Very clean, comfortable, historic hotel. Staff and service second to none. I enjoyed my soak in the roll top bath. It is in a very busy restaurant/nightclub area with music from the neighbouring venues audible until early hours at the weekend but not overly intrusive. We would definitely stay again.

We loved everything about this stay: the welcoming, cheerful staff, the comfortable boutique room and the fabulous breakfast that had a great choice of pastries, juices, cereals, yogurts and a wide choice for a cooked breakfast. All dietary needs were met. We would definitely stay again, but next time choose one of the rooms with a king size bed rather than a double.

All the little extras in the room are great. Rooms are lovely, they are clean, warm and well kept. Totally recommend a stay here if visiting Southampton

Nice room with good lighting, which is rare these days! Shane there isn't a plug socket near the mirror so you can use the hairdryer and see what you're doing. Breakfast was average - there wasn't a huge selection and the cooked food was not great in my experience. However, the pains au chocolat and the pains aux raisins were some of the best I've ever had.The staff were very good as is the location.

When we arrived on Saturday late afternoon the pubs downstairs and in the neighbourhood were buzzing. I was initially concerned that it might be noisy but it was totally quiet up in the hotel rooms. The room was tasteful and cosy, loved the bathrobe and slippers and the great shower. Comfy bed, black out blinds. Fabulous breakfast. Parking is not provided and is fairly expensive locally.

This was a lovely place to stay for a few days as we visited family and did some touristy trips.
Even tho' this was above a tavern and in an area with other bars and restaurants, it was very quiet.
Our room was very quaint, the staff were exceptional, the food was wonderful, the breakfast was very good. We had easy street parking.
Our room was clean - tho' very small.
We very much enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

Oh, where do I start? Super polite helpful staff, amazing breakfast, thick fluffy towels, loads of pillows, cloud-like bed, fabulous shower, complimentary beer and water, and real milk in my fridge, gorgeous toiletries, clean comfortable room, v cool bathroom nightlight and good price. From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel right at home. The rooms were very cozy. My husband is a very tall man but it didn’t feel confined. People were very helpful and accommodating. We selected this hotel due to its location near the cruise ship port. The hotel is above a bar on a street closed to traffic. There are a variety of restaurants with everything from pizza to fillet moon nearby. This was a perfect place to stay for a few days prior to cruising. Great breakfast provided too!!

Great from the start to the finish , staff to mention Bridget Jack and Adessa . So lovely to talk to and so kind if offering support . We went to meet up with friends going on a cruise , checked in beforehand and talked to Bridget who was so friendly and welcoming . We wanted to stay two nights but the hotel was fully booked for the second night so Bridget suggested another nearby so we could still meet up with our friends . The restaurant was so lovely , the food great and again the hotel staff so friendly . Although we had checked out the next day we were made to feel welcome anytime after that . Breakfast was superb ( in with the price) . There were plenty of places to explore within walking distance and people on cruises should know this hotel is a must , it’s so near the cruise port and if you have a car you can park it on the cruise port for your convenience . There were plenty of suggestions where to explore whilst we were there . If we do a cruise from Southampton in the future we will certainly return to the White star where we know we will be welcomed but next time we will book a few days before And a day after we return from the cruise there is so much to see . A big thank you to all of you at White Star we will be back !!! Ps missing you already !!

The entire establishment was quaint and beguiling. Breakfast was amazing! There’s some continental but also you can order from full menu. We wanted to have light breakfast so ordered all the sides we liked rather than the big plates. Food was amazing 🤩. Will come back for more enchantment ♥️

We enjoyed 3 great nights before our cruise. All the staff were great. The included breakfast was fabulous!
We were able to walk from the bus station to the hotel easily and then on the morning of our cruise it was an easy 10 minute walk to the ship.
I would definitely recommend The White Star.

We stayed at the White Star Tavern the night before a cruise. I chose this hotel because we prefer places that are unique and not part of a chain of hotels. We were not disappointed! The check in process was smooth and we were asked what time we would like a cab take us to the cruise port. That was a pleasant surprise. Our room was small

The property is centrally, located on a busy bar and restaurant District. That makes the location very attractive to majority of the people. They also worked with us and made it accommodating for us because of the stairs and not having a lift. We would recommend itp to anybody who is looking to come to the city.

This is a definite “must stay” location in Southampton!! The hotel is right in the heart of bars and restaurants- all in a pedestrian only area. The breakfast is absolutely incredible- your choices include menu and buffet. The dinners are excellent, can’t say enough about the quality. And finally, the staff! Remarkable!! Helpful, pleasant and totally enjoyable. Will definitely recommend!!
