The hotel is about a 3-5 minute walk to the Prado museum and Ritero Park. This is a great location if you plan on visiting the other museums in Madrid. We were on the 3rd floor facing the traffic but the soundproof windows blocked out the noise. The breakfast was good albeit a little pricey at €25 pp.

Fantastic location, just across the street from El Prado. Quick and convenient to Puerta Del Sol, Plaza Mayor, etc.. Service was on-point, which is what you would expect from this type of property. The only let down was bed comfort.

This is a beautiful hotel, right across the street from the Prado. It is within walking distance of many of the most significant places in Madrid.

Just Perfect! Location + Staff!!!

Awesome location! Near The Prado, Atocha train station, plaza Major (and Mercado de San Miguel!!!) and shopping… 10 to 20 minutes walking to everything you want to see! Breakfast was excellent and plentiful, with so many choices! Rooms are well thought out and very clean! Front desk and bell staff were extremely helpful and friendly! I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Mixed feelings. My opinion its not a 5 stars hotel. Missing some major features.
Also, breakfast isn't included. In order to pay €7 less you have to prebook? And the place wasn't busy at all. Gym is on the rooftop, but to get there one has to get outside and walk the stairs. Anyway, bot coming back.

Lobby and check-in was under renovation. One elevator (the only one down to the breakfast area) was not working. Room was beautiful but so chilly, I could not sit and read. Room was colder than the hallways and the elevators. I turned the heat to the max (23 C or 73 F) but it never rose to that temperature. There was no way to make it warmer. I appreciate they are trying to conserve energy, but if the heat is malfunctioning, there should be an option to set it higher, hoping the actual temperature would still be reasonable. Maintenence came, and management also and said they had fixed something centrally, but it never improved. If I had been staying one more night, I would have requested another room, but it wasn't worth it for my 18 hour stay.

The room's odd shape and single air vent may have contributed. There was a reasonable sized bedroom with a bathroom leading off at an angle, and an alcove with chair and minibar at another angle. Sort of Y shaped.

Another odd design feature was in the bathroom. A makeup mirror was located on the far end of the sink counter. But the only way to get there was between a towel rack that was attached to the counter and a bidet on the other size. There was only a 6 inch wide space to get to the mirror, and I estimate it was 3 or 4 feet long, so you couldn't lean over to reach it.

Sometimes, rooms booked through Expedia mean you get the least desirable rooms, and I think this may have been the case.

The property was being remodeled. Thus the Bar was closed, the Front Desk was moved to another area. The staff was extremely friendly. Unfortunately the “superior room with View” room was TINY in the first floor with a “great” view of the trees. When asked about the accommodations they insisted that was the room assigned. Mixed feelings about this Hotel.

The room is small, but that's not the real problem. The furniture in the room are clumsy, i.e., not the right types for the limited space, and poorly positioned making the room rather cluttered. For a hotel of this class, it's odd that there is only one elevator.

The hotel room was very small and had none of the typical things you expect in a four star hotel room, like ironing board, iron, free water, toiletries. The location was very good and it made up for these simple missing items. The Breakfast buffet was priced as the only option and it was far too expensive for a light breakfast eater. They should fix these simple problems

We had a lovely stay at NH Collection Paseo del Prado! We felt pampered after a long journey. The staff were so nice and helpful. They truly went the extra mile. The bar area served tea and dessert as well as drinks, in a pretty drawing room. Breakfast was delicious. We were across the street from the Prado, which made our visit to the museum so easy. The neighborhood is beautiful!

Great location, small room

I booked this hotel bc of its location which was perfect for the three museums we wanted to visit. The room was very small and on the street so there's traffic noise. As senior travelers, the room and bathroom are hard to get around due to size and where amenities are positioned: the mini fridge is low to the ground and knees didn't like this. There was ample room in the closet so wondered why the fridge wasn't there. The coffee maker is in an awkward place, making it hard to pour the water in. The bathroom is small with limited counter space. We went to the rooftop to discover there was just a gym up there-wondered why there was no bar or restaurant with the incredible views there. The staff was not overly friendly but did speak English, as most places did.

We have stayed at NH Collection Hotels in may countries over the years and found them to be our go-to choice. However, we had a couple disappointing stays on our recent trip to Brussels & Madrid related primarily to cleanliness. As to Madrid the Hotel is is a great location. Breakfast was very nice. The Hotel is is need new carpet and furnishings. The carpet was simply dirty & worn out throughout the areas we saw. Furnishings in the Bar area were becoming threadbare. NH Collection is no doubt entertaining updating at least those items so as to meet, what we have experienced in the past, there very high standards. The staff in both locations did the best they could do with the challenges that met them. The items we observed, despite their best efforts, were beyond their control. The responsibilities, of course, reside with Ownership and/or management. Covid time has contributed to the many challenges that Hotels have to contend with.
