Quick, effective checkin. All interactions with staff were positive, professional and friendly, they were all very able in doing their jobs. The only thing that lets the hotel down is that it may need updated, but that said everything works well, is clean and tidy.

The hotel appeared clean but there was a musty smell throughout the hotel that smelled like they are putting febreeze over it so it was kind of a weird smell. Our air conditioning didn't work and we called the front desk 3 times and it was never fixed, nobody contacted us about it, and our windows wouldn't open. It was hot and musty and we all slept with no covers on because it was so hot in our room. The pillows and bedding felt cheap. The pillows were flat and hard, no fluff left in them at all. However, the plus side of things, it has a bar and you can get room service, there was a nice restaurant inside, and it was almost right next door to the mall which is very walkable so there are a number of food and beverage options. The staff was nice and very helpful. The only issue with the staff was that nothing was done about the ac situation.

I booked a night here before my cruise and everything was swonderful. My room was large and clean. The pub had wonderful staff and I enjoyed having a pint of beer on their deck. I ate supper at Marco Pierre and enjoyed a wonderful buffet breakfast in the same area the next morning. The concierge here were outstanding! They are always visible, will store your luggage and even arrange taxi transfer to the cruise port. Very organized, and safe feeling - especially for a solo woman traveler.

This was booked for a night before the Take That concert. Although it was booked a very long time ago it was very expensive, £367. We expected a high standard hotel. The bedroom was large but on the shabby side as was the bathroom. The table was marked as was the dressing table. There was a well used looking Nepresso with only 1 pod of each of coffee so we both couldn't have decaf.
The beds were very comfortable with 3 different types of firmness of pillow, which was appreciated
The breakfast options were plentiful but the cooked breakfast items were only luke warm and there wasn't any gluten free bread available.
Would I stay there again? Probably not as there are many hotels nearby that are a higher standard for less money.

Hotel staff and concierge were great. Breakfast was excellent for a buffet. The restaurant and pub seemed to have staffing problems and were not attentive. The facility is showing it's age, however. Still, it was convenient to the mall for shopping. A little to far to walk to the Horizon cruise terminal with any luggage, but the concierge hooked us up with a taxi.

Unfortunately the air conditioning was set at 19 degrees and guests are not given the option to adjust it. As a result the room was far too hot to sleep comfortably. Also the fire alarm went off twice on the first night so overall had no sleep for the 2 nights we were there.
Room ok if a bit tired. Bathroom ok but shower head was covered in mould so not very appealing

Its a nice hotel generally. The staff are very slow.. like painfully at times!

We were there for the take that concert and they were doing free welcome drinks etc and we had a bottle of wine in our room too. Although the fact they had put the prices of rooms up by over £200 a night, it's really the least that they could do!

We got an earlier check in after upgrading our room and Emily on reception was so lovely. Really great hotel. Food was lovely ( ordered room service and was great service). Lots of choice for breakfast. The lovely older chap in the bar area (sorry didn’t get his name) was so nice to talk to too and all in all a great stay in a very friendly hitle

The room was dusty and the cupboard area is very dated and in poor condition. The bathroom was very poor - useless shower with no power to the spray, dirty grout on tiles. Generally poor maintenance and cou la d do with a complete refurbishment.

Property was a bit aged but close to the area shopping mall. Location is OK considering going onto a cruise then next day.

We have stayed at Leonardo twice waiting for cruises to come into Port so it is very convenient, however during both stays we were shoveled around to different rooms due to one problem or another. The hotel, no matter how convenient to the port will no longer be our hotel of choice when in Southampton. The maintenance has been deferred too long and the bathrooms are unfriendly to older people. Getting in and out of the bathtub is difficult and dangerous. Their staff is great, breakfast tasty, but the hotel has seen its better days.

I wanted to stay here because of the unusual appearance of the hotel. I paid a bit extra for a balcony room which turned out to be in the 4th floor on the side of the building with a view of the harbour. The room was huge and spotless.

I was out for meals so I didn't try the restaurant.

There were several lifts but the one nearest my room was glass and was inside the glass triangle. Riding in it was an experience in itself!

Fantastic hotel for a low price.
My son & 1 had a Sunday night stay meaning we got the price really cheap. We used the gowns & slippers, the pool, breakfast & parking.
Location is perfect as it’s walkable to the main town & right on the coast.

The food in the hotel is pricey but there are plenty of eateries nearby. We did have room service and the burger and cheese plate was very good. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room comfortable and quiet. We were close to the lifts so did hear people chatting as they were waiting but it wasn’t too intrusive.

Having stayed here multiple times we expected the usual high standards. We particularly visit for pool amenities so were very let down to find the jacuzzi empty and out of order at the poolside. Most disappointing that no one at either reception of the hotel or of the pool had let us know before hand.

Egg Omlette Recipe. Etc; Because 2 fried eggs
stuck together is NOT an Omlette.
3. STOP Over-Pricing basic Brand Bottles of
Wine.
4. A Concierge does not have the role of a

That's a family friendly hotel in an easy access location. Staff is very helpful. The manager, Jimmy, helped us settle down quickly. They also provide good quality room service with limited choices. The spa and pool is a bit small but that's clean and warm.

Overall good experience. Room interior was good. But it was a king superior which while the room was a good space when you opened the window we looked directly at a restaurant vent (assume) and the other window beside it was a bird crap covered structure that had about t years of dirt on it. I'm not asking for a view of the palace when the word superior is used in the description but that was the most disheartening experience of a room I've ever had. It should be a closet.

Pubic hair in shower otherwise room clean. A good view for a cheaper room. Very spacious room with nice furniture. Jacuzzi not working, stairs to pool feel dangerous. Bar was a nice area in evening for a drink or two. Breakfast had a lot of choice but hot food was almost cold which was a shame, buffets need refreshing. Roast potatoes in breakfast? If you remove the American hash browns from the English breakfast at least put bubble and squeak on. All staff interactions were great.

Buse at the front desk was just exceptional! She handled some minor issues with such speed and efficiency, she is truly an asset to this company.
The daily breakfast is outstanding in quality, service and variety.
The pool is truly an added bonus being warm , large and having a hot tub. Even though I was not able to use the gym area it looked great!
I highly recommend a stay at The Leonardo not only for its appeal but for the ease of walk ability to anything you may need or want.
Also main train station about 10 min walk.

Had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is very clean (a little bit dated in places) and I had a wonderful time. Customer service was more than excellent. The staff were friendly and the room was spacious. There were a lot of things that detracted from the experience though: lifts not working, power sockets broken, heated towel rail permanently off, people playing in the pool with balls (despite this being prohibited), broken lockers… it sadly made an otherwise good experience frustrating. Not what I would have expected for the price paid.

I was apprehensive after reading some reviews, but once at the hotel I was extremely pleasantly surprised. The staff were ALL very friendly, my room was wonderful (I stayed in room 402). The pool was a lovely temperature, a very enjoyable experience. The hot tub was super hot, sauna was great.. unfortunately the wet sauna was out of order. Breakfast was fabulous! I ordered an omelette, which was made to order, it tasted delicious! I had a great stay and would be very happy to return!

Hotel is a bit tired. One lift out of order made the other two very busy at times. In our room, the light when you entered the room wasn't working and no matter what we did with the heating controls the room never seemed to warm up. The shower control was very stiff to turn off. Lots of mould around the window reveals. In the glazed area where the bar was, you can see where some panes have leaked and there is corrosion and paint peeling. Staff were friendly.

Lovely atmosphere in the hotel. Very comfortable beds. Generally a lovely stay with great choice at breakfast. My only criticism is that the drinks at the bar are a little on the pricey even for a four star hotel. But still enjoyed the lovely deco and would recommend this hotel.

My room was way too hot. The curtains had been left open all day before my check in with the sun directly beaming into the room.
Front desk agreed to get maintenance to to switch on the A/C. But they didn’t bother.
The temperature was unbearable
The stench of drains around the lobby was awful
Staff unable to pre-with my cars for use in the restaurants.
I won’t stay here again

Lovely room, but the view of the port was spoiled by the windows being desperate in need of cleaning, which I understand probably isnt easy with the building shape and glazing. Bar and restaurant area was really nice, dinner was nice, breakfast was just ok. I wanted to use the pool but it was off during our stay and the gym was tierd. But as we was only there a couple of nights, pre cruise, it was fine. We would choose again, but possibly not bother with a port view room upgrade unless windows were sorted.
