The room was very nice and it was big enough to fit an extra bed for our daughter. The only aspect which prevented 5 stars was that the windows are not sound proof and so there was constant traffic noise from the adjacent motorway. Shane.

Only thing i dont like was the check in , i understand the check in time is 3pm, but hopefully your staff will give consideration, we arrived in the hotel at 2:30pm after a long drive but when i checked in they told us to wait till 3pm for check in, just 30 mins early but they dont bother to give consideration esp we are tired from long drive, its not helpful for the guest.

Great stay overall. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and spacious; although it was a little cold, this was likely due to the time of year. The rainfall shower was excellent, with fantastic water pressure. Breakfast was fresh and well prepared, with a good selection that offered just the right amount of choice.

Dowels were out of the wall in the room toilet. Staff dropped the table cleaning cloth on the floor and then used it again. 3rd bed for our child: the mattress was so old that she could not sleep. We slept as it was only for coule of nights. In general, the hotel is in poor condition. Carpets really dirty. Not enough staff, tables in the lobby were left with glasses and diahes for a long time.

The hotel itself is very lovely. Clean, neat and aesthetically pleasing.
The rooms are spotless and cosy.
For me, the bed was a bit too hard. Also, the duvet wasn’t thick enough but the cushions were plush and lovely.
I found it hard to keep the heating on- it seemed I had to keep the light on for the heat to pump through the vents… maybe that was me not using it properly.
Beautiful bathrooms, spacious and clean.
Staff at reception were a bit sparse and we had to wait a while to be seen.

Restaurant, visually a little tired. Restaurant staff absolutely made up for that - friendly, and willing to go the extra mile.

Food was really good, small menu - but with our party of 10 - cooked to perfection, and served promptly, even though the rest of the restaurant looked busy as well.

Bar staff, very friendly.
Special mention to Jeven who kept up with our large group orders, in the evening (Saturday 1st November)

Hotel had potential, lovely big room and very spacious reception, bar and restaurant. Negatives, our room was for 2 adults and 1- 17yrs old. we only had 2 towels, 1 cup, no english tea bags and only 2glasses.
I was impressed the gym had a Peloton bike, it was a very old model but that didnt matter. No clean towels in the gym just a over flowing cupboard of used towels or not even paper towels avaliable.
The barman was fantastic, great asset to the team, very friendly and went the extra mile. Unfortunately the beer tap wasnt working or we would have stayed for a few drinks.
Breakfast was well worth it. Plenty of choice and well laid out.
The car parking spaces are tiny!
Overall, happy with a stay. Just a few annoying little let downs.

Receptionist I’m sorry I didn’t catch her name was very helpful with everyone’s room problems. Mine was lacking the QR code needed for room service, a previous guest or even before them had scratched the code so it was not scannable. Room could clearly benefit from a backup QR code somewhere else in the room on the back of the door. The two men working the bar were also helpful in me placing my room service order. Unfortunately the person whom delivered the food to my room was unwilling to enter the room with the tray and promptly handed it over to me, using a walking aid I precariously placed the tray on the suitcase table. Unfortunately the food was disappointing. I didn’t stay for breakfast so can’t comment on it. The next day I managed to flood the bathroom when using the shower, problem with the drain I’m guessing. The shampoo and conditioner were placed outside arm’s length from shower seat and above normal wheelchair height. Housekeeping had forgotten to replenish the towels in my room when I arrived, and were promptly replaced without asking within I guess 1hr of moving in. Venue had changed extensibly since my last visit of which I had fond memories. Somethings felt cheap and others for example the staff went above and beyond what was expected.

Having paid a premium rate it was outrageous to have to pay an additional fee to checkin an hour early for a room that was already available. The bathroom was so small the door was impossible to shut unless you stood in the shower. It is also very disappointing to have less than mediocre sandwiches for lunch in the bar as the restaurant was not open.
How this hotel gets a Double Tree moniker I have no idea. We will never return to this hotel, or use the brand again.

Disappointed that a hotel that is so close to a family theme park and hosts I’m sure many many children they do not have bed guards. An essential for bringing children to a hotel. The staff were helpful and welcoming. They reminded guests at check in to register the vehicle registration for the free parking. It was something I found unclear from Expedia and other reviews. I was so relieved to congregate free parking when I arrived, especially as there were signs in the car parking listing the rates.
Tasty food, complimentary fruit and warm cookies from the reception staff. Comfortable beds. Happy customers.

Bad odour in Room

We recently stayed at this hotel the overall hotel was clean and nice however the room we stayed was not comfortable at all. Every time we walked in the room the room had this horrible odour. We even spoke to the receptionist Ben and unfortunately he could not do anything other spray some room spray we weren’t able to change rooms due to the being fully booked. On top of the bed and pillows was so uncomfortable probably one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. Considering we stayed two nights we should have been given that option to change rooms. I wouldn’t stay there again

Do not order food at the restaurant inside the hotel. We had to wait 3 hours and when the food came it was totally wrong. Countless things couldn't be ordered either as ingredients were missing or \"off\" in the kitchen. Birthday event ruined. Manager was very aggressive and defensive when raising the issue.

I have been different 4* hotel, but I didn’t respect like this service since we checked in.
1)Parking- Different staff said different things.
2)Bedroom- Towels are yellowish colour, not white. Beding Cover and pillowcases, they both have greasy smell, and spots stain.
3)Bathroom- Shower rail holder was broken, shower head was yellowish, hand basin was blocked.
4)I didn’t expect I need to pay for hot chocolate for myself, one of the receptionist said because I ordered from the bar.( But the things was, nobody in the reception how can I ask?)
5)I didn’t expect there were No chocolate powder offer in the room at all, only essential brand coffees and Twinnings tea bags. ( Is that a 4* hotel service will be like this??)
6)We finished breakfast in the dining area, but we just hang around to finish our hot drink, one of the staff just shout out and talk with her colleague , breakfast time is finish at 10……(Is that a 4*hotel service will be like this??)
7)I saw different guests try to request something or asking somethings,they seems to have the same answer ( I didn’t know that, no one passed me a message, let me go to find out for that ) lol….lol….

Check before it's too late!

Hotel and room excellent. Bed mattress and bed pillows were tired, needed a new mattress and new bedding essentials. Reported to reception upon leaving, as nothing would have been done in a reasonable time frame out of hours. Apart from that, the hotel, bar and restaurant are good, staff excellent.

No responsibility for parking yet when you went to reception and booked your car in if you pay by card didn’t say that there was a charge but if you paid by cash they did £12 for a standard straight brandy £30 for sale and steak. No change in the tills day after today hoping you’ll just leave the change as a tip took £100 that they said was a deposit for things that I might book to the room, but I didn’t now I’ve got a wait days to get the hundred pound back.

The only issue was at check- in. I was assigned to room 309, but my key card wouldn’t work. The housekeeper took my card to get it reprogrammed at reception. While I was waiting, another young man came to #309 which he was assigned - and his key card worked. I went back to reception and I was reassigned to the correct room. The personnel housekeeping and reception) were very helpful and apologetic. I was grateful the error was resolved without incident.

The hotel is nice enough in that check in was friendly and quick.
The hotel seems a bit worn. The hallways looked a bit dated and with an empty ice bucket and cup in the hallway on the floor made it look tired.
The room was ok but the bedding was very uncomfortable and we had to shake the duvets out as they seemed just shoved in the duvet cover.

We stayed in this hotel a couple of times over the years and for this stay the hotel had been renovated, which meant the rooms and decor was more modern. However, the layout and exterior of the hotel is the same and feels dated and tired. We booked a room with a separate bedroom to allow us to put our child to bed which was nice, but the view was of the reception roof and bedroom window was a high up window again of a roof both were dirty and sofa was very uncomfortable. The rest of the room and bed was nice and clean and bathroom was also well presented. Room service options were basic and the 'tacos' were very disappointing especially given the price. Breakfast was good with plenty of options.

Overall an ok stay, disappointed with the overall standard of this Hilton as I expect better from the brand and also compared to other hiltons this felt below par. I would not look at staying here again sadly.
