We had a nice tight room; bathroom worked fine. Roberto was very helpful about area sights, including how to get the bus for the airport. Note Artistic B&B is a Floor 3 walkup on steep stairs with limited handrailing.

Very nice place in the old part of Madrid. Very charming, clean, rooms and a friendly staff. No shortage of dining options amongst the quaint streets of La Letras. If you want more action the Grand Via is minutes away. Highly recommended.

The room was small and not the two beds we ordered. The breakfast is not on site and was not available for our departure at 7am . Despite this no reduction in price. The rooms are on the 3rd floor of an old building. There is no elevator and at night the stairs are not lit l are dark and hazardous. Overall…don’t stay here. Way to epexensuve for what you get and difficult to find and navigate. AVOID!

Staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and well-equipped. The stairs will definitely help you get in shape! The area is wonderful - so many bars, restaurants, shops, museums, etc. It's easy to walk to just about anything you'd want to see in Madrid, and for the things more than a couple miles away, there's a metro stop super close by.

The location was fantastic close to the Prado, Plaza Major, and numerous restaurants and tapas bars. I cannot ding them on the 3 flights of steep stairs, as it was fully disclosed, but it is literally a long haul for luggage. I also thought that lighting could have been better.

Location is excellent. The food vouchers for breakfast were a nice feature. Now for the bad: There was a periodic vibrating noise from pipes that interfered with sleeping and a 4 story walk up was annoying. Also, roof above hallway was held up with temporary support beams. Security was questionable as door from street, from floor, and individual room
all used same code. I wondered if all the rooms on property were accessible via same code. Therefore we didn't leave anything valuable in the room. Price of 300 US per night for a small room with old bed and 2 extra cots seemed much. Matresses were uncomfortable. With all of the above problems, I loved the location and was happy with my stay in Madrid. In future, I would opt for a true hotel.

On the 4th floor of a walk-up, so pack lightly....very lightly! The young gent that checked me in was kind enough to help me bring up me bag. More of a hostel than a hotel. There is a very small bedroom with a small closet, mini-fridge and a bed. Walls are thin so they ask that you keep all noise down with good reason. There is a common area with vending machine that doesn't always work. This is a good place if you are in your early 20s and need a place to crash while visiting Madrid. The selling point for this B&B (minus the breakfast actually) is the location. You are a stone's throw from bars, restaurants, meet & cheese shops, pastries, clubs, outdoor dining, music, etc. Stay here if you have good cardio and do not plan to stay in your room much.

This place is unique and in an incredible location. It's close to all the major sites, including the Prado. There are dozens of bars and restaurants right near the hotel.

However, they do not serve breakfast. The nice young lady who was present during the day (no one was there at night) seemed surprised when I asked about breakfast. She pointed to the vending machine.

And the STAIRS! Oh my gosh! It was a struggle for me for sure. There is no elevator and though I knew that when I booked, there were four long flights up with my suitcase to get to my room. The walls were paper thin and I could hear everything in the bathroom next to my room. Everything.

the places is nice and well located. It has no elevator, so don't think about going with luggage. Service was amazing by the owners. Its hard with no front desk to get in contact with them if you are a tourist, no hotel before had I had to call or get in touch with someone to get in... but after you manage to do it, they are really friendly

As an interior designer the wall paint colors/ragging attempt was horrendous, but the room was clean, a/c worked great, great shower pressure, and a comfy bed. Not bad for a bed to sleep in, at least your eyes are closed, lol.
I could hear my neighbors showering and doing other things (thin walls) but LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!

I recently visited this lovely place in Madrid that, despite being small, was extremely clean, friendly, and conveniently located. This establishment truly impressed me with its attention to cleanliness. Every corner was impeccably maintained, creating a very pleasant atmosphere.

One of the most appreciated features of this small yet delightful place in Madrid was the much-needed air conditioning, especially during the hot summer.

The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. As soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted and provided with all the information I needed. Their kindness added a personal touch to the experience, and I genuinely appreciated their warm and professional attitude.

The location was really convenient. Situated in the heart of Madrid, this place was easily accessible and close to many tourist attractions. It allowed me to move around the city effortlessly and fully enjoy my stay.

This place was a hidden gem in Madrid. The spotless cleanliness, friendly staff, and perfect location make it a must-visit for anyone seeking a comfortable and enjoyable stay in this beautiful city. I highly recommend it and look forward to returning on my next visit to Madrid.

Lots of character and charm. As other reviewers mentioned climbing the three flights of stairs can be a bit much after walking all day in the city and lights in hallway don’t stay on consistently when climbing stairs, which would help not to fall. I think it was the second floor light that was out…not sure. The only thing that made me rate three stars was that the doors to some of the rooms won’t close without slamming them, which ended up being along me up a lot during the first night and following morning of my stay while I was trying to sleep. This seems like it cools be an easy fix to increase customer quality of life while staying a try is property. Also, another improvement could be an outlet on the room that was clnveneient to charge phone. The only ones I could find had lamps and such already plugged into them and were behind furniture. Other than that, all good! Walkable and cute place.

Great location, within walking distance to many of the must-see sites. Communication was prompt and staff were super helpful and kind. They even found us a place to stay for an extended night when they didn’t have a vacant room and we were considering extending our stay in Madrid. Mind you, this is just a room among several on a single floor inside a multi-floor apartment. The room was very cute and tastefully decorated. There is a “common area” where you can buy water and drinks from a vending machine. Also the sofa bed is really for a child (which served our purpose just fine). The balcony door opens all the way to let fresh air in, which we really enjoyed. There are lots of trucks going in and out on this street though, so there was some noise in the wee hours of morning. The bathroom was very clean and pleasant with shampoo etc, including a hair dryer. Oh and there are absolutely fabulous cafes and bakeries nearby. This was a perfect place for a short stay. Thanks to the hosts!

Not a B&B

Location wise you can't beat it, close to the big galleries, surrounded by bars and restaurants, and not too far away from the heart of the city. There's a metro a couple of blocks away, which with a couple of changes gets you to and from the airport.
The décor is great, as can be seen in all the photos and the bed was lovely and comfortable. However, I think only two rooms have a view of the street, so make sure you can get those if possible.
Then there's the stairs, we were prepared, but they're still a tough climb after a a day exploring Madrid!
Finally, it's no longer a B&B, if you want breakfast you buy a voucher from the staff and go off to one of a couple of cafe's for your breakfast. We found we were better off to just go and find our own breakfast, there's no shortage of places nearby and many were cheaper than the voucher.

property was very convenient to two metro stops (red line & light blue line). Always felt very safe. Doors are coded - front door, main door to the B&B, and to the room.
Room was mopped daily & fresh towels were also provided daily.
Wooden stairs were a chore at first, but by day 3 we were pros. There are light switches as you go up, they are timed, so if it goes off just turn them back on. Also, the gentleman at the front desk was super very helpful bringing up my luggage and helped us with luggage at check out as well.
I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent value for price. Two thumbs up! The hosts are super nice, friendly, and professional. Very clean. Interior design offers ethnic Spanish ambiance . Great location in a safe area. Very close to a subway station (Anton Matin) and other attractions and plazas. Highly recommend. I would stay again. Breakfast is offered at three different nearby restaurants which give wider menu selections. No complaints at all during my two-time stays for a total of 4 nights.

Ida, our staff contact, was superb. She was extremely helpful and friendly. The property location is excellent, within walking distance to restaurants and attractions. (Recommend the Brown Bear Bakery just down the road.) No elevator - steep stairs with no handrail going up to reception and rooms. Stairwell is very dark- there is a light switch on the right as you enter. The room itself was adequate. For 1 person it would be good. There were 2 of us with a dbl bed. Space was cramped.

My daughter and I absolutely LOVED this B&B! It really is so artfully decorated and the surrounding area is beautiful and full of sweet cafes and shops. Our room was beautiful and comfortable, even in a heatwave. ☺️🙌 Loved not having to worry with keys since it has a coded entry. Communication was great in advance. Gabriel got us checked in and was as kind as can be. Couldn’t have been easier. Would definitely return!

Fantastic location at a very reasonable price. Rooms were clean and comfortable and staff was friendly and helpful. While you could hear a fair amount of noise from neighboring rooms, the neighborhood was generally quiet after dark. As long as you don’t mind climbing lots of stairs this is the perfect place to stay and explore Madrid’s famous art museums and stunning parks.

Estuvimos solo un par de días, pero nos fuimos contentas. A pesar de ser un 3° sin ascensor y tener las típicas escaleras desiguales de los edificios antiguos de Madrid tiene buena accesibilidad.La decoración es bonita y muy diferente, el único pero que le podemos poner es que la habitación nos pareció demasiado pequeña para 4 personas, se notaba que era una habitación adaptada para una cama doble y como mucho una individual, pero no dos. El baño también era un poquito pequeño pero muy bonito, la decoración preciosa.
Teniamos incluído el desayuno, y tienen un convenio con una cafetería en la que puedes elegir entre 4 menús, todos muy completos.

The best service , the best location. Minutes away from everything ( that is walking). Shopping , museums, parks and restaurants. Highly recommended. There is three flights of stairs no elevator. I personally like walking so that didn’t bother me at all. But someone in poor health might have a problem carrying suitcases upstairs. Oh and the price is great too.

Beautiful authentic Spanish decorated room with great staff. Only downsides were thin walls, I heard someone snoring next door. The door to my bathroom scraped the bottom of the floor which made it difficult to open and shut however I was notified of this when I arrived. The main door lock was very hard to use for the first couple of days but then it was fixed. Overall great stay, most issues were discussed/fixed by staff. I can tell they are committed to giving a great stay for you. Would absolutely recommend.

The hotel (not a bib, maybe after covid) has an excellent location and is only abt a 5 min walk to any of the “big 3” Madrid museums.
There are lots of unexpected and nice small amenities, rare for a budget hotel.
The room was quite comfortable and at least the night I stayed, quiet.
It is easy to see the host, Alvaro, loves his job, and he does it quite well. He was bubbling over with tips and information. Communication was almost immediate.

This is a great place to stay, hosts are very helpful and breakfast is excellent. There are quite a lot of stairs up to the apartments, so I would not recommend this place for older people, this that have mobility issues or this traveling with a lot of luggage. Location is great and easy walking to everything

Alvaro and his wife were amazing hosts! He was very helpful with directions to the hotel from the airport and gave us all kinds of advice on what to do while we were in Madrid. Both of them were extremely friendly and I felt like we talked with them for hours as if we were already family! Anyone going to Madrid should stay with them!

The staff is what makes this B&B. They are friendly, helpful and multi-lingual. The directions from the airport were so easy to follow and cost saving over a taxi. Breakfast was so varied every day but always delicious. The only down item is the 3rd floor and no elevator. After a long day of touring that was a long climb, as it was with luggage the 1st day. Still it was worth it

This was such a great stay! A little smal boutique-like hotel run by a husband and wife. Alvaro was the greatest! He was very attentive and basically catered to whatever was needed. A wonderful location not far from the Plaza Major and the Prado. Basically in the middle of both locales. And the actual rooms are great! It’s almost like you’re staying in an old apartment like the ones you see pictured in post cards. Highly recommend this place to stay in Madrid!

Paloa and May are great. Nothing was too much trouble. The B&B is about 5 Minutes walk to the Prado and Thyseen Bornemisza museums. I was a lone travelling but joined other guests at breakfast which was lovely.

Whilst there is three flights of stairs and no lift, it was not a problem.

The photos are a true representation of what you will get.

I stayed in the mirror room.

Would definitely stay again.

Fantastic location, wonderful people, and no need for the gym after going up the stairs! My room was clean and cozy and the most quiet location of the many I spent in my time in Spain. Loved the thoughtful little note I got with my breakfast as I dashed out the door to catch my flight! Really wish I could have spent more time at Artistic B&B!!

Charming Hosts, Charming Stay!

Paola and May were lovely hosts!! We really enjoyed our conversations with them over breakfast and they were so accommodating about arrival time and leaving our luggage there after we checked out. The decor was so unique too and we appreciated being able to walk to many places, including the Prado and the palace (10 or 20 min walk, respectively).

Stay here!

Wow! This boutique B&B had a beautiful room with effective air conditioning (a huge plus in the Summer), queen-sized bed, a nice bathroom and even a balcony. The price was right, the service was great, and the breakfasts were tasty. Now, the Artistic B&B is on the third-floor walkup, which might not be for everyone, but it was just fine for me. The place is centrally-located and I'd highly recommend them.

A very chic, bohemian, artistic place. Very comfortable, clean and tidy. The service was fantastic, the host May met me and explained everything I needed to know about the place and the area. For Breakfast Paola was the perfect host and breakfast was very nice. I enjoyed my say here, very central to Madrid and easy access to the museums I came to see. Muy Bien.
