The Southampton Voco is conveniently located close to the cruise port, shopping areas, and several scenic attractions in Southampton. Although the hotel is busy, the staff are always available, friendly, and happy to answer questions or provide assistance.

The breakfast buffet is excellent, offering a great selection of options to start the day. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and the beds are very comfortable, ensuring a relaxing stay.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Southampton, whether for a cruise departure or a city getaway.

The first problem was that we only had bath towels in the room and no others, but when we asked they brought them up. Then when we opened the sheets to get into bed, one side of the bed was dirty. The food in the restaurant was very good and they offered ice water anytime you wanted it. It was a great hotel to use for getting onto a cruise.

Breakfast was buffet with a few options but staff slow to refill when food ran out.
No shower cap, vanity kit, etc in rooms. I hate using soap gel and the perfume was overpowering.
Check in was a little stressful as staff were busy and not very attentive to our needs. We are also loyalty members and staff didn’t bother asking us until I pointed it out and then staff member said we’re not in system so we showed her our member number and tier… in other IHG hotels we are always welcomed with wine, fruit, etc, nothing here at Voco. Only plus was that this hotel was very close to cruise terminal but would prefer somewhere else next time.

I thought our stay was nice however our bathroom since did not drain at all. So washing our hands and brushing our teeth was difficult. I didn't want the sink to overflow.

Room on top floor clan and tidy, complementary bottle of water, tea, coffee etc.
Plenty of parking outside no issues registering the details
Lovely friendly staff on front reception especially Carly, great evening meal recommendations.
Would have been nice to be able to order a cocktail when we got back from our event but they stopped at 11pm
Loved the allergen card in the restaurant for the evening meal. Would have been nice to have the allergen information for breakfast ( it’s a medical condition not a choice for me )

The room was nice, the bathroom was tiny, but clean. Barely enough room for once person.

Good tea and coffee facilities.

The room was not good value due to the inflated price as it was a Take That concert, but overall it was a nice hotel.

It was an easy 30 minutes walk to the St. Mary’s Stadium for the concert. The carpark at the hotel was good, £20 for 24 hours, which was ok.

We stayed the night before our cruise. Location was convenient to the port and the entire hotel staff was outstanding. Communication was helpful prior to our arrival with the Heathrow transportation options as well as suggesting their on-site restaurant which was very good. I would definitely return to this hotel when visiting Southampton.

The hotel itself looks very smart and modern but it’s the attention to detail that lets it down. The room looked lovely and clean but the photo frames, lamp shades etc were full of dust. Also the beds are very firm, both of us came away with sore backs this morning. Nice looking hotel but would not stay again.

Great location for catching cruise departures at City Centre and Horizon terminals. Sue at check-in was very professional and courteous. Only issue was trying to figure out how the heating in the room is designed…but, it was easily sorted with a call.

We didn’t give the hotel an excellent because the elevators were awfully slow. Yes, we were boarding a ship so were all the other guests at the hotel.
Otherwise a beautiful hotel. One of the best breakfasts we’ve experienced!! Much variety of breakfast items, and all were delicious!!

The hotel is in a good location to walk around. Room was spacious with a king bed & two chairs with a small fridge. You do pay for parking a car but had a lot of room. Good options for breakfast.

One of the best hotels we’ve stayed in, in Southampton. Very smart comfortable room, bed and bathroom. If I had to fault it at all, it would be the 6 capacity lifts that quite often won’t take more than 3 reasonable sized people. And one of those lifts not servicing the ground floor.

This hotel is located near the cruise terminal. It was very clean and welcoming, it has a nice restaurant and was good to have a nice spot after traveling 24 hours to LHR then Southampton. It’s near the cruise terminal but you CANNOT walk there, you need a cab. Also the elevators are very small so it’s a bit of a wait to get down the elevator and get in the line for cabs. We had to hoist our luggage down 2 flights of stairs. But other than that, we recommend it.

We loved this hotel. Our room was beautiful. The bed was so comfortable. We had a sea view. We saw our ship from our window, which was perfect. The bathroom was smart and very clean. The staff were very welcoming. Had a sandwich in the restaraunt. The best sandwich I've ever had. Parking was easy. All in all it was absolutely perfect and we would highly recommend. We will definately be back on our next cruise.

Had arranged for the hotel to have a taxi for us in the morning. Was waiting for taxi 1/2 hour past the time pickup was arranged. Spoke to taxi service and found out no reservation was made for us. Hotel dropped the ball big time. Not happy at all.

Check in process poor, greeted by 3 staff staring at us none of whom spoke to say hello when we entered. Check in process very long delayed by user login issues. Went to room and keys didn’t work, returned to reception and waited again to be told had been given keys to incorrect room. Had booked king room on the basis that website showed there would be a walk in shower. We had shower over bath which we couldn’t use as there are no grab rails. Didn’t book breakfast and was told if we decided in morning it would cost an extra £5 each which is unreasonable when you don’t know if you will want breakfast until the morning. Felt forced into paying upsell for breakfast at check-in which we declined. Parking charge is high for overnight guests don’t be greedy Voco!

Lovely hotel and reception staff polite and helpful. Overnight parking being £20 is too much and puts me off staying again. Another minus was the room was very warm but the air con is disabled so you can't even use it! Expedia lists air con as an amenity so guests should be able to use what they're paying for. Didn't get a good night's sleep as a result.

Stayed for one night to celebrate my partners birthday and was completely blown away by the whole experience.

The bar and restaurant is stunning, room incredibly clean - not a fault in sight.

The staff were so welcoming and friendly, we got an early check in and the staff were kind enough to do something really special for my partners birthday - thank you all so much for the gesture.

We both felt so relaxed during our stay here.

Breakfast was really lovely, a wide choice of continental and full breakfast buffet that you can help yourself to.

I cant wait to stay here again.

A massive credit to the team for their hard work and customer service. So appreciated.

Room was excellent, floor to ceiling windows, a streaming TV, and a bed as comfortable as a cloud. However, the lady on breakfast was quite rude, and breakfast was a huge disappointment. I was there for half 6 and the eggs were hard, bacon overdone and juices were either not shaken properly or watered down. A great stay, but let down by a poor breakfast experience.

The hotel was lovely! The staff were nice and accommodating. The bed was fantastic. The only thing that annoyed me was having to pay £20 parking when there were plenty of spaces out the back. I was one of three cars parked all night and the car park itself could hold about 20 cars. Other than that.. cracking hotel!

Amazing room which was upgraded for my husband's birthday, a lovely touch with a birthday card and fudge. Jose was our reception staff and he was so welcoming and friendly. The bar staff were equally as friendly. An all together brilliant experience and atmosphere. We will be back! :)

Absolutely amazing staff throughout, welcoming and couldn't do enough.
Food was delicious in the evening but the choice wasn't great and although delicious the price was way too steep for what you get and the steak was ruined as it was way too fatty and inedible in places.
The hotel throughout was really lovely, decorated to a high standard and sets a lovely relaxed atmosphere.
Rooms in general ok but were a bit of a letdown as not as clean as we'd expect for the money paid. Seals around shower doors are discoloured with lots of scale. There was some sort of dried in bodily fluid on the bed base and the general cleaning wasn't great with dust in places and muck in the bedside draws.

Had an early arrival spotless room overlooking Fred Olsen's Balmoral. Walked right on through the gate right to the ship. Staff was great and we had excellent Fish Pie and Monkfish Scampi as well as two night's complimentary breakfasts. Would come again often and days early before a cruise!

First impressions are vital with new customers like we were. Jose welcomed us at reception and was absolutely amazing. Not only did we get to check in early but he also gave us a room upgrade after we signed up to be a member. All of the staff were amazing the room was perfect and we also had food and cocktails in Atlantic gate which was also faultless.

Great change - we hadn’t appreciated the move straight away from the old Holiday Inn as we had booked for convenience. Initially we were concerned as we waited in line as the check in was taking time. It became very clear and apparent why when it was our turn. You are treated from the start like the only customer in the room by José a fantastic FOH gentlemen who oozes real true down to earth customer care - as if it was his own hotel. Checking what you have booked and then allocating that as best he can to fit the hotels best room. We were only one night. “Tonight, we have space it’s unusually quite. Would you like a view of the city?”, “Yes please” is out reply, “Let see how high we can go to give you the best view”. It made all the difference. We booked in for Breakfast which we hadn’t originally done, this was relaxed and exceptional quality with a very varied selection. We got back earlier than planned from our night to take night class from a closed off bar but nothing was too much trouble to take to our room. The room that was spacious l, clean and well maintained. A booking of convenience was converted to a booking of choice for the future. This is highly recommended. Thankyou for the complimentary parking that was an unexpected added bonus.
