Centrally located, close to museums and major sites including train station if you want to take day trips to other cities, staff were helpful and knowledgeable about the city and made very helpful suggestions related to logistics; room was spacious for two people, kept clean daily with no intrusions at any time; most of all, place was quiet, relaxed, and very peaceful; overall excellent choice for anyone.

Very Quiet area!!!!! Very helpful staff that got us a good taxi to the airport in the morning. Without hesitation, I would stay here again!!

Great old school hotel in a great location

I was impressed from the moment I walked into the hotel. This is how hotels should be run--like true hospitality from an earlier era. The front desk staff were professional, patient and very kind. The process of checking in was very quick and they took the time to answer all of my questions and to direct me to places I wanted to go. The doormen (if that's what they are still called) are extremely professional, helpful and eager to answer questions.

The building is historic and beautiful. The location is perfect in my opinion for easy walking access to all of the art museums, Retiro Park, great restaurants and all of the beautiful city of Madrid. The rooms while maintaining that vintage charm have updated appointments and modern conveniences. The bathroom is modern and quite nice.

There is a nice gym in the hotel with enough equipment and space to accommodate a nice workout.

The housekeeping staff is outstanding. They were quick to make up my room and did a great job every day. A rarity these days. The entire hotel is immaculate. Compliments to the housekeeping staff. I recommend this hotel highly

Hotel was overall very nice, buffet breakfast choice was great and staff were good too. Only negative I experienced was how thin the walls are between rooms ~ I could hear the neighbours talking clearly. ( in bathroom particularly) Wasn't a big deal as was out most of the time but not what you expect from such a hotel. I would recommend staying here.

We loved our stay here. From the classic warm cookies on arrival to the exceptional staff who helped recommend restaurants, the stay at the Double Tree was perfect. The single room was small, but the shower and AC worked perfectly. The hotel is centrally located. You can walk 10-15 minutes in either direction and find yourself surrounded by the beauty of Madrid. I definitely recommend this stay for the ease of access you have to the city, and the staff was great.

Hidden Gem located near all the action in Madrid. It's location is tucked away so not on the main road which I preferred by far especially is a bustling city like Madrid.
The staff were professional, courteous, and on top of their game. Not a detailed missed.
They ordered me a cab on my way out to the airport. A bit pricey and so is breakfast but within a one minute walk you'll find tonnes of options and LaMucca restaurant and bar is also a one minute walk away so have your drinks their. A++

This location is perfect if you are going to the 3 museums. It is right outside the city center (5 min walk) so you are super close to all the action but not directly in all the chaos. The neighborhood it's in is actually super cool with bars/restuarants and plazas. I walked everywhere. I also walked to Salamanca neighborhood, no problem. You could walk to Atocha if you have light luggage, but super easy to catch a cab/uber and it's not that expensive a ride, but nice to know you could walk it if you had to. There is a little market/store right across the street to buy drinks/snacks. ATMs right nearby as well. The Thyssen and Prado are pretty much right across the street. Felt super safe at all times walking around solo.

Constantly slamming staff/facility door at night

The room I was given was just above the staff/facility door/gate. The door kept getting slammed throughout the day, troublesome when you’re trying to rest during the day but unbearable at night when you’re trying to sleep. I have recordings to prove this. Door slamming between 11 AM and 1 AM then starts again at 5 AM. Needless to say, I was only able to get 4 good hours of sleep. And no, earplugs do not block a banging door sound. Staff had no idea about this but I couldn’t be the only one who complained. The first time I mentioned this to staff, they said it was construction next door and that it would be different the following day so I didn’t ask to change room. I “investigated” on my own after it happened again the next evening and found out that my room was just above the staff/facility door. They should not be renting this room since it’s so loud when the door slams for hours in the middle of the night.

Give them a 5th star

All of the staff at the front desk were welcoming and helpful. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. And, the shower was fabulous. The hotel is centrally located and within easy walking distance of Sol, Major and the museums. My wife had a medical issue and the hotel sent a doctor to our room at no charge. I vote to give this property a 5 th star.

Front desk agent took her time to explain places to visit, eat etc… We were disappointed with the fact that Expedia advertises this hotel saying that it has laundry facilities and it does not. The hotel was very well located. Walking distance to main museums and attractions.
The hotel in general and our room were impeccable, bed was extremely comfortable and the area at night is quiet, which is perfect for a good night sleep.

Beautiful hotel and great location!

Loved the hotel and its amenities. Comfortable, good size room with a terrace. Good location and walking distance to El Prado and Reina Sofía museums; as well as other points of interest and nice restaurants. Excellent service. Hotel's breakfast was generous with many options. We needed to take a Covid test one day before departure, the hotel set up an appointment for us at a clinic within walking distance. We highly recommend the DoubleTree and look forward to staying here in the future.

Wonderfully friendly staff. Huge rooms esp for Europe, true king bed. They were nice enough to give us adjoining rooms so we basically had a suite. Excellent shower and location js unbeatable in the heartof the prado. Absolutely cannot go wrong here
