We had a wonderful experience at The Mortimer’s Arms. If you are visiting Paultons Park/Peppa Pig World, the location is unbeatable (within walking distance).
The hotel is exceptionally dog-friendly. They provided a water bowl, treats, and a toy for our dog, which was such a lovely gesture. The rooms are spacious and high-end; we easily fit a large dog crate in the room with plenty of floor space to spare.
The complimentary breakfast was high quality and delicious. I also appreciated the unlimited hot drinks and water, it’s those small details that make a stay feel special. We'll definitely be back.

the room was supposed to be a superior room. 1 of the shower taps was broken. the mirror light in the bathroom didn't work. there were finger or toenail cuttings in the floor in the bathroom.

Had they read my request for a downstairs room this would not have happed. Everything was great. Right from parking in the spacious car park to the welcome within. Room was spotless & comfortable. My dog was with me & made welcome too. He was even provided with pack of goodies and dog toys. Above and beyond. The evening meals were also delicious, with lovely presentation. Staff were all so kind and friendly. Great spot for access to the New Forest. Will definitely stay again.

We had an amazing time at the Mortimer Arms and cannot recommend highly enough. It is ideally situated to explore both the New Forest and Portsmouth area and not only comfortable but also great value for money.
The property is being updated by its new owner Michael and judging by what has been done so far we've no doubt all will be very impressive once completed. Whilst improvements are ongoing we were totally unaware of anything being done during our stay.
The decor in the restaurant was very tastefully done and our room was stunning (they have a great eye for detail) and immaculately clean.
The food was varied and to a high standard. We stayed 4 nights and had all our meals there and enjoyed every dish.
The restaurant can get busy, particulary when the nearby Paultons Park closes and this understandably can impact a little on service time but did not have a huge impact on us and the restaurant was considerably quieter after 7pm.
Michael and all his staff are wonderful, very attentive, helpful and friendly and we can't thank them enough.We would however like to give a special mention to Adam who couldn't do enough for us and to Megan for her attention on the Monday evening.

When arrived and give room 14, nice size room and clean. Went to bed not to late after nice meal in restaurant (little expensive) Then the troubles start, room above staff quarters- none stop walking around, shower, toilet being flushed and these noises from above. Finally fell asleep only to be woken up at 5:30am with same. Not a good sleep experience!!!

Great position for exploring Paultons theme park & the New Forest. Our children & grandchildren stayed in Paultons campsite which was a few minutes away so really handy. They all visited the hotel for a couple of meals & drinks. The staff were all very friendly & welcoming.

Great little hotel and pub. We stayed as a family of 3 for 3 nights. Rooms were large, comfortable and well maintained. Staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast really set us up for the day each morning.

The hotel is very clean and perfect for families. The brought pull out beds for the kids and gave them crayons and pictures to colour which calmed them down. There is WiFi but you have to ask for the code and the food is great.

Went to Paultons Park for the day and stayed at the Mortimer Arms! Perfect location literally can walk out of the park to the hotel. Plenty of on-site parking. Staff really lovely. Had dinner and breakfast. Both were really lovely food, service at dinner wasn’t great as they were short staffed. But other than that we had a really lovely stay and will be returning next year when we go back to Paultons Park.

Overall this was a very good stay, it would have been excellent except for two things.
Firstly the really good , and that is the staff, from the first welcome to when we left everyone was pleasant, and easy to speak too, especially the staff in the restaurant, nothing was too much trouble. Well done all of you !

It could be cured with a soft close option being fitted ( they are fire doors and need to close).
The other thing was the tap on the sink was very loose, I reported it straight away and was told it would be fixed, three days on and it wasn’t, on leaving I reminded them again, it will end in a leak if not serviced.

The room was clean and comfortable with the odd squeaky floorboard you'd expect from an old building. The staff were really friendly an always eager to help. The food though is excellent. The breakfasts are consistently fantastic and the three times we ate in the evenings were of equal quality. I highly recommend this place and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Stayed for one night after visiting peppa pig world. Only 2 mins drive away from the park. Got there for dinner time and the food was lovely, lots of choices but abit different than your usual pub food, more interesting. Room was lovely, king sized bed and a little bed for our 3 year old. Lovely big shower. Quiet. Room abit warm but there was a fan and we'd opened the windows but it had been a warm day. Breakfast included and lots of options including veggie and vegan!

A super suite and given Covid restrictions the facilities were good. Although there was a small problem with our room heating on arrival, all was fixed and we were toastie for the rest of our stay. Staff are super helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We ate in the restaurant and had breakfast every every morning - there is so much choice and everything is really good!

Be careful, our room stank of fowl drains for the entire stay. However, the bar and restaurant in the hotel itself is warm cosy and comfortable. the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Plenty of parking and easy to get to. The food was fantastic, however the food and drinks are over priced and expensive. The rooms are sparse and modern and not really in-keeping with the main parts of the hotel. The rooms are minimalist and appear to be designed with minimal cleaning in mind rather than guest comfort. I had a 'suite' Room 10 and there wasn't even a full length mirror. The floors are laminate which looks cheap and the walls are paper thin so we could hear next door's every movement and word. The worst issue was the disgusting smell from the drains. They offered a feeble excuse and I had to ask for an air freshener. There was no mention of an option to change rooms and no mention of any compensation for having to put up with the disgusting smell overnight. They did however offer to give us the room for half price on our first night's stay of any future stay. which basically means they expect me to pay half price for a room that smells disgusting. I don't think so! Shame though, as otherwise would have stayed again. Although its a short drive from the forest itself and therefore not ideally located for a forest walk in the morning.

The Mortimer Arms is a wonderful place to stay. The service was impeccable, the room quiet, clean, comfortable, great bed, and even included a fan.
We were famished so we ate dinner outside. Fabulous food and drink. Delicious Fish & Chips and Nachos. For breakfast we had a \"Proper English Breakfast\" and it was great!

I was there for Paultons Park (Peppa Pig World) for my little one and it was bang on right outside the entrance! Which made it so convenient to get there and back.
The room was very stylish and nice with a flatscreen TV, Netflix, etc... with coffee in rooms.
The service was amazing! Frank (Franc) was super helpful. There was a misunderstanding with Hotels.com and he resolved everything and made things happen. The food was really nice too.
