The rooms could use some TLC. The pool was not cleaned the 4 days I was there. A lot of debris from trees from thunder storms and winds was left in the pool. The manager was a very good worker. He was doing different jobs and doing them good. He was very helpful.

I was disappointed. The room felt very damp, with constant moisture in the air. Uncomfortable to sleep in because everything felt humid. The condition of the room made it difficult to relax and enjoy my stay. I requested a refund/if any, and was told no. I was coughing throughout the night because the room felt so uncomfortable.

Everyone at the property was very friendly and helpful, except the lady that runs the kitchen for breakfast. She was not friendly at all. The front desk staff were awesome. The only other suggestion I would have is that it would be nice if there were some bars to hold onto in the shower and also if there was a shelf of some kind in the shower to set things on. Thank you.

Initially, I was placed in a room that had a chair that looked as if it was straight from the dumpster. It reeked urine. I was horrified and discombobulated. The bed smelled of stinky feet. I sprayed the room and furniture with Lysol and it did not help. I was transferred to another room and it was a little better. The staff were friendly and nice. However, The experience has left me with feeling very disappointed. Looking back, I am entitled to a refund, at least partially. This place was more like a motel than a hotel. I will not be returning. Linens should be cleaned and changed per every check out visit and that means the entire bed linen changed, pillows, sheets, and spread. Customers should not be subjected to what I experienced. Especially, considering what is charged to stay at the hotel facility.

Average to Below Average

Did not try the breakfast. The bed is lumpy and fitted sheet was too small for bed. It would not stay in place.

The young lady at check in wasn't rude, nor was she friendly at all. Very little to say and mumbled when she did speak.

Disappointing, to say the least

When we arrived, our room had been given away and we were charged the same rate for a room that cost significantly less per night than the one I initially booked on Hotels.com. We were able to move into the room we originally booked the next morning, from a room with two queen beds into the king bed suite (which is what I originally purchased).

Both rooms had bugs in the bathroom. In the king suite (which should have been cleaned directly before we moved into it), I opened the shower curtain and found a dead spider in it. The compartments for the towels and the toilet paper holder also had dust inside.
I put a brand new pair of socks on my two year old and after only a couple of minutes of walking on the carpet in our room, the bottom of his socks were filthy, like the carpet hadn’t been vacuumed in months.
When my husband asked the housekeeper if she could come back to clean in 30 minutes to give us time to leave the room, she replied she only cleaned from 9-10am and wouldn’t be able to come back that day. To my knowledge, our room was never cleaned during our week-long stay.
Finally, there was the pool. We took our son, niece and nephew to swim and the pool walls were covered in algae, the bottom of the pool was filthy, and there was all kinds of plastic and debris floating in it. The staff did clean it the next day, but we never tried to use it again.
The front desk staff was extremely kind and friendly, but the damage had already been done.

Good place to crash

We booked last minute but they were very professional, nice and welcoming. The water pressure was amazing! The room was spotless and we like the bed; it was hard but comfortable and the pillows were in good condition. Breakfast was so-so. The protein was hash, not really our jam, but it is what it is for a decent priced room. Also, pool was small and underwhelming

The breakfast attendant Rosa is the rudest human i have ever encountered. When we went down for breakfast,at 830am, there wasnt anything available,no food,no juice,no coffee and no syrup for waffles. I asked for syrup and told Rosa it was truly ridiculous that there were 6 other guests and no food on the breakfast. Rosa began speaking in Spanish and yelling at me,I told her i spoke Spanish and to stop cussing me out. Tosa was so out of control, the Front Desk Attendant kept apologizing profusely for Rosas actions. I want to be compensated for this OR is it Best Westerns policy to advertise free breakfast but not provide it

Every single person who works there that we encountered was simply amazing. Super friendly and answered our questions. Breakfast was good. Waffles, eggs, bagels, yogurt, coffee. Ice machine and vending all worked.

The issue I had was with the outlets and the furniture. There were 6 outlets around the bedside area. Only 2 worked. There were 2 wall outlets that worked, so we had to buy the longer charging cords to use them. We also unplugged the hair dryer from the bathroom so we could use those outlets. Also, the night table drawer wouldn't stay closed. I have a small bruise on the side of my thigh from hitting it when I got up in the middle of the night.

Hallways need vacuuming and shampooing. The room we are in smells like a dog. Rug torn where it meets vinyl, a trip hazard in our room

Will not stay here again. Price was 40.00 cheaper if we had not used Expedia

Chose the hotel because of the swimming pool but unfortunately it was a bit too cold to swim so had no chance to experience.

Filthy disappointment

Welcome to Best Western Mayport where you enter the front lobby to a almost friendly staff member with a full frontal attack of mold and mildew. Follow the filthy stained hallway carport to a room that has surface dirt like items have been removed but not wiped down. Stay a few hours, walk out, return to find the cockroach friends racing to their next hiding spots while they think you are away. Return to the semi-friendly staff to advise of your new friends and they will not apologize, but ask for photographic evidence. Please take a photo don't try to assault their friends. Okay, I'll stop there, please don't go unless you want to pay cash by the hour. Not good, no bueno, avoid, evitar!

Not very happy…..

Our stay at the hotel was a situation where we had to flee from hurricane Milton with our cat. I’m very grateful for the hotel to accommodate pets and the staff was friendly. However; I found one of the bed to be very uncomfortable. And the lighting in the bathroom had a very unusual blue color, making for getting ready more than undesirable. And the drywall has cracks in it. Check out was easy and efficient. I will think twice before booking again.

The place is super clean and the maintenance guy was nicer than the front desk . He possibly could had been the owner took great pride in his work .
One suggestion to the front desk people . Vacuum after the breakfast times . Waking up and sitting down to eat and discussing with there families about there day was made difficult due to the fact we couldn’t hear each other over the vacuum. Other than that great place I’ll stay again

Elevator didn’t work and wasn’t fixed in the two days we were there. Old building. Wifi worked great though as I had to do an exam in my room my last day. Probably wouldn’t choose this one again to be honest.

The bathroom floor had spilled coffee. The bed sheets had holes in them. This is not a beach front property as advertised. This property is 3.2 miles from the beach. The room has an odor. The front desk personnel were good.

Elevator was not working, but staff was very helpful assisting us to get our bags to the 2nd floor.
We were greeted daily, especially the ladies that set up breakfast and all the housekeeping staff.
Not a perfect stay, but the kindness made the inconvenience well worth it.

The Best Western in Mayport was very conveniently located as I visited family who were receiving care at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. The breakfast and staff member, Rosie, were excellent. There were hot eggs, protein, make-your-own waffles and oatmeal every day along with cereals, yogurt, breads, fresh fruit, juice and coffee. I used the fitness room once and that was great (although I couldn't find the remote for the TV). Overall the room was clean and fresh linens were provided. The microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator with a small freezer came in very handy. The hotel could use on-going upgrades and I'd suggest removing carpeting and putting in hard flooring to make things easier to clean. The cost was a bit higher than I would have liked (about $650 for a four night stay for one person), but within the range of other options.

We selected the BW on the beach, for 2 nights at $300. When i got my email with the address it was not the beach. The floors were gross and nasty and stunk. The bath tub had pubic hairs in it. The beds were hard and the head of the be was tilted downward so i had to sleep on the ither end. And to top that off we had a wonderful view of a a homeless person that was living between the motel and the dollar tree, which greeted our morning with popping a squat right out in the open . Needles to say we did not stay the second night.

Last Stay At This Best Western

My wife and I travel very infrequently, her sister hosted our Thanksgiving Fest there in Atlantic Beach. I've never booked anything using Hotels.com, I have $150.00 worth of your gift cards, so when I made our reservation on line I thought I was reserving the room with my debit card then use the gift cards upon arrival for the partial payment. As we were checking in Robby was on the desk, and stated that our room had already been pre-paid by Hotels.com and I would be unable to use the Hotels.com gift cards at this time. So that was bad enough, but around 9:00 am, 11/24/23, Room 208-B, I was showering, slipped and fell in the tub, on the way down I grabbed the shower curtain, bending the shower rod, the non-skid surface of the bath tub has worn off over time and was smooth to the touch, my back was sore for about a week and it appears that I'm ok, so I'm not considering filing a complaint. My wife was just outside the door when I fell, took photos of the bent rod, absence of grab bar, and the worn down surface bottom of the tub. As we were checking out we advised the maid service about what just happened and appraised BW's desk clerk the same information. If you need to contact me, my phone # (941) 761-4959, email: [email protected], sincerely, Ron McLeod
