and wanted some time, this was key. We were eventually given some childcare, not at the time we wanted though, because of a cancellation. If you are going for the childcare BOOK IT AT THE SAME TIME AS THE ROOM. Same goes for the spa. Not enough staff, so no availability at all.

- The hotel itself is tired. It needs a revamp. Loose fixtures and fittings, tired decor. An overhaul is needed if it wants to call itself a luxury hotel.

However, I would recommend for families with small children as the whole thing is set up for them. Just book everything in advance.

As it was the only room left on the day of our trip we booked the smallest room the hotel had to offer.
The room was indeed small but made even smaller with a large air con unit in it. The room did need air con but a smaller version would have been better.
We found our bed uncomfortable and so springy that if one of us moved so did the other.
The kettle in the room was a little temperamental as it didn’t always boil. Our room also lacked white sugar and I’m sure if we had asked the staff would have got us some but we didn’t realise until we got back from our night out.
Not sure if the tv should have had a remote but ours didn’t.
The hotel it’s self was lovely and the facilities excellent, ruined only by ignorant guest reserving sun beds by the pool and being nowhere in sight.
Breakfast was excellent and all the staff were friendly and helpful.

Outside/inside pools were good.
Hotel carpet needed hoovering although room was clean and bed was comfortable.
Breakfast was good but service a bit slow and tables were left cluttered and messy for a long time after diners had left.
The main problem was that the hot/cold indicators were missing/had fallen off of the shower which meant that I scalded my hand testing which was which - the water was VERY hot and if it had been a child or elderly person it would have been very dangerous. It was reported to reception who said they would ask a maintenance person to gave a look.

Family friendly hotel

A fabulous family friendly hotel with something for everyone. As soon as we arrived we felt welcomed, the lady who greeted us couldn’t have been more helpful. We have two children under 10, they both had plenty to do with outdoor space featuring climbing facilities, a football goal, along with other outdoor activities. The kids cinema/play room is a master stroke, connecting to the children's restaurant which allowed children to eat first before we adults had our own time to relax and eat whilst the children played. The hotel grounds are picturesque and the spa/swimming pool overlooking the paddocks is simply stunning. To top it off we discovered this hotel is part of a chain with others alike around the country. Highly recommended.

Lovely hotel. Excellent staff. Room and bathroom was quite large and facilities in general were in good order - spa very nice and clean.

Restaurant food and drinks in particular felt over priced unfortunately. Very good again but really not worth the money - my recommendation would be to take a short walk to Brockenhurst for some excellent venues (unless it is chucking it down)!

A lovely hotel for a couples weekend getaway with the dogs. Set in lovely grounds and near the quaint Brockenhurst village with Ponies and Donkeys roaming freely. Spa facilities are good. Breakfast could have been better, very basic but can have what you want.

What an amazing find! Tucked away half a mile off the road between Brockenhurst and Lyndhurst, this hotel offered the perfect retreat for a couple of days. Fabulous spa, and 25m pool which I had to myself for a while in the morning. Sunbathed in the hot tub on the deck. Bliss!

The rooms are a little tired with water stains on ceiling, but the attention to other details like toys in the room. Biscuits being left for my child is excellent. All staff are so friendly. The Den is amazing and the food is yummy. I’ve stayed four times in the last 2 years and would not stay anywhere else now.

Good hotel, but not for couples

Lovely place, but couples be aware; way too many screaming children all over the place. This is classified as a “family” hotel, but should really be classified as a childrens playground. If you are a couple, avoid this hotel at all cost. Hotel is lovely though.

It’s very relaxing, brilliant for children and the staff are wonderful. It’s a little lived in, in some areas, but I don’t think it matters to the overall experience. The location is brilliant and the kids loved it. The kids restaurant is great and the food was good.

Gorgeous hotel, lovely grounds and the spa is lovely. The addition of an outdoor jacuzzi overlooking the forest is an extra perk.

Pros:
- Spa treatment (full body massage) was really good. - The treatment rooms are relaxing.
- They have loads of different drinks on offer and lovely loose leaf tea.
- The food was lovely
- Really nice outdoor area with loungers
- Trampoline outside for kids and a wooden climbing frame area
- They have a cinema room for kids and had a treasure hunt activity on
- Waiters at dinner were really warm and helpful
- Our room was lovely and the bed was super comfy
- Reception were really friendly and helpful
- Really good selection of food at breakfast

Cons:
- We arrived at 11:30 and wanted a snack before our treatment at 12:30 and all they had was vegetable crisps. Definitely would have been nice if they had some more snacky foods available.
- There were quite a few wasps in the area we were seated in for lunch.
- There was confusion between different staff about the food that was being served ie. we were told lunch food was available by one waiter but then another said it was not.
- There was no one at the spa reception desk for maybe 10 or 15 minutes so we were nearly late for our treatments. We were not told where to wait or if someone would come and get us and we had to ask for gowns and flip flops.
- No hot chocolate sachets in the room and only one type of biscuit.
- Eggs at breakfast were burnt and a strange texture

We had a lovely stay here. The staff were super friendly and helpful, I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. If you have dogs or kids for that matter, this place is perfect. It's not restrictive and there's plenty of activities on site. The food was also very good. We had a very pleasant stay indeed.

Large dining room. Not sure why therefiore we were asked to have breakfast in a lounge at ciffee tables. Bad for my back.
Lovely lookin bedroom but snall and crampt due to sloping roof. Ensuite had sloping roof over toilet and over bath so not possible to shower .

We booked this hotel for the weekend as we had just got married so we wanted some time away in a nice quiet spa hotel to relax and wind down. Well first of all we got there at 7pm and was very hungry so we went down to have some dinner which was an absolute joke, as we were tired from driving 3 hours we thought we’d have an early night, my husband and I were up all night as it was so noisy and creepy you could hear everything from someone walking, opening doors, the staff talking downstairs, just everything I didn’t even blink! In the morning we went downstairs for breakfast and that was raw uncooked and we did not eat it. In the end we ended up getting our second night refund and we left and had to drive back for another 3 hours tired as of not sleeping! My wedding weekend was ruined and the staff did not care at all they seemed very careless and did not want to help. Expedia has to get my refund for me. Absolute joke avoid this hotel!!!

We liked the quiet location and Nicholas the manager was helpful in changing our room.Ask for a room not on the top floor!

The property, as advertised is excellent for families. There appeared to be loads of activities and options to keep little ones entertained.
I wouldn’t recommend for couples without children or dogs.

The hotel is set in a lovely area and could be great.
For me I was really looking forward to relaxing in the spa. The entrance was nice but when you get through I felt the spa facilities were tired. You could do with a deep clean and refresh/repair some of the tiling. The jacuzzi outside was really small - 4 adults felt a bit of a squeeze which was a shame as it was lovely to be outside and had a fab view.

We didn’t eat in the restaurant. Although the food looked nice I felt it was a tad overpriced compared to other eateries in the areas.

Lovely hotel in its own grounds. I got upgraded to a fabulous room which was a real bonus. Both the receptionist and room service lady were really friendly, as was the leisure suite receptionist. The swimming pool was lovely and very relaxing to swim in, with its colour changing Breakfast was ok, but I was a bit disappointed that I couldn’t get an omelette. However overall I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely return.

Unfortunately 2 days wasn't enough to fully appreciate the hotel and fit in everything else in the area. The spa facilities were excellent highly recomend booking treatments in advance. The hotel staff were so friendly and there was nothing that was ever too much trouble. The room was very spacious and extremely comfortable. Children are highly welcomed and looked after here, which i have never experienced before. If you need to fill the car with petrol make sure you do it in the day time as most places shut early in the evening! Will definatly return .😁

Very tired hotel, but good location

The first room they gave us was in definite need of updating, it had peeling paint on most of the wood work and piles of bird poo on every window ledge. Very tired looking. We changed rooms to still find bird poo on the window ledge, but less paint peeling of the woodwork. However, we then discovered that what was meant to be a double bed was 2 single beds pushed together that not only were different heights, but had one very old mattress and one newer one. It was very uncomfortable. Although we told reception about this, nothing was done. Also when we had a shower the temperature Gage on it was broken so the water was scalding hot. Very dangerous. Again we told reception, but again nothing was done. Also on the first night we arrived back at the hotel at 10.30 to have a night cap and was told that everything was shut, we said we only wanted 1 drink and could put it on our room, but no joy!. Next day when I questioned this with reception they said 'well madam most people go to bed at 8.30 as they have kids'.
If they are only going to cater for people with families, then I think this need to be clearly stated in there advertising. Especially as the hotel is not cheap to stay in.

The staff cannot be faulted for their pleasant and helpfulness but there aren't enough of them which made check in and dinner service rather slow. This aside, the location is stunning. The building is beautiful and very very comfortable. I would definitely return and was sad to leave.

Amazing hotel, perfect set up for children. Only downfall is the food and drink service so slow. The staff are lovely and there appears to be enough of them , but they just don’t seem to be able work efficiently. The front and house and play den service was fantastic and the hotel and facilities are great. Definitely recommend as hopefully the service was down to new staff and we still had a great time.

The hotel has got its identity confused. In our opinion it can’t be luxury at the same time as being family. The drinks are far too overpriced being £9 a pint of larger or glass of wine especially when it’s not served from a proper bar just a cupboard in the corner of the room. eatting breakfast in the lounge isn’t idea as you can’t eat a full English from a low table comfortably. The menu during the evening meal was not explained to us and we ended up paying £28 each for a fatty steak. There was no choice on the menu 2 fish dishes (don’t like fish) 2 pork dishes (we don’t eat pork) one vegetarian and one steak. There should not be an interconnecting door in the bathroom this we felt was not suitable. There is no signage on the main drive to point out the reception area.

Brockenhurst delight of a hotel

Just fabulous location and ground...all details tweaked to aim for the best experience possible for the family.....only annoyance was the kettle could not be plugged in where it was , but had to be moved to coffee table inside bedroom which could have been dangerous with small children....but the food, service, staff we're second to none... will definitely be choosing this brand for the south west of the country ...very happy!

We loved to stay here and we are looking forward to staying in the future. One thing that the temperature in the room was too high that my baby was a bit to warm to sleep in.

Lovely family hotel. Brilliant facilities for children such as the crèche which even our 4 year old throughly enjoyed and the top quality baby monitors. Crèche staff friendly and professional. Pool maintained to a good standard. I enjoyed a deep tissue massage at the spa but be aware you need to book treatments well in advance of your stay.
Breakfast and lunch excellent. Evening meal ok - we thought quite pricey for the standard of the meal.
Weather very wet during our stay so we weren’t able to enjoy the outside space but this looks lovely with lots of play areas for kids.
Highly recommended hotel for couples with young children.

A relax3d family break.

We had a good stay, the staff are ALL friendly and accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. Perfect for a family with a 3yo & 9mth old as menu was great. Plenty of stuff to play with indoors and out and creche staff were so sweet. We felt completely at home and relaxed despite the 3 am fire alarm !!
I would highly recommend it for family's and would definitely come again.

Great Family and Luxury Hotel

We had a great weekend stay with the husband and 2yo. The staff were very helpful with kids needs, they have play equipment for different ages, kids books and games scattered in the public areas and an indoor pool for swimming. The hotel itself is very beautiful and the room was lovely and spacious. All in all a lovely weekend away! Great family-friendly and luxury hotel for relaxing!

Swimming pool very clean and water temperature just right. Hot tub was fun - even in January. Unfortunately we couldn't get appointments for other Spa treatments so would advise to book these before arrival.

We stayed here with our 2 daughters aged 3 months / 3 years. They have thought of everything you could possibly need when travelling with children which made the stay really relaxing and enjoyable for us all!
